ozoigbondu:But there's no book called Hezekiah in the Bible na. |
As the battle between Light and Darkness, Good and Evil, God and Satan approaches its climax, the issue of worship will once again assume center stage as it was at the beginning. Recall that Satan not content with his exalted position as the first among the covering cherub corrupted his wisdom by reason of his beauty. His heart was lifted up with pride and thus desired the worship due only to God as creator. “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north…I will be like the most high” Isaiah 14:13-14. Through the ages, Satan has continued his warfare against God by perverting the worship due him as Creator. Thus today, the sun, moon and stars, reptiles, power, wealth, sex, and even man himself is worship in place of God. Unfortunately, a large part of Christendom is caught up in this rebellion against Jehovah when it comes to the issue of worship. Masquerading as “an angel of light” and his demons as “ministers of righteousness” (2Corinthians11:14-15) many have been led to follow the traditions of men rather than the word of God. Earthly powers and ecclesiastical authorities, under the inspiration of Satan have attempted “to change times and laws” Daniel 7:25 Over and over again, the Bible tells us that the reason God is worthy of our worship is because He is our creator. As the psalmist tells us, “O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our maker.” – Ps 95:6. Jeremiah tells us “Jehovah is the true God, he is the living God…God made the earth by his power, and he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding” Paul introduced this “unknown God” whom the Athenians ignorantly worshipped as the Creator of the world, (Acts 17:23-24) and Revelation 4:11, the basis for the popular song, “Thou art worthy” says “Thou art worthy, o Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure and they are and were created.” The point is, God is primarily worthy of our worship because he is our Creator. All other gods are not God because they did not create. - “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.” Jer. 10:11. To commemorate (mark, remember) the fact that he is our CREATOR, and thus worthy of our worship, Jehovah instituted the Sabbath at the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, before the entrance of sin. “By the Seventh day, God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day, he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy…” Divine providence foresaw the possibility of man forgetting and wandering after other gods, and rationalizing his actions by diverse theories of origin. Therefore, God commanded in the clearest possible language to “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy” Why? “For in six days Jehovah made heavens and the earth…therefore he blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Exodus 20: 8 & 11. In other words, God says do not forget to keep the Sabbath day, so that you will always know that I am God, your creator. To argue that the Sabbath day have been abolished therefore is to insinuate that God is no longer the creator! God therefore holds up the Sabbath not only as proof of his creator-ship and therefore our worship, but of our loyalty to him, in the ongoing battle with Satan – who craves above all other things, to be worshipped just like God. “Moreover, also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them…And hallow my Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God” Ezekiel 20:12 & 20 Revelation highlights the importance of the worship in the end time. “If any man worships the beast and his image and receives the mark on his forehead or on the hand” said the angel with a loud voice, he too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury” Rev 14:10. We are invited to “Fear God and give him glory…worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water” - Rev 14: 7. Out of love and as a sign of our loyalty, we are enjoined to keep the Sabbath day, because God is our Creator. The issue of the Sabbath is a matter of love. "If you love me, keep my commandments" John 14:15. We do not keep the Sabbath to earn God's grace or salvation, but because we already have it. Obedience to his commandments is the fruit of our relationship with him, through the power of the Holy Spirit. I invite you friends, to prayerfully make your choice. Will you honour worship God on the Seventh Day (Saturday) as he commanded or will you be in danger of worshipping in vain, because you follow for doctrines the commandment of men? Wouldn’t you rather follow the example of Jesus, Paul and the early Christians who have a habit of worshipping God on the Sabbath? (Luke 4:16, Acts 13:42, 13:44, 17:2, 18:4) May God grant you the courage and grace to make the right decision. I implore and invite you to join millions of those who are worshipping on the Sabbath day, and will continue to do so throughout the endless year of eternity, in the earth made new. (Isaiah 66:22-23) |
