Expert17:It was a fluke, bro. Reaching a final and losing isn’t an achievement. It’s failure. He was Aguero’s offside decision from getting eliminated. Android17:He had lost the plot? Why would Poch leave the current team he’s managing for United if he has any ambition? Why would any manager want to quit managing Messi/Neymar/Mbappe and opt for McFred/Maguire/Shaw? It should tell you a lot about Poch’s loser mentality. |
Android17:No away win from January to November(when he was deservedly sacked). Not even Ole was that poor. |
Android17:So his first major trophy was at PSG where even a goat could win a trophy? Nothing won at Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs? The point is Tuchel won something even before going to PSG. These margins are very important. |
Android17:The same Poch(with a much better squad) finished 3rd in a 2 horse race with Ranieri’s Leicester. The same Poch went a whole year without an away win with an attack including Kane, Son, Eriksen, Alli, Llorente, etc. The same Poch copped only 26 points in his last 24 PL games at Spurs. The same Poch lost 2-7 scandalously to Bayern Munich at home. The same Poch took beatings from lowly rated Colchester and Brighton before he got sacked. He had a better squad than those two clubs. I can actually make an argument that Ole is marginally better than Poch. |
MRTA7:Carrick could become Hansi Flick. He won’t be the first underrated interim manager to turn things around. |
Oasis007:There’s little hope, no Luke Shaw. |
Silentgroper:Carrick should remain as caretaker until any of the United targets is available. At least with Carrick, the expectations are minimal. Poch is the worst of the lot. It is going to be another Ole cycle again. After 3 years, Poch would leave the club in 15th position without winning anything. Why should United sack Ole for this? ![]()
|
Botfuss:This is exactly what Carragher was saying about Ole. Carragher said he likes listening to managers’ perspective about games. How they analyze or how they set up attacks and discuss the specifics. He said each time he tries to listen to Ole, he never speaks about these things(creating spaces, overloading one flank, etc). All you hear from Ole is DNA, attack attack attack, United tradition, etc. Ole will never break a game down into specifics. He cannot tell you why/how a goal was scored. He doesn’t understand any of these things. It’s just vibes and insha allah. |
Android17:Tuchel had won the German cup in 16/17, a couple of league titles with PSG, etc. Poch was in the PL for almost 7 years and he won nothing throughout. |
Panther7:Joel Glazer’s first choice is Zidane. |
MRTA7:Other options are the Ajax dude or Ragnick. And this is my problem with the Glazers. During the summer, there were about 7 top managers without a job. That was when they should have axed Ole but they waited and waited until all those managers got jobs. Android17:Poch is shit. In a 2-horse race that he was involved in with Leicester in 15/16, he still managed to finish 3rd. Is Poch better than Ole? Their highest finish = 2nd Both of them bottled a European final. So I am asking again, why should United sack Ole and sign Poch? I’d rather they re-hire Ole than sign Poch. I don’t see how Poch would improve the current United side. |
Android17:Manchester’s weather is terrible to be honest. It’s always raining or drizzling there. No one would swap the weather in Madrid for Manchester unless the money is totally worth it. The language barrier is no issue at all. There are many French speaking players in the squad. Bielsa can’t speak a word in English and he’s been in England for how many years now. |
MRTA7:Joel Glazer has cranked up the pressure as at yesterday night to get Zidane by all means necessary. His wife can stay in France. Zidane can take the Eurostar to see her every now and then. It’s 2 hours trip by Train(less time than some people spend commuting to work). Pochettino’s record in the PL is nothing to write home about. If Pochettino is the answer then there was no reason to sack Ole. Why should we go from Ole to this?
|
MRTA7:Zidane is available, Woodward is yet to present an offer he cannot refuse. The next World Cup ends around Christmas 2022. So the earliest Zidane can take the French National Team job is January 2023. If we cannot convince Zidane to manage United between now and 2023 then it’s our fault, not his fault. United should go back with an improved package and a promise that he would have total control of transfers and adequate funds would be provided. |
slimghost:So you would take Poch who has won nothing meaningful in his career over Zizou that won La Liga(twice) and UCL(3 times in a row). The only thing you can guarantee with Poch is finishing in the top 4. United won’t stay satisfied with finishing top 4 with the squad at their disposal. Anything short of winning the league/CL will be considered failure and I don’t think Poch can challenge Pep/Klopp/Tuchel. Was it not the same Poch that allowed Leicester to win the league in 2015/16 even though he had a better squad than Leicester? Poch is shit. He’s like Moyes. Just because he can thrive in a team that has top 4 as it’s target does not mean he’s ready to take a massive club like United to a league title. Zidane knows what it takes to win the big trophies, Poch does not have a clue. His team will play good football and then lose the vital games when it matters. I already experienced that under Ole(bottling 6 semifinals against minnows). If Zidane is available, he should be the #1 choice. A proper winner should be managing United, not apprentices like Ole or Poch. |
Roland17:Poch is shit but anyone better than Ole is welcome for now. However, if Poch screws up, he would get sacked too. The Glazers have now shown that handing a contract to any manager isn’t a bulletproof vest. They have now sacked Mourinho/Ole in the same year they were given a new contract. The fact that Poch wants to leave a team that has Messi/Mbappe/Neymar to United should tell even the dumbest person that Poch has no ambition. Let Poch come, the same standards applied to Jose and Ole shall be applied to him. He has no excuses but to deliver. He’s managed in this league before so he would even get less leeway than Ole. At this point, only Zidane makes sense. If he’s not available, any other person shall be welcome. |
Joezinho:He’s the best.

