Eastlink:Even then, his rabid Igbophobia was in excess. Not even Ogba people could contain such hate for Ndiigbo. I always suspected something was amiss. It's akin to ChinenyeN too. Chai! These Ijaws have been on this mission for a long time. It's akin to the parable of the Bible where the farmer was sleeping and enemies came and sowed tarres in his field. Ndiigbo have been asleep for a long time while these Creek hateful beings went about doing us "akpuruka". He is same person as Alabo, right? And I think I already know his Facebook account name as well. |
Eastlink:I remember when he was claiming to be from Ogba with this moniker. ![]() |
Beautiful. Igbo amaka. |
BKayy: ![]() |
OfoIgbo:Very beautiful map. And I'm happy that Ijaws here have endorsed Basden! When the time is right, we will use Basden and run them out of town. |
BlackSaints:The Okirika people the Colonials met, narrated to them that their ancestors came from Afam in Igboland. And even today when we look at Okirika, we see vestiges of Igbo in them. Why are you Ijaws insisting that obvious hybrid groups made of Igbo, Ibibio and Ijaw in Rivers State like Okirika and Kalabari must be Ijaw and Ijaw alone while the other important two aspect of their origin be discarded? Why are you not comfortable with your Bayelsa 4 LGA and few LGA of Delta state homeland? Why do you insist that all historical accounts be discarded for your modern day land grab fraudulent stories? In Eastern region, Kalabari, Okirika, were all regarded as independent groups. These groups serve as melting points between the Igbo, the Ibibio and the Ijaw. And you can go write it down somewhere, because I noticed that you lots are quick to threaten violence ("Come and claim it offline') each time you get beaten by historical facts in online debate, Ndiigbo will never allow Kalabari and Okirika stand as anything but independent ethnicities post Nigeria independence. There is no Ijaw in Rivers State, and that's how it will be. You will be "touched" offline at the appropriate time to maintain this order, if you insist on physical confrontation rather than on factual historical documentation to settle issues. Ijaw starts and ends in Bayelsa State. Any one not in Bayelsa who is claiming Ijaw will have to learn this at the appropriate time. It's not a threat, it's a promise, Ndiigbo will not allow hostile teeth filing Ijaws from Bayelsa and Delta to surround us in the East. You will be well and truly checkmated and contained. |
Ekealterego:Ok. Thanks. Vintagepipes did a good job in you absence. Thanks to him too. |
OfoIgbo:You have put a nail on his coffin. It's game, set and match! Court dismissed! |
Infact, Basden actually concede that Bonny is Igbo, because he was actually talking about other coastalplacess neighboring Bonny where Igbos were not Aboriginals and not about Bonny itself. OfoIgbo. Good job. |
OfoIgbo:True. I was about making a comment on that. Neighborhood of Bonny simply means around. Bonny but not in Bonny itself. And from the map, Ijaw is located in Neighborhood of Bonny. It makes sense now. |
OfoIgbo:Basden gave a description of Igboland and went on to represent it in a map. You provided the map. Now here is the description. He noted also the Delta regions of the Igbo being of different topography as the hinterland.
|
OfoIgbo:By the way, this map is from Basden book. You can check it out here: https://archive.org/details/amongibosofniger00basd/page/67/mode/1up?q=Bonny&view=theater Just scroll to the last page. |
OfoIgbo:Ijaw desperation to annex Opobo and Bonny will cost them 2/3 of Bayelsa and the whole of Rivers State. |
JANK23H:Desperation is getting the better of you. Basden concluded that the Ibos in Bonny were "chiefly" of slave origin and evidently were not Indigenous there, he was only stating the obvious. The Ibo slaves of Bonny obviously we're not Indigenous there. You have to understand the word "chiefly". It also was silent on origin of the Bonny kings and chiefs. Glynn, Baike and Captain Crow handled that. Also by Basden admission. Odual, Degema, Epie-Attisa, Engenni, Abua, are not Ijaws. ![]() I wonder where that leaves you. I guess rightly confined in your 4 LGAs in Bayelsa? |
JANK23H:Nope. It proves nothing. You are over reaching. Haha! Basden never interviewed Bonny chiefs and couldn't have been able to make that conclusion. |
JANK23H:Basden talked of Igbo slaves in Bonny being non Indigenous. He made no note on Bonny chiefs and kings. Is this piece of information lost on you? Those who made notes on Bonny kings and chiefs all without exception got told by the kings that they were of Igbo origin. That's the missing link to the blank Basden left. Glynn, Captain Crow and Baike gave us unfiltered info on the origin of Bonny kings and early Aboriginals which Basden didn't, except the recognition that the Igbo slaves in Bonny were not Indigenous to the lsland. That's like stating the obvious. Of course they are not Indigenous there. But the Indigenous Bonny kings were all of Igbo origin! Glynn, Captain Crow and Baike told us this. Basden never contradicted this as at no point did he claim that head of Bonny houses and the kings were Ijaw or Igbo. He was blank on that. You are basically trying to build something on nothing! To be able to overrule Captain Crow, Arthur Glynn, Talbot, and Baike take on Igbo origin of Bonny Aboriginals and kings. You would have to show where Basden claimed they were Ijaw! And even if you could, which is impossible because Basden never said such, it would only be Basden vs Glynn, Baike, Captain Crow and Talbot. That's 1 vs 4. |
JANK23H:It's very important, because Basden was particular at the Igbo slaves he. Found on Bonny who were rightly not Indigenous there, and then erroneously extrapolated to cover everything else Igbo in Bonny. At no point did he try to find out the origin of the heads of houses of Bonny. He ignorantly assumed them to be non Igbo even without getting any information on that from them. Basden opinion on this is therefore flawed and pales in comparison when placed side by side with those of Captain Crow, Baike and Glynn who interviewed both the Igbo slaves and Kings of Bonny. Thank you. |
Ofodirinwa:Some of you lack tact. What exactly is the aim of this thread? |
JANK23H:Tribes of the Niger Delta and their religion. |
Alabo7978:What about Talbot, Glynn or Baike? |
JANK23H:Basden at no point interviewed the chiefs of Bonny on their origin. Infact his work was never about the origin of Bonny. He merely assumed that because the majority of the slaves were of Igbo origin and because Igbo hinterland was far away, therefore Igbos were not Indigenous to Bonny. If he interviewed the Bonny chiefs and asked for list of past Bonny kings and their Origin like Arthur Glynn, William Baike and Captain Crow all did. He would have gotten the same story of Bonny founder being an Igbo from Igbo hinterland!. See Glynn, Baike, and Captain Crow quotes on that.
