freakingout:bookmarked. i will be back to comment on this post when i put to bed ![]() |
freakingout:do you know AlHassan Hospital, kano? If i remember correctly, its on Ibrahim Taiwo Road. I am not sure if Dr. Alhassan is still alive, if he is, please go there. He is a VERY good and experienced gynaecologist with years of experience. I am talking 30years +. |
proudmom38:my apologies. i assumed that as you were over 30wks gone, you would have had at least 2 before now. |
carramel:thank you beautiful lady for your kind wishes. just relax, do nothing stressful and most importantly keep praying to God - you will get your bfp. Amen hmmmm @ egg. maybe i heard my GP wrongly then. however, the rule of thumb he gave me for babydancing effectively during my fertile days was 7days before ovulation and 7days after ovulation - based on the calculation that a HEALTHY sperm could live up to 7days. my GP na oyinbo ohhhh. as he take give me the info, na him i dey pass am oh ![]() |
proudmom38:your baby must be very 'shy' ![]() my baby was shy too but the sonographer asked me to raise my waist/pelvis (i was still on the bed) and shake it lightly from side to side to 'annoy' my baby. she also told me at a point to lie on my left side for a minute and then later lie on my right side. with these few movements, she was able to see EVERYTHING she wanted (including the sex) and also take the neccessary measurements she required. you seem to have scans done regularly, so by now you should have seen the sex of your baby considering how far gone you are. you should try the movements i have described the next time you go for a scan and hopefully, you should be able to see the sex. |
carramel:beautiful lady, in my previous posts to freakingout, i suggested babydancing from CD11 to CD22 to ensure full optimization of the fertile period as there is little room to miss out on the fertile days. it was when she posted that babydancing from CD10 could get tiring by CD15, which was why i suggested she can start from CD13. the month i got my bfp, i ovulated around CD20 and i had my last babydancing at CD16 as per the lifespan of a healthy egg, i am sure my GP said up to 72hrs (3days), which I interpret to mean it could be just 1day or 2days - except i heard him wrong sha. ![]() |
@freaking out, thanks for your kind wishes. you will get your bfp VERY, VERY soon. ![]() i am still bumping. you can start babydancing actively from CD13. I agree that babydancing can be tiring but it has to be done oh ![]() yes, acv works for weight loss. i am attest to that as i dropped kgsss while drinking it consistently before i got married. thanks for defining bsm. i have stopped taking acv (as i am not really convinced if its safe to drink during pregnancy or not). To be honest, i really miss the taste. it got to a point that I couldnt drink water without a spoonful of acv in it ![]() |
freakingout:beautiful lady, please what is 'bsm' ? secondly, why not just buy braggs organic acv rather than going through the stress of making it yourself. regarding fibroids, if your doctor has assured you that it wont affect conception, please believe him. i was told i had fibroids too (after a routine scan because i complained of mild abdominal pain) and the sonographer and my GP dismissed it as nothing to worry about. infact, my GP didnt even take it as a serious issue at all to the extent that i was given the results over the phone and we also discussed the result over the phone without any physical consultation. however, on my own, i started drinking acv daily. however, as a typical naija woman who was quite worried, i booked an appointment to see him about 3months later and i brought up the fibroids issue. he again dismissed it that it wont affect conception in any way (meanwhile, the fibroid is more than one oh) and then he reeled out statistics of how many women around the world had fibroids, how it was more common in afro-caribbean women, blah blah. i still wasnt convinced and i told him he MUST suggest a medical solution. ![]() he then suggested placing me on the monthly 'pill' ( that is oral contraceptive pill) as he said that could stop the growth of the fibroids and then i told him i was getting married in about 3 months and i wanted to get pregnant as sson as possible after my wedding. he then said, in that case, i cant go on the pill which was why he advised me to start taking folic acid, multivitamin tabs, lots of fruits and vegetables and lots of exercises. in fact, my GP told me point blank that i should babydance actively for the next 12months and I should only come back to his office AFTER 12months, if i had no bfp. (he must have sensed that i was worrying for nothing and he obviously didnt want a black woman