striktlymi:The reality though is that infidelity or sin is hardly singular. Lies and dishonesty are its twin brothers. Then there's the inability to provide the moral example n spiritual headship and that is required of the Man - the family is spiritually exposed to attacks by the 'strange' woman and others. In addition, the woman is exposed to STDs including HIV. Furthermore, children could be born out of wedlock and before long unplanned polygamy may result. I could go on and on, but the point is that infidelity in particular and sin in general, is hardly singular. Sooner than later, it will become plural and then gradually engulf and imprison the man in terrible situations that may shorten his life. |
Beyond the quadrennial struggle for power under democracy and the aberration of military rule, lies a fundamental problem with the Nigerian polity which none of the present gladiators are addressing. Nigeria, according to late Anthony Enaharo, is like a car that got to a critical junction and took a wrong turn. What am I talking about? At independence, the fear of domination of one ethnic group over the other, anchored on our multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and topographical diversity, made our founding fathers to adopt a federal system of government. This was a wise choice as political history the world over, teaches us that a country like ours can only succeed as a nation under a federal system. A federal system of government for the record, is a union of partially self-governing states or regions under a central (federal) government, with powers usually assigned to each by a constitution. The adoption of this system, apart from calming the genuine fear of domination by the ethnic nationalities that made up Nigeria, it created a developmental rivalry that gave birth to the famed cocoa plantation in the west, the groundnut pyramids in the north and the coal industry in the east. We were self-sufficient in our food needs and our economy was so buoyant that the exchange rate of the naira to the pounds was; N0.65/£1. Sadly, the military intervention of 1966 and subsequent military regimes truncated our match to nationhood by enforcing the anomaly of a unitary system on us. It was no coincidence that these interventions and the subsequent desperate quest for power occurred almost at the time when oil was discovered. It has been said ‘jokingly’ that even the civil war was fought to a large extent on the need to control our new found oil wealth. Ojukwu in declaring Biafra republic, included the then Niger delta states of Rivers, Cross River and Bendel. Of course, Gowon would have none of it, and so the fight to finish began. Back to our discourse. Decrees upon decrees were promulgated that eroded the semi-autonomous status of the regions while empowering the government at the center. The land use decree of 1978, finally vested all land and their resources in the hands of the federal government. Derivation as a principle of revenue generation and distribution was jettison for that of allocation. As the federal government grew bigger, stronger, richer and more corrupt, so did the intensity and struggle for power – not to better the lot of the masses, but to control the vast Oil/Gas wealth that lies in the underbelly of the Niger delta. Oil wells and contracts were dole out as Christmas gifts to family members, party loyalist, feudal and ethnic lords, generals and political godfathers and godsons. Of course, it was only a question of time before we began to experience the consequences of imposing a unitary fiscal structure and distorted federalism on our country. The activities of OPC in the South West, MASSOP in the South East, Arewa Youths in the North and militancy in the South-South among others, is a fulfillment of the prediction made by the Chief Obafemi Awolowo. According to the late sage, “…every multi-lingual or multi-national country with a unitary constitution must either eventually have a federal constitution…or disintegrate, or be perennially afflicted with disharmony and hostility” (The people’s Republic, 1968) The Change that we need is a return to through true federalism, so that we can begin the journey to true nationhood. Nigeria as it presently exist is a “mere geographical expression… a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria from those who do not” *The restructuring of Nigeria along the present 6 geo-political zones. (The North West, North East, Middle Belt, South West, South East and South South) *Operation of fiscal federalism – with the principle of derivation as its foundation. *Convocation of a sovereign national conference to implement the above. My support and vote will go to any of the political parties that have as part of her manifesto, the implement of these aforementioned. God Bless Nigeria! |
NgeneUkwenu:If APC is so sure of these facts, why not bring them to d debate tomorrow? To deny us d electorate an opportunity to hear n see d leading presidential candidates n their vice present n defend their manifestoes is disrespectful, undemocratic n reeks of cowardice. |
