I pulled the International Standard Version (ISV) because it uses 'language' instead of 'tongue' as we agree. Now, look at this verse very well and compare to the spoken language in Acts that was a WELL KNOWN AND UNDERSTANDABLE language. This verse in 1 Corinthians says NOT SPEAKING TO PEOPLE BUT TO GOD, NO ONE UNDERSTANDS HIM .......but what was spoken in Acts was SPOKEN TO MEN AND WAS UNDERSTOOD.

Can you spot the difference my brother? And how do you explain that from this verse?

No contradiction at all - An unbeliever does not necessarily mean someone who doesn't know God. There are unbelieving (those who operate in doubt) believers or Christians.

There's nowhere in scripture where the words of Christ EVER, I say EVER contradicted the words or teaching of Apostle Paul except when you can't parallel the teachings of our Lord and Saviour with that of Apostle Paul. Permit me to say this, what Christ came to do and teaching is a NEW COVENANT and in order to do that, Christ will first need to lay another foundation which is different from the OLD COVENANT. So when Apostle Paul came, he NEVER said anything different. In fact, he attested to the foundation Christ laid by saying,

For no other foundation can a man lay than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 3:11

Now, in other for this foundation to take effect, Christ has to institute a NEW COVENANT and to do that, he will have to shed his blood. This NEW COVENANT is IN christ's blood but this NEW COVENANT cannot take effect until that blood is shed. This is therefore what Christ had to say,

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. - Luke 22:20

Hence, you see, "which is SHED FOR YOU". The blood has to be shed in order for the New Covenant to fully take effect. You need to parallel Paul's teaching with Chtist's teaching - There's no contradictions at all.

Yeah, I wanted to have fun with the boy called logic and also help him to mature on this forum. (No insult intended please). I wanted to help him see that he can reason his course with calling names nor insulting anyone. I wanted to help him put his youthful energy to more resourceful things in life. Religion will always divide us but the New Commandment in Christ will make the world a better place to live.

Yes, you're right because many of US started by knowing our Lord as JESUS but we refused to know him as CHRIST. Christians weren't first called Christians because they KNEW JESUS but because they knew the CHRIST through JESUS and therefore, acted like CHRIST and they're called CHRISTians.

I do understand the points you have raised and share in your skepticism. There are people who try to attack our faith in the guise of correcting a wrong but I believe that we should handle this on a case by case basis.

I do appreciate your zeal and frankly, I sometimes wonder when I will have such zeal for the Lord but brother Goshen I would really appreciate it that you teach us how not to speak out of emotions but consider the facts and act on them as we see them.

Logicboy is an Atheist and I don't expect him to see things the way we do, just like we can't see things the way he does but there are certain topics that involves humanity and when those topics come, we should join hands to fight against whatever wrong.

Intentions would definitely defer. You do it for Christ and may be he does it because of his conviction but the melting point is that we do it for the greater good.

Yes my brother. You're right in the above but what 'he' does often is on the attack against our belief and yet 'he' doesn't believe in our God. You must be very smart to deal with 'him'. 'He' is always on the attack to look to holes within our faith so 'he' can use as an opportunity to cast the stones at us. 'He' does that, not in the spirit of tolerance or correction but as a way of bring us down that 'he' might make a name for 'himself' - this is evident in most of 'his' thread all over this forum.

The truth is, we Christians should be left alone by those who don't share same faith and believe with us to deal with our own issues. We should be left alone by those who do not believe in our God to clean our own house or put our house in order. Again, 'that' young man needs to give his life a meaning - there's dignity in labour that is wise.

You cannot solve a 'set' theoretical equation when an action of a 'sub-set' is taken out of the 'universal set'. Do you say the whole of Nigerian Muslims are bad because a 'sect' called Boko Haram bomb places and people? The same way, you cannot jump on conclusion on the 'whole' Nigerian Christian when an action is done by a sub-set because SOMEBODY HAS ISSUES AND HE THINKS HE CAN BRING CHRISTIANITY DOWN.
