When I was in secondary school, my state, an eastern state, hosted the national cultural festival, hence our school hostel was used as one of the lodges for people coming from other states. I studied human anatomy in University of Calabar. I did msc anatomy (uniport). I have heard stories of dead bodies in gross lab (where students carry out dissections of dead bodies) and in embalment rooms. I use to read In gross lab with those dead bodies around me. I will even fall asleep sometimes. I never saw or felt anything.

When we studied mortuary techniques in yr 3, we were taught how to embalm corpses by specialized morticians, and they never told us any of these things. We didn't knock any door when we went to gross lab to dissect those bodies or when I visited embalment rooms to harvest organs or learn embalment techniques.

Those stories we hear are fictitious and superstitious. Though I am not into embalment but I have colleagues who are embalmers, and they have always debunked those stories.

The devil and his wicked demons can take up the images of the dead to cause confusion and tell us things. Some may even tell us or reveal certain secrets to us, I don't have any doubt.

70k can get you at least 2 units of 270 - 300w panel. You will be grossly shortchanged if you get just 2 units of 150w.

But it is a good idea to get the panels. At least, you will always have juice in your battery during the day to do your usual work, then at night you will use the battery.

Also, getting the panels would mean you have solved the solar section of your inverter system. You wont have to but it again. So you will just focus on getting good batteries now

By jumbo, he meant that, with an extra 20k (bringing you total money to 140k), you could have easily gotten an original 200ah Fullriver batter which sold for 125k a few months ago. The remaining 15k could have easily get you a 1000w inverter with inbuilt charger.

This system would power your fan and laptop for at least 10 hours. I speak out of direct experience.

But like you said, in life, we win some and lose some. At least you paid to learn your lessons...we all did same too... ...that's why we have a great community here to support each other

Wow. See what I missed. I've always been lucky buying my gadgets from strangers. TV, 76k, from a total stranger on Nairaland. Works flawlessly till now.

Laptop, 83k from someone I met on whatsapp group. Best piece of business I've ever done. I was beginning to feel invincible, till this one hammered me . The costliest and most useless and most problematic thing I own as a bachelor.

That my solar guy advised me to add solar panel of 70k (two 150w) to the powerbank. That only then will I start enjoying it.

Sorry about your experience sir. My story would have been similar to yours, only that I was careful to do due diligence. Let me share my story.

Just after the lockdown was eased, I began looking out for a laptop power bank to power my laptop as I was learning animations then and I needed to be on my PC for long hours.

This particular guy was one of the first few people I reached out to, and he quoted similar price to me. I reasoned thus within myself, "in 2018, I did an inverter setup from the information I gleaned from this thread. The inverter setup then didnt cost me more than 60k then and it was able to carry my laptop and binatone standing fan for a couple of hours, before the battery went completely bad. Why then would I spend a whopping 120k to power only laptop?"

So I began frequenting the inverter threads here on Nairaland and was networking and getting enough information, until I made significant head and got a good system. This particular guy is even a reseller. That system is a clever contraption made with Lithium batteries. I have the contact of the guy who constructs them at Alaba International. The guy you bought from resells with a profit of at least 30k. I am not against the guy reselling the product, but it is sad that he is being deceitful. I could have fallen into the same trap, buy my Chi was alive.

Abdulasod, I recall that we spoke at length on Monday night. See, the moment one begins to look for powerbank for laptop, it is just best for that person to begin his inverter journey, because the cost of getting a specialised laptop powerbank will easily get you a decent 100ah battery and inverter. And you can easily scale up from there.

Exactly what my guy who is into solar told me. He Said if I'd added like 10 or 20k, I would have gotten a jumbo inverter and battery, whatever he means by that.

Anyway, in life we win some, we lose some. It's not a total loss sha. At least, on hot nights, it powers my fan and saves me cost of buying fuel.

Paid the 120k only to find out the thing can't even power standing fan alone for 8 hours let alone the other two. The thing takes almost 40 mins to add one percent when charging but loses one percent after 15mins.

I've been living with the regret since.

The one I bought from a seller here on Nairaland is 400,000 Mah. Powers both laptop and standing fan. It's pricey though. 120k.

This picture is not the one that has the reverse polarity problem. My solar guy is still with that one, I just used this to see if the guy I quoted can show me where the fuse is. This one I posted is the first one I bought, I was using it with a laptop power bank, forgot to unplug the powerbank from socket. Nepa brought light, currents clashed and inverter started smelling like barbecue

Then I bought this second one that has reverse polarity problem. Are you willing to buy two of them? I'll be happy to sell them.

Mine has exactly same problem. Souer 1000 watts that I just bought during jumia black Friday. Reverse polarity, black wire to red terminal. Don't know the right names to call it.

Took it to my guy who installs solar, he said it's an AC abi na IC problem. That it's better I buy a new inverter cos Souer doesn't have spare parts in Enugu.

I've been thinking Of how I'll shell out 12k to buy that inverter for the 3rd time.

3. Air and Nose Pollution : The harsh, choking smog billowing from millions of gridlocked rickety cars that are never regulated to reduce toxic emissions, combined with the unrelenting cacophony of EVERY driver leaning on their blaring car horn full time, punctuated by the hysterical screaming of combatants locked in frenetic fisticuffs, is cumulatively GUARANTEEED to reduce any human lifespan by a decade or more.

4. Uniformed Terrorists. Lagos is awash with a thousand different uniformed personnel, all foaming at the mouth in absolute rage, as they vigorously vie for supremacy over one another, and over civilians who, despite having no uniform to wear, are still more than willing to stand their ground while loudly invoking that ubiquitous phrase "Do you know who I am ?" in a suicidal bid to intimidate their uniformed oppressors, even when such adversaries are fully armed and more than ready to pull the trigger.

5. Utterly hopeless traffic congestion. Commuting from one side of Lagos to the other could take as little as 30 minutes, or as long as 5 hours, depending on whether accidents have blocked the road, or petrol tankers have once again exploded in traffic incinerating scores of people, or road works are in progress, blocking all but the narrowest escape routes.

To all who grew up in Lagos and love the place, may I just wish y'all the very best. As for me, I would sooner spend a month camping in the deepest and darkest forest, shooting snakes as needed, than spend a single day in the finest luxury hotel available in Lagos. Not for a million dollars cash, and paid up front, would I ever accept the challenge to spend a single week trapped in Lagos. Were it not for the international airport that happens to be located in Lagos, I would gladly and gratefully avoid setting foot in that congested and squalid post-Armageddon landscape, until I am dead and buried.

Perhaps it is no surprise that my favorite city on this planet, is San Diego California, where just about any location in town, can be reached in ten minutes of easy, relaxing freeway driving, with the car's cruise-control set at 55mph, and the radio station playing smooth jazz. Now THAT, is my kind of city. A life spent in Lagos, would amount to a death sentence by agonizing installment, for this simple country boy.

From when the ship left Southampton, when Jack met Rose, that epic "My heart will go on" soundtrack against the backdrop of a ship on an endless ocean at night (tears). 3 - Two and a half men
Only up to season 8 though. After they removed Charlie it became a snorefest. Ashton Kutcher did not in anyway make up for Charlie's absence in my opinion. But the seasons with Charlie oh my God

What can I say. I have learnt A LOT about politics, cyber warfare, terrorism etc from this series.