masonkz:D idea is to gradually familiarise kids with witchcraft, makes it appear good n even desirable. Even as adults, its not wise to watch n read everything. Indiscriminate exposure to filthy literatures for example, familiarises u with sin, deadens your sensitivity to evil n gradually erodes your moral judgement n choice. He who stays or live too close to d refuse bin, soon forgets about its smell. |
* The desecration of the marriage institution is another sure sign of d end. Man to man, woman to woman, man to dog marriages are some of d abominable n unnatural Union that defines d end time. * Witchcraft presented as good in Children cartoons: We now have witches flying on broomstick n doing 'good' so as to introduce n initiate children into witchcraft |
Tex42:We were truly n madly in luv, when d relationship eventually ended, it took me 4 years to get over d hurt, pain n luv. But I loved her at first sight n would've marry her. To date, more than 15yrs after, I've not forgotten her birthday n bear no I'll feelings towards her. Thankfully, I'm 'fell' in luv again n happily married. So does love at first sight exist? Yes bcus it happened to me, although I know its rare. |
Yes, I have. I remember now like yesterday. It was thunderbolt! i mean like d explosion of a million stars!! we went on to have 4 years of wonderful luv relationship, before we grew n fell apart. During d period, before d advent of GSM, I wrote her about 300 letters n she replied with about 250. If you take in consideration that it takes about 6 days for my letter to get to her and another 6 days for hers to get to me, you would get an idea of how crazily in luv we were. |
Raiders: The bible say that we should not judge the man of GodPlease don't misquote the Bible. The admonition "Judge not, so that you will not be judged" does not mean we cannot correct or discipline believes including pastors or "men of God" if they steal, fornicates, kill, commits adultery, etc. Jesus warns us to "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly, they are ravening wolves" but we should not be deceived because, "By their fruits we shall know them" Matt 7:15-16. Paul addressing immorality in the Corinthian Church, advice the church to judge and discipline anyone found guilty. in fact, he says "if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater...or an extortioner, ...with such a one do not eat" 1 Cor 5:11. Due to the danger posed by false prophets, "man of God" pastors, - who in reality are agents of the devil, but have "transformed themselves into apostles of Christ" or "ministers of righteousness", (1Cor. 11:13-15), we are admonished not to believe every one who claims to speak for God but to "test the spirit" (1John 4:1) |
limamintruth: So wot abt Job in the bible that lost all his children and wealth to testI wonder why you read your Bible upside down. Job lost children, personal properties n was afflicted with illness. Tell me what TB Joshua has lost? public image or source of revenue? This man is wicked! About 80 precious souls dead n hundreds injured, yet he thinks is all about him! No word of sympathy for d bereaved families. Fake prophets. God is exposing them one by one. wait for the next big exposure! |
wow! I am excited and impressed by the intelligence, maturity, diplomacy and dignified tone of the President response. For those saying he did not address the issues raised by Obj, please, stop advertising your ignorance and mischief. The gang-up of some elite against Jonathan and APC naked-unethical quest for power is subversive and nauseating. May God continue to grant Jonathan the wisdom and protection needed to lead us alright. God bless Nigeria! |

A couple of question pls. Who pays 4 d article u write? How do u 'download' ur money in naira here in Nigeria? |
Thanks for sharing your experience. I was about buying some items from them but have been put off. |
murphy02: I agree with you except buying of share, taxi, marwaSorry for what happened. I'm afraid, it's because you didn't have access to relevant information that would have enabled you to take timely action. When trading in shares you have to first of all defined your objectives: Are you buying for short, medium or long time term? Are you trading for bonus shares, dividends, or price increase? In addition, you have to define the point at which you take profit (20, 30, 50, 100% price rise?) similarly, at what point would you exit or cut loss (20, 30, 40, 50%... decrease in price) These in addition to the company trend for the pass 3 yrs, will equip you to make d right decision. The stock market to date have a daily turn over of 6billion naira and trust me, you can profit from it. That said, your investment portfolio overtime, should be a mix of shares, real estate, physical business for cash flow, 'cooperative society' savings etc. |
