So lets see as it progress. They only call middle belt as usual to gain cheap popularity amongst the minority.I am a minority and i don't see how that so called name that is already bias applies to me. "Akhwat Akwop " what does it mean to all the minorities?strange name with a xtian agenda. So how do we get along.I was hoping they would come up with a name befitting all the Arewa minority interest groups.I can bet you with that name they are mostly in Kaduna south & Plateau.Suspect kaduna south mostly. Hold Elite Responsible For Nigeria’s Woes — Buhari Jacob Okereke's picture Tue, 27/09/2011 - 1:43am | CHUKS OHUEGBE Cover Stories News Former head of state and presidential flag-bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the April general election General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has attributed the country’s current woes to the elite who, he said, should be held responsible for whatever goes wrong. Speaking yesterday in Abuja at a one-day conference on “Development from Global Perspectives: Agriculture Versus Oil and Gas” organised by Muregi Associates and the LEADERSHIP Newspaper Group, Buhari said that strong institutions in the country have been destroyed by strong people. He said: “Nothing is working in Nigeria today because of irresponsible elite. We have to talk to the elite. They are responsible for the sharing of the national cake. If anything happens they are to be held responsible. “It was the strong people that destroyed the strong institutions we inherited from the British. They left us with accountability. We need strong people to retake these institutions to make them work.” In his remarks on the occasion, the minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said that military intrusion into the nation’s governance in 1966 destroyed the emergence of a national elite. “In Nigeria, people believe more in the regions, instead of the centre. We need a new movement for the integration of the country,” the Information minister said. On the belief that Nigerians are corrupt, the minister said that there is a co-relation between the so-called corrupt Nigerians and the trans-Atlantic companies that aid the act. Corroborating the views of the minister, one-time national chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh, said that some expatriate companies operating in the country aided corruption. Ogbeh cited the construction of the second runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja that was quoted to cost N64 billion by an expatriate construction company, an amount that could build four brand new airports. “So, when we are called corrupt, we accept guilty as charged. How about those who aid this corruption?” Ogbeh queried. In his lead paper entitled “Corruption, Governance and Development”, Professor Francis Fukuyama identified weak state, high degree of ethnic/ religious fragmentation and petro-state liabilities as the sources of Nigeria’s institutional underperformance. Fukuyama, who lectures at the Centre on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at the Stanford University, California, in the United States of America, also described Nigeria as a “limited access order” as politics is a route to wealth instead of entrepreneurship. He said that there is the need to diversify from energy, noting that oil has been a curse. A panacea, according to him, is investing in electricity and infrastructure. Fukuyama, the renowned author of The End of History and the last man, said that the accounting system requires transparency and disciplining mechanisms and the need to implement Freedom of Information law. He added that agencies should publish flow of funds on a monthly basis, while grassroots monitoring should be a possibility through technology. In his paper entitled “Agriculture and oil and gas: A synergy for economic transformation in Nigeria”, Chief Audu Ogbeh said that the country failed to use the black gold to develop the green gold, namely, agriculture “So, we turn to imports, which is where the calamity comes. We expend at least $10 billion on food imports annually. On wheat - $4.23 billion; rice - $2.32 billion; milk - $1.5 billion, not to mention cookies and biscuits, fruit juice concentrates, tomato paste, salt, palm oil, starch, ice cream powder, vegetable oils. The list is endless. The question is: how long can we survive this onslaught of imports?” Ogbeh asked. The occasion, also had in attendance other eminent personalities including the United Nations under-secretary, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, former vice chancellor of the University of Abuja Professor Nuhu Yaqub, former minister of FCT Dr. Modibbo Umar, and former minister of sports Barrister A. H. Gimba. |
If only the SSS was smarter they could lure them in by staging a false assassination Of Ms Ogar and then an agent claims ransom or membership of the sect and moves on to atleast win there confidence. Then hack into there financial network/sponsorship or wreck havoc from within. ![]() |
