iykrion:You got there before me.I don't actually believe those pictures were from a Bank interview |
ocho cinco:I suppose you are refering to the fact that in Burma, religion has served as a symbol of positive change. That is true but one has to note that the regime is Buddhist and has expended Govt money building Temples and suppressing other faiths. The larger issue is the deletrious effect the rise of China can have on international relations. The Burmese regime is maintained in China and China has been a stumbling block to international efforts to get the regime to change its ways, just as in Darfur. For those who are gripped in blinding anti-American prejudice, wait till China becomes a superpower. |
denex:You seem to exhibit an allergy towards logic. The problem is violence inspired or justified in the name of religion which certainly applies to the violence in Kano.Trying to gloss over the obviously religious elements of the violence makes you look like another apologist engaged in an absurd charade of denial. There is a natural tendency for a Muslim, out of religious pride, to seek to distance his faith from embarrasing co-adherents.However,in doing this,it makes it difficult for the problem to be solved. We need to re-educate these youths but how can that happen when we engage in denial as to the root causes of the problem? |
jerrymania:Alan Perrin(ex-Portsmouth manager) is managing Lyon,he will certainly get the sack. There have been rumours of dressing room issues and he has been doubted even before he started. He was not helped by the likes of Wiltord,Malouda,Abidal and Cacapa leaving-those were key players and they haven't been properly replaced. Avram Grant probably won't be on the job by winter, mainly because of the licensing issues. Jol would have been let go already, the key problem was that Spurs couldn't persuade Juande Ramos to replace him.Ramos is holding out for a better offer from a big club. Schuster has been excellent so far, they are topping La Liga and I see no reason to include him here. |
I'm thinking its time Scholes was rested alongside Giggs.Once Hargreaves gets back,he should be starting alongside Carrick.Scholes has been operating too deep, leaving a lot of gap between attack and the centre of midfield. He no longer has the pace or energy to cover the distance. Nani had a decent game, even Anderson showed flashes of brilliance. The key thing is that we secured all 3 points, win the next 2 games against D.Kiev and we are through to the next round with 2 games to spare. Rio was outstanding at the back.I thought we were too cautious and played without any sense of urgency. The pace was too slow and this suited Roma.Hopefully,as the attacking trio of Rooney,Ronaldo and Tevez regain full fitness,we will be up and running. |
iykrion:If the leadership is "championing the cause of the people",why are those same people fleeing to other nations? Why would you flee a nation that champions your cause for one that doesn't?You mentioned Africa, you don't need Einstein to inform you that the leadership in Africa doesn't champion the cause of Africans. You must have heard of the word 'non-alignment'. The US has no right to meddle in Iranian internal affairs. He was voted in, he did not become the president by way of coup d'etat. There are laws and decisions making bodies in Iran.Does the US meddle in Iranian internal affairs? The only way I see such meddling is in its calls for human rights to be upheld inside Iran, such calls are not unique to Iran. This is the same Iran that meddles in the internal affairs of Lebanon,Iraq and Afghanistan. In Lebanon, sponsoring a sectarian militia group that kills Christians and Sunni Muslims.A meddler cannot demand not to be meddled with. You may call concerns about Iran's nuclear program "meddling in internal affairs" but Iran has international proliferation treaty obligations which it has failed to satisfy. Its treaty obligations are not internal affairs but international affairs. As for the "election" of Ahmadinejad. This is an election in which the Reformist candidates(who won 70% of the vote in the previous elections)were banned.Imagine having US Presidential elections in which all Democratic candidates are banned. The "election" will be a straightforward contest between one GOP candidate and the other.Would you like elections in Nigeria to be contested by only the PDP? You may also want to 'stroke your information keyboard' and avail me of the 'knowledge' as regards where to find the nuclear weapons that took the US and her allies to Iraq. Not even the US claimed that there were nukes in Iraq. Oh! I forgot that the US did not destabilize Iraq,Of course Iraq was on oasis of stability, that is why more than 2 million had perished between 1980 and 2003. also that the US does not have any kind of selfish economic interest in Iraq (like oil, etc) in particular and the middle-east in general, and therefore will stop at nothing in destroying the reputation of her percieved stonewallers. This is the language of ignorance.Of course, every interested country in that region has selfish