Tell her she is a LIAR!

Read the book of 1Corinthians 12:10, to her and show her where it says that the "gifts" are shared differently, No one person is given TWO gifts (Speaking and interpretation)

You are right, l have been a victim of this "You must speak in tongues by force" grin grin in the past!
It was an all-night session and l was encouraged to "move my mouth and utter any sound" but as someone who does not fool himself, after trying all night, l made it plain that "I cant forge it" because it is not coming naturally! sad shocked

They said it means l am not a Christian but events over the years, have proved them wrong!
Christianity and serving God is a personal relationship (in the heart) between "You and God".... and you will definitely know "you have it", if you are not the type that wallows in self-deceit.
Lolz. Maybe you are not spirit-filled. Only those that are spirit-filled can speak and hear it.

The scary part is coming back from reading room at night and seeing someone or group of people manifesting weird signs in the name of praying, rolling on the floor, doing weird things like a cult and screaming 'rubbish', well it sounds like rubbish to me.
My roomie said its the Holy Spirit, and that she can interpret whatever she says. Some Churches even teach it, like you aren't praying to them if you 'don't speak in tongues ', so some people just invent words so they won't be the weird one out (several friends have told me this).
Still gives me a good laugh whenever she starts.

All I am trying to say is that most of the Nigerian Nurses did not have that call to be in that profession. Florence Nightingale will be rolling in her grave if she sees the attitude of some Nigerian Nurses... It is just horrifying ..
Ok

Buy why will the hospital management wait till the last minute to get these patients stuff together? Why will they ask them for glove and dettol? That is poor management. Why not charge them those fees as you did during card taking so you had provide those essentials stuff. The essentials should not be left in the hand of patients
Well, the Government doesn't provide that neither is the hospital management in charge of it.
A list of what the patient would need for delivery is given which they are expected to bring along on the D-day is given at contact.
To help ensure the pregnant women have their stuffs ready some hospitals encourage them to bring their load to the hospital near term (which isn't advisable cos they might not eventually deliver in that hospital).

This is Nigeria, charge them for those things then people start talking about how they are being swindled in the hospital by the Nurses and Doctors and how delivery should be free.

In as much as I agreed with you, I wish you saw the state of the woman...Since I was born, I have never seen someone in such a sorry state..and I pray never to see it....even if she doesn't have those necessary things... kind words could go a long way helping to ease her pains....Totally ignoring her because she doesn't have a bloody hand-glove and soap was not ok...There are ways to make people feel comfortable and dignified in Government hospital even without treatment...
Did they later attend to her or not? Let me guess borrowed around from other patients who bothered to get what they'll need for delivery.

Come back and say that if you have had to deal with many of such cases. Expecting you to deliver their babies with nothing. And no it is not just hand gloves and soap.

I think people should respect themselves too, are they to crack their brains about where to get what to use to deliver their babies too? The list is usually given on first contact but people will still turn up with nothing, expecting miracles. They are humans too and it's frustrating.
I'm really trying hard not to justify a bad thing but the patient here was wrong.

Do you know that at the station where I work,a woman who just delivered(though she lost the baby) absconded from the hospital without settling bills?Tomorrow if patients come and you say pay a deposit, people start shouting,ah ah,why are they always asking for money first?
We are all products of the enivironment. The patients have their faults too.
Patients absconding when the feel better, or some with weird relatives coming in to disturb the ill patient, 10 (exaggerating slightly) people on a patient, ask them to procure something the patient needs none of them will try to get it.
Visitors coming to disturb patients when it's not visiting hours, etc.

The annoying part is no one seems to have ever been treated right by a nurse ever in their lives. All they do is complain and complain both falsehood and situations they don't really understand to disparage nurses. It can actually be draining.

I will agree that nurses and other health workers need to show more empathy. However, the bolded part of your posts raises questions.First she was told to walk up and down to aid her labour so it wasn't a punishment.
The second part is really the issue.Tell me why a pregnant woman who falls into labour has no bag packed for delivery?Do you know out of 10 patients in a government hospital, about 3 or 4 will present that way?How do you keep working with people like this and not get frustrated? The government provides limited resources so you really don't have extras in the hospital. There is poverty in the land but I think many patients are just careless.
Do you know many health care workers provide for patients from their pockets?
Seriously?!

