HAS THE FORUM TURNED INTO COMPETITION? cheesy
With amusement, I have read various posts in the past couple of days. I keep wondering, if there is a prize to earn if anyone could predict accurately the reversal point for GTB? Will the right person be awarded a $50,000 prize or nothing? If there is no award, then count me out. But if there is any and is less than $50,000 - still count me out. However, if the award is over $50,000, then I AM IN!

Even at that, can I accurately tell the exact price point the stock can reverse & begin the rally? In all honestly, I cannot. I can only predict a possible zone based on past data and as we know, "Past performance is not an indicator of future outcomes" - says disclaimer from many professional analysts.

Ask yourself why NSE wasn't booming when global stocks were booming.

I repeat this GOVT will only make the PATIENT BARGAIN HUNTERS richer. Of which I'm a benefactor during the 2016-2017 Dollar brouhaha. when it shuttled between N250 and N520 due to BUBU inaction.

History is about repeating..........

Pls am a novice inherited very large volume of stocks but the value is fast dropping. I've approached a number of brokage firms who all become desperate once they sight my dematerializaton form. only excepton was ibtc but they require 5millon cash deposit to trade with them. even though my stock is worth way more than that. All others have been disturbing me with calls and messages. I just need general advice from gurus in the house. I've read a lot of scaring things about stock broking world such as unauthorized sales of shares etc. From my deduction one needs to thread with caution in the broking world. So as not to loose all that money. A firm billed me 10% for indemnity in an attempt to make so much money from my stocks while ibtc only asked for 1% of stock value Kindly advise me so I don't jump in bed with a crafty brokage firm. Also can I open multiple accounts account with different brokage firms just like bank account or I can only move my account from one firm to another like pension.

You can try FSDH Securities. They are reputable or Lead Capital.

How can one go about change of stock broking firm?
Also, in Nigeria of today, is it possible for one to control his or her stock holdings and execute buy and sell of choiced instruments within the confine of his or her room using online apps?
I want to be able to have control of my portfolio and not necessarily have to go to brokerage house/firm before I can execute actions. Any enlightenment on this?

It is sad that Cashcraft is still like this. I had this same issue with them way back around 2007 or 2008. Several calls and emails did not solve it. My money only got released after a visit to their head office.

That was the last time I transacted with them. Unfortunately I no longer have their contact details.

So, your own 13.57% of 4M per annum for 7 years is over 8m?

Do you know what compounding is and how it works? Take a look at the picture attached to see how the 4m is compounded annually over 7 years.

You can also use the compound interest calculator on this site to calculate it if you cannot calculate it manually. https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/finance/calculators/compoundinterestcalculator.php

A few days ago I came across this article on Nairametrics which should be of interest to those looking for opportunities to invest in US stocks.

https://nairametrics.com/2019/07/08/heres-how-to-invest-in-us-stocks-from-nigeria/

Here’s how to invest in US stocks from Nigeria
By NM Partners - July 8, 2019 8

The US stock market is the biggest stock market in the world, accounting for over 50% of global stock market value. The combined market capitalization of the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) and NASDAQ is currently about $40.2 trillion. For comparison, the Nigerian stock market has a total market cap of $38.3 billion.

US stock market, US stocks, Trove Finance

It doesn’t matter what you’re investing in. Be it stocks, bonds, real estate, or any other financial instrument, the goal of investing is simple: generate extra income.

Arguably, stocks have shown to offer the most potential for growth as compared to many other asset classes. They are also far more liquid and diversifiable than real estate and many other fixed-income assets.

US stock market, US stocks, Trove Finance

As a Nigerian, investing in the US as a non-resident was a difficult process prior to now. Most international brokerages would require, at minimum, a valid US visa or a green card in order to be able to invest in the US stock market. Investing in foreign markets was also relatively limited to high net worth individuals (HNIs) as the amount required to invest was, typically, in the thousands of dollars range.

One of the most common questions in investment groups and forums is “How do I buy shares of Apple, Tesla, Dropbox, Uber or Facebook?”

The NYSE and NASDAQ being the most valuable stock markets in the world have consistently outperformed every other market. Unfortunately, they have been largely inaccessible to Nigerians and Africans in general… until now.

This article will serve as a guide to get you started in investing in the US Stock Market.

What you will need:

Your Bank Verification Number (BVN)