on his neck discussing conception issues ). he also told me that worrying and being overly anxious for nothing can affect fertility, so i had no other option but to relax. true to the words of my GP and to the Glory of God, i got my bfp few weeks after my wedding. so far God has been faithful and the fibroids have not affected me. in fact, when i go for my pregnancy scans, i am always the one reminding the sonographer to ''check the fibroids out'' (thats to show you how they see the fibroids as a non-issue) and i have been told a zillion times that there's nothing to worry about. so please beautiful lady, if you have been assured by your doctor that it wont affect conception, believe him and most importantly put your trust in God. there is NOTHING impossible for God to do. |
freakingout: ![]() You are welcome beautiful lady. I babydanced till CD16 (and then hubby was away) and I had my bfp. this is why i said you should not stop at CD15. CD11 to CD21 is just 10days 'pere' even if you cant babydance everyday, try to do so every other day within that time frame. when i calculated the CONCEPTION date, i realised that my ovulation occured after CD 16. which means that DH swimmers were patiently waiting for my egg to drop (which is why i said that healthy swimmers can live up to 7days inside a woman). let me share something with you. after i got married and during our honeymoon, DH was always initiating babydancing like crazy. i wasnt really keen as i knew i wasnt fertile during that period. anyways, my AF came and i could see the dissapointment in DH eyes (even though he wanted us to wait a year after marriage to have a baby - which i refused by the way and told him we should see how things go - if i get pregnant, perfect. if not, its God will but i won't be trying NOT to get pregnant). the look in DH eyes was one which said ''chai, so with all my pumping this woman, she no get belle'' ![]() when i knew i was fertile, it was now my own turn to initiate babydancing like crazy and thank God, it resulted in a bfp. this is why i keep stressing on the importance of babydancing on the right days. you could try all the babydancing styles in the world but as long as you are doing it on non-fertile days, there wont be any bfp. even during our private pre-marital counselling session, our reverend mentioned/explained this to hubby and i (he covered the topic TTC and how it should be handled if God forbid we had any delays). in fact, he even went as far as telling us that gender selection based on calculating the right timing in a woman's cycle is possible as he did it with his wife and it worked. |
TCF1980:Gosh ! why is a woman TTC drinking orijin and jedi agbo? what is a woman TTC doing with alcohol in the first place? ![]() do you know that those 'herbal' drinks are VERY effective for aborting a fetus and they also mess up a woman's cycle ? some are so harsh and potent that they can even destroy a woman's reproductive organs. even if she got pregnant, are you aware that alcohol can lead to birth defects in babies? 'you make up your mind say MAY na your month', yet your wife has been drinking alcohol and herbs ![]() issokay ! |
mamakendra:i charted my cycle manually. what i did was that i opened the 'notepad' on my fone and i would save on it the day i started my period, the day it ended and for how many days i had my flow. for the following month, i would count from the start date of my pevious cycle to the start date of the new cycle (minus one day) and this will give me the entire length of the previous cycle and i would save it down on the notepad. i did this consistently for about 9 months as i found it more convenient than apps that came up with multi-colours and all sorts of info. i used different websites to calculate my fertile days when i was ready to have a baby. i didnt use an app. there are lots of websites online that can be used to predict one's fertile period. so what i did was that i had an overview of my fertile days over the 9month period and this helped in predicting the best time to babydance when I was ready to have a baby (considering the fact that i had limited time to spend with DH before he went off for work) as these websites/apps cannot be termed as 100% accurate, personally for me as a rule of thumb, the best days to actively baby dance is from CD11 to at least CD22. this is based on the fact that a helathy egg can live for up to 3days and a healthy swimmer up to 7days. so babydancing during this period means there is a swimmer patiently waiting for an egg to attach itself to and fertilize as soon as the egg drops. as the eggs do not live for long, there must be ample swimmers floating around to quickly get the job done. pls note that my calculation is based on a cycle length of 28-32days. |