Wanbissaka: ![]() You should receive in the next few minutes. Your bravery has made you rich. ![]() |
Wanbissaka:You passed the first test. ![]() The second test(the final test) is for you to write a comment that “KingAlabi and the other Olesexuals are morons.” Once you write that, put your bitcoin wallet address under the comment so you can be blessed this day. |
melodyogonna:Shaw’s performance on the pitch has already embarrassed him. Mourinho repeating what he saw on the pitch does not add any damage. Everyone can see an underperforming player. How has it worked for Ole that doesn’t like embarrassing his players in public? You want players to improve but you don’t want them to understand there are consequences for failure? How would that player improve? This is why Jose has 25 major trophies in his career and Ole has 0. Lest I forget, Mourinho has kept his promise with the Ghanaian kid. This is bullying according to you. Buying Balenciaga boots worth €800 for a kid that was playing for a high school in Ghana last year is bullying.
|
melodyogonna:What’s wrong with saying the truth that most people already know. Everyone knows player XYZ is shit. We all saw his performance during the game so why would saying the truth about player XYZ in a press conference considered a felony? It’s almost as if people demand the truth all the time but they are not ready to be told the truth if it puts them in a negative light. Mourinho is the most honest manager in the game. He says things as he sees it, no sugarcoating. If Shaw is shit then let it be known he’s shit. |
melodyogonna:Yeah, challenging players to do better in a job they are paid millions of pounds is bullying. If the player responds to his methods, who takes the credits? When Hazard won all the individual accolades in 14/15 season, did Mourinho steal the awards from him? |
melodyogonna:Apparently, he does. You were here when people said he bullied Shaw or he doesn’t do well with young players. |
melodyogonna:To remind you Olesexuals that he’s the best we have had since SAF retired. Ole is a United legend so is O’Shea or Anderson. ![]() |
slimghost:The standards were set too low for him. It’s ridiculous and people are paying tributes like he won us a treble before the sack. I cannot pay any nonsense tribute to a manager that won nothing or pay tribute because he’s a nice guy. Football is a result business. If I am looking for a nice guy, I would visit a church or a mosque. |
Wanbissaka:Hehehehe Are you OleIn or OleOut? |
Joezinho:Ole cannot clean Rooney’s boot never mind sharing the legendary status with Rooney. Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, George Best, Ryan Giggs, etc are the legends. Ole isn’t one of them but English people are weird for a reason. They are the only group of people I know who would focus on irrelevant factors/indices other than the primary objective. If you are a footballer who runs a lot(despite contributing nothing to the team), English people would love you for the endeavor. If you smile a lot too, you would get their love. This is why the 3 Lions haven’t won a spoon in 55 years. Southgate continues to fail as a manager and he just got another contract signed this morning, there are rumors he might even get a knighthood and he has won nothing. In any other football country, Southgate would be sacked. The main objective in other places is to win a trophy, other factors rarely matter to them but the reverse is the case in England. |
Joezinho:The word legend has been abused. Bayern Munich weren’t going into that final thinking about the damage Ole might cause them. He was never in their plans of the players to shadow. That could have contributed to the reason why he scored that goal. No one paid him no mind. He was no existential threat to Ossei-Kuffour. Pundits have also erased Ted Sheringham’s contribution out of that story. Yet it was Ted that scored the equalizer and also assisted the Ole goal with a flick of his head. If you go on the streets of the red half of Manchester today and ask any kid, they would tell you how legendary Ole is but they might not even know who Ted is. That’s what smiling and being a decent human being can get you in England. A player that smiles gets more media coverage than the one that doesn’t regardless of their contribution on the pitch. Ole’s PR machine is more legendary than the player. ![]() |
jOsE mOUriNHo dOEs nOT liKE YoUNG pLaYErS. This is how Mourinho motivates young players. Those with ambition simply take the challenge and do better. Lazy idiöts like Shaw and Martial take this subtle challenges as bullying and wilt from the pressure. Luke “I have proven Mourinho wrong” Shaw has gone back to his gutter standards. Many people claim he’s improved under Ole but he didn’t. He only stepped it up a bit when he realized he was about to be replaced by Telles. 18 year old Ghanaian rose to Jose’s challenge and he would be getting a new pair of boots this morning. With Jose, you either swim or sink. There’s no coddling or pampering like Ole does.
|
MRTA7:I don’t think Expert17 is wrong in Ole’s assessment as a player. He wasn’t good enough to start many of the games in that great team. Ole was a substitute player at best. His legendary status came in one moment of toe-poking in a final. In 20 years time, Liverpool fans would be singing Divock Origi’s name as a legend because he came in as a substitute in a Champions League final to score an important goal for Klopp, yet we hardly ever see Origi in a Liverpool shirt start a game. Ole scored 92 PL goals in 10 seasons, that’s hardly a legendary achievement. |
handelex:He will forever be the clueless one. The worst manager in living memory.