I also believe that like in JOS and Borno. The government should consider surveillance camera.I am saying this because i can assure that it would ordinarily give security materials as evidence and also help alert them of an impending attack. It is good that Abuja has gone all camera. But they should atleast place a few around the cities of Jos and Borno. For me i think it would go a long way in allowing security individually ID mob actors and trace the cause/perpetrators of the attacks. So that blames/prosecution/hunt maybe made or security officers who take part or claim ignorance/negligence can be monitored. The same should also start across all cities of Nigeria. Before any violence even steps there.Peaceful or non peaceful.Attach priority to conflict areas and gradually deploy same in peace time states as no condition is permanent. In case things ever go wrong.A few Millions if honestly put to use could deploy this equipments in key areas and areas prone to security bridge until the states of Nigeria are all covered. This could deter security personals who are on active duty from failing to act or respond to crisis promptly. Also it allows superior review of the situation for better management of the security to such security bridge in future. Government should start collation of all data they have presently and gradually review them over time and upgrade them to minimize errors and false bios of Nigerians and foreigners. For instance,Ask all Universities,Secondary schools,WAEC,NECO,Hospitals medical,FRSC,Immigration,Civil service,Armed forces,LGA staff,State Government,Primary schools,hospital,hotel,employment/appointment documents, death certificates, association data, religious movement,INEC,NCC,censors, telecoms data, political parties, bank details and marriage data etc documents and begin to build individual profile of each and every Nigerian for now and then insist on long term mandatory documentation of persons in Nigeria.Putting all this can certainly reduce the lack of human profile by atleast 60% and give a good start. That single act can provide details for government to identify people to a large extent or relate persons to something, someone or somewhere to easily track wanted persons or predict there likely actions. For me all this is do able and could be done in months.Think we have alot of IT professionals to build goods apps and deploy the needs for this.We have a large chunk of educated unemployed people.Get them working and put them on this project period.Within months you can do all the work.FG has the money. This can be done and subsequently it will only be managed over time and we do not expect another one be done again. We only then upgrade, review and add etc. |

The spate of successes recorded by the religious sect against government institutions and the office of the United Nations in Abuja has further fuelled the fear that the sect may decide to strike in other parts of the country. But the National Coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams in this interview warned that such attack on any part of Yoruba land would spell doom as OPC would not fold its hands and watch the shedding of blood of innocent Yoruba for no just cause. According to him, deities of Yoruba land don’t encourage intruders and the OPC as an organization is prepared to defend Yoruba people. When MEND attacked an oil installation in Lagos, he said, he got in touch with leaders of the Niger Delta and a meeting was held within 24 hours. Consequently, OPC reached an agreement with the leaders of MEND and there was no such attack on any part of Yoruba land again. Adams is worried that no one seems to know the identity of leaders of Boko Haram, which makes it difficult to discuss with their leaders. He is also worried that unlike other militant groups, it has not clearly stated what it stood for. He however expressed the hope that leaders of the group would read papers so that his warning can get to the sect through the media. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/politics/2011/sept/24/politics-24-09-2011-001.html[/quote]Abi,i hope no be the same deity wey pose allow one of una chieftain the chance to commit suicide in the name of bullet proof charm !!! ![]() |
Mr Mark dream all you want.We have refuse to forge and refuse to fuss not to talk of unite!!! When i think about Nigeria,I just think of how it would be better without some sections of it due to one reason or the other. So it is simple. We don't think united except for the owners of Nigeria PDP,the regional elites and religious warriors. ![]() |
Lol Can you see how that woman dey come down from the stairs? Its as if she could hardly manage her size.Abeg allow her out first.Cos GEJ took time watching her slowly come down.if he had come down first she for dey there until dey go leave am for airport.that silly position of first lady is something else in Nigeria abeg.make they scrap that thing and the first ladies most know there place. The president comes first in this case and the first lady. Also she may walk down together with him or after him (together with him is not possible, considering the woman size and the exit door of the plane size ). what ever but,not Before him.It is the president they are expecting. She is just an entourage ![]() |
