The Akwa Ibom state government has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to act within the ambit of the law and refrain from allowing itself be used by desperate politicians in a manner that calls into question professionalism and neutrality in the eyes of the public.

Reacting to a publication in a national tabloid about the agency’s probe on the account of the state government, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh said it was ludicrous that EFCC has allowed itself to be used as a tool of lopsided political mudsling and witch-hunting by the opposition in the state against the integrity of the Akwa Ibom State Government.

A statement signed by Udoh and sent to Igbere Tv reads in part:

“The attention of the Akwa Ibom State Government has been drawn to a publication in the Nation Newspaper of November 11, 2018 alleging an Economic Financial & Crimes Commission (EFCC) probe of Akwa Ibom Government over withdrawal of N6.5bn from the state coffers”.
“We wish to state emphatically as follows; that this is a malicious allegation and a desperate face saving effort by the EFCC to justify the several illegalities it has allowed itself to be used by the opposition to perpetrate against the Akwa Ibom State Government which have attracted widespread condemnation within and outside the country”, the release read.

The Commissioner reminded the EFCC that the constitution and laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria authorizes only the state House of Assembly and the state Auditor-General to pry into the financial dealings of a state government and the current administration has made Akwa Ibom State one of the few states; if not the only state that publishes its annual audited financial statements.

“This underscores the state government’s commitment to transparency, accountability and integrity in governance. Copies of the state’s annual audited financial statements are available in the public domain”, he stated.

He noted with dismay that story of EFCC probing the state government was earlier published in the same newspaper by the same author on August 12, 2018, and since it did not have the intended effects, EFCC has sadly condescended to regurgitating the story in a flagrant act of impunity against existing laws of Nigeria.

Hear him, “The Akwa Ibom state Government will do all within its lawful limits to protect the integrity of governance in the state. Recall that the Akwa Ibom State Government had served notices of contempt to the EFCC and would not be dragged into a public discourse on a matter that is patently sub judice. This matter is before the Federal High Court Uyo”, he said.

Two years after the Managing Director of NDDC, Mr Nsima Ekere laid the foundation stone for the construction of a permanent NDDC State office in Uyo, the project has been abandoned and taken over by reptiles, Igbere Tv reports.

Funds earmarked to give Akwa Ibom a permanent NDDC state office have allegedly been diverted to fund the managing director, Nsima Ekere’s governorship election.

The project site located at Commercial Layout, Atan Offot, Uyo has been abandoned with workers complaining that neither the contractor who was awarded the contract nor any NDDC staff has visited the site in the past three months.

When Igbere Tv visited the site, Workers who spoke to our reporter said the contractor, Brett Nigeria Limited, has complained bitterly that since Ekere left after laying the foundation stone, no money has been released to his company for the job while officials of the commission insist money for the project was released and the contractor mobilised in full.

The NDDC office in the state is located in a rented apartment in Ewet Housing Estate.
In contrast, Ekere’s predecessor, Ibim Semenitari, gave Rivers State a brand new NDDC state office in less than ten months in office as Acting MD while Akwa Ibom, which is the highest contributor to NDDC has no permanent state office even with an indigene of the state as Managing Director.

A Director of the Construction company handling the project, who pleaded anonymity, lamented that the NDDC approved the release of the funds but Nsima Ekere diverted and converted the money to his personal use and all attempts to have audience with the NDDC boss towards resolving the financial crisis to enable the project kick off have been abortive.

He said that each time he goes to Mr Ekere’s office or lodge to see him, his security aides insist Mr Ekere does not want to see him, a situation he said has affected the company’s ability to continue with the project.

When Igbere tv contacted the Akwa Ibom state government on the development, the state commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Charles Udoho said “it’s sad commentary that a public officer representing the interest of a state that is the highest producer of crude oil and the largest contributor to the financial purse of the nation has decided to play politics with the position given to him in trust for his people instead of pursuing a development agenda.”
He lamented the total neglect of Akwa Ibom by NDDC, despite the favourable environment created by the Udom Emmanuel led administration.

Mr Udoh said, this is despite the fact that the NDDC’s budget size is about that of 9 states with additional income coming to the agency from 2% of the earnings of all multinational oil companies in the region.

Also a media assistant to the Governor who didn’t want to be named said:

“Mr Ekere’s claim of not having the support of the Akwa Ibom State Government is unfounded. The state government has provided all they required from us for the NDDC office Project. The land for the structure was allocated by the State Government in early 2017 to demonstrate the state government’s willingness to partner with the Commission for the good of the state.” he said.

All efforts by Igbere Tv to obtain a reaction from Nsima Ekere was abortive as phone call to his Press secretary, Inem Inah, was not picked up nor returned. SMS sent to his line was also not replied.

