CelebritiesRe: Ludacris Asks Patoranking Which Jollof Is Best Of Nigeria,Ghana Or Senegal? by HenryWilliams(m): 9:26am On Mar 25, 2023
Dindondin:
Who made jollof rice popular?
Nigeria.
Who first made it, we don't know. But historically, Nigerian culture is older than that of Ghana and Senegal so it's possible Nigeria made it first.
Foods like eba, pounded yam & fufu were popular world wide cos if Nigerian influence in selling them in overseas.
Amala on its own is peculiar with Yorubas. Meaning Nigerians are the first to eat Amala cos it's origin is from Yorubaland. Amala is of two types, brown amala and white amala.
Brown from grinded yam peels and white from grinded cassava
The name speaks of it's origin
Jollof . It's from Senegal..
PoliticsRe: No Healing Without Justice — Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Replies Tinubu by HenryWilliams(m): 9:07am On Mar 23, 2023
His name is Patrick Chinedu Rhodes Vivour
Where Gbadebo come into play?
Y'all better address the Eastern virus properly.
You lost the election.. man up and face the next hurdle..
You were foolish enough to start your political career with Governorship in Lagos, a position even well seasoned politicians fail to get..you should have started at local govt level in Anambra then work your way up the ladder .
Your political career is over in Lagos State.
Anambra is still open to you. Go and restart your ambition there. Start with HOA.
PoliticsRe: LAGOS -Non Igbos And IGBOS Reject CENSUS by HenryWilliams(m): 10:17pm On Mar 22, 2023
hisgrace090:
Can they shamefully allow the igbos to be part of census after denying them being part of voting?
Is NPC a state or federal agency cos I'm beginning to see signs of stupidity in your talk.
If the Igbos refuse to participate in the Census. It will be to their own detriment.
Lagos will still collect it's usual allocation and federal projects will be sited here regardless.
It's a win win for us..
And lest I forget. A new tax regime for non Yoruba business and property owners will commence shortly.
Be expected to pay more for
Education
LUC
Taxes and rates for Lagos .
C of O (if they even give v any)

It's gonna get rough for the igbos in Lagos.
So y'all better start parking and move back to the East.

kcnwaigbo:
more of idiots like you will be dealt with at ok Okota.

If dem born you well enter Okota try rubbish
Still foaming at the mouth.
Okota?
Let me ask u a question
Is Okota a military garrison?
Or a well fortified militarized zone that can't be penetrated and occupants destroyed?
Y'all put too much faith on your blustery and it will cost u dearly.
You are surrounded by all sides with only one way in and out of Okota. I laugh at your stupidity.
You think if Yoruba wants to really come in there and hurt u.. really hurt u. You think your estate gates can hold them back?
Sometimes it's better y'all let your grey matter (if available) work , rather than your muscles..
I like the way Northerners herded you into Sabon Gari up north.. you want to turn Okota into your own Sabo in Lagos?😃
Be our guest but it won't save you if and when the Yorubas come for you
PoliticsRe: Yoruba The King Of Warfare . Element Of Surprise Unleashed In Lagos by HenryWilliams(m): 8:36am On Mar 21, 2023
Ofunaofu:
But A former president of this country once said that if the yorubas are beating drums of war, he will just go to sleep
And probably continue that sleep in hell.
That assumption has led so many to their doom.
Despite the subtle warning given to them last week Saturday.. they still foam at the mouth, using Okota as example..
The Okota murder will be revisited at the right time . This isn't the right time for that.
And for the idiot saying Yoruba should run their mouth in Aba or Onitsha.. why should we do that? Is it out land? Wetin concern us with local Igbo politics? Because y'all do it doesn't mean other tribes are that foolish or insensitive.
Y'all lucky you came out of this not too bloodied as expected. Hopefully you'll stay away from Local politics and stuck to why you're here. Buying and selling (economic migrants).
Next time. You may not have it easy.

emmydee:
I keep saying it.
Agbado urchins will soon enter wahala.
Igbos mean well for Lagos but do not destroy their businesses. You can not stand the heat.
You will even run away from that same Lagos.
Those Agbado urchin never reach ooo. When Igbo boys start, na fight to finish.
It's this kind of asinine chatter that got y'all in trouble in the late 60s.. all brawn.. no brain.
Chattering away like a demented parrot.
See the ridiculous chest beating .
Sometimes I wonder if madness is embedded somewhere in your DNA.
Stupid useless bravado that serves no practical purpose, merely to show vapid courage that fizzles away into cries of genocide and marginalization when met with equal more deadly force.
You are all lucky the Yoruba weigh their actions especially warfare very seriously.. it's that lack to compulsory head into violence at the slightest trigger (like the Northerners), gives the igbos the impression Yoruba are weak and cowardly.
We all know how the Northerners deal with them decisively whenever they go out of line.
Until we decisively deal with them and cull their numbers, I'm afraid such talk will continue for some time to come.