Gnosticmovement:Listen to yourself and truly tell me the Militants did not kill civilians in Atlas attack,Delta state Government house bombing and Oct 1 bombing etc. Please if you choose to be bias and sit on your own hip of trash while pointing at others, keep it to yourself.Have you ever wondered that even the security men posted to guard facilities were attacked unprovoked.Abi you think they carry no blood and family. The difference between BH and MEND is nothing other than the suicide section and reason that led in starting the crisis. They gain sympathy through suggesting a battle for religion to build support same way you people say it was to establish rights over oil. What do you think before drives the reasons?popularity and mind games. What Islam would say about suicide, killing of non combatant and disrespect for authority would obvious contradict there reason to suggest Islam. So Again it is more of gaining support from around. The confused would get involved and the guys would get rich period.Today militants dey enjoy all over and have unprecedented authority to do anything and still get government to listen. Also threaten the nation and get away. |
For all the silly ND and there corrupt militias.I hope when you go there on another mans land to wage war thats has nothing to do with you,Then you should have no qualms if they also export same violence across into the ND!Did i hear you say then we would wipe all Northern people in the ND.That then gets all encompassing and surely alot more get involved in the North and puff the southerners up north get a serious taste. You see to actualize this they need to first pull out the entire southerners up north and then build a fence after ensuring every Northerner or Cell is pushed back to the north. ![]() When the ND militants had there own, remind us which group was it that went down south into the creeks to fight them?Nonsense people.Spoil corrupt kidnappers and useless minded people with zero manners.Anyway i wish them well and alot more than cheap talk.So we finally get to the bridge. ![]() If not wetin concern you with FG matter and another man state matter. Why don't you mind your own business.Abi MEND now is police and army in this country. The sad thing is where is the SSS.For someone like this to come out and threaten violating the laws of the land in the open yet nothing happens tells alot about the weakness and daftness of our security. ![]() |
^^^^ You sound confused. What of the Igbo outside the country. All across Africa and the other continents. Please spare us the bull poo.DO you mean to say the Igbos all prefer to move up North, despite the crisis. That should then prove other wise.Meaning contrary to speculations that Igbos despise the North, they love to reside in the North. Why is that so.The common saying is there is no place like home. ![]() Nonsense!!!! Anyways.Good thing we know the Igbos can't resist the North despite all there(Igbo) insults and arrogance. They just love our lands than they do there own. Except if the that population is all in the North to dominate it tactically.Which is impossible! |
Holy Land priest bless Palestinian bid for statehood Sunday, 18 September 2011 The retired Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah, was to preach in the Roman Catholic church in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. (File photo) The retired Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah, was to preach in the Roman Catholic church in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. (File photo) inShare By AFP OCCUPIED JERUSALEM Priests in the Holy Land used their sermons on Sunday to give their blessing to the Palestinians’ bid for United Nations membership. The retired Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah, the first Palestinian to hold the post since the Crusades, was to preach in the Roman Catholic church in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. A joint statement by Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican and Lutheran priests pledged their “support for the diplomatic efforts being deployed to win international recognition for the State of Palestine, on the June 1967 borders with Jerusalem as our capital.” The priests went further than their bishops, who in a statement this week confined themselves to a call for intensified prayer and diplomatic efforts ahead of the Palestinian membership request, to be sent to the U.N. Security Council on Friday. “Palestinians and Israelis should exercise restraint, whatever the outcome of the vote at the United Nations,” the bishops said. “We call upon decision-makers and people of good will to do their utmost to achieve the long-awaited justice, peace and reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.” Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu look set for a U.N. showdown next week, with Abbas planning to push for membership for a Palestinian state and Netanyahu arguing against it. “Despite the pressures that we face, Palestine goes to the U.N. on the 23rd of this month to seek admission as a full member,” Abbas told Egyptian television on Wednesday. |
