good one and a good piece for history, but that kebbi former governor who is now a senator elect is surely one of those enjoying this country at the fullest, imagine after taking the oath of Governor thrice you are now a senator, haba na only him waka come?

Thanks to the amendment of the constitution by PMB on those who complete their former bosses' tenure as Governor and President to only seek for re-election just once. Something stills need to be done though in the constitution for Governors making the senate a retirement center.

I do. I also know that you should be demanding that your leader sit at home with you. Not gallivanting around the world in first class luxury while you do the leg work in Nigeria. When will Igbos produce a REAL leader? One that will say, ''I am not going anywhere. If una like make una kill me here.'' OBJ did it. He was here and Abacha jailed him. He came out looking like a stick. He could have run to London or US. But he didn't. That's a real leader. Awo same thing. He stayed here and suffered jail sentences. With Igbo leaders, the slightest problem, na aeroplane.
mhen you finish work here, but will they ever listen? They will never but blame others for their misfortune.

I am not fooled by this judgement. This is just a ploy by the acting CJN to make him appear fair, so that he will remain as the CJN and possibly be allowed to sit in judgement on the case that Atiku will eventually bring to the supreme court. This is where he will do his hatchet job of awarding Buhari the legal victory, that will authenticate his presidency.

I hope PDP strategists are deft enough to follow my logic on this. This is just a game plan. Award PDP a state, and give APC the country, while at the same time, making the acting CJN seem straight-forward. Don't fall for this oldest trick in the book

SW is not South. You killed that when you decided to pitch you tent with the North in 2015, against a Southern presidential candidate. You will reap in 2023, the seed you sowed in 2015. It's as simple as that.

How exactly did APC win 40% of SS votes in the last election?

A Northern Candidate in PDP makes a whole lot of difference to the outcome of APC Yoruba president. Yorubas have burnt all good will you lots have, worst still your 2023 ambition is one borne out of greed, seeing as you had your turn in 1999-2003. In MKO era, the current dynamics isn't same.
MKO won in Anambra and got more than 45% votes castes in Abia,, Enugu and Imo.
That's how you edged out TOFA. What are the chances of a greedy SW presidency candidate getting 2% of SE votes? What are your chances of making inroads in SS considering how you treated GEJ in 2015?

There nothing like the South in Yoruba current presidential ambitions. You killed a Southern presidential candidate (GEJ) just so that you can become a VP and thereafter become president. You might think yourself wise, but you are not as wise as you think. You will taste your own medicine come 2023. Your presidential candidate will sacrificed for a Southern VP.

Just watch and see.
the problem with you guys is that you don't understand sw politics and that's why you see them as betrayals, sw don't play direct politics like the rest of the country, they go to where their interest lies, you guys will shout betrayal again in 2023 when those you think opposed tinubu, osinbajo and co in 2019 turn around to work and support them in 2023.

And what does that say about the Igbos?

Why is it that the Igbos are the ones most angered by the June 12 democracy day that is for all of Nigeria?

Is democracy only for Yorubas? Or did the military continue to rule in the SouthEast or the rest of Nigeria after May 1999?

Or the fact that majority of Igbos did not vote for a fellow Southerner, but chose a Northerner on June 12 1993, is a guilt of betrayal that they do not want to be reminded about, especially when they are now the greatest advocates parroting Southern Unity and making claims that some other persons are Northern slaves or betraying the South?

so sad, we have lost our humanity as a people, when I see folks abusing efcc for doing their job, I just know we are not ready as a Nation to truly fight corruption. There is no selective fight against evil. If you do the crime, get ready to also do the time.

Most Nigerians no longer believe in hard work and honesty. They want politicians to behave first before they themselves behave. Very funny

Bitter, how? So, answer me then, why did Buhari campaigned that his wife will not have any official office and no public fund would spent on her becus not constitutional?

Why did he say what he can't keep then? If Buhari has done all he condemned his precedecor of doing, what use if he to us then?
When you see buhari, you can ask him. The presidency of any nation is an institution, you may have your personal views on how things should run before entering the office but when you get in, you have to surrender to the tenets of the office, part of which is proper care and welfare for your immediate family. Its like asking why any of buhari's children must eat breakfast in aso rock cos it's public fund. Some things are petty including the question of the first lady not being catered for by public funds.

So relax and stop being petty

My problem is that he is doing what he complained others were doing.
you are just bitter, so his wife should be excluded from being taken care of because she is not elected, how wise you are. When you see Donald trump, tell him same thing too. Elections are over, try and move on bruv, Hatred and bitterness kills.

How is earning 1m per month for doing nothing modest?

Have you felt the impact of this government?
I am not a GEJ supporter because most unintelligent nairalanders tend to come at someone criticizing
PMB from that angle.

Unless you are benefiting from the aids one way or the other, I see a lot of wrong in this
This is not about impact of the govt, that's a different topic. This is about salaries of those who work directly and personally with the President, the most powerful person in the country and you think 1m monthly is too much? Do you know that Special advisers are almost at par with Ministers? You want those who work with the President following him about to earn the minimum wage like someone pointed out earlier

If you have personal issues with the President, fine but on this every well educated person knows this is very modest. Problem with you guys is that everything that has to do with PMB is wrong.

