RabbiDoracle: If I am to go by interpreting charts o, banks should start to fly by tomorrow. 10 10 percent rise. Where there is maximum fear, the bull lurks around.
There is a strong positive divergence. Very strong.
My Oga which of the indicators do you use with the ASI chart to spot divergences? |

RabbiDoracle: Yes.
US, EU and Japan deployed QE because they all had deflation (negative inflation). Prices were not rising so they needed to spend themselves out from it. So lots of money chasing few assets. This was from 2008 till 2016 before they started to tighten.
Now there is a health crisis and it has caused an economic STOP globally. You need to help businesses and the people as well. They need to spend because they are out of job. After this health issue stops, you are in a world with excessive cash. If not managed well, lots of people will take the cheap loans and bid everything. Later it will cause inflation.
How will fed react? Increase interest rates? Those with loans gets wiped out instantly. Assets will be sold off globally. Exchange rate will depreciate globally. Everybody Oso Abiola! Taking notes |

Mills55: Please Ma'am, will I still qualify for Gtb dividend if I buy tomorrow? Since tomorrow is the markdown. As it stands, I gave my analogue stockbroker instruction to buy, but I don't think my bid was successful. Cashcraft can really delay. Please leave analogue brokers, open an account with a broker that offers an online trading platform and save yourself headache. If people here including me begin to relate our experience with Cashcraft this thread go full. I wonder how they are still in business. |

pluto09: The stock has been on my radar for sometimes now. I was waiting for the price to drop but unfortunately I chickened out at my target entry price thinking price would drop lower.... To avoid missing out such opportunities why not buy in tranches. When your target purchase price is met you can but a bit and observe the price movement. If it drops more you buy, if it rallies you haven't lost out completely. |

So, I ask, is there any reliable broker that would demand for BVN or other details apart from passport? If you have the national ID or drivers license I think you should still be able to open an account with Trove, Bamboo or Chakka |

rebekah2011: I am surprised too. It is not compulsory for people to do long term. Everyone has his strategy. If you like to do short term, please you are welcome and if not, you are welcome too. Bros I tire. So much energy is expended on trying to prove which strategy is better. Everybody's temperament, circumstances and tolerance level is different. People should focus on their own strategies and leave others to do what works for them. This constant long term vs short term argument is getting tiring. |

Amotekun2020: An important lesson I learnt from buffet, Do not be carried away by euphoria of the moment. At the peak of the euphoria, buffet insists that the market was overpriced. He opined that the driving force of the market was tax cut gifted to corporate Americans, not the intrinsic value or the fundamentals of listed companies. He who laugh last, laugh best. I cannot imagine the DOW surrendering 900 to 1000 points within a week. Many people are trapped in the euphoria of TESLA, today the stock has lost over $ 250 With all the euphoria, Berkshire did not buy a unit Like what one of my Ogas will say PLAN YOUR TRADE AND TRADE YOUR PLAN |

Onboard1: With this wave of devaluation, I know it's better to liquidate my MMF and open eurobond or dollar fund. But I am still confused on how to fund it. I called someone at stanbic, her explanation was to open a domiciliary account, then get a bureau de change agent to fund it. Unfortunately I reside outside naija and doesn't have such contact.
What should be my best move?
I must thank you for your immense contributions. Very rich and powerful. You can try Everdon BDC. I reside in Abuja and they are located in Lagos. I have never been to their office before and I have used then severally in the last 1 year. Contact them using the details on their website everdonbdc.com and once you complete your kyc documentation all you need to do is credit their naira Account and they will credit your dorm account with the dollars. |

ChybuzzDD: Thanks a lot for this information Which materials/sources would you recommend for the learning process? To succeed in the stock market you need knowledge, far more knowledge than people realise and also experience. Without adequate knowledge/financial literacy you are only going to crash. So what I advice is: 1. You need to first understand what shares/stocks are and how the stock marker works. This is very important. Go online and look for books that explain how the stock market works in simple terms. You can try the one in this link https://zerodha.com/varsity/module/introduction-to-stock-markets/ pls note I haven't read the book and the author is Indian so he will be talking about the Indian stock exchange. But the principle is the same across the world. 2. Decide if you want to be a fundamentalist or a technical trader. A fundamental investor analyses the companies financial results and looks for good, financially healthy stocks to buy at prices lower than what they are worth. He buys to hold for a long time and enjoy long term capital appreciation and/or dividends. He may also sell if prices rises to a level he feels the stock is over prices. The technical trader on the other hand uses technical analysis (just like forex trading) to analyse stock charts and take advantage of short term trading opportunities, buying low and selling high. So decide which side you want to belong and study along that line. You can also combine both strategies. Some do it here. For a basic intro to fundamental analysis download and read this https://zerodha.com/varsity/module/fundamental-analysis/For a basic intro to technical analysis download and read this https://zerodha.com/varsity/module/technical-analysis/3. Do yourself a favour and read the first 50 pages of this thread. Then you can read the last 50 pages of this thread too and from now on keep following the thread. A lot of useful information can be found here and some of your questions will have already been answered here. 4. LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT DO NOT PUT A KOBO IN THE STOCK MARKET OR IF YOU MUST, ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE TILL YOU HAVE STUDIED AND HAVE AT LEAST A FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THE STOCK MARKET IS AND KNOWLEDGE OF FUNDAMENTAL AND/OR TECHNICAL ANALYSIS. Give yourself time. The stock market is here and is nor running away. When you eventually start trading you may make a few mistakes but these will be minimised if you have a good grounding from your studies. As your experience grows you will only get better. Good luck. |

ahiboilandgas: I also observed that trading is more profitable ....selling cement or fmgc in Nigeria can rake in 80 percent anum...example a truck load of cement is delivered at 2200 per bag sold for 2400 .gross profit of 200 x900 bags (180 k) the capital is 2200x900=2m .....a good location can move 900 bags weekly.... Is it necessary to also invest in a delivery van/truck (for delivery to your customers) if you intend to go into cement distributorship. |