evamathis:Right now any enemy!!!! Any person bringing harm to me and my people who share a common interest with me must be warded off.Rwanda and Anglo is what i see likely to happen in Nigeria. When people choose to demonize and blame a people for every of there woes is a good beginning in the hate lesson towards a genocide.Hitler did same to the Jews and later made it easy to savagely destroy the millions of Jews. The other one is Rwanda where the tutsis were blamed for any wrong in the country and later hunted and killed like cockroaches after a little incidence. We either SPLIT PEACEFULLY or we PREPARE as deterrence. So that any fool trying any shit knows what he or she stands to accomplish afterwards.Violence be met with violence, peace with peace and war with war |
Mr Rev Oladimeji is full of bull shit and a typical bigot instigating people with lies and drive issues definitely out of context to bring about enmity and possibly an end to this nation through violent means.Just wondering what this fanatic would be telling his followers. They will confuse alot of xtian folks to keep running from there shadows and judge some incidences with silly conspiracy lies filled in there minds. Above all lets split the country already.I am tired of having his kind around my kind.Just damning us and trading hate.Nonsense!!! Abeg Muslims should also open there eyes and ears. All that fear of if i do this, the xtians will think am fanatic or something is gone. They are training for war and they are spreading the hate messages.A little spark is all it will take for people to inflict a kind of genocide.Don't be caught unprepared.Forget Boko haram, its a small sect and some lose goons.Let all the Muslims and Northerners gear up,train and acquire the ability to also sustain a war.To defend any war that could be pushed upon them.We all have a duty to defend ourselves. The rubbish this silly pastor is saying if another Imam was to make same by now alot would have being hauled at him. ![]() Enough of calming in the midst of his likes.Enough of his kind who always go one with clear lies which people don't substantiate but just accept.Lets SPLIT NIGERIAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!! The Muslims and Northerners are also land owners and people and they have a claim to there genuine rights and property and are not any fools bogey lab model. |
Beaf:Heavy drama surely but, the kind where he insults people who may resist his attempts to address the issue properly. He targets the BH leaders family simply because for me it will buy him the ears of the members through such kind gesture to the next of kins.It will go a long way if the attacks are revenge for BH leaders. We regard family and everyone has a soft spot for family in most cases. In short this move is the rarest of all.Since it happened how many top shots reached out to the families? It is a good move for the greater peace.forget the issue of not talking to terrorist. How about having the likes of boyloaf of BH spring up and challenge the others to dialogue and surrender.Ideology you say. Then this would touch though to reach spot of ideology.Cause even the hardest ideological humans bow to some kinda of family. Politically he is relevant and controls a significant force in the Northern elite or atleast could get there attention when he wants. That is if it goes political. The old military boyz are a clique and continue to be.Such that espirit de corp would do well to get to areas GEJ would simply scratch the surface. |
This is a good move and Obj has the experience and knows the terrain.I like his way of doing such negotiations. He offers you the choice of peace and war.He is blunt to tell you this is the repercussion of rejecting a peaceful offer. In his peace dialogue where you prove harden he goes down and dirty.I mean if it means your papa ,your mama, fool @ ? and waka kinda insults. Grin Grin Grin Grin. Honestly its a good move.He handle crisis better than GEJ. Grin Grin Grin Grin OBJ is a master at this kind of trouble.Abeg make una leave the man!!!! |

Carry arms, maybe good since both parties would be given approval for the arms.Foolishly for CAN do they think the people in Nigeria do not carry illegal arms or what. The case of Jos,I tell you the Beroms are as armed as the Fulanis and anyone else you think. The problem is when the fulanis pick a target to attack, its the vunerable targets.Since the first crisis Berom started using guns and subsequent fights they have and continue to use same.Forget it,The advent of gun has leveled the battle field for both sides. As the Hausa communities and the berom can stop any mass action on them by the nozzles of guns. Where the fulanis keep hitting the beroms is in there vast remote villages where they rarely would expect an attack or on any community who falls asleep. The Hausa,Christian, fulani and muslim communities have long had vigilantes and weapons to fend off attacks. So legalizing guns may only arm more areas outside Jos and cause us more violence. When you legalize, it doesn't stop your enemy from acquiring it too.Its not about the guns its always about strategy period. Than legalize arms,a house to house search would do just fine.Make sure it covers all sides and see who pumps out the must weapons. ![]() |
