laposta: For the inverter, it is the fuse that cuts when you reverse polarity. Open it up and look for the fuse, then check to see if it is burnt. If you can't identify it, snap the panel (front and back) and post here. I should be able to assist in identifying it. Mine has exactly same problem. Souer 1000 watts that I just bought during jumia black Friday. Reverse polarity, black wire to red terminal. Don't know the right names to call it. Took it to my guy who installs solar, he said it's an AC abi na IC problem. That it's better I buy a new inverter cos Souer doesn't have spare parts in Enugu. I've been thinking Of how I'll shell out 12k to buy that inverter for the 3rd time.

Travel › Re: Dear Lagosians, by Hullabaloon: 7:32pm On Jan 24, 2021 |
Jakumo: As an unrepentant and ashamed villager to the bone, most cities are not my cup of tea, but Lagos occupies a surreally dystopian realm of its own, as a nightmarish and chaotic war zone that easily meets and exceeds all the criteria comprising my personal definition of hell on Earth.
1. Anger. As the OP stated EVERYBODY is fighting mad the instant they wake up in the bowels of Lagos, and primed on a hair-trigger, to start screaming, punching, biting and kicking like wounded animals, even in the total absence of any visible provocation.
2. Danger. Every traffic jam that traps your vehicle could be the location of your most serious injury ever sustained, or the site where you will be killed outright, by roving packs of hungry and desperate robbers who specialize in smashing car windows and stabbing the occupants while grabbing their valuables in a feeding frenzy.
3. Air and Nose Pollution : The harsh, choking smog billowing from millions of gridlocked rickety cars that are never regulated to reduce toxic emissions, combined with the unrelenting cacophony of EVERY driver leaning on their blaring car horn full time, punctuated by the hysterical screaming of combatants locked in frenetic fisticuffs, is cumulatively GUARANTEEED to reduce any human lifespan by a decade or more.
4. Uniformed Terrorists. Lagos is awash with a thousand different uniformed personnel, all foaming at the mouth in absolute rage, as they vigorously vie for supremacy over one another, and over civilians who, despite having no uniform to wear, are still more than willing to stand their ground while loudly invoking that ubiquitous phrase "Do you know who I am ?" in a suicidal bid to intimidate their uniformed oppressors, even when such adversaries are fully armed and more than ready to pull the trigger.
5. Utterly hopeless traffic congestion. Commuting from one side of Lagos to the other could take as little as 30 minutes, or as long as 5 hours, depending on whether accidents have blocked the road, or petrol tankers have once again exploded in traffic incinerating scores of people, or road works are in progress, blocking all but the narrowest escape routes.
To all who grew up in Lagos and love the place, may I just wish y'all the very best. As for me, I would sooner spend a month camping in the deepest and darkest forest, shooting snakes as needed, than spend a single day in the finest luxury hotel available in Lagos. Not for a million dollars cash, and paid up front, would I ever accept the challenge to spend a single week trapped in Lagos. Were it not for the international airport that happens to be located in Lagos, I would gladly and gratefully avoid setting foot in that congested and squalid post-Armageddon landscape, until I am dead and buried.
Perhaps it is no surprise that my favorite city on this planet, is San Diego California, where just about any location in town, can be reached in ten minutes of easy, relaxing freeway driving, with the car's cruise-control set at 55mph, and the radio station playing smooth jazz. Now THAT, is my kind of city. A life spent in Lagos, would amount to a death sentence by agonizing installment, for this simple country boy. You are a freaking good writer. And this is coming from a fellow writer. |

