tatacherie:My dear. I have also battled with carpel tunnel from the second trimester of my pregnancy. Mine was on my left wrist. I saw a doctor but there was nothing much they could do except reassure me and they also advised me to get the hand splint. I was however given the option of painkillers but I declined. I wore a hand splint for most part of my pregnancy but had to stop after I gave birth because I needed unrestricted hands to carry my baby, etc. I must say that the pain has greatly reduced and all I feel now is very little pain. I know how it feels especially when you pain hits you suddenly when you are trying to do even the most basic things with your hand. Continue to drink lots of water, massage the wrist with balms formulated for pains in the joints and just endure. The pain will stop soon ![]() |
drlayla:I do not think its best to use talc powder as there appears to be evidence to suggest it causes cancer. See the link below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-35648252 Talc powders are also linked to respiratory problems. If you must use powder at all, then use non-allergic ones made from corn starch.

Congrats Hajarahbadmus Lmao @ pounded yam and efo riro. Make sure it's laced with orisirisi fish, beef, etc |
stadora:1) No. All formulas do not taste the same. Just the same way peak milk and carnation milk do not taste the same If he keeps refusing it, maybe you should try another brand. Milk is very vital for the first one year of a child's life so you need to find a brand he loves. 2) Piriton has to be one of the most abused drugs in nigeria. that said, at my end, Piriton is for allergies not cough and I personally won't give it to a child unless it's prescribed by a doctor or buy OTC unless I'm sure the child is suffering from an allergic reaction. Since it's just a slight cough, why not give him vitamin C and lots of warm water ? |
when it comes to work especially at this stage of your career, do not be sentimentally attached because when its time for the company to downsize or if you do anything that warrants a sack, there are usually no sentiments. drop your resignation letter and move on to the new job. if you boss is as nice as you say he is, he will match the offer of the new company or offer you much more. |
andresia:Forget all the negative press. Mugabe is well read/educated. |

idealsico:Just to add to what miraclemum and lovinam have said, I think timing is key. Give her the bottle when she's really hungry. Start with a little quantity (10ml or 20ml) and if she finishes it, then breastfeed till she's full. Continue with this method by increasing the quantity of milk until she's drinking solely formula for a meal. Using this method ensures you do not prepare too much milk that you eventually end up throwing away because she has refused to drink it. If all the various suggestions fail, then maybe you need to try another formula brand. Maybe she might prefer another. Regarding water, you can add very little Ribena to it if you are a fan of Ribena like me. That said, have you fed her from a bottle before she clocked 4 months? If not, you have your work cut out as your child might take a while to get used to the teat since she's been used to a nip-ple, so you have to keep trying. |
rhymaster:This is why even before the crumbling oil prices, some major oil and gas firms have been divesting from Nigeria. Those militants have made trading in nigeria very frustrating that any "potential profits" from oil drilling by these firms is not even worth the trouble. A friend that works with a major oil servicing company once told me how the governance board swore that there's nothing that can entice them into doing business in nigeria just to show you how bad things are. |
CFCman:Very true. Anybody but trump. If he becomes president, he would end up alienating others and be probably end up as one of the worlds most hated presidents. Lol |
CFCman:Lol. I'm still glad he lost. His bragging rights have been diminished. |
CFCman:Fantastic. I would love to see a Clinton vs Cruz contest. Trump is way too decisive to lead any country in this era. To think Trump came third Shame catch am ![]() |