Following the outrage on social media last two days that popular Nigerian Singer, Mike Ejeagha is currently living in abject poverty, the executive Governor of Enugu state has visited the singer in his residence today.


Igbere TV gathered Chief Ejeagha expressed delight at the govenor's unscheduled visit to ascertain how he was faring, said he was highly impressed that the governor has transformed Enugu State for the better and also entrenched peace and security in the state, assuring him of his support for his re-election in 2019.

In his words,

"Your Excellency, I m very happy the day I went to hospital at Ogwuagor, Ugwuoye by first bustop, I saw that the roads have been tarred. Thank you very much for the security in Enugu State. We can now go out at night and come back anytime without any fear of attack by men of the underworld. You have our support and God will continue to lead you", the lengendary high-life musican said.

Gov. Ugwuanyi in his remark, told the elder statesman that he had planned the visit earlier, stressing that he came to know how he was faring and see how the state government can assist him in his health and other needs as a revered indigene of the state.

The governor therefore, promised to be paying his medical bills and asked the family to refer his medical details to the state's teaching hospital, Parklane Enugu for adequate attention.

He thanked members of his family, especially the wife and daughter for taking care of him, and offered automatic employment to the daugther to enable her take care of her father, accordingly.

Gov. Ugwuanyi equally visited the Parklane hospital, Enugu, where he paid medical bills of all the children who had been discharged but their parents could not pay their bills.

A’Ibom 2019: Plot by APC to Attack ITAI AFE ANNANG Over Udom Endorsement uncovered


Ahead of 2019 General Election, the plot by the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Akwa Ibom State to attack Itai Afe Annang, HRH Okuku Pius Effiong Eside and other elders of Annang nation for refusing to endorse the party’s candidate, has been uncovered.

Igbere TV gathered that the latest move by the All Progressives Congress, APC, is not unconnected with the Royal Father’s stance that the incumbent Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, be supported for a second term because of his stellar performance and in accordance with the existing zoning arrangement in the state which allows each senatorial district to produce a governor for 8 years with Uyo and Ikot Ekpene senatorial districts completing their turns. In furtherance of this decision, the Royal Father and other elders of like minds are planning a formal reception to endorse the candidature of the governor, a source said in confidence.


Itai Afe Annang, Okuku Pius Effiong Eside, the traditional head of all Annang people at home and in the diaspora, leading a delegation of Annang leaders to endorse Gov Udom Emmanuel few days ago at Govt House, Uyo.

Meanwhile, some highly placed Annang sons who are sympathetic to the APC are uncomfortable with the move and had reportedly sent emissaries to the monarch to prevail on him to jettison the idea. They are said to have offered him large amount of money, which also was turned down.


Those privy to the move say the party is surreptitiously planning to ensure that the ceremony is disrupted should the traditional institution go ahead with the plan. According to our source, top APC members from Annang land believe that if the event is allowed to happen, it would further nail the APC coffin in the area at a time it is losing members to the ruling PDP on a daily basis.

Igbere TV had reported that over 20,000 APC members from Essien Udim led by a former Council Chairman, Mr Martins Umana, last week defected to the PDP; an action that irked the APC chieftains who allegedly sponsored thugs to unleash mayhem at the venue of the event attended by the Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo and other top government functionaries.

…As 20,000 DEFECT AT AKPABIO’S HOMETOWN

The Akwa Ibom State deputy Governor Mr Moses Ekpo, narrowly excaped death today during a political event by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to receive thousands of defectors from the opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, igbere TV reports.

The ceremony, which had many party chieftains, stakeholders and government officials in attendance was the official reception of APC decampees in Essien Udim, home of former Governor Godswill Akpabio to the PDP.

IGBERE TV reports that the occasion which held at the Unity Hall, of the Essien Udim local government council headquarters, saw a massive declaration of support to Governor Udom Emmanuel by former and serving chapter and ward executive council members of the APC, Prince Ukpong Akpabio, a younger brother and former aide to the immediate past Senate minority leader, as well as Chief Michael Afangideh, regarded as Akpabio’s political godfather.
This ceremony was however disrupted when thugs suspected to be supporters of Senator Godswill Akpabio, stormed the venue and launched on the participants, including the state deputy governor, Mr Moses Ekpo.

The thugs allegedly led by one Adionganye Akpabio a cousin to Senator Akpabio and Imo Ibara from Ukana West ward1, arrived in buses and started launching missiles and attacking everyone at the premises while the Deputy Governor was receiving the APC decampees on behalf of the Governor.

