It truly is all that bad since once the term is up they return to their ordinary mundane lives with no path to progression. Temporary success is worst than no success because you've tasted it and are now being effectively deprived of it.

Some stay for years even if they go home to visit. They stay and learn sewing, catering, etc and are able to cater for themselves and stand on their own. They can't be maids for life

The ones i know of. One said her brother was building a house for her with the money she was paid(even if we found it hard to believe although when converted from naira to their money, it makes sense) but when she visited home last December, she found out that her money had been spent.

I am not just speaking for speaking sake. I know for a fact that either they are paid or an agreement is reached.

Yes they can help without using them...but these maids are paid monthly. So it is not even a matter if being used. They are paid and most times sent to school or to learn a trade.

The crazy thing is that their so called families are the ones that use them and swindle them of their money. They collect the money and do not remit it to her.

Some of these young girls are better off as maids because they get more benefits. They could be in their houses doing even more work and there is no money to educate or equip them for the future.

My friend's maid went with them to Dubai for vacation. My aunty's maid is in school. The one that was taking care of my mum cried when she had to go back. It's not all bad especially when you are developing the person

It is our place as Christians to be able to separate the wheat from the chaff rather than rejoice when there is a story of a "fumbling" pastor.

A lot of people that claim to be Christians are always happy to point out how one Pastor is doing this or that. The fact that there are fake pastors is evidence that there are real Pastors.

Personally, i won't stay in a church where the Pastor tries to scam me. I will move on and find a genuine place.

Many pastors just say things from their own understanding and personal ideas not directed from God.

May God give us wisdom and sense to know who truly serves him.

I know their ways. I married into a JW though my husband had already left jw years before. I remember recently my mum inlaw inlaw and I were in my family house and she refused to join morning devotion. When i asked her later, she said she doesn't understand the songs being sang.
Me and her have had discussions and i just decided not to discuss our preferences because we will never agree.

Did you read the above verse? That was Jesus Christ speaking to his disciples and giving them a great commission. They are to go into all parts of the world and preach the gospel to every human on earth.

Today, the group called Jehovah's Witnesses often pride themselves saying they are the only ones doing that assignment given by Jesus Christ. Whenever they make such statement, they hardly get any objection cos most people have at one time had them knock on their door to preach to them. I also fell for that talk from them which made me see them as the only ones fulfilling Christ's commission. It made me feel bad about folds in Christianity cos I can't recall the last time someone approached me to preach.

Over the years, I've come to realize how much of a falsehood the statement is and how it positions them to reap from where they did not sow.
Where were the JW when Christians were facing challenges spreading the gospel in difficult parts of the world? Do you know the trouble faced by the missionaries who brought Christianity to Africa and even South America? They battled malaria, diseases, voodoo, ritualists, hostile communities, pagan beliefs and culture, wickedness, cannibalism etc. Yet, God helped them succeeded. That's why we have Christianity in Africa and other parts of the world. Did the JW face any of those or were part of those missionaries? NO.

When the missionaries had succeeded in establishing Christianity in major places, the JW now showed up when conditions had become favorable. What they are doing now is going from door to door, trying to convert Christians and turn them to JW. It now becomes nauseating that they are boasting of being the only organization that preaches from door to door. Where was the JW organization when conditions were harsh?

If they really want sensible people to accept their claims, then they should go establish in a ground that is hostile. They should try and establish Kingdom Halls in hostile Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc. They should go preach from door to door and see if they will last a day. Yet, we have Christian bodies in those countries going through the storm of persecution in those countries.

The Europe where JW are at peace today, do they know what the Catholic Church faced before Christianity could be established there?

So, before a JW boasts to you of how is Organization are the only ones preaching from door to door, let him know that they were never around when conditions were harsh and hostile.

More like knock on your door to argue with you and impose their beliefs.