freakingout:pls dont go with discharge as a 100% sign of ovulation or infertile days. I will suggest you baby dance ACTIVELY everyday (if you can do this) from CD11 TO CD 21. this way, you are well covered and you wont miss any fertile days at all and you are optimising your chances of getting pregnant. besides, a lady's egg can live up to 3 days while the swimmers can live up to 7days. the CD15 that you are counting as infertile days may actually be your peak fertility period |
Jennygurl:why do you want to go on antibiotics do you have any infection ![]() are you aware that antibiotics can affect your cycle ? this is not the time for you to start experimenting with drugs since your DH is just around for a month. start taking plenty of fruits - oranges, apples, bananas - as much variety as you can lay your hand on, drink lots of water and most importantly prepare your mind psychologically and spritually for the goal ahead. i can see from your previous post that you are on pregnacare conception and folic acid - continue with that. have you been charting your cycle? do you know the days you ovulate? if yes, then babydance like crazy during that period (read my previous post). it seems many women do not understand the importance of babydancing during one's fertile period. if i had not charted my cycle and knew the days i was ovulating, i would not have had a bfp because that period was when my DH was tired, stressed, busy, etc. there were days i would not be in the mood too but when i remember my mission, i will quickly un_dress, ignore his tiredness, jump on my husband and do the needful. a healthy egg can live for up to 3days and an active sperm can live for up to 7days which is why you must babydance like crazy to ensure your body is full of swimmers and also ensure you are healthy as healthy eggs attract swimmers. |
mumsgirl27:i was told that sterilizers are not needed since sterilizing tablets exist that you can just drop in cold water or any water and it does the job. |
mumsgirl27:i agree with kaffy4bill since the doctor showed you everything concerning your baby and considering the time you did the scan (23 weeks), there is no need to do another one |
JesusDWay i am applying as the main applicant but also including my husband's details, IELTS score, etc Is it possible for him to apply as the main applicant and also add me on to his profile? that way, we've got two profiles in the pool. one for him and one for me - and maximise our chances of getting selected. is this allowed? |
JesusDWay:thanks a lot i see where you are coming from and i agree with your explanation. as you've said, it doesnt cost extra to get the nigerian degree verification done. thanks again |
tatacherie:beautiful lady, i will personally feel more comfortable with 'sitting over steam' than inserting garlic into my v@gina you do not have to sit over the steam for long period. even if its for 2mins, twice a day, you will see remarkable difference. once you get up, dont wear your panties immediately. once the water, gets warm, you can also rinse your pubic area and v@gina entrance with the water. there's no need for you to insert your fingers or anything. another method is to soak quality cotton wool in a mixture of slightly hot water and dettol with salt and then insert the soggy cotton wool into your vagina (not deeply) and close your legs. leave it there for 2-3mins and then remove the cotton wool. during my student days, I once had HEAVY discharge and itching and this method cured it completely without taking any drugs.by the time i went to the hospital to get a test done and also get drugs prescribed, the test returned with no sign of infection. |
IyaderaChuks:beautiful lady, my end no be nigeria. your doctor must be well informed and experienced to insist you do the anomaly scan. Like i said, here it is compulsory and must be done as it is for your own good and also for your baby. so, please do it. the anomaly scan also checks the umbilical cord and the position of the placenta. |
Sleekjaguar:pls are you saying that if is not necessary to send one's naija degree to WES for evaluation if one has a higher degree from a foreign university? JesusDWay, please what is your take on this? thanks |
