He is an asset or spy!!!! plain and simple.Who is he gisting with? You would notice his comments, they present an assessment. As presented in a report format for use.He is reporting what he has gathered. That assumes he is supplying critical information you and i have no access to.Also such information is strictly government details, classified before the advent of FOI bill.
He is sharing government information with a foreign interest. That makes him a spy. Also the US dispatch emphasizing  on protecting the person suggest his relevance and cooperation to there interest or the dispatch is classified by the US agent in Nigeria to others not cleared(approved) for such information. Also to attach significance to it as received by the US gov.Why do that if it is not important to them. The message and person are valid USA asset in information gathering.
IF you notice other post as exposed by wikileak. The USA ambassadors are inquiring from FGN post holding officers to possibly draw assessments on different issues. That man Sule is definitely ranting us out and reporting to his principle(US CIA controller).QED!!!!
If only the SSS are effective this information being collected should matter to them and they should start monitoring such people in this country.Atleast Wikileak has saved them the stress of choosing suspects from millions to eve-drop.Monitor them.I am sure they exchange information.Meaning report and be directed.when US direct such agents against our interest we should be concerned.Especially with the 2015 deadline.
Atleast even USA and Israel still spy on each other and arrest spies in both countries.Your interest most always come first and be protected.

Below is a report released recently by Wikileaks concerning United States of America [USA]‘s data gathering operations in Nigeria through its local spies planted/stationed around the Nigerian presidency.
The report exposes, the former Nigerian Ambassador to the United Nations, Maitama Sule as a USA spy.
Read the secret wire report to the USA - of Maitama Sule’s supplied information.

NIGERIA: NORTHERN SUPPORT FOR YAR’ADUA WANING, THOUGH TEMPERED BY FEAR
SUMMARY:

Maitama Sule (strictly protect), former Nigerian ambassador to the United Nations (1979-1983) and confidant of President Umaru Yar’Adua, averred that the northern political elite is increasingly apprehensive about Yar’Adua’s health and his capacity to continue to govern, and
is fearful the North may lose the presidency to the South if Yar’Adua dies, although we note that there are other factors at play on this issue besides Yar’Adua’s health, particularly if the Supreme Court calls for a new election.
While Sule believes that President’s performance during his first year in office has suffered due to his ailing health, he assessed Yar’Adua has succeeded in disentangling and distancing himself from former President Obasanjo. Sule informed that Yar’Adua wants to further reduce Obasanjo’s influence both within the Villa and the National Assembly. Consequently, Sule remarked, Yar’Adua intends to replace current Chief of Staff, and Obasanjo-loyalist, Abdullahi Mohammed. (Nigerian press reported May 30 that Mohammed has resigned, and will officially vacate office June 2.)
Sule confided that some influential northerners are currently pressuring former National Security Adviser, Aliyu Muhammad Gusau, to consider taking over as Chief of Staff.
Also, Sule alleged that Obasanjo is working to bribe the Supreme Court to overturn President Yar’Adua’s April 2007 election. While claiming
that First Lady Turai Yar’Adua is heavily involved in corrupt activities, Sule insisted that President Yar’Adua is committed to remaining personally untainted by corruption.
To that end, Sule asserted, President Yar’Adua recently turned down $60 million, which had been offered to him as the President’s personal “share” of Nigeria’s monthly oil earnings. Although Yar’Adua, according to Sule, allegedly ordered his “share” to be deposited into the nation’s treasury, Sule also said First Lady Turai pocketed $60 million while Senate President David Mark and House Speaker Dimeji Bankole each pocketed $30 million. We still contend however, that it is impossible for Yar’Adua not to know about his wife’s illicit activity even if he is not personally accepting bribes or engaging in such activity. END SUMMARY.
¶2. (S//NF) Maitama Sule (strictly protect), former Nigerian ambassador to the United Nations (1979-1983) and well-known confidant of President Umaru Yar’Adua spoke with PolOff at his Kano residence May 15 (see Ref A for Sule biographical information). Sule lamented the northern political elite remains increasingly apprehensive about Yar’Adua’s health.
Whereas earlier health-related predictions of Yar’Adua’s prognosis had been relatively positive, current estimates, Sule observed, paint a somber picture of the President’s strength, and consequently, his capacity to continue to govern. With the prospect of Yar’Adua’s death while still in
office figuring prominently in the minds of many in the North, Sule remarked that the North fears it may inadvertently forfeit its turn to hold the presidency. Such an eventuality, Sule bemoaned, would impair the North’s ability to retain influence and help chart a more positive course for northerners, especially after eight years of what northerners deem Obasanjo’s injurious influence on the North.