The way some Nigerians reason ehn. A woman will attend ante -natal for 9 good months (for those that are even regular) but come on delivery day without even a single pin! How frustrating can that be? Are they to deliver her with their bare hands, or cover the baby with leaves or even buy what she needs for her from their own salaries? Tips will be given during ante-natal o how to go about buying the requirements bit by bit till delivery date but many clients will still present without even a pin, maybe one wrapper.
Then they react and people call them rude and uncompassionate
FamilyRe: Why Are Most Nigerian Nurses Inconsiderate And Uncompassionate? by HaneefahRN(f): 7:59pm On Nov 28, 2016
Tired of having to defend the Profession almost every time. Someone always has to say something bad about to say about Nurses. If they aren't been called slu. ts, someone else is generalizing about ALL nurses being bad and rude. All other Professionals are Saints apparently.

There are good nurses, I have worked and schooled with several, I am one. And as we have with every other profession, there are bad eggs. People just seem to capitalize more on the bad eggs ,wouldn't know why, maybe all nurses they have met have left bad impressions.
Like someone said we are all a product of our Environment. There are good and 'bad' people everywhere, profession notwithstanding.
And the condition some or most nurses have to work in can sometimes make one develop apathy, when just 2 nurses are to care for over 15 patients, critical cases, demanding relatives, uncooperative patients, having to improvise for almost every damn thing, people talking you down and all and someone is expecting efficient nursing care in such situation, how? Many are burnt out and just there for the pay check (when it comes), etc.
Not making excuses though, there are bad nurses and nothing can justify not treating the patients well, they are the reason we are there. There are good ones too, no one talks about them though, no one as ever gotten a nice gesture from a nurse, no one has ever been treated right by a nurse, they are all usually rude and uncompassionate.

Reason I don't like 'bedside' nursing, need my Sanity.

To you, it looks tattered. To some men (I'm tempted to say most, but nothing to back it up with), it looks beautiful and they love it like that.
That's how its supposed to look anyway, and it's definitely not tattered.
Lolz, true.
I once had a weird side bunky in boarding house, she's usually 'spreading herself open '. It irritated me like, would tell her to cover up, and some minutes later, she'll be back to it.

So one day, I just said out loud with distaste ' Wait, is this what guys actually run after'?
And everyone was like Haneefah you have bad mouth, from that day she started covering her thing up.

MizMyColi:
It was so new to me too.
The dusting powder I mean.
When I searched Google, I found that there was little mention of it, so I decided to create the thread to get more opinions and hopefully, it will be indexed on Google.

In all honesty, for a moment there, I considered it, but mainly for aesthetic purposes, and then maybe to avoid too much pleasure, cos a close friend told me a story of a friend's friend who was so promiscuous.

That her friend took her into an empty office and showed her her hoohaa, the c.lit. It was abnormally big and shooting out like a small preek and she said the place was always scratching her, hence her whorish nature.

When that woman talked about the waka waka lady, my mind flashed to the story I just told and I was scared for my DD.

Because I know I will never circumcise her, I was scared her c.lit might turn out that way and be scratching her too.

That was even why I searched Google till I saw the results, and even then, there was little reference to dusting powder.

So I thought to bring it here to know if talcum is different from dusting powder and in the event it is, is it actually dangerous?

I thank everyone of you for your inputs. I am more enlightened now.
Lolz. This 'scratching talk' is quite hilarious, sorry

I guess the lady you are talking about just has a very high libido and nothing to do with being uncircumcised.
Sure, most if not all common dusting powders around here contain talcum, which is said to be carcinogenic (you can easily check the constituent on the pack)

You are welcome

Experienced Papas Mamas and Doctors, please help me chook mouth inside this matter o.

So an aunt saw mum bathing my daughter and started asking why we didn't cut off that thing in her hoohaa.
I started wailing that it is not even something any mom in this age should consider.

Then she said there is an alternative.
That leaving it like that will make her too "active"
That alternative is dusting powder.
Dusting powder!!!

She says it will kill some cells that cause the need for too much pleasure.

Please don't read and waka pass o.
Let us deal with this matter.
People need to be aware.

I am concerned because I wouldn't want to my girl to grow up and start being promiscuous. I heard a story of one waka waka lady who claimed that it was because nothing was done to her hoohaa...

Is there even any truth in that?
If there is, are there ways one can prevent such?