babythug:Thanks dear. Blessed are the peacemakers . . . . What she is trying to do is give the impression that I have posted here that other brands apart from aptamil is for cheap stakes. WTF is that? I challenge her to show me any post of mine where I have compared formula brands or put a price tag on any. Why is she getting her knickers in a twist over aptamil Is aptamil gold dust in nigeria? Aptamil that's sold for 10quid (9.99 sef) at my end (covert it and it's less than 5,000 naira - far less than the average cost of asoebi in nigeria). Is that what I will be using to "form levels" on an annoymous forum? if we want to "form levels" then let's do it with fast cars, handbags and shoes and not baby food. If people use formula to form level at her end, I don't belong to that band wagon. At my end, nobody gives a rats a$$ whatever you feed your child. My posts are centered on aptamil because it's the brand I use. Will should I post on other brands I do not have first hand experience with? Other mums post on other brands, why hasn't she picked on them ? I have overlooked her rant on cough syrup (because I have already explained my stand on that and also said its cough syrup with codeine that's not meant for infants) but her coming here to misconstrut my posts to label me as looking down on other mothers just because I use a 10quid formula - I'm sorry but I will not accept that. |
Firstymum Where you dey? Tea has been served. Come and sip ![]() |
modath:Mo. Sorry but I have to give it to her. People have moved on and since she decided to put it on her head to attack my person and post lies (na jeje my lane I dey), I had to respond. Me I sabi clap back oh. I no dey look person face. At the end of the day, it's an annoymous forum. We are here for the banter and to learn. |
lamdec:@ bolded Madam, is everything okay? Show me which post of mine where I tagged any formula cheap? If you feel intimidated or suffering from inferiority complex, is that my fault? Go ahead and show me which post of mine where I have listed formula brands, price tags or tagged any cheap. Please respect yourself. All I have done on this thread is to have good banter, offer genuine and honest opinion on my own experiences and answer the odd mama that's in need of advice. I try my best to back what I say with screenshots, links, etc. I have not pushed my opinion on anybody's throat. Many mamas have come to collaborate my opinion, many have come to disagree. At the end of the day, no size fits all. It's our individual perogative to do what's best for our child. That said, you are late to the party however you've been noticed and you can have your medal. In fact, I have no option but to tell you to STFU since you've chosen to misconstrut my posts. I post in simple and clear English so if you've decided to misinterprete my posts, mix them up with responses given to specific posters then I won't even waste my time trying to explain anything to you. If you see any post/comment from me, biko jump and pass and ignore. It's not by force to read anything I post. Abi na your question I respond to ? ![]() |
temmy2103:Phew! Thank goodness you were also told to give your baby paracetamol after immunisation because I'm sure some people here were already giving side eyes that "Helovesme is at it again". ![]() From ogi to cough syrup to formula to scoops and now paracetamol. Na only me waka come ![]() |

Hafsat24:Please give him paracetamol for the temperature. He should have been administered pcm before the immunisation. When I went for my son's immunization, I forgot to give him pcm the night before as I was told by the medic. However, the nurse gave him a dose before she gave him the injections. |
modath:Thanks for your honesty. The truth is many mums do this if they want to be really honest. modath:So true! |
@doubledouble Noted. |
aye88:First of all, I don't live in your so called nook and cranny so I have no idea of the price tag on formula at your end. The names you've mentioned - enfamil, similac are not sold at my end. It seems you are just trying to be cheeky. Have I told anyone to buy aptamil - apart from mothers that have posted and complained about wanting to try other brands? Maybe you should take time out to answer posts from other women rather than coming here to drop inciting posts. If I center my posts around aptamil, it because it is the brand I use. Why would I post on another brand I have not used? P.s. Next time mention my username |
MumZ:What are you saying U sha want to put mouth and be noticed. Okay, I haf seen you and you can have your medal. now you can jump pass my comment and waka Biko? ![]() Why not go to pages 441 and 442 and address other mothers that suggested the same thing to the lady. |
proudmom38:Yeah. Yeah. Your post reeked of sarcasm. One reading your post would think you've been feeding your baby formula. You could have waited to introduce your baby to formula, feed him the recommended scoop to see its effects on him and then decide if I and the other mums are wrong. I won't expect your baby to be constipated anyway whether you give him the recommended scoops or more because he's passed the 6 months mark and he can enjoy a varied diet unlike mum's with babies younger than 6 months feeding on milk and nothing else. |