Boko Haram: Arewa, Ijaw leaders to meet •Anger, fears of the North • Arrest anti-Jonathan Northerners —CAN • The General Gusau link

| Print | E-mail

Written by Olawale Rasheed and Hassan Ibrahim Sunday, 04 September 2011

As more facts emerge over the Boko Haram insurgence, there are moves by leaders from the Northern and Southern parts of the country to meet to resolve the political angles to the ravaging militancy.

Sunday Tribune was reliably informed that the planned meeting was designed to address the political sides of the conflicts, even as investigations have revealed the three main fears of the North over the Jonathan Presidency that may be creating safe haven for the Islamists among Northerners.

The Presidency had earlier discovered that the insurgence had a political undertone with some disaffected Arewa chieftains alleged to be behind the sect in the bid to hit back at President Goodluck Jonathan over the controversy that heralded the last presidential poll.

While there was no direct evidence of involvement of President Jonathan in the planned parley, Sunday Tribune learnt that many Niger Delta elders very close to the president are involved with the main purpose of rebuilding confidence between the president‘s home base and the core North.

A prominent elder, who was involved in the organisation of the interaction, told Sunday Tribune that “we intend to rebuild lost confidence and forge ahead for mutually beneficial future. The Ijaw and the core North are traditional allies, right from the First Republic. We intend to look at where mistakes are made and make corrections.

“We have made contact with our brothers in the North and we are getting favourable feedback. Some disaffected politicians are backing the Boko Haram. We think we can ensure reconciliation and rapprochement,” the source that is from Bayelsa State told our reporter.

Findings showed further that though, foremost Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, is not spearheading the move, many old hands from the Niger Delta who were active players in the defunct New Nigeria Alliance (NNA) and the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) are already contacting their colleagues from Kano, Sokoto, Borno, Bauchi and other areas of the North for participation in the political reconciliation moves.

A top administration official who was asked about the reported consultation told Sunday Tribune that, “President Jonathan is the president of the whole of Nigeria and would, therefore, support any well-intentioned moves to restore peace and speed up the transformation of the country.

“Mr. President is not opposed to any genuine moves for the progress of the country. He has welcomed all citizens to contribute their quota to the resolution of the crisis. So, the political move is a welcome development,“ the official, who sought anonymity because he was not authorised to speak, said.

General Gusau‘s Involvement
Further investigations, however, revealed that contact with the former National Security Adviser, General Aliu Gusau, was real and that the involvement of the general, reputed for the depth of his intelligence politics, was part of the holistic strategy to stem the tide of the islamist insurrection.

General Gusau was said to be a favourite pick, not only because of his intelligence background, but also as a way of exploiting his no love lost relationship with some Generals who are suspected of having cold relationship with the administration.

Sunday Tribune reliably learnt that the Zamfara-born General was involved in the move to address the political side of the conflict, in addition to his expected role in tackling the security menace posed by Boko Haram.

Anger, fears of North
Meanwhile, Sunday Tribune investigations have unravelled the three main angers and fears of the core North, beyond the breach of the zoning formula of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last poll.

From Sokoto to Maiduguri, findings showed that the North is said to believe that the present administration has a succession plan that may not be in the best interest of the North, an unsubstantiated feeling that is reportedly fuelling perceived unhappiness with the Jonathan Presidency in the core North.

“When the zoning formula was breached, there was no dialogue; no negotiation with the North. The G20 which surrounded the President from the North then are not genuine leaders of the people. So, by the last election, there was no agreement with the North as to what happens in 2015,“ a prominent Northern leader recently explained.

Investigations also showed that the anger and fears of the North are three, all centering on what happens to the Presidency when it comes up for grab again in 2015.

The first fear of the North, according to Sunday Tribune findings, was the actual intention of President Jonathan as to whether he will vie for second term or not. This is in spite of the president‘s declaration that he would not seek a second term in office.

A Niger Delta politician on Friday pointedly put it this way: “The North is afraid of what Jonathan will do in 2015. They are not sure whether the man will wake up and announce his intention to run for second term to complete his transformation agenda.“

The second fear, according to findings, is whether there is truly an alleged pact between the South-East and the president, preceding the last presidential poll, which resulted in over 90 per cent vote delivered to the ruling party.

Even when administration officials denounced and denied such pact, the rumour mill in the North still believe there is an agreement for an Igbo to succeed the president come 2015.