clarocuzioo:
Simply tell southwest governors to call for referendum to end the shit hole. Yeye dey smell.
So Yoruba should fight your fight?
What happened to your Igbo governors and senators?
Why can't they move the motion?
They can't cos they enjoy One Nigeria and it'd perks and leave you the poor Igbo masses to carry the banner of a failed project.
For your safety.. keep your head low in Lagos .
The atmosphere is tense, serious igbophobia in the air..
You can't win any fight against Yoruba in Lagos. Anyone giving y'all courage to do so hates u.
Y'all be massacred and your markets leveled and nothing will happen.
You're playing with fire and you rub yourselves with palmoil.. smart.. very smart.
PoliticsRe: Forthcoming Census In Lagos And Igbos Resident In Lagos by HenryWilliams(m): 6:03pm On Mar 19, 2023
Beremx:
The last time I was counted in a census was in 1991 in my village when I was in JS1
I have been reading some comments on Twitter concerning the forthcoming census where some Igbos how vowed not to participate in the census to retaliate for some APC thugs who didn't allow them vote.
If eventually this threat is carried out by Igbos, how is it going to affect Lagos knowing well that there has always been a political fight between Kano and Lagos on who is more populated? The north has always have the upper hand in inflating census figures.
Will the narrative of APC Yoruba members saying Igbos should go back to their land not resurface again?
Igbos simply won't be counted. Lagos usually carries out it's own independent census along side the Federal.
PoliticsRe: The Federal Government Should Build A New Commercial Capital For Nigeria by HenryWilliams(m): 9:53pm On Mar 17, 2023
asorocker:
If a new federal commercial capital is built by the federal government it would reduce the current strain and stress on Lagos and the constant wailing by Yoruba's about who owns Lagos ,who developed Lagos and about Igbo domination of Lagos. The Igbo's will have a place to expand their enterprises without harassment the Hausa can have a place they can finally try their hands on administration.

This would be a win win case for everyone if it is in Niger delta
Until about 20 years later, They will come and start the whole process claiming it's no man's land after building a few houses or markets
PoliticsRe: Southwest States Should Bring Back Indigenous People To Our Markets by HenryWilliams(m): 10:36am On Mar 16, 2023
Sapiosexuality:
This election really left me disappointed. What exactly is this crime the Igbos committed that warrants all these? Don't tell me they disrespected because that's bullshit. What exactly is their crime?

I know Igbos can be egocentric because it is sort of a cultural thing and many of whom are yet to break free of it are still enmeshed in it. But this still does not warrant the level of hatred I've seen these past few days.

What exactly is the problem?
The problem comes from not knowing your place .
We are all forced to be in One Nigeria.. that doesn't mean we don't know our space in this geographical concept.
If you come to my land and graciously received , you're allowed to do your business, buy land and build houses. Yes you bought all those with your money,No one gave u for free. It's not enough reason to start chanting you developed Lagos cos you built houses or run a market .
Hiausa have markets in Lagos as well,
They also dominate certain areas in Lagos
Same with the ijaw people and many other tribes. They all know their place and function in Lagos State and don't abrogate any rights upon themselves
Why is it that only the igbos that go about trying to rub shoulders with the owners of the land?
Federal Constitution doesn't remove Yoruba from ownership of SW, igbos are free to migrate , do your business build your houses and raise your family in SW.. just don't equate yourself with your hosts.
Leave the politics to them.
Face your markets
Know your place in Lagos l.
PoliticsRe: Southwest States Should Bring Back Indigenous People To Our Markets by HenryWilliams(m): 7:54am On Mar 16, 2023
1. Stop selling/leasing land to igbos
2. Higher tax regimes for Igbo businesses in the SW
3. Higher tuition fees for igbos right from Primary school in the SW. No more free education for non indigenes.
4. Zero appointments for Igbos in SW civil service. Permanent or causal.
5. Strict ethic profiling of igbos in the SW.
6. Higher LUC for properties owned by igbos .
7. Renaming of streets in SW bearing Igbo names.
8. All markets must have babaloja and iyaloja. Igbos must not be allowed to control any markets in SW.

Since we can't officially deport them (for now)
Target and cripple their businesses and work opportunities in SW.. they will leave in droves and migrate elsewhere to continue their nefarious lifestyles

okoroemeka:
what we learnt from the civil war is too make something out of nothing, many Igbo entrepreneurs came to Lagos with just bathroom slippas and polythene bag but they succeeded and filled in swamps to build houses and business despite the 20 pound policy after the war,we learnt that war is not only fought with guns but also economic freedom is also an act of victory
And when you came to Lagos after the war .
The land was empty abi? No was there for you transact business with?
The 20 pounds magically transformed to millions enabling you buy land and build houses,
The same 20 pounds also allowed you to raise your family in peace and tranquility.. cos you met Lagos empty when y'all came after the war .
Abi?

Electoral violence in Lagos.. Ebute Metta, Surulere, Fadeyi Lekki , Oshodl.
Just terrible cos LP is in early lead
Confirmed reports of thugs injuring voters, burning and destroying voting materials.
It's a shame

In Ebute Metta West Ward 2. Polling started with no fuss..
Majority of voters are youths and most voted for LP according to them.
In Ward 3 and 4, very similar stories..
First time voters are in the majority
Perhaps the older citizens will come out later around 12-1pm tho some youths are playing street soccer.(tho some peeps tried to educate then the need to vote)
So far it's mostly LP with a sprinkling of APC.
I voted for LP.. Peter Obi

obailala:
Obailala, tribalist? Obailala hates who exactly? What a resounding joke!

You opened a thread asking a life long pertinent question on why Igbos are disliked. I gave you a short, blunt, deep and factual response which captures the essense of it all; but it obviously went over your head, so you quickly dismissed and tagged it "hatred and tribalism".

You say the thread is for those willing to learn, but you don't seem mature enough or possess the requisite intellectually soundness to entertain opposing views, including those you can actually learn from; you probably only want responses that massage your ego.

If it helps your prejudices, I am an Igbo man myself, and the response I gave was a direct extract from Chinua Achebe's final publishing - There Was A Country! (I've attached an excerpt below - If you're truly willing to learn as you claim, I can send a PDF copy of the book). I'm guessing in your interpretation, the 82 year old Achebe was also a tribalist who hated Igbos?

Anyway, I guess the joke is really on me for erroneously thinking it was a mature thread open for deep conversations. So I would be taking my leave, BYE!
Can I have the link to the PDF copy?
So much appreciated..