Jonathan Orders Military to Take over Jos Security 13 Sep 2011 Font Size: a / A 1002F02.Goodluck-Jonathan.jpg - 1002F02.Goodluck-Jonathan.jpg President Goodluck Jonathan By Ahamefula Ogbu, Seriki Adinoyi and Charles Ajunwa Following the unending bloodletting in Jos, President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshall Oluseyi Petinrin, to take over full charge of security matters in Plateau State. With this directive, the military will effectively take control of security in the state, but Presidency sources maintained Monday night that it was not a backdoor declaration of a state of emergency. Over 100 persons including two families have been killed in the last two weeks following a dispute over the venue of Eid prayers by an Islamic sect after the Ramadan. Thousands of lives have also been lost in the crises spanning over a decade. At the last Council of State meeting, the National Security Adviser, General Owoye Andrew Azazi, had said Jonathan directed him to bring up the Jos issue at the next meeting, but apparently because of the spate of killings, the president is acting before then. A statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said the president further directed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, to bring up all pending reports of recent committees set up by the Federal Government on the issue for immediate review and implementation. Jonathan, who is billed to meet with Governor Jonah Jang today, further directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to move in immediately to provide succour for internally displaced persons in the troubled state. In a broadcast Monday to state citizens, Jang said the recent events “have again confirmed that terrorism is here with us and they are expanding their frontiers and posing a greater security challenge. And it must therefore be tackled with all the might at government’s command”. He said “the bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja shows that these terrorists have no regards to not only life, but any course for humanity which the United Nations symbolises,” adding that the terrorism challenge which manifests across the nation “is real and should not be politicised but approached with all sense of decency”. Meanwhile, speaking on the Presidential Media Chat on national TV and radio Monday night to mark his first 100 days in office, President Jonathan said the Jos crisis is essentially an economic problem but that religion is being used to fan the flames. He expressed optimism that Nigeria would not disintegrate. He said the issue of security problem in Jos was more of a problem with the people but pushed by religion and assured Nigerians that the government was on top of the situation and would soon bring the problem under strict control. He comprehensively responded to American diplomatic cables published by the Wikileaks website and dismissed it as “beer parlour gossip” that is unreliable given the circumstances under which such information was either given or assumed. Jonathan was particularly miffed that his wife, Dame Patience, was reportedly arrested with $13.5 million, pointing out that his wife never travelled within the period under reference and wondered how such amount would be raised by the wife of a Deputy Governor. “It is like beer parlour gossip and associated to the former US Ambassador and some of them said that they discussed with people and what they claim was discussed cannot be verified. It is unreliable and unfortunately people tend to believe it. “The recent one about me and one of my aides who was alleged to have said that I contributed to the poverty of the people and belongs to the old order is bad. I was just 12 months in office when they said the issue in reference or were they referring to when I was Deputy Governor. So how did I bring poverty to the Niger Delta and how was I part of the old order? “Maybe people have different wikileaks now. How can my wife get $13.5 million? Do people know what $13.5million is? I think that is rubbish. Those gossips that are being published are what I cannot comment, they are gossips. My wife never travelled so where did they catch her? If your name is mentioned in such a thing you cannot keep quiet but you should not castigate someone about it,” he said. On the single tenure, he said the people should have waited for him to bring out the details of the proposed amendment but wondered how even legal luminaries kept on commenting on what they had not seen and likened such comments to rumour. He, however, said for a stable economy to be achievable, there has to be stability in the polity, pointing out that Nigeria started out with countries like Singapore which has now progressed beyond Nigeria due to the stability in their polity. He noted that even in Africa, Nigeria has the shortest political gestation of four years which was too short and