If the administration supports the return of the Presidency to the North in 2015, there is also the fear that either Vice President Namadi Sambo or Senate President David Mark may be the favourite of the incumbent president, a possibility the core North is said to be opposed to.

The North was reported to have vowed never to allow Southerners to decide again who, from the North, would occupy the Presidency as was done in 2007 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

It would be recalled that General Obasanjo single-handedly annointed the late President Umaru Yar‘Adua in 2007.

Sunday Tribune was told that unless there is a concerted move to build confidence and allay the fear of the North, the present administration may continue to be held with suspicion by disaffected Arewa leaders.

Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital territory (FCT), Abuja, at the weekend, urged the Federal Government to arrest the Northern political leaders who were reported to have threatened to make Nigeria ungovernable, if President Jonathan won last April presidential election.

The Secretary General of Northern CAN, Elder Saidu Dogo, said in an interview in Kaduna that the outcome of the 2011presidential election, which happened to be at the heat of the controversy on zoning, might have instigated the current insecurity in the country.

According to him, President Jonathan should investigate those believed to have made treasonable statements before the presidential election was conducted.

“The truth is this, there are insinuations before the presidential election took place and there were newspapers quoting where individuals, particularly leaders in the North made statements that if Jonathan came to power, they would make the country ungovernable for him.

“Unfortunately, such people are going freely in this country today. And, of course, they are making the whole thing (country) ungovernable for him. The threat is now being put to practice and they have not been arrested. They are roaming the streets, most of them are from the North, who threatened that if Jonathan won the election, they would make Nigeria ungovernable for him.

“Such people are supposed to be called to divest themselves from those statements. Up till now, they have not denied those statements; so, they have a case to answer. And since they have not denied making such statements in the past, they should be held culpable until otherwise, the investigation into the issue prove them innocent. Otherwise, the evidences are there,” he said.

Dantata warns economy sliding as ACF blames Northern governors for poverty

[Aminu Dantata]

The leadership of the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has come under scathing criticism for its failure to square up to the problems confronting Nigeria ’s northern region.

The forum is facing frontal attacks from analysts and chieftains of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) which represent the interest of the north, for its aloofness on critical issues which have bogged down the northern states, especially in the past past few years.

In like manner, Aminu Dantata, one of the foremost entrepreneurs in the country, has expressed concern about the failure of on-going policies initiated by the Federal Government, to improve the economy.

Dantata warned that if the current development was allowed to continue unabated, the nation could find it difficult to achieve the goals of its new economic development programme- the Vision2020:20.

He also pointed at the deplorable state of the nation `s infrastructure, including roads and power supply, saying they were crippling existing businesses and discouraging upstarts.

Speaking at the 39th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Northern Nigeria Flour Mill Plc, held in Kano, on Tuesday, Dantata noted that these developments were compounding the cost of doing business in the country.

Dantata, who is the chairman of the company, also observed that the continuing fall in equity prices on the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE), was cause for concern.

“There are fears that the market performance may remain dismal while investors appear to adopt a ‘wait and see approach’ as the rate of uncertainty is becoming high.

It was gathered that since the Northern Governors Forum organised the Northern Agricultural and Educational Summits, nothing has been heard about them and there have been no concrete steps taken so far, to show that the northern governors were indeed serious about the issues raised.

Northern leaders have continued to express concern over the deplorable living conditions of northerners and the worsening poverty level in the region.

They contend that political leaders in the region have to take urgent steps to address the poverty situation, stressing that the growing levels of unemployment and closure of industries in the region, could portend grave dangers, before long.

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, at a round table discussion organised recently by the Kaduna State branch of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) cautioned that urgent steps have to be taken by those in authority to address the problems of insecurity in the north.

Makarfi insisted that the post- election violence was triggered by a number of factors, chief among which were leadership failure, ethno-religious disharmony, closure of industries, misuse of political power, injustice and lack of confidence in the way the business of governance was being conducted in recent times.

Aliyu Mohammed, a chieftain of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) told Businessday in Kaduna , that the present crop of northern leaders had failed the people, as a result of their purported incompetence and inability to harness the human and natural resources in the region, for the good of the people.

He cited the unpalatable predicament of the New Nigerian Newspapers, the Kaduna Textile Company Limited, KTL, and the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) as examples, saying northern leaders had killed the dreams of the late Northern Region premier, Ahmadu Bello, to empower his people, side by side with their counterparts in the southern states.

