naptu2: 1) Dr Joe Abah was actually appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013.
2) Dr Joe Abah is not a politician. He is actually a civil servant (He is the director general of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms. He was appointed to that position by Goodluck Jonathan in 2013). He is not a member of APC or PDP.
3) He was one of the people that hyped Innoson vehicles on Twitter (years ago), so there's nothing wrong if he makes his complaints at the exact same place that he praised the product.
4) His complaints have yielded fruit. Innoson officials have visited him to rectify the problem. Ethnic and religious bigotry remains our bane in Nigeria. If this product was from the north or sw, the same people abusing Dr. abah would have been the one asking Govt to close down the company for sub-standard products. Its just so bad, sometimes am feel so ashamed being a Nigerian. How do we ever get here |

If you think because of your lies the yorubas hate PMB, wait till 2019 and you will be shocked with the massive show of support they will give the APC again. I have responded to your lies with facts yet you are coming up with a funny theory that the yorubas wanted PMB to treat them like the way GEJ treated the igbos just to divert attention from my facts. |

Most of the projects Ambode is doing in Lagos presently especially on Federal roads will never be possible if APC was not at the centre. The works going on all thru iyana-oworo to alapere can never be possible if pdp was still in abuja. They will never approve that. All the cages built by ambode on ikorodu road to stop pedestrians crossing at will at ojota to mile 12 can never happen with a different party at the centre, same with the flyover going on in abule-ebga. some ogun state projects has also been taken over by the FG [the akute-ota road]. The badagry and lekki seaports with the lekki airports plan are also coming up.
op, you are only trying to mischievous and we understand your frustrations, despite some complaints, the sw has a big stake in this Govt which they will not allow it slip even in 2019. The yorubas are smart and they know what it means to be aligned with the centre which pdp can never guarantee especially with their failures in the past. Your wailing will increase in 2019, even tinubu will not give up his stake no matter how little in this govt with pdp's pot of porridge and with some yoruba ministers holding some sensitive portfolios like Finance, Power, Works and so on the sw are still very comfortable in PMB's govt. |

bjdon: Firtstly let me state clearly I am no supporter of ACP.
However I think Nigerians need to reflect very carefully. We keep saying the country is in a mess, that we want things to change, yet when somebody tries to change things we complain. How far?
My wife worked in Kano for her NYSC and the stories she told me about 'Ghost workers' was unreal. On Payday you would see thousands of women in hijabs show up to collect salary and then you don't see them again till the next pay day. Is that right? I understand that happens in a lot of states in the country. If a Governor is trying to stop that by implementing verification processes should he be abused for that? I can tell you that many of those so called elders that are moaning now, are the very people who have been gaining from ghost worker scams.
On the issue of appointments, is that not we have all be clamoring for? Do we not want to all see a Nigeria where anyone can get an appointment in any part of the country regardless of their ethnic origins?
I am sorry, but I see nothing to attack El-Rufai for here. He's simply trying to do things the right way, which in Nigeria is a very hard thing to do. most of the attacks on el rufai are just political and sentimental, the same they were doing to him in abuja but today abuja people sees el-rufai as one of the best things ever. That is how Nigerians are, we are too emotional. The same Nigerians abusing you today will praise you tommorrow. We don't know exactly what we want |

FFK wrote: "You bathed in the blood of Biafrans, you crushed their bones and stripped away their dignity and self-respect just to keep Nigeria one. Now you say their children have no right to ask for self-determination simply because you killed their fathers and mothers during the war and shattered their dreams. Shame on you. If Nigeria was a normal country by now you would have been at the ICC answering charges of genocide and crimes against humanity at the Hague instead of being President.
If you want the Igbo or any other southerner to stay and if u want Nigeria to remain one then treat us all as equals, offer our children and our people equal opportunities and a public apology and pay full compensation for all the atrocities that you, your people and your forefathers have committed against the people of the south and the northern minorities over the last two hundred years.
In addition to that you must defeat, destroy and dismantle Boko Haram, decommission your Fulani militias and herdsmen and put a stop to the marginalisation, threats, genocide, ethnic cleansing and mass murder of our people.
It is after you have done all these things that you can make an appeal to us for the continued unity of Nigeria.

eyeview: Philosophers have actually discovered that it us a black man thing to believe that you must suffer before anything good. That's why if a govt wants to build a road in Nigeria, they will block the road and expose the road users to untold hardship and tell them to endure it till the road is finished. Buy when you travel outside our shores, you see where the same project is carried out without any stress on the same road users. For eg,the work is mostly done in the night when traffic has eased out and before morning, they have reopened the roads for users. That way,the people barely feel it. A typical example is our drugs. While the white man after manufacturing his drugs, coats it with sweet and palatable substances,we believe in 'swallowing the bitter pill' to be well, and you can see the bitter reflection in our native herbs. And yet the sweet route is still more potent than our bitter route. If you are creative and dynamic, you will be able to conceptualize means of achieving effective goals without harm to the statistics(or at worse;most minimal) do you know the security risk of constructing roads in the night? By the time the expatriates are kidnapped, you will still blame the govt for not providing enough security. we complained too much in Nigeria, we are not a developed nation yet and so some of the the things we see in the developed world or more secured nation cannot happen yet. That is the reality, let's stop being sentimental. We cannot be that dynamic for now with all our religious and ethnic sentiments. we are joking |