interests, including Iran,no one has selfless interests. The question is finding a balance between the selfish interests of the US and that of Iran.Singling out the US for criticism is boneheaded. Some of the talk about US interests in oil is driven more by ignorance than knowledge. The US does not get to buy oil at a discount from its allies in the region.Iran sells to the West at the same price as Bahrain. If Iran calls for the death of America a thousand times a day, it is because Iran sees the US as an enemy, afterall America is not the only country in the world. If Iran admittedly sees the US as an enemy, then the US is justified in seeing Iran as a hostile nation. Is it supposed to turn the other cheek? You so much defend the US, pray, tell me, why is the US working on a legislation (NOPEC) to outlaw OPEC? Another kind gesture from the US, or is it otherwise? Is that not the sacred "internal affairs" of the US?How is it your business what legislation they pass, how does that affect OPEC.In reality, the OPEC's biggest customer is the US,no US no OPEC. Let me state here for the purpose of records that, I am not a sympathiser of the Iranian question. I'm only saying that we should look beyond America's surreptious selfish interest. You have already made a value judgement of US interests, whereas you described the Iranians as merely "championing their people's causes".Have you thought that such causes may also be surreptitious? You castigate one side, exculpate the other, and yet you try to convey the impression of objectivity. This time it might not be only in the Mid-East, it might spread to America, Europe, Asia etc. We must try to avert this imminent World War III, as predicted by Nostradamus.Even going by Nostradamus' laughable "prophecies",the danger to world peace emanates from a Middle Eastern country not from the US. |
If you want to. |
but so what! Islam was around since the beginning of creation, and will still be here long after your bones -and your posts have crumbled into dust!
So will prostitution,pedophilia,murder,injustice.e.t.c but we still have to speak against them.Since you are not bothered by all the pesky posts about Islam, why have you been reacting to them? @ mdsocks they know Islam( the answeringislam.com version )What about the Bin Laden version, the Taleban version, the defiling-9-year-olds version ![]() |
Big B1:Enlightening you will take an act of God |
mdsocks:Are the likes of Abu Musab Zarqawi,Bin Laden,Zawahiri et al Buddhist,Hindus or Muslims? To the best of my knowledge, they are Muslims. They believe in Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger. They believe that the Koran is the Word of Allah. You may disagree as to how they intreprete their faith, but to deny that they are Muslims is preposterous. So i must kill someone or throw bombs before i qualify as a muslimComplete non-sequitur. Its sympathy for fellow brothers and not ReligionThose fellow brothers are obviously Muslim brothers. So,presumably, people who you just just claimed are not Muslim are fighting out of sympathy for their Muslim brothers. So why would a "non-Muslim" be fighting for Muslims? These people carry out their violence quoting copiously from the Koran and the Hadiths. You pointed out that Almajiris know the Holy Quran of heartOnce again, the fact that a Muslim,in your opinion, has misinterpreted his religion doesn't mean they are non-Muslim or that their actions are unrelated to Islam. When Christians burned people at the stakes, they did it,erroneuosly but undoubtedly under the belief that the Bible supported their actions. We can get into the theological underpinnings of Islamic violence, but whatever our actual judgement as to whether Islam is inherently peaceful or not,the fact remains(as vindicated by an ever growing stack of dead bodies) that Islam, validly or not,has been cited by the very perpetrators of the violence as justifying their violent behaviour. Islam is peace: it is people who seeit has violentThis ignores the fact that Muhammad, unlike Jesus,Buddha and Confucius, engaged in violence. What irony!I can also give you verses which support violence.More importantly,Muslims are encouraged to emulate the life of Muhammed.Given that Muhammad was also a warrior, they would inevitably be inclined to war. |
Big B1:I guess when you are starving in South Sudan,it matters whether Bush is giving aid out of benevolence or pragmatism. Of course, the massive increases in aid started as soon as his entered office,so unless he became unpopular before he became President,it couldn't have been a cunning plan to divert attention. At least you were honest enough to admit that he has done a lot for Africa. |
Hopefully, the man's kidney will pack up soon. |
Leave Muki,I go discipline am tommorow Did you see the Samurai Muslim warrior who contemplated "slicing people" merely because she gets "irritating" queries about her beliefs ? -https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-80004.0.html |