Aliyu particularlly criticised the governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, for his purported lack of focus and inability to bring the northern governors togerther to address the problems facing the region.

He regretted that the governors had become largely individualistic in their approach to issues that touched on northern interests, regretting that they behaved as if the people no longer had a common bond.

Other stakeholders condemned the way the northern governors purportedly abandoned their pledge to bail the NNDC out of the doldrums, by failing to raise the sum of N250 million each, for its re-capitalisation.

It was gathered that no state had given any money to the NNDC as its contribution up till now.

They also condemned the pitiable condition of the New Nigerian Newspapers, which has been operating under harsh conditions for the past 15 years, with a backlog of unpaid gratuities and pensions of its retirees.

Analysts said the continued closure of industries in the region, along with the growing insecurity, had worsened the situation, leading to unprecedented movement of people and businesses, away from the northern states.

The failure of the northern governors to also come down hard on the Boko Haram group which has been claiming responsibility for the series of bomb blasts across the northern states, also creates an impression that the governors have adopted a passive approach to the matter, leaving the landscape to religious leaders to feast on, it was said.

joskid:
Who are you to say about the state of the State's economy? Only very few people have legitimate CofO's anyway. And no project is too huge an undertaking. I know places with far less but will even tax anything they eat just to get the job done. Christian lady disturb Muslim prayers? Hilarious! So according to Islam that is a death sentence, along with the Igbo man who tried to help her? Any person even students in Unijos will feel safe in Christian areas. Last time I heard, muslim okada riders took poor innocent students during the Post Jamb exercise to be killed by hoodlums there. Everybody knows the muslim areas are far from safe. Now since the cattle people claim to be all over West Africa and have a large playground to roam around, why attack innocent farmers in their own ancestral lands and destroy their crops? Is it by force? Truth is, nobody wants you. Even in the wider context of Nigeria, you have been a source of irritation. I think there is so far you can get before the inevitable happens anyway. And yes, I have noticed some of your misinformation. You don't live in Jos and so rely on rumors. (tell me more or ask me more)
I wish i could tell you where i reside but people like you would simply come and wipe my family in the name of what your goons tell you.Without doubt Jang brought same idea to demolish houses in Jos and focused the actions in Jos north and not other slums outside the Muslims areas.I know more than you think and Jos is full of deceit.I have being in Jos since 1988 and have seen her grow with the same Hausa community and sink due to deceit meant to fuel this crisis. You can pretend all you want but the truth is clear.JAMB students only.In Bukuru alot of Muslim Okada riders had gone missing. How about the secret killings along Riyom of long distant travellers who hardly give a crap about your state. That aside remember the 8 muslim youths coming back from a wedding slaughter and buried simply because they were passing through Berom areas. For your information i am in tune with your crap.Got a family and because its mixed i just know what both sides do and discuss.
Sentiments blind people but some people still speak the truth. The game pLan is and remains driving the Muslims and Hausas out of Jos economically and violently. It will not work period.Dream all you want. From my house i see Dariye(who lives close to TCNN and jogs in the morning up the RCC built dam and I also know DU where Jang lives more than you can imagine.I have lived and schooled in Jos.Only left Jos for university and alwasy come back to my family living in Jos.Jang is a Humble man until his true tribalism took hold of him with power(aka berom agenda). You can't take that away. All the Xtians support him but even behind they got tribalism issues and inter clan problems with him.Think Du-york city cheesy cheesy cheesy
About the lady, incident happened during dariye along your famous Burkutu hot spot of congo-russia.All official confirmation of the attacks indicate she started it. for a mosque and juma'at service that has gone on since 1984 in the same venue yet she claims she didn't know and she is very much alive and kicking. She left the scene un-harmed yet came back with armed berom militia to attack muslims praying.okay how about the issue that a man came to rebuild his house and your extremist brothers decide to start a revolt.
Its Glaring and fact. What people basically do is take the story from the point they were affected to change the issue and justify there actions.Even JAng has said that he has grown with the Fulani in part and knows them around.Over 50 years yet people like you just notice there cattle disturb farmers.Don't they have similar problems with other Hausa communities too?If you want i can site some instances for you.I also remember the story of the young berom boy who had a home in a Muslim family yet was told to lead them there and set it on fire, under the instructions of the berom his kinsmen.
The problem is propagated at the surface to look justified. The under tone is genocidal in nature.Stop using that fake story of developing Jos.I remember the state assembly had once informed him that his move is unwarranted and untimely. The priority on this is ill conceived. He could develop the remote areas and later tackle this issue when people have fully kicked start there lives.Normalcy has being restored.