I am not a banker, but my wife is, so i understand your situation. The following may be of help. 1. Have a clear picture, vision or goal of what you want to do. It will be better to write it down for clarity and solidity. 2. Gather relevant information about it. Better still, draw up a business plan. (you can contact those who know how) 3. Save aggressively. 4. Better still, invest your savings in passive investment (that does not require daily monitoring) -like shares and real estate. 5. You can also invest in taxis or keke -marwa, Barbing Saloon with a section for play station, to earn daily money, preparatory to resigning. 6. Set a time-frame for leaving the bank as well as the above. 7. Pray, Plan and Work towards your goal. Discuss with your wife if you're married. Finally, do not be afraid, resign your job if you've achieved the above. Do be discourage by the snide comments and fears of other. Life is short, try and live your dreams. Remember, it is riskier not to take the risk. You shall succeed by God's grace. |
I'm a married man n so will try n answer ur questn objectively. But b4 l do, let me state some facts. 1. A man can luv his wife n stil cheat on her. 2. Althou a woman action can drive a man out, d man bears ultimate responsibility 4 cheating. So to ans ur questn NO! Not all men cheat, although majority DO! All men are temptd to cheat, but only d luv n fear of God in a man can give him d wisdom, strength n discipline not to cheat. How can u get over ur hurting hrt? Ignoring it will make it fester. Ur best bet is to ask God to help u 4give ur husby, bcus u cant urslf. D difficult one is if he's a serial cheater. Good men feel remorseful n really dont want to cheat. Help him by ur 4giveness. When u do pls, don't kip refering to it. Don't use it as a hovering sword or joker wen u're quarelling. God blx. |

vera031: There are three things that the Devil fears most 1. The name of Jesus 2. The name of Mary 3. The most holy rosary. I love our mother Mary soo much. For all those who do not believe you have your choice to make. The catholic church will continue to remain one and universal.we pray that our Mother will give us the grace to say our rosary daily and honour her more fervently.Pls can you give the relevant bible passage that support your assertions? At least we know " that at the name of Jesus every kneel should bow, things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth" Philp 2:10 |
Area_boy: it is funny how "god" gave "us" a specific instruction only in the Jewish bible... Maybe it was just a Jewish law made by the Jews for the Jews? Are you a christian friend? I am one who believe the Bible is God's inspired word and in Jesus Christ as the saviour of the world. |
The 4th commandment in Exodus 20:8,11 says "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.....for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. wherefore, the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it" Jesus as his custom was while he was on earth kept and worship on the sabbath day (Luke 4:16) The disciples, Paul, Peter and the early church, kept and worship on the sabbath day. (Acts 13:14,27,42,44, 15:21, 17:2, 18:4, etc) How come majority of us have forgotten what God specifically said we should remember? |
shdemidemi: The only instruction is beliefBrethren, an explanation of the Classic Christian Paradox will clarify our discussion. The paradox states: 1. You cannot be saved or earn salvation by keeping the law. 2. But without obedience to the law of God, you cannot be saved. The law of God is like a mirror. Standing before it, I see a lot of stains (sin) in me. But no matter how beautiful the mirror is, it cannot remove the stains. But the consequence of having those stains un-removed is death! To my dismay, all attempts to remove the stains myself are futile. In fact, the more I try, the more I fail! All my efforts, self righteousness amounts to ‘filthy rags’ “By the deeds of the law shall no man be justified.” (The carnal mind is in enmity with the law) But glory, hallelujah, Jesus is the answer! First, believing in his atoning sacrifice, and accepting him as lord and savior, my stains (sins) are forgiven, blotted and cleansed. He replaces my filthy rags with his pure white garment. I am justified by faith in him. Stainless before the mirror! Then he gives me the power through his Holy Spirit not to stain my garment! Empowered by the spirit and by reading his words, I lived obediently, not to earn salvation, but as evidence that indeed I have been born again. By obedience is ‘friutage’ or proof of a loving relationship with him. The law becomes my delight! Its righteous requirements are now fulfill in my life because I walk not in the flesh, but in the spirit. When I fortunately I stain (sinned), I approach his throne of grace and obtain mercy and help for forgiveness and to gain the victory over sin. I confess and forsake my sins. (Heb 4:16,1 Jn 1:9) Daily, by reading his words, through prayer, etc, his Spirit empowers me to live above sin. I am not ‘under the law’ and its condemnation (death) because by his grace, I am empowered to overcome sin. “The life that I now live, it is not I that liveth, but Christ lives in me” I am under Grace! Glory! Hallelujah!! |