If not why are the muslims in the south not killing other christains?. . . . its also practically unwise. In the North, they have the strenght of numbers. Obviously, mdsocks is trying to absolve Islam of blame and instead, placing blame on the people of the North. Its a tried and tested technique of the apologists-don't blame the religion, blame the people .Failure to adhere to this tactic, instantly generates cries of Islamophobia,as if attacking people is more ethical than attacking religion. The riot was sparked, purpotedly by Muhammad cartoons, which same cartoons sparked riots in Bangladesh(who believe it or not aren't Hausa/Fulani) and which same or similar cartoons have sparked riots in other places which have one common denominator-Islam. . . .not Hausa/Fulani people or culture. |
iykrion:I think his denial of the existence of homosexuals, which is akin to the denial of the existence of left-handed people, has been incredibly damaging to his image and to a lesser extent, his country. I agree, at some base level,he is intelligent, otherwise he couldn't have become President. He is certainly not cataclysmically boneheaded but he is no Einstein.I think his political progress owes to a large extent,to his subscription to the Shia fanatical agenda, which subscription requires a certain level of cretinousness(all that drivel about the 12th Imam). I think his intelligence is at the barely functional level. |
Israel is well within its right to declare Gaza a "hostile territory",it being controlled by Hamas,a terror organisation sworn to the destruction of Israel on theological grounds.Hamas, the prevailing authority, does view Israel as a hostile territory, thus,Isreal's actions amount to mere reciprocation. Israel is undoubtedly at war with Hamas,a blockade constitutes a legitimate instrument of war in accordance with the Geneva Conventions of 1949.The Conventions contain a caveat-"free passage of all consignments of food-stuffs, clothing and tonics intended for children under fifteen, expectant mothers, and maternity cases"-Fourth Convention, art. 23.Israel has asserted that it intends to comply with this and more. The suggestion by the "poster" that Israel intends to cut of water and food supplies is brazenly misleading. While a legal case can be made,as made above, for restrictions of such supplies,Israel has indicated clearly that it intends to allow such supplies. One has to wonder as to the basis for the assumed supposition-that Israel must literally feed Gaza-if the Palestinians intend to turn Gaza into part of an independent Palestnian state, self sufficiency is a must. One can't help but marvel at the irony in moaning that a people whose destruction you are sworn to,must continue to feed you. |
It started with Bill O'Reilly's grandmother. And it blew up into charges of O'Reilly being called a racist and me being attacked as a "Happy Negro" (read that as a lackey or Uncle Tom). http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1666573,00.html |
denex:Are we to deduce from the above that you may have some sympathy for Luther's writings? |

Fantastic match!!!!What was Kaboul doing celebrating for so long, they should have gone for the 5th!!O'Neill messed up by introducing Harewood who offered no outlet. What they needed was to stiffen the midfield. Anyway,O'Neill's error contributed to an outstanding game.Defoe should have been brought on at half time.He was very lively. |
Isn't it clear to your challenged mind that the earlier and and later parts of your statements are contradictory and render your posts meaningless. The few occasions you speak for yourself, without resorting to "from my inbox" articles, you manage to tie yourself into a state of confusion. No wonder you rely on "from my inbox" articles since you are too inept to make your points with any sense of clarity.I ask you again, why should Christians respond in kind,is the machinery of justice in the hands of the Christian? |
@Afam Inquire into your bloodline. . . .its either that or your upbringing as alluded earlier They say you can't even herd cows. ![]() So you have admitted that you are a petty trader in Lagos. . . so why are you pretending to be knowledgeable just because the internet allowed you to rub minds with people who are more exposed than you. |
Christians should respond in kind is a bizzarre and foolish way of stating that the wheels of justice should take its full course.Only a man of incoherent inclinations could state such. |
romeo:Nwoke a na ekwu ka "ewu Hausa",odi ka "bastards" ndi Hausa mu oge agha Biafra. Odika ichu efi aka akalia mma |
@osereka This one you dey follow me around like homo, wetin imbecille like you dey find for discussion forum? No be must say u go talk something.I dey speak to u in pidgin because say na the best way,a benighted imbecille like you fit comprehend wetin I dey write |
The internet gave an opportunity for petty Lagos traders to pretend to be scholars. You know your exposure is restricted to Wawa politics ![]() |
Afam:At worst you were advocating that Christians kill Muslims,at best you are guilty of your typical muddled thinking. What does Christians responding in kind mean ?Is it up to Christians to dispense justice? |