Well last i went there the military outfit sent under the STF have a number of vehicles provided to them for the security of the state.I don't know who supplied them.State or federal i don't know huh huh huh huh. While arriving the state saw new ones being transported into the state without plates. The problem is enormous and the challenge tasking.I don't know what Jang is doing but surely the solution hardly is patrol vehicles or Jang himself. It is more of people significantly brainwashed and made to be killers and wicked.
You see Jos is not having same BH treat as the other states BH rares it head.Since December 2010 BH after the xmas bombing have stayed away. The crisis is more of a significant number of people being armed and posing security treat. You can't provide security to all where they don't want it and prefer to be allowed to kill people. The security works in hand with the people.
This is my little assumption. For every Xtian and Muslim that reside in Jos,Allow him or her 3 months if he or her doesn't bail to avoid being an extremist then certainly the person has gone extreme.
I doubt if the SSS infiltrate religious places or groups/Joints/gathering in JOS to listen to the hate doctrine pumped and how hate is sold and thought. They may say peace is coming but not until people start to see real instigators go down in chains. The Jos you know is a training camp for all fanatics and extremist. If you meet a Jos Muslims or xtian. The tolerance is near zero and the hate is significant you could sense it all around them.

Let me tell you the difference between animals(Hausa Fulani) and Ndigbo: There is no way I will not be a commander or at least a unit leader if the secession war commence because of my physical commitment. This is how the war will be in delta south and central: Ndigbo will remain where they are living their lives freely and happily without selling any of their properties. We will provide security for ndibgo in our territory but any thing that resembles Hausa Fulany that we find in the line of our fire will go down. Even goat with long bears will not be spared. ^^^ Jang loving brother. With what revenue and what resources would you compensate people. You have a state that is upside down and economically not sound and alot of unemployed and homeless people.Provide security to all and Jobs then with time you can talk of implement such huge projects.
Having state police would simply encourage genocide and cover ups period.Even the present security is compromised. You have several situations during Onovo as IGP transferring police from the state simply because the indigents in the force shot and killed the Hausas in there homes and also deceived the Hausas to stay in doors while they secretly allow the indigents infiltrate there communities to burn there houses. If they come out to defend they attack them in the name of quelling the crisis.Today both sides are skeptical of one force or the other.the blend of fed. force is what keeps security above the level of bias.
State Police is supported but not in this current time.Lastly who started really?Don't forget it started after a christian lady went to disturb a Muslim prayer and later her kinsmen came to attack the worshipers afterwards resulting in the fracas that issued.During Dariyes government. So stop lying about the cause. For months now Jos has had peace until the same xtians strangled a door repair man and an okada rider around same rukuba areas. The victims all Muslim and Hausas. Also they went on to seize around a 150 cattle and kill 3 herds men in Heipang and refuse to return the stolen cattle until the fulanis attacked them. They called for dialogue. They berom/Christian youths always start it and use the media to justify there actions as defense.Even the governor seem to be tired and has lost control the useless youths he once controlled. As they even accuse him.because he simply is being fair and asking for a probe of there actions in rukuba and environs.

We obviously see this issue from different perspective. I for one, I'm not pro_Nigeria and don't see the North as a threat. I however see the ibos as a threat in my region and look at them as the enemy so you see, we can't fight a common cause. The West is still predominantly muslims although we live harmoniously with other religions but to say because we have xtians in our midst equate to having more in common with the East not totally true. We also share some similarities with the North, heck! We even have our people in the North (ie Kwara and Kogi).

Bottomline is that there is no south and we don't have a common enemy! It is also worth noting that the north so far are only bombing themselves so why bother?
^^^^Couldn't have being more realistic. Why make an enemy of a neighbor when you could ordinary look for common interest in the future as separate countries. That brings me to my favorite conclusion. The Yorubas have always being the best.During the war, before the war and in democracy.they just know how to play the "no permanent foe or friend" concept. When they need what they want, they know just go to liase with any section of the country to do that. They are friends and foes to every region and still keep a diverse religious group harmonious society than any other.
On the other hand the Igbos and ND pick a foe and choose not to in anyway dialogue. They want to hide behind a front to give them the numbers to treaten the North as there permanent enemy.funny goons. We see what you do and we think to.while you keep planning we also are ready. You can't retaliate the civil war cos your people caused it period. They got mostly what they deserve. While i despise the killings of your civilian populace in the north.I also condemn such and sympathies with the families that grief.I believe strongly in meeting violence with violence if  such reaches my door steps. But attacking the innocent, i will never hope to be a part or witness to.

isleman:
I believe the south still share a lot in common. Christianity joins east and west together and also with south. besides, if the south disintegrate further, it will become very weak to oppose any northern threat.
^^^ you see while the SE,SS use religion to decide friends and foes. The Yoruba priority is tribe and then maybe religion.Thats why they have more peace than any region.Lastly they are not fools. Why fight someone if you could have better ways to go about it without a war.The SS and SE believe beating the drums of war always treatens anybody.Until you try it first before you know better.