costly for the economy. Added to the social and political upheavals that attend such elections, he said, for an investor to have confidence to invest in the economy, he must see consistency in policy that would protect his investments. He also said that due to the short period, just when people settle down to offices, they start thinking of second term and some even stay less when they win at tribunals a few months to the end of their tenure. “The cost of conducting elections cannot be good for us every four years. We spent about N130 billion on INEC alone and we are talking about roads, water etc. Nigeria is the only country in Africa with four years. South Africa is five years and Liberia is seven years and both have two terms. In Africa, elections lead too civil strife. “I have no regrets about proposing a single tenure of say seven years for Governors and president and six years for Assembly members who may want to spend the rest of their lives there because it will stabilise the polity. People are opposing it out of sentiments but one day, Nigerian will decide. Now it is like a rumour,” he said. Tags: News, Nigeria, Featured, Jonathan, PLATEAU, Securit |

Alleged bomb plot in Nigeria echoes in Holland On September 4, 2011 · In News * Activist faces trial * Keyamo, Ekiyor cry foul By EMMA AMAIZE SHOCK and outrage trailed, at the weekend, the plan by The Netherlands (Holland) police to arraign non-violence campaigner and president/founder of Rotterdam-based Hope for Niger-Delta Campaign, HNDC, Mr. Sunny Ofehe, in court for allegedly plotting to blow up oil pipelines, operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, in Nigeria. Human rights advocate, Mr. Festus Keyamo, and former national president of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, who played a major role in galvanizing militants to embrace the Federal Government amnesty programme are among Nigerian activists dumbfounded by the charge against Ofehe. The defence team of Mr Ed Manders and Mr Michiel Pennings, in an electronic mail statement, obtained by Sunday Vanguard, also said the new charge came to them as a surprise and wondered “why the prosecutor has such a keen interest in oil pipelines in far away Nigeria right now”. It is not known if the Federal Government is aware of the plan to charge Ofehe with plotting to bomb SPDC pipelines in the Niger-Delta, but a source said the Attorney General’s office had no information on the activist’s trial for pipeline bombing. The activist had led delegations of Dutch parliamentarians and journalist to Nigeria to observe the degradation in the region and operations of Shell in Nigeria. Ofehe, who has had a running battle, in the last few years, with SPDC with its international headquarters in The Hague, The Netherlands, was arrested at his Rotterdam home, early this year, for human trafficking, but the charge was dropped and replaced with a new one of attempting to blow up the company’s pipeline lately. He visited some militant camps to speak with militants on why they were at war against the Federal Government and also met with the Joint Task Force, JTF, on the Niger-Delta as well the Presidency in his campaign. It is also on record that he was disowned by the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger-Delta, MEND, the chief militant group in the region, for canvassing that the group should drop its violent dispositions for dialogue in the resolution of the Niger-Delta crisis. At a conference on Niger-Delta organized by HNDC in The Hague, last year, he disagreed with the leader of the Niger-Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPFV, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, who insisted that violence was the only language the ‘oppressors’ of the Niger-Delta understood and that the people should use violence to take control of their resources. Keyamo, in response to inquiry by Sunday Vanguard said, “I am totally taken aback by this charge of terrorism. The Sunny I know will never get involved in such things. I hope the facts would be made open to dispel any notion of persecution. I will follow this trial keenly”. According to Ekiyor, “It is quite surprising to hear that Sunny is being charged for terrorism in Nigeria by the Dutch government, whereas Nigeria government is quiet”, adding, “This goes to show the politics of oil can make great nations desperate”. “I am convinced Sunny will find justice in the end. He worked tirelessly to bring hope in the Niger-Delta by supporting the peace initiative we preached, so when and where did he blow up oil installations? “My candid advice is for the Dutch government to drop the charges and support the United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP, position on Ogoni, vis a vis Niger-Delta”. Ofehe’s lawyers in their statement said, “Our client, Mr. Sunny Ofehe, President/Founder of Hope for Niger Delta Campaign, has been charged with plotting to blow up oil pipelines operated by Shell in Nigeria”. “This charge has come as a complete surprise to our client and us. The charge is based on just a few tapped phone calls between our client and an