|
JANK23H:Yet you rushed to quote Talbot who only made a guess using "Perhaps" on the antiquity of Ijaw, while directly quoting same Captain Crow you don't take serious on the Igbo origin of Bonny! You don't take Captain Crow serious, but you quote a book written by a man who took him serious enough to quote him. ![]() |
OfoIgbo:Please don't wait for him. They are usually allergic to any historical document not printed in the 60s upwards, when they started their revisionism. If you have the map, share it to edify the audience. I see many people peeping in as guests. |
Eastlink:Ndiigbo as a people in due time will need to spend big to unravel and expose the conspiracy surrounding the Ijaw sudden appearance in our coasts. Yes! Dede Chibu had shown how the Portuguese created the Bini tribe to help them in their slave raids. But they didn't need such in the East, since the Efiks and Bonny Igbos were already playing along. But again you wonder why the Efik who were the main players in the slave trade with Portuguese in the East initially had to be expanded westwards by moving them to Bom(old name for the land where New Calabar was founded) and then have their numbers swelled up quickly with the aid of Aros and their Abam and Edda warriors. What was the plan? |
JANK23H:Through the memoirs of Captain Crow, we know that Aros not only conducted the Efik founders of New Calabar, but settled among them and ruled them as kings. See receipt below. Captain Crow noted that the majority of the inhabitants of New Calabar and Bonny as of that point in time were on the majority Igbos, the kings of Bonny and New Calabar were of Igbo origin too. Also, Asari Dokubo admitted that his great grandfather was of Abam( Aro) origin and ruled Buguma!

https://www.nairaland.com/500126/true-extent-alaigbo-igboland/8 This is an old thread on Igbo true extent which ended in hot debate on Opobo and Bonny. We couldn't finish the job then because Ijaws had a spy in ChinenyeN who claimed Ngwa and worked greatly against Ndiigbo here undetected. You could see Dede1 contributions on that thread as well. |
BKayy:But why did all the early anthropologists all ignored this fact. Why did none of them mention it! I mean, a simple look at Ijaw skin color and their language shows that they are aliens and not native to southern NIGERIA. They have nothing in common with the Indigenous Edoid, Igboid,Yoruboid and Ibibiod Aboriginals of Southern Nigeria. Their language also sticks out. European porters brought them to our shores, yet they mysteriously failed to record and state it clearly in all their memoirs. Something is fishy. What do you think? |
BKayy:There is an old timer here, a Biafra civil war veteran by the name Dede1. As early as 2007, he came up with the theory on this forum that Ijaws were porters who accompanied Portuguese slave ships from Sierra Leone and Ghana to our coasts in Niger Delta. It appeared outlandish and out of place then. |
BKayy:Yes I saw it, the Portuguese ship part. Could that be the confirmation of what we have always suspected, which is that Ijaws are truly descendants of ship porters from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana,Togo and other coastal West Africa, who accompanied the Portuguese ships to our shores? I remember Dede1 (Deridegul) kept hitting on this link between Ijaw sudden appearance in Southern Nigeria and the appearance of Portuguese slave ships! |
BKayy:The least Ndiigbo will accept is New Calabar standing as an independent municipality like Monaco. Never will we accept an Ijaw annexed New Calabar post NIGERIA dissolution. |
JANK23H:Nope. But it was stated that Aros accompanied them from old Calabar to their current location. So we know that they had Igbo components right from the beginning, even before they had contacts with Ijaws. Captain Crow confirmed that the King of New Calabar was of Igbo origin. You can't rule a people if you don't settle amongst them. The whole point is that New Calabar is a hybrid group, and in the future, Ndiigbo will never accept them being annexed by Ijaws. We will insist they remain as an independent nation connecting the Igbos, Ibibios (Efik) and Ijaws as they use to be in the old Eastern region before the unfortunate events of 1967-70, and not claimed by Ijaws single handedly as has been the case since after 1970. |
Senomii:Mr Man. Ndiigbo are not the reason why you are frustrated in this life. Go and hustle and make money and stop hating a people better than you and wherever hole you crawled out from. |

. fake Ogba boy. Dude could understand Igbo as well. Can you tell any red flag to Alabo's moniker