Desola:
Exsqeeze me pls! There is no north and south! There is North, East and West! If he creates Northern Nigeria, then he must create Eastern and Western Nigeria and perhaps Niger Delta!

Me I no fit live with Okoro in another marriage of the South o. Make we all head to our tent o, ehen!
Abi!!!! Even in the North things may turn out different. At the end i would prefer if we go that way let it be for a stronger and united people like the SW.

They have helped them smuggle arms and even MEND has severally suggested they have people in the security apparatus leaking key government policy on security to them.Same reason, tribe/town and religion bind them.Atleast an Igbo man caught smuggling arms and detained in 82 div Enugu had claimed he was working to promote the MASSOB cause. The Mopol caught arming the militants in the ND claimed to be working for both money and his kinsmen.Na today. undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Who should know better than the pioneer founding fathers of MEND.Atleast they know how and why they formed MEND.Its there common type of sense they are trying to transfer to meet there kinda view.
Even the Northern elites are weary and scared. They may have kept quiet not because they support them but probably because they have little vested interest in the current government too. They don't care since if they mind there own no harm will come to them both ways. Its more like i don't sponsor and support.Let me be.The more reason it is possible to tackle the situation. If all can be brought on board, not just the constant blaming of the north for everything.Demonizing all that is north,as if nothing bad exist in the south. When i say bring on board i mean pal together to up root the treat since it could be there common foe.I think if the elites support the group then this would have being child's play. The elite doesn't care that's all.Even at that is just some of them not all.I know alot of them are paddy paddy with GEJ and have no cause to worry or report his detractors to him straight up.That is if such significant support exist
I doubt if BH is political.Call it fanatically religious.Al-qaida has always had a crush for Nigeria. We also have extremists and a disgruntled sect in boko haram with strong ideology and a quest to cause mayhem.Such reasons are good qualities for recruitment.

Don't mind those Hausa/Fulani war mongers.
Keep talking crap!!! How many times has sabo-gari being invade?I mean without the occupants repel such invasion!Same is what is happening in Jos.Your fellow berom militia(aka Xtian youths) try to over run Muslim dominated areas. Not that the muslims try to invade your zones.they more often than not try to over run areas that have Muslims. The smaller muslim communities you have succeeded in doing so.What is left is the densely concentrated muslim zones which you can do anything about.communities Like kuru karama,Tim Tim,heipang etc Kuru karama was a genocide.confirmed!!!
If you look at the pattern the fighting are along border areas mainly surrounding the Muslim communities. They always gang up from several berom communities and sometimes include Igbo warriors to unleash attacks.the question always, where is the security? that such a number can mass up and transport themselves to Muslim areas to attack them.It is only when the carnage has started that you see them sometimes coming to shoot at people who are forced to defend themselves.
The fulanis have developed the condemnable method of continued raids on the berom since they hardly have a definite location and are mingled with the berom communities. The beroms have always attacked them and the community heads would pretend they don't know. When the fulanis mobilize and hit them back they call a gathering to discuss and prefer peace. after a little while they again kill another innocent fulani for there cattles. So the circle continues.Between the fulani and the beroms. If we are since go and find out about any Fulani attack you would find a prior attack on them that has led to such.Usually after they have exausted all means including traditional rulers of the beroms and law enforcers. Some would say its just cattle? You need to now they usually in most case kill the herder.

Why are people bringing God and Allah into this matter - they are just watching like the good bystanders they are, the instrument of their wrath (Boko-Haram) is gladly going to work and doing it well. It is time Nigerians start working with their heads rather than their sentiments. Do 30-40 armed men just disappear into the local community and no one knows who they are  shocked A large proportion of Muslims support the activities of Boko-Haram by their in-action and silence. The root of Sharia is watered by the violence of religious intolerance. I t has always been the case everywhere Religious Terrorism is rife.
Not if you know talking amounts to Nigeria government exposing you and your family to greater risk. Why?When even the government takes part in the killing of her people that need security and the intimidation/victimization of the good samaritan.
It is not just about boko haram.Look around you and see the ills around you and tell me how many you have reported to the EFCC,Ministry of Health,NAFDAC,Police,NDLEA,Customs,Army or Immigrations? All Nigerians condone criminality from the smallest level to the highest which is corruption. They simply walk away or just take part period. We are all liable.A stitch in time saves nine.We ignore one and alot more springs up.Coupled with the fact that now we have people who decide to act or do what is right based on sentiments.