There are two extremes (that are misleading, wrong and injurious to our salvation) that we need to guard against when it comes to the relationship between God's Grace, Law and our Salvation. • The first is that because we are saved by Grace, we no longer need to obey the law or that the 10 commandments have been nailed to the cross. • The second is that we are saved by law. Note: By law, I mean the 10 commandments of God. God's Grace is unmerited Favour, Mercy and Power in our lives so that we can be saved. (For the grace of God that brings SALVATION hath appeared to all men –Titus 2:11) It brings forgiveness, justification, and sanctification.(To make holy) Through the Holy Spirit and His Word, we are cleansed and empowered to live above or overcome sin. In other words, as children of God, we have the power to live obediently or righteously. Three times Paul in Romans debunked the idea that Grace nullifies or exempt us from obedience. (See Rom 3:31, 6:1 and 6:15) The second extreme but wrong view is that we are saved by the law. Jesus is our Saviour, and we are saved by grace through faith in Him. The law like a mirror only reveals and points out our stains (sins) but cannot remove it. This is where Grace comes in. Through the Power of the Holy Spirit, it first forgives our sins, credit the righteousness of Jesus for us, then cleanse, sanctify and empower us to live above sin (making us more and more like Jesus) so that when we stand before the mirror (law) in judgment, we are stainless. All this is accomplished by grace through faith in Jesus through the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit The following summarizes the Bible view of the above. 1. The just shall live by faith. (Hab 2:4, Rom 1:7) 2. We are saved by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9, Rom 3:24) 3. Our efforts to keep the law by our own strength or as a means of earning salvation is impossible and futile. (Rom 8:7-8, John 15:5) 4. Jesus and not the law is our Saviour. (Matt 1:21, Titus 1:4) 5. Grace does not nullify or exempt us from obedience to the law. It is not a license to break the law - i.e steal, commit adultery, take the name of the Lord in vain, etc.(Rom 6:1,14-15, Roman 3:31) 6. Faith also does not nullify the law nor exempt us from obedience.(Rom 3:31) 7. Faith without works (Actions, obedience or evidence) is dead. Genuine faith is reveal by action. (James 2:14-26) 8. A transformed, Spirit-filled, born again life bear fruits of obedience to God's law. In other words, obedience to the law is the 'fruitage' or result of a genuine, loving-faith based relationship with God. (Rom 8:4, John 15:10, I John 5:2-3, Rev 12:17, Rev 22:14, etc) it is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit. 9. The Law of God also known as the law of liberty is the standard for judgment. (Eccl 12:13-14, James 2:12) 10. The Law of God, whose underlying principle is LOVE, is an expression of God's will and character. In other words, just as God is Just, Perfect, Unchangeable and Eternal, so also is His Law. (Ps 19:7, 111:7-8, Rom 7:12, Matt 5:17, etc) 11. The lives of those who will be saved will be characterise by obedience to God's law through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rev 12:17, 22:14) To be under the law, means to look to the law as our Saviour instead of Jesus. It means to continue in sin and thus come under its condemnation, which is death. (The wages of sin is death.) . It means to walk in the flesh (and thus exhibits all the works of the flesh) To be under the law, means to try and achieve salvation by works. It is self righteousness. To be under Grace, means to avail ourselves of God’s mercy by repenting and forsaking our sins. It means by faith, we believe in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf. Above all, it means to avail ourselves of the POWER of the Holy Spirit to gain the victory of SIN. To be under grace means to live righteously or obediently and thus above sin. May our lives testify of the POWER of GOD to SAVE us from SIN in Jesus name. |

So yes, I am under GRACE! |
Goshen360: @ Tgirl,The distorted teaching of Grace is d one that makes it a license to continue in sin. Grace that makes void d law of God is not grace but Disgrace. A friend once said 'd more he sins, d more grace he has' . True grace means unmerited forgiveness 4 our sins when we repent, bcus of d atoning death of Jesus for us. True Grace means 'The POWER of God unto SALVATION' - Salvation from SIN. '... And his name shall b call JESUS for He shall SAVE His people FROM SIN' - Matt 1:21. True Grace is the POWER of d Holy Spirit in us not to sin. That's not to disobey d law (sin is d transgression of d law.- 1 John 3:4) True Grace is empowerment by d Holy Spirit to live righteously ( That d righteous requirements of d law might b fulfill in US, who walk not after d flesh, but after d SPIRIT - Rm 8:4) . Anyone that uses grace as a cover to continue living in sin is not under grace but DISGRACE. |