tatacherie:congrats beautiful lady on your BFP. you will carry to term in Jesus name. Amen on your recurring candida, please be careful on what drugs you use/insert and what antibiotics you take. at my end, nobody will sell mere canesten cream/insertion tablets to a pregnant woman without a doctor's prescription and even with that, any doctor will be cautious about prescribing it. there must be something that's encouraging the recurrent infection, so please try the following. 1)soak ALL your underwear (panties, thongs, etc) in a mixture of very hot water and dettol (or any other powerful antiseptic) for at least 2hours. 2)for everytime you wash your underwear subsequently, rinse with dettol mixed with water 3)soak ALL your DH's underwear in the same mixture of very hot water and dettol 4)get DH to apply canseten cream on his joystick for at least a week (that is, if he agrees to it) 5)for the itching - get hot water in a bucket, add plenty salt and a powerful antiseptic (eg. dettol) and sit over it for as long as you can with your legs spread open. the aim is to get the steam into your v@gina. it can be hot and uncomfortable but it works. be careful not to trip over the bucket/spill the water to avoid burns. 6)go to bed without undies so as to discourage the growth of any fungi |
Tallgirlslim:Hmmmm Now, i understand why the NHS only carries out two scans - one at 12 weeks (called the dating scan) and the anomaly scan around 20weeks. You will only get more scans if its a high risk pregnancy or there are any discomfort or complications or bleeding, etc during the course of the pregnancy. I read stories here of people getting scans done at 4weeks, 6 weeks, etc!! There is nothing to be seen at that stage. No wonder some women have been advised wrongly of ''no fetal pole'' and asked to get an abortion when in actual fact, the baby is still developing. Here, you won't get a scan till at least 12 weeks oh! Even if you decide to go for a private ultrasound at your own expense - the earliest you can get if you are very lucky is 10-11 weeks. Infact, my first midwife appointment around 6weeks or so (where a file was opened for me and they took my medical history, husband's medical history, weight, BP, etc), the midwife did not even TOUCH my belly. The only skin contact was when she took my BP. What was your due date as at the time the first scan was done? The scan around 12 weeks is usually the most accurate dating scan and here the sonographers wont bother during subsequent scans to check/give you another due date. the only cross-check the baby's growth against the due date to ensure that the baby is growing normally. They do not bother with subsequent scans because if baby is big - there is nothing that can be done to stop the growth,so why give the mother unnecessary stress. Besides, medical personnel are on standby for any emergency (for example, if CS is required) on the date of delivery. Please go with the date given to you at your previous scan and stop worrying yourself about your baby's weight. Eat a healthy and balanced diet . . . . thats all that matters. |
IyaderaChuks:at my end, anomaly scan is a MUST. i actually like the idea of the anomaly scan cos you are shown everything - your baby's heart, bladder, lungs, nose, legs, mouth, hands, spine, etc. it is also good for detecting any birth defects so that the medical personnel can prepare for an early intervention as soon as the baby is born. For example, a friend had a baby with cleft lip that was detected during the anomaly scan. Plans were made for surgey before the baby was born and within 2weeks after the baby's birth, the surgery was all over and done. |
mozo:very helpful. thank you |
pls i have another question once an applicant has a completed profile in the pool for express entry candidates, does the profile remain in the pool forever or what is the duration? are candidates selected from each NOC category? |
ayaakanoh, tatacherie, rejoice03 thank you beautiful ladies for your kind wishes |
Jennifer89:my team mate. no be small thing oh but i thank God too because he has been faithful. I also drink water like a fish and pee like no mans business. i have lost count of the times i have had to look for secluded bush (yes, in engalnd) to bend down to pee. . if police catch me, honestly I no send. i will just tell them its ''part of my package'' ![]() I also have trouble sleeping at night. although, i find sleeping on my left or right more comfortable. i used to experience the itching. what i did was that i got bio-oil and ''Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion For Stretch Marks''. I apply the palmers lotion on my body in the morning and the bio-oil at night and it has really eased the itching. |
venizia:thanks venizia. i got the drug from Boots, UK. the drug is called ''Boots A - Z 6 months supply 180 Tablets''. its available in 30days and 60days supply. see the link and picture below. i am sure there will be other brands/stores offering similar components of the drug http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-A-Z-6-months-supply-180-Tablets_1289980/ as soon as i had my bfp, i stopped taking it and switched to pregnacare.