Back to Jos,It was planned before now and the christian youths had made there minds to disrupt the festivity.Lets not beat about the bush.over a week now the story had being going round and i for one had felt its mere rumours until they attacked the Muslim worshippers. They had being circulating information for the christians to attack muslims during the EId day to cause problems and also replicate the Xmas eve bombing.
I have being in town and all was peacfull except for when the Eid came. They know and it is co-ordinated.The killings have leaders and master minds.Around bukuru the berom youths have repeatedly tried to attack Muslim communities even yesterday night.Around Zawan they have succeeded in Burning a trailer.People coming here to justify one action over the other simply want it to rage on.Violence must be condemn regardless of the perpetrators.Where you see no reason to blame a killer or murderer simply because he is your kins man or fellow worship means ill for the nation and prelude to the total collapse to sanity, justuce and peace.
The beroms are the main instigators here or christian youths.Even where after the xmas eve bombing alot of muslim leaders especially the same Izala sect leader who publicly condemn the action of Boko haram on that occasion. The same leader who woke up to also find bomb in his compund that failed to go off or cause harm.secondly after the bombing immediately the youths went on a killing spree to retaliate.around dogon karfe,Abbator and anguwan rukuba.Killing Muslims. So if you had carried out such an attack, why still repeat it now to justify the past.If not that you don't mean well and encourage a fraudulent peace.I was in town during the eve and no one should tell me.Because i know.

The Lord's Resistance Army (also Lord's Resistance Movement or Lakwena Part Two) is a sectarian religious and military group who operated in northern Uganda and Southern Sudan.

The group was formed in 1987 and until about 2007 it was engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government. It is led by Joseph Kony, who proclaims himself the "spokesperson" of God and a spirit medium, primarily of the Holy Spirit, which the group believe can represent itself in many manifestations.[3]

The group is based on apocalyptic Christianity,[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] but also is influenced[11] by a blend of mysticism[12] and traditional religion,[13] and claims to be establishing a theocratic state based on the Ten Commandments and local Acholi tradition.[3][14][15]

The LRA is accused of widespread human rights violations, including murder, abduction, mutilation, sexual enslavement of women and children and forcing children to participate in hostilities.[16]

The LRA used to operate mainly in northern Uganda and also in parts of South Sudan, Central African Republic and DR Congo.[17][18] The LRA is currently proscribed as a terrorist organization by the United States.[19][20]

@POTUT

Keep your eyes on the point. MEND, OPC, Bakkasi have all participated in some form of terror or the other, however, none of these have associated their acts with the Bible or any religious text whatsoever. None of them has ever claimed they want to pursue  some narrow-minded religious agenda.

It is only terrorists with a link to Islam that seek to pursue a religious agenda in their acts and pronouncements. The IRA in their fight with the English never mentioned the Bible in their acts.

Keep checking the facts, its consistent.

^^^Read this link and then lets put his behind us and prefer a solution.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_terrorism.Its updated with the Norway extremist too.

Lastly it is not a contest about who is better but about a criminal group attacking a nation and its people.we have to work together regardless and see this comes to an end. While you attack or bash Islam in general you only make the Muslims who really feel it is not good or feel they would want to assist with what ever they can to help make it end, feel victimized over issues they had no part in.Always think about the bulk that still has not a thing to do with this and could be a victim. If you can tell me all victims were xtians then i would suggest a grand scheme else let it rest.   undecided undecided undecided undecided

Human Rights Watch slams EFCC in new report

The biggest problem facing the fight against corruption in Nigeria is its political system, which inherently rewards corruption, says a report of the Human Rights Watch, released in Lagos yesterday.

"Too often, corruption is a prerequisite for success in Nigeria's warped political process," says the report titled, ‘Corruption on Trial? The Record of Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.'

In writing the report, HRW analysed EFCC's records since inception, examined court record in major corruption cases, interviewed EFCC's current and former leaders, other anticorruption agency officials, members of the National Assembly and judiciary, Central Bank officials, prosecutors and defense lawyers, foreign diplomats and donor agency officials, and civil society leaders.