They sent people scampering, but for the swift intervention of armed security agents on the delegation of the deputy governor and other state government officials.
The state Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Prince Ukpong Akpabio who spoke to newsmen after the incident, thanked God for the prompt response of the police to arrest the situation.

Prince Akpabio said he was happy that the PDP supporters and youths at the event maintained their calm, and did not attempt to take laws into their hands, as it would have resulted in undesirable consequences.

The miscreants who succeeded in causing injury on some persons, and destroying some vehicles at the venue escaped and jumped into a nearby river at Afaha Ikot Ebak.
A Honda Accord vehicle belonging to the PDP Chapter Chairman in Essien Udim, Hon. Ntiedo Usoro was vandalized by the APC thugs.

They also destroyed some cars and motorcycle belonging to the APC members who defected to the PDP.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters, Elder Ufot Ebong, to Igbere Tv that he was astonished to see that nature of violent attack by the APC thugs, at a mere political meeting.

“I have never seen anything like this, they came armed and they made bonfires on the road and attempted to barricade us inside so they can kill us.” This is very horrible and I am worried about this development,” Elder Ebong said.

Few minutes to the commencement of the event, some of the APC defectors had raised alarm that many of their members who had concluded plans to join them at the Unity Hall to show solidarity for Governor Udom Emmanuel were held hostage at a location by Mr. Nsentip Akpabio, a brother to Senator Akpabio where several offers, including millions of naira and car gifts were allegedly promised should they remain in APC.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Udom Emmanuel, represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, charged Essien Udim people to remain peaceful and welcome government initiatives in the area.

He enjoined them to guard their PVCs jealously and be ready to use it to cast their votes for all PDP candidates standing elections in 2019.

Following the endorsement of the new national minimum wage of N30,000  by President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has revealed what the increase in the workers salary will do to Nigerian Economy.

Umahi said the newly proposed N30,000 minimum wage to civil servants will do more harm than good to the economy.

The Governor stated this at the Presidential Lodge, Abakaliki after inaugurating his re-election campaign team for the 2019 election.

He said, “The reason is that it will cause inflation which is going to sweep out whatever gain you think you have.

“l think we are approaching this issue of minimum wage very wrongly.

“Till we sit down in this country and look at all sides and agree that this is how we are going to do it; otherwise, we will end up grinding this country

“If you say something is wide, we should be able to say how wide it is. I believe that if we harness the resources of this country well, we will have enough to take care of our workers and we will have enough to take care of our health, education and others.

“Civil servants should look beyond minimum wage; even the minimum wage of N30,000 cannot solve their basic needs.”

Popular American singer, Rihanna has warned the president of United States to stop playing her songs at his tragic Rallies.

Igbere TV learnt that Trump played the Barbados singer’s hit song, ‘Don’t Stop the Music’, at his Sunday rally in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In response to a tweet about the development, Rihanna wrote: “Not for much longer… me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies.”

According to Rolling Stone, Rihanna’s legal representatives have sent a cease and desist letter to Trump’s White House counsel.

The letter read in part: “It has come to our attention that President Trump has utilized [Rihanna’s] musical compositions and master recordings, including her hit track ‘Don’t Stop the Music,’ in connection with a number of political events held across the United States.

“As you are or should be aware, Ms. Fenty has not provided her consent to Mr. Trump to use her music. Such use is therefore improper.

“Trump’s unauthorized use of Ms. Fenty’s music… creates a false impression that Ms. Fenty is affiliated with, connected to or otherwise associated with Trump.”

Pharrell Williams, Steven Tyler and the Prince estate have also asked Trump to stop using their songs at his rallies.

OMG!!! 2019: SEE What Happened to 22 Men After Juju Initiation by A/Ibom APC Guber Candidate's Ally (Photos)


Ahead of 2019 General Election, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Emah Bassey, from Akwa Ibom has been exposed after he allegedly administered Juju to 22 members of his Party, All Progressives Congress, APC in the state.

Igbere TV gathered that the lawmaker who has been dragged to the State Police Headquarters, for attempted murder and administering fetish oath known as (Mbiam) on some members of his party to curry support for the 2019 Governorship elections of Mr Nsima Ekere, also refused to pay the 22 Men the agreed sum of money before the Initiation.

Igbere TV also gathered that the former lawmaker has threatened his victims to remain silent or risk incuring supernatural forces that would end their lives abruptly.

One of the victims, Clement Awakessien who spoke with IGBERE TV revealed to our correspondent that his life is at risk. He said the former lawmaker has been threatening to deal with all of them if they didn’t keep quiet over issue.
In his words,

“What you heard is nothing but the truth, that’s what transpired. Although this supposed not to go viral but since it has gone viral, we have nothing again to hide.”