acquaintance of his in Nigeria in which Sunny simply tries to come to an agreement to record bunkering of oil pipelines in the Niger Delta-region. “In no manner was his intention directed to blowing up any oil pipeline. The surprise of this charge was even bigger, when we noticed that these phone-calls were already known to the prosecutor at the moment Sunny was arrested. However Sunny was not charged with terrorism then and only went into pre-trial custody on the charge of people smuggling and forgery. Now suddenly the prosecutor changed his mind and charges him with this serious crime, with hardly any ground to stand on. “The defence team (Mr Ed Manders and Mr Michiel Pennings) wonders why the prosecutor has such a keen interest in oil pipelines in far away Nigeria right now. The questioned phone calls have been intercepted during a massive investigation against our client, which started more than a year before his arrest on the 22nd of February 2011. “During this investigation police tapped all the phones and computers of our client and they even put a car with a camera in front of his office for 3 weeks. The defence team has been seeking access to other police files on which the suspicion against Sunny was based according to the police, but access has been denied by the prosecutor so far”. They stated: “That makes the charges against Sunny even more questionable. The trial against our client starts on Monday September 5th 2011. We will ask the court to give access to all the material that is being held back by the prosecutor on that day. Hopefully we will then be able to see what the suspicion is really based on. If there was no suspicion the entire investigation could be illegal. We are confident that Sunny will be acquitted of the terrorist charges”. Investigation by Sunday Vanguard revealed that 25 police Dutch police officers investigated Ofehe for almost two years and reportedly broke into his car and wired it with listening and tracking device. A surveillance camera was reportedly placed in front of his office for five weeks and a Nigerian was recruited as a spy on him. His case file span up to 2,500 pages and investigation carried out on him would have cost up to 1 million Euros. A source said the Dutch police were frantic to pin a charge on Ofehe and the matter is being followed keenly by the Dutch media , especially Radio Netherlands World (Wereld Omroep), the most popular and reliable newspaper NRC Handelsblad, Algemeen Dagblad and the television EenVandaag (Nederland 1) |

Akamai employee wanted to spy for Israel Israel needs web acceleration 31 Aug 2011 10:09 | by a staff writer | Filed in Security USA 0 Comments 3 submit to reddit Akamai employee wanted to spy for Israel - An employee of the web acceleration outfit Akamai has admitted trying to hand over secret company info to Israel. According to Computerworld, Elliot Doxer spent 18 months gathering information for James Cromer, a man he thought was an Israeli spook. From September 2007, he handed over pages and pages of confidential data, providing a list of Akamai's clients and contracts, information about the company's security practice. Among the invormation was a list of 1,300 Akamai employees, including mobile numbers, departments and e-mail addresses. Doxer delivered the information to a dead drop box, a predetermined location set up by Cromer. Apparently Doxer was not interested in money. He wanted to help Israel and to get information on his son and estranged wife, who lived outside the US. However what Doxer didn't know was his handler was really a special agent with the counterintelligence squad at the FBI. He was arrested and charged with committing foreign economic espionage. He is the eighth person ever to be prosecuted in the US for trying to sell corporate secrets to foreign governments. Akamai said that there was no evidence that Doxer ever managed to sell his secrets to anyone other than federal agents. It all started when out of the blue, he decided to send an e-mail to Israel's Boston consulate on June 22, 2006, writing, "I am a jewish american who lives in Boston. I know you are always looking for information and i am offering the little i may have." He was contacted a few years later, and quickly started delivering information. He asked for $3,000 for the data and information about his son. He also hinted that Mossad could do him a favour by making bad things happen to his estranged wife. He faces 15 years in prison on the charges. Read more: http://news.techeye.net/security/akamai-employee-wanted-to-spy-for-israel#ixzz1XkQG6wA4 |
Demdem:Obviously he also knows that because he might have had access to such information and is also liable for not calling the names. They keep playing politics and causing unnecessary apprehension.I am for total exposure of the culprits even if you would not arrest them.So that we can better dissociate from them. ![]() Except where the goal is to cause panic and play with peoples opinion and align people of selected interest for a common evil deed under the pretext danger and yet get Nigerians to accept that they are import to ensure security. |