But your Buhari said he will do away with all these!

What u people fail to do is to hold ur politicians accountable based on their promises.. Like Fashola said, he would fix electricity in 6 months

He even lamented that electricity is not rocket science..

Lol, it is almost 5 years and the same stories..

Buhari lambasted Yara dua for traveling to Saudi for medicals, he promised to end it, he came to power, he did worse and he is still doing same..

and yet, someone somewhere still dey praise Buhari. If u ever condemned GEJ presidency, u must condemn this one too becus na the same stories with different faces.
stop being petty, if this is what these government aides are truly earning, then this government is very modest. No wonder folks don't like buhari govt cos he is not throwing money around, only haters think otherwise

Achebe is the Einstein of African literature while Soyinka is the Paul Dirac of African literature. Achebe's works are popular and he is more famous by a miles. Personally, I am not that familiar with Soyinka's works. The few I have read are not as interesting as Achebe's novels.

All these turanci you are writing here do not add up.

Don't tell me you are this naive or uncircumspect....

Achebe was never had the Nobel for Literature conferred on him for one main reason: His acclaimed stance against the white establishment in their attempt to depict black Africa as an inferior race. He was renowned for challenging long-held views that African literature is not pristine and that African writers had little literary merit.

Achebe dared the supremacists. He hinted severally that he didn't need the prize to underline his standing as one of the best men of letters of all time.

In. terms of depth, technical and cultural significance, reach and universality, Soyinka knows there was no time he could have held a candle to Achebe.

Where are Soyinka's Things Fall Apart, No Longer At Ease and Arrows of God?

How many Nigerians have heard of Jero Plays, Kongi Harvest and The King's Horseman (hope I got that title correctly)?

Achebe is undisputably one of the greatest literary minds ever to come out of Africa.

You have don't have your magnus opus translated to over five dozen languages for nothing....resa ipso loquitor...
Silly excuses, it's like saying Femi kuti that was nominated for the Grammy failed to win because of his stance against the white man bias against black African music.

Just a word for you guys, contentment. Be content with what you have and how God has made you guys. Identity crisis is the greatest problem the igbos have and folks like reno will continue to feed on you guys discontentment about how God has made you, to rule and manoeuvre you guys politically. What a pity.

Soyinka is not you guys' problem but yourselves for lack of contentment. Only the igbos discredit Soyinka which has no impact on his world acclaimed fame for contributions to literature

This is not fear of Afonja

A typical Eboe man is envious by nature. Quote me anywhere. He is envious of his father ,mother, brother ,sister .... everyone. That is his nature .#

Once you understand that you have understood the Eboe man.

He will try and dress it up as competitiveness but the reality is he hates to see anyone but himself personally succeed. It is only

when that cannot happen that he will accept it for another Eboe First

The moment someone achieves any little glory his instinct is to compare himself sometimes even offering an explanation why it wasn't him.

It is really bizarre but true.

The level of envy is simply unmatched

The truth is Achebe was a novelist his only distinction being that he was FIRST or one of the first to publish out of Africa. He did not win the Nobel Prize and was NEVER nominated for it. He simply was NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Now Eboes see rivalry where there is none. If the Yoruba have one we must too. Literature is not p0rnography. It it was about popularity maybe Jackie Collins or Harry Potter author would have won a Nobel Prize. How many Eboe men are know as Playwrights

There are several other Nigerian writers way better than Achebe but everyone is polite because he was the first and opened the way for others. He certainly is not in the league of Ben Okri who is more accomplished
You've said it all, it's all jealousy!

some fellas are just educated illiterates e.g. Reno.

Soyinka has paid his dues, not many including those who are always using their ethnic bigotry to cast aspersions knew the efforts Prof Soyinka made to persuade the Govt back in the 60s to avert the bloody civil war.

It's high time folks are properly educated from the history books to give credit rightly where it belongs and stop exposing their high level of illiteracy, the fact that Soyinka never supported your favourite politician does not reduce or diminish his hard earned credentials and precious contributions to the project called' Nigeria'. Nigeria would have been a better place if we had more like him.

They have been asking for the return to the 1963 constitution for 50years.You can see that they don't intend handing over to the vice president or tinubu or fashola, because they will avoid it by all means possible.so it is good to use double strategy aiming for the same goal post and defeat this wicked system.
No one can hold this country to ransom, the problem is not the people who are resisting a change in the system it but the strong resolve of those who want a change. We talk too much in Nigeria but we are not wiling to make enough sacrifices, note the word 'enough' pls.

We simply lack enough men of principle who truly desire a change, if atiku had won, the same adebanjo too will forget about restructuring and become part of the atiku cabal like the way edwin clark and co were during gej's reign.

Nigerians are not ready for restructuring, we only complain when we are not part of those who have access to certain privileges, the same people shouting restructuring today who were in Gej's govt were also silent about restructuring then.