“We have approached him (Hon. Basset) severally to see how this thing can be settled but he has been procrastinating on the issue. So many of us decided to push the case legally to see how it can be settled.”

“He was invited to the police station, although he wanted to deny it but at the end he agreed that it actually happened.”

Mr. Awakessien said many of the victims are crying that the Juju should be removed so that they can move to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, but the former lawmaker has refused because the Juju cannot allow them to move another party.

Also, in a strongly worded petition obtained by Igbere TV which was sent to the state Deputy Commissioner of Police, Comrade Lucky Moses of 59 Ibekwe Road, Ikot Abasi and Comrade Bless Enoidem of Ekpene Ukim Ikot Uno, Nsit Ubium local government area and 21 others alleged that Emmah Bassey admistered fetish oaths on them and contracted them to mobilize support for Mr. Ekere during the APC governorship primaries in the state.
The petition dated October 29,2018 and written on their behalf by Kris & Paul legal service, reads in full:

“Hon. Emah Bassey a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Akwa Ibom State, employed our clients to coordinate and mobilize support for APC Primaries in all local government areas of Akwa Ibom State for Obong Nsima Ekere, the flagbearer and his own deputy Governorship ambition.

“Hon. Emah Bassey promised to pay our clients the sum of Ten Million Naira each and deployed one Udo Ufia Vincent of Ikot Imoh Village in Nsit Ubium local government area, a juju priest, who invoked Juju, (Mbiam) and administered it fraudulently and caused our clients to swear to the ‘Mbiam’ as condition for the job.”

“They queried that no mobilization of any amount was given to them, rather they were encouraged to use their personal funds to execute the job with assurances of immediate refunds and payment of the agreed sum upon completion of the said primaries.”

“They revealed that they were told the primaries would produce Emah Bassey as running mate to Obong Nsima Ekere on the platform of the APC, but lamented that no money has been given to any of them since the primaries ended, as promised.”

“Hon Emah Bassey assured our clients of prompt payment immediately after the primaries but till date, he has not paid any money to our clients, instead, Hon Emah Bassey now threatens our clients that they will die if they demand payment of the money he owes them.”
“That they will die before December 25, 2018. Udo Ufia, the ‘Oku Mbiam’ warned our clients to steer clear of the money otherwise he will destroy them through his Mbiam or any diabolical means.”

The petitioners complained of fear of their lives, as they were currently experiencing drastic deterioration in health and inexplicable symptoms of crawling all over their body.
They also lamented that they their failing health comes with breathlessness that does not respond to orthodox medication.

They prayed for urgent interventions from the police to enable the recovery of their money and to cause the juju priest to end the spell on their health.
Others who are on the danger list include:

Uyo Clement Umoh, Ukeme Fintan, Essien Okwong, Rowland Inwang, Emmanuel Ayakndue, Isaac Cosmas, Clement Awakessien, Christian Inyang, Emmanuel Eyo, Abasifreke Etim, Iniobong Ibia, Godwin Inam, Edeke Akpanim, Enobong Ekong, David David, Ubong Nelson, Patrick Edem, Ekop Ekanem, Michael Iniekung, David Ekpedeme Imeh and Alex Udoh.

All efforts by IGBERE TV to obtain a reaction from Hon. Bassey over the report were fruitless as calls to his line rang out without answer and SMS sent to him was not replied.

Former Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose has lambasted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, after he regained freedom today.
Speaking after he was bailed out, Fayose said he cannot be intimidated to join APC because he is not Godswill Akpabio.
In his words,

“Let me say very expressly that I’m not like my friend, Godswill Akpabio that they used EFCC to intimidate and he joined APC out of fear of going to jail.

“I can’t ridicule myself before my people and entire Nigerians.
Again, I say that they have today but they can’t have tomorrow. These Pharaohs that you see today, tomorrow, we shall see them no more”

Following the pipeline explosion at Osisioma in Abia state that killed many people last week, Igbere TV gathered that angry youths have stormed the NNPC office demanding to see the deport manager.

The Irate youths were seen with a corpse of one of the victims and with placards which read “NNPC stop killing our people”.

One of the protesters, Hon Njoku Chidiebere revealed to Igbere TV that NNPC Osisioma deport has a lot to tell them.

In his words,

Nnpc osisioma deport has a lot to tell us. The deport chief has refused to attend to us but it’s either the deport chief attend to us or we no go go. We no dey laugh again”.

There is currently a heavy tension in Umuaduru, Abia State as a new  leakage in the NNPC pipeline has been detected.

Igbere TV gathered this is the same pipeline that got houses burnt and killed many people.

Igbere TV gathered that calls were made to the NNPC authorities to come and rectify the issue but as at writing this report, they have not been seen.