Should the hoohaa of our female infants be left just as they are? Any risks.

Help please embarassed
Darkrebel, just got your mention

Seriously don't mind those old mamas o, my mum went through same she was pestered by the older women around her then till I was circumcised ( Yes, I was). All these BS about the girl turning out to be promiscuous, plus low exposure and knowledge back then, she knew better with the next girl and actually stood her ground.

Not circumcising a girl child has nothing to do with promiscuity contrary to what they say, it's the values ingrained in the Child while growing up that'll guide her life choices and decisions.
Doing anything to affect the natural form is doing more harm than good, I don't have to talk much, I know you must have read about the side effects of these practices.
Actually hearing the dusting powder stuff for the first time, these mamas ehn. Can you imagine putting dusting powder in a baby's vagina!

Leave the baby girl be, just thank the mama, whenever she asks you about it, tell her you are applying it well. Don't leave your baby alone with such people o.
Just bring up your child the right way ( trust you, and may God make it easy). Allow her enjoy her sex life as much as possible when the time comes.

What else is the function of a wife...
A man provides for everything in the home, some even pay salary to their wife, some wives even find it difficult to wash their husband's clothes. Some husbands even settle for dry cleaners or buy washing machine for their wife(which would also be of benefit to her).
Most husbands leave for work on empty stomach and come back late to meet cold food which has been grudgingly served by the wife or in most cases... The maid
Marriage is a woman's Asset and a Man's Liability
After paying so much as bride price and bearing the cost of the wedding which she made more expensive... At least the least he can get is a good food at home.No wonder the divorce rate keeps going up and Many single and Eligible people don't want marriage commitment.
If Not for Religion, person like me for dey marry and discard any misfit of a wife Annually.

WHAT DO HUSBANDS EVEN GAIN FROM WIVEShuh

everyone is free to voice their opinion. I have just said my opinion like the Op has said his. If you are pained by my comment, Remember there are over 1000 ways to die...CHOOSE ONE
Do you even have to marry?
You can always pay a maid to attend to your needs and perhaps that of your family and guests; pay Oloshos for the other room activity, and give birth to and raise your children who will bear your name, mind you, plus support you when you are down etc Problem solved.

Marriage isn't for everyone.
FamilyRe: Bad Cooks Don't Make Bad Wives by HaneefahRN(f): 5:18pm On Nov 24, 2016
I think it's the 'wrong' upbringing some men have.
That crazy saying 'Okunrin ma ni' which makes some parents overlook whether the guy can cook or take care of his home, they feel he doesn't need to. Some people get to Uni and find it hard to cope, depending on bukaterias or one girlfriend or the other for food, those that try can put together unpalatable concoctions in the name of food, that's not good enough.

I believe it's important both gender learn the art of cooking. It's not rocket science, for your own good and sustenance and definitely not gender based.
For you to know how to eat, you have to know how to cook too, no excuse. And the parents have a lot to do in this regards, how will your Child leave your home and not be able to put together a meal? That's just somehow.

I personally don't fancy the polygyny talk, and no one should come here to tell me about Iman. And not like they'll go for widows and divorcees they keep talking about, it's a young girl who probably has series of young, single suitors asking for her hand, they'll also chase after. And I'm talking about majority

At least next time d woman will learn how to talk to her superior in a respectful manner.
Educate yourself, a Doctor is not superior to a nurse. A nurse is a nurse's superior and a Dr, a Dr' superior. They are both two very different professions working towards same goal.
And she has the right to correct a mistake he makes, she is her patient's advocate, and this will ensure the safety of the patient.
That is why it is called team work, what use is the team when you can catch and correct each others mistakes?
Some Drs make deadly mistakes cos of this silly ego, that they are more knowledgeable when infact he is wrong.

I'm sure you will talk this way if the nurse was a relative of yours. Some Nigerians and their silliness, justifying violence

I don't understand these Drs at all. I really don't.

See, how this thread has degenerated. Will everyone be Drs? Do we all have same interests?
And should they not advance in their fields cos they ain't Doctors. Every little goodness other health professionals seek is seen as an attack. Ask for better working conditions and salary, you are competing with Drs (only Drs have a right to this) or why didn't you choose medicine in Jamb? Ask for advancement in Education, you want to be Drs. Only they know what's best for other professionals
I don't understand this silly rivalry.