ogbiwa: I've never really settled with that big bang. Even though it has a few funny scenes but overall I find it repeatedly boring and tedious. The lead character too doesn't help. That's Sheldon Lol. Sheldon is a character you love to hate. Besides, the series will appeal more to science students |
TV/Movies › Re: What Are Your Top 5 Movies And Series Of All Time? by Hullabaloon: 6:01pm On Jan 16, 2021 |
ogbiwa: Bro they're both really funny. But because I personally relate with Charlie's character, I chose two and a half. And even though I love modern family, the gay couple's scenes irritates me Thanks for your feedback. Two and a half men is the first sitcom I've ever seen, and it so raised the bar that I don't think I can find another series as funny. I'm currently watching the big bang theory and though it's good, two and a half is miles funnier than it. I really wanna know if there's any other sitcom out there that is as hilarious as two and a half. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Are Your Top 5 Movies And Series Of All Time? by Hullabaloon: 12:53pm On Jan 03, 2021 |
ogbiwa: Name the top 5 movies and top 5 series of all time that you've seen
Mine:
MOVIES
5 - The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King The last battle between the humans ad th orcs is one of the most epic battle scenes of all time.
4 - The Rattlesnake Surprising because I hardly watch Nollywood. But this Amaka Igwe's 95 or 96 classic is a legendary story (Ahanna, Peter, Adaugo etc)
3 - Black Hawk Down My best war film of all time. Shows the gritty and not so heroic aspects of war fims. Same as Mel Gibson's We Were Soldiers and Tom Hank's Saving Private Ryan. Epics
2 - Troy Achilles's "We are Lions" speech before the battle of Troy still leaves a lump in my throat whenever I watch it. As well as the death scene of prince Hector. I am still angry though that Paris and his lover get to survive after Troy was destroyed and everyone else died due to the stupidity they called love.
1 - Titanic Everything about this movie intrigues me. Literally everything. From when the ship left Southampton, when Jack met Rose, that epic "My heart will go on" soundtrack against the backdrop of a ship on an endless ocean at night (tears). Even when old Rose threw the diamond into the black ocean and watched it sink to the bottom. Absolutely classic
Notable mentions: Robo cop Con air 12 years a slave Air Force One (Harrison Ford) Harriet The notebook Hotel Rwanda Wedding party The Mummy Mr Bones Black November American sniper
SERIES
5 - Modern Family My favorite characters Jay Pritchett Luke Dylan Phil Gloria
4 - Strike Back The only downside to this series is that Michael and Scott are virtually unkillable. They'll enter a house with 50 armed hostiles shooting at them yet all the bullets miraculously miss them, yet they kill the hostiles with only one shot each. But other than that this series keeps me glued. Micheal and Scott's bromance is the highlight of the entire series
3 - Two and a half men Only up to season 8 though. After they removed Charlie it became a snorefest. Ashton Kutcher did not in anyway make up for Charlie's absence in my opinion. But the seasons with Charlie oh my God
2 - 24 What can I say. I have learnt A LOT about politics, cyber warfare, terrorism etc from this series.
1 - Game of thrones Every single scene in Game of thrones is a classic. Every single scene. No other series does this for me. I have probably watched all seasons at least 3 times
Notable mentions: How I met your mother Friends The Punisher Orange county Money heist
So that's mine. Let's have yours. In your opinion, between two and a half and Modern Family, which is funnier? |

Alexaonfleek: I watched 1 movie that made me cry in 2018. I can't remember the name of the movie now But the movie is a romance movie that is about an old married couple trying to remember their love story or so. The woman(then a girl) met the guy in her teens and they were each other's first love. The girl was rich, the guy was struggling. They separated somehow and for years they didn't hear from each other. The lady was to get married to another guy but her first love came back in the pic. What made me cry was how they died together holding hands on the same bed. If anyone can help me with the name please I would appreciate.
Then another one I watched this year. About two black American couples who out of self defense killed a white policeman and were on the run. Also this movie, 'i am somebody's child' or so,the story of Regina Louise. Probably Queen and Slim |

Investnow2017: Oh interesting. Thanks for sharing, that was kind of you. But sincerely, the Bible writer, Paul the Apostle, quoted by Oyedepo was not even married if being married alone qualifies one to raise a valid objection to an opinion on the subject of marriage. When a statement or an opinion is bared on a space as wide as the internet, wisdom dictates that the public will receive it in varied manners. The onus rests with those who believe they have a calling to win souls to settle down and brilliantly explain his position supported by the holy book, the Bible. The intention of such a man with acclaimed divine calling will be to remove the sheep from the darkness, at the same time appreciating that others reading stand to learn and be emancipated for their own salvation. Anything short of such noble motive smacks of ego and pride to push ones opinion without giving room for divergent views. I am told oyedipo wrote on a social media. Such message is undoubtedly for the over 7billion people living on earth. To be unopen or closed to a divergent opinion especially such as supported by the Scriptures is not only disappointing on his part but bereft of pride, ego, which has no place in a man who says he has the holy spirit. Don't talk to the public if you cannot stand criticism. Period. That is my stand. Freeze should be proved wrong Scripturally and not to be abused or threatened - such act is unChristian, Satanic, and disgraceful. Brilliant submission. You are correct. |