The report's cover page picture - that of Olabode George, former Chairman of Nigerian Ports Authority and Southwest chairman of the People's Democratic Party, while celebrating during the heroic welcome he got after being released from prison - presents a strong picture of how the country's political establishment is all too ready to embrace convicted criminals.

Another critical example cited in the report was that of President Jonathan and late President Yar'Adua campaigning openly in May 2008 alongside former Bayelsa State governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, just ten months after being convicted of corruption charges.

"These images of senior government officials embracing convicted criminals only served to reinforce the broader trend of impunity that these convictions were meant to push back against," says the report.

In a press release accompanying the report, HRW cautioned President Jonathan to "refrain from political interference in Nigeria's key anticorruption agencies' work."

The press statement quoted Daniel Bekele, HRW's Africa Director as saying that "there were high hopes for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as Nigeria's most promising effort to tackle corruption since the end of military rule. But its efforts have fallen short because of political interference, institutional weakness, and inefficiency in the judiciary that cannot be ignored."

A troubled agency

The analyses show much of the cases instituted by the EFCC "have generated more headlines than convictions, and neither Ribadu nor Waziri can claim more than a handful of concrete successes."

"According to Waziri, since inception in 2003, the agency has recovered over $11bn - of which some $6.5bn has been recovered since Waziri took office in June 2008, most of which was recovered in the Central Bank's overhaul of the banking sector," the report says.

The records of prosecution done by EFCC reveal that Ribadu made public prosecution, especially that of prominent public officials, his thrust while Waziri, looks away from public prosecution, focusing instead on the private sector.

HRW argues that "the most important measure of Nigeria's anticorruption record is its success or failure in prosecuting corrupt nationally prominent political figures.

"EFCC's public challenge to the impunity enjoyed by abusive members of Nigeria's political elite has been its most important accomplishment in the fight against corruption.

"Only by holding prominent officials to account for corruption can Nigeria's government show that corruption would not be tolerated, and discourage officials at all levels from stealing public funds the country needs to provide for basic needs," it says in the report.

However, prosecution of notable public figures has been on the decline since Waziri took over at EFCC. The report said much of the investigation and other legwork for some of Waziri's initial prosecutions were done before she took the helm.

"There has been a significant drop in the number of new cases after those initial prosecutions," it says.

The report also noted that EFCC's funding has tripled since 2007 - its annual budget grew from approximately $23m in 2007 to $60m in 2010, without a commensurate increase in the rate of new prosecutions.

HRW recommends that "President Jonathan should break from the bad practices of past administrations, publicly signal he will not perpetrate or tolerate interference in corruption cases, and grant the chairperson security of tenure by amending the legislation that created the commission."

That is the irony of life in Nigeria.Other minorities making noise only do so when dey feel as minority.Otherwise they become another opressive majority. It's in us and we should not dodge it.
The Same with the TIVs,Kanuris,Ijaws,Yorubas,Beroms and co.Go to the states and see how this tribes keep the others to the background.yet people only see the trio(Yoruba,Igbos and Hausa/fulani) at national level.when even they(major minorities) barely set a good example.I have come to a conclusion especially at state levels to rotate powers.
It may look as if people are happily living together until crisis breakout over the issue. So why not make it acceptable to all to forestall violence and preventing breeding of bad blood later into the minority and majority thing.A sense of belonging to all that matter. That alone can grantee alot of peace and harmony. undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

Look did the NJC meet, the answer is no. Justice Mustapher and some northern members of the NJC does not mean the NJC had a meeting. No document was send to the members of NJC. The Nigeria bar association did not attended because they did not know.

How many members of the NJC took the decision. Not even 2/3 of the NJC. Even the said Chief Justice did not attended.  When did the constitution of Nigeria state that Justice Mustapher is now NJC.  Mustapher and his cabal do not constitute as NJC meeting.

2 You can not ask Junior Judge to determine a case of a senior Judge. Only SAN or senior lawyers can do that. But the people who did are young northerner lawyer.

So if only northern members of the NJC meet. do you expect anyone to agree with the decision.

The issue is Jonathan Goodluck is been silly. He does not know that Justice Katsina alu and the Northerners in the NJC are only setting up for impeachment.  Nigeria laws state that if a case is in court, you cant suspend or fire the person. Justice Katsina alu knows this. All they are doing is using the law as northerners to impeach Jonathan Goodluck.