But letting her walk away with over $30million will also send a very wrong signal that there are sacred cows in the fight against corruption. If she can forfeit all what she stole, then the government can enter into an arrangement where she will get clemency for her cooperation. What i will never support is allowing her go away with the loot like she's demanding. And again, she is already in court to get a de-freezing order against EFCC, such effrontery only breeds impunity. How can she be so bold as to approach the court to allow her enjoy the proceeds of her crime? We should not set a bad precedent no matter the situation. Remember the peace pact GEJ and PMB signed before the elections monitored by ex head of state Abdusalam Abubakar. I think GEJ always run to Abubakar anytime yawa wan gas as per his loots to seek cover. This is what GEJ will keep holding to, reason anyone who worked with GEJ caught stealing will always say they were instructed by GEJ to do so to run under that cover of the peace pact. e.g. dasuki, NOI, even metuh and ffk. Very shameless but that's the mess we are in. The case of patience jonathan will go a long way to test his resolve to fight corruption without fear or favour. All we want to see his Patience Jonathan in court to answer to charges of money laundering and corruption. If the court finds her not guilty, good for her. Just charge her to court and let justice be done. Let's get real bruv, Patience and his wife GEJ would never be charged to court, we are not matured as a nation for that now sentiments upon sentiments will never allow that to happen. The social media too has also become an official medium that is well recognized and not taken lightly at all whether mischievous or not hence any reputable organisation will handle issues concerning them on the social media very carefully. Bottom line is that the marketers wants subsidy payments back hence the blackmail using forex as a cheap excuse which is not valid at all and many Nigerians knows this. |

idupaul: Then let's brace up for another gruelling fuel scarcity. .I advise the govt fully deregulates now and allow market forces determine the price of fuel at the pump There will never be fuel scarcity, far from it. we have been hearing about fuel scarcity for over two months now and it never happened. You know why? Fuel marketers need to work for their money now as there will never be fuel subsidy payments again to make up for the time they close shop as it was in the past. Reason NUPENG and PENGASSAN never join NLC in their yeye strike earlier in the year. With deregulation, there can never be scarcity, have you heard of diesel scarcity before? that is how petrol is now. Even if petrol price is increased to say N150 or more, it will come down to 145 again, that is how deregulation works, I saw a a filling station selling diesel at 175 per litre last week and I had a good laugh. cooking gas went up to 4,000 and over before it came down 3500, 3600, that is how it works. Petrol scarcity is gone as long as there is no subsidy payment. Man must wack including the marketers |

idupaul: I still don't get what this has to do with what I wrote...the problem is that the oil importers are saying that due to large forex disparities the can't continue selling at 145 because doing so will mean them selling at a loss ..this leaves the govt with just 2 options which will be to either allow for total deregulation or subsidize it again like what obtained in the past. .whether consumers end buy less fuel or more fuel doesn't change the fact that every litre has a landing cost and the fuel importers have a profit margin they expect for every litre The marketers are not being honest and many Nigerians know this, the price of 145 was fixed to satisfy their greed as the price should have been lesser. We are in total deregulation but many of the marketers are yet to come to the reality of the deregulation era having been spoiled with subsidy payments over the years. How come some have been selling at 139, 140, 141 all this while? did govt force anyone to sell less than 145 all this while, is it not the forces of demand that has been making many of them reduce their prices yet many are not buying. Forget the forex issue, fuel importation is a private business, do the marketers expect Govt to print dollars for them to import? don't worry many filling stations will soon close down as we have too many sef since subsidy payments in the past made many who have nothing to do with oil and gas started opening filling stations all over the place. By the time they close down due to low patronage, demand for dollar will go down Nigeria always defy simple economics in most matters but the marketers can't defy this one lai lai. Car manufacturers recall cars when there is a recurrent fault which has been reported and confirmed by a large percentage of customers (not just one customer on tweeter). So far, IVM still maintains a very good record to the best of our knowledge. IVM is still a green horn and still need to get more confidence from their buyers, customer is KING in business. I don't think it should take anything much for them to fix the car, that will promote their products more and give better public image. Its an opportunity for IVM, it depends on how they see it |

kenny987: Recall? Recalling a product implies there are technical and production faults which immediately affect the performance of the machinery, there will most likely be very high complaints frequency of similar problems from lots of customers. A vehicle developing a fault after 2yrs or more of usage on crazy Nigerian roads dies not warrant a recall. The aide was purely mischievous! He should have gone to the custom care of d company to complain, that is a normal procedure. His silliness on twitter would have been more sensible if he'd gone to report d faults and he was not properly attended to or they were inexplicably unable to resolve the problem! Innoson is still new in this business please so its up to them to protect their brand by doing the needful by getting in contact with the complainant and fixing the car. its that too much? This is where Nigerian businesses miss it, the same toyota cars and co ply Nigerian roads too, don't they? whether the man is mischievous or not, its up to innosson to defend their brand, when I was doing my masters in unilag, a former md of uac was in the same class with me for a particular course, someone in the class before lecture began was chatting with a friend and abusing Mr biggs for their meat pie, the former uac md heard and quickly called his successor in uac to come hear and see for himself what people were saying about mr biggs meat pie. Few moments later, Mr biggs staff arrived the class where we are and started serving everyone snacks for free, it was like what? are we dreaming? The fuel marketers are just looking for subsidy payment that's all. How many people buy petrol these days, there is too much fuel at the tank farms now with less demand due to the present state of the economy according to recent reports.
The deregulation regime for petrol is not palatable to the marketers as the forces of demand is at play hence the variation in prices from 139 to 145 naira per litre and with the way the economy is going, petrol price will fall as demand reduces.
The marketers are only trying to play a fast one on PMB with the forex issue, its not by force to be in fuel importation business, if you can't cope with the business, then leave it to the big players.
Nigerians do not be deceived, we are in the era of deregulation. marketers are only looking for subsidy payment chikena. |