Investnow2017: I read all the useless comments from your insightful question to the last page, not one of them answered your question. You see, these people do not believe or know what the Bible says just what their god of men they worship dish out to them after they have been severely financially squeezed. In fairness to Freeze, he quoted the Bible, and instead of patiently explaining it further, since you do not agree with him, knowing that there is a huge audience, they resorted to name calling, insults and threats to life. And people still believe that these charlatans know God or have anything to do with Jesus Christ that they scream every minute. Shame on them. You made a statement and quoted the Bible on a public space, someone reasoned it out differently and also quoted the Bible, if you are convinced of your calling, your place would be to explain further knowing that the wrong belief of this soul can lead him to destruction. Instead of that, because you have the same proud spirit as Satan, you resorted to insults and threats. That is evil, hate speech and condemnable. Are these the crop of humans who say they are going to heaven? Shameful, disgusting. They will be grossly disappointed. What were the insults in the points raised by Freeze? No one is saying rather they keep heeping venoms. I am not surprised because the Bible says in the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. These scammers and blind followers have warped and devilish mind, very evil heart. Disgusting what comes out of the people who said they are going to heaven! Freeze according to you is a lost sheep, do you help him by insulting or threatening his life? And you still call yourself a follower of Christ? Would Jesus' apostles have resorted to such mindless diatribe and threat? It's this exchange he had with that commenter that proved to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

36STATES: Stop these motor park lies. Many people on this forum are highly educated and can't stand this your primitive mindset. That's the problem. You lot will try to explain everything with logic and reasoning. There are Some phenomenon that exceeds your mental capacity. No matter how intelligent you think you are. Growing up in the early 2000's in Enugu, once in a while, we'd gather to watch a road-side juju man display his powers. He'd spread red cloth on the floor and display his juju paraphernalia. People would gather, and some would agree to volunteer in some of his abracadabra. With my eyes I've seen him conjure money into an erstwhile empty mini coffin and gave to one of the volunteers. He once told a volunteer to put his hands in his pocket, the huge young man did, he recited some incantations and told the man to pull out his hand. E no gree. His hand got stuck in his pocket. So much so this volunteer began to shed tears and plead that he reverse the spell. It was all funny to us then. In another display of power, he was told two men to hold a horn down. He made some incantations and the horn started ascending. These two men tried to pull it down but it kept ascending till he commanded it to stop. Then there were no smartphones, if not, we would have recorded all these things. I wonder what happened and we never saw that juju man again till date. I went to CIC Enugu, and during one of our school breaks, Enugu state hosted one national cultural festival. Our hostel was used to house the visiting guests. One of the Saturdays, I went to get something from my cupboard, and I saw the occupants of our hostel, mostly Fulani people, rehearsing their performance with paranormal displays. With my eyes I saw a man cut himself and nothing happened. Guy forget o, I'm as widely read and enlightened as you, but I've seen things. Juju is real. There are powers. |

rinzaugustine: It can work for you for 5 years and just one day it will fail a bullet will pierce you and you are gone.Almost every armed robber believes in it but after “successes “ it fails one day and they are killed.Thats why if you watch crime fighter videos anytime police kill an armed robber they display their charms to the public to show them its powerless. From armed robbers that believed in Odeshi like derico, chiejina, ngwuekeluomu, anini etc they are all dead. The popular policeman Jude sars in Enugu had his own fail him.During the cult war in Enugu of the 90s and 2000s I had seen people shot multiple times at close range, the bullets pierced their clothings but couldn’t penetrate their bodies.I would conclude that that thing Is unreliable and can fail when you least expect it.Its best to believe in Jesus which is a more enduring and reliable power Seems like you grew up in Enugu.