proudmom38:Sigh. Una still dey on this matter ![]() Please. It's getting boring. ![]() I'm NOT the first or the only mother that told the lady in question to reduce the scoop of formula she's giving her baby so biko free me. To each their own. Feed your child whatever pleases you. I find it amusing that you are concerned with my advice of "going one scoop less" but you see nothing wrong in feeding a baby or "augmenting" with ogi to "fill" up the child's stomach ![]() That said, I use aptamil for my baby. I know nothing about your cow and gate Biko. I'm still on the "first infant milk" and there's NOTHING like that on the pack. The only thing on the pack is "ADDING TOO MANY OR TOO FEW SCOOPS IS HARMFUL". if aptamil tells me to put 7 scoops which leaves my baby constipated and I decide to go with 6 scoops - THAT IS MY CHOICE and I have a healthy and happy baby. That's all that matters to me. Going one scoop less is NOT "too few scoops" in my book. Please do whatever works for you Biko. We on combination feeding (where sometimes our babies take minimum 4 bottles of formula in a day) know what works best for us. |
Nita2013:I'm sure the other mothers that told the lady (even before I posted) to reduce the scoops of formula as they also think that's what's responsible for the constipation are not feeding their babies with aptamil so this isn't "an aptamil is the best" debate. |
The amount of scoops stipulated on the pack is ONLY A GUIDE this is clearly stated on aptamil's website. So there's nothing that says you MUST stick to the quantity or frequency of feeds as stated on the pack. Every baby is different and they've also acknowledged on their site that a baby's feeding habits might not match their guidelines precisely. https://www.aptaclub.co.uk/article/how-much-how-often

Hafsat24:your baby is a boy and people say boys eat a lot and i think its true. my baby too can suck for africa. as he is milking me, he is also whoozing down aptamil. no time! i was also like you. i wanted to do EBF but my baby was never satisfied. he would always end up crying. my mum would be like ''this boy is hungy ooooooooooooooooo'' and i will just carry face and insist that ''no, he's not hungry, i am on EBF'' and my mum would YIMU. LOL . the first day i gave him formula and i noticed no more crying, i actually felt very, very bad because it meant all these while he had been hungry hence why he was crying. since then, i adopted full combination feeding. 70-80% breastmilk and 20% water/formula. some days i give him formula during the day and then i breastfeed him from say 6pm and anytime he wakes up till morning. some days its vice versa. maybe you should increase the number of bottles he takes a day. have you checked his weight with the medics to see if he is within the percentile for his age? IGNORE your neighbour. is she a scale ? lol. how does she know that he is underweight. if he cries a lot, its hunger oh. just increase the number of bottles you give him. a child should not starve or be underfed just because we are eager to do EBF. ![]() |
the fact remains that if nnamdi kanu had succeeded in entering and leaving nigeria without being arrested, he would have been a successful billionnaire by now. he would have been on radio, yapping up and down on how untouchable he is and also canvassing for more money and donations from people. he would have been travelling to all countries where there are Igbos canvassing for money and support and using his trip to nigeria to convince them. he would have came up with all sort of lies on how he met with kings and queens and how he came to inspect the biafra army during his visit and how he is also inspected the biafra defence headquaters in onitsha and other lies. his coming to nigeria is akin to a fraudster taking his white maga to an arranged CBN office to wash dollars. a very risky move as the fraudster can be arrested, however, it is a key move that is used to prove legality hence they can bleed the maga dry. this exactly was nnamdi's tactic but it has backfired big time. he holds a bristish passport. if his struggle was genuine, by now the british authorities/diplomats would have been on nigeria's case asking him to be released. however, they are fully aware he is a fraudster and they are happy to get him off their land. if nnamdi is not careful, his UK citizenship might be revoked. he is a terroist and now all terroists involved in terror or instigating war in other countries have their citizenship stripped off ![]() |
