Why is he unready to forgive reconcile with his wife.

You are being unnecessarily sentimental. You don't ask people to pay for libel. The court gives such judgment. Refer to Saraki vs Saharareporters. The lawyer that wrote that letter should have his/her license revoked. What a slowpoke!
I have mentioned many times about the half-baked quarter-baked lawyers that litter Nigeria. Here is a perfect example.

When I think of religion, I think of the Presidency.

Some people seeking favours can choose to go through:
1. His son
2. The mother of the son
3. Members of the cabal.

Then there are folks around who claim or rightly have access to the three listed above. That's where the hustle starts--the syndicate, the scammers, the realists, all jostling for cash from prospective beneficiaries. There are going to be a lot of disappointment along the way trying to separate the connected and the scammers especially as every middle person is name-dropping and claiming that the message is direct from Buhari.

Assuming Buhari published his contact number in the national dailies, some folks believe that it is too good to be true and would rather try to reach him through a middle person. Of course, there are conditions (veiled bribery/tithes) that will benefit the hustlers in order to get connected to the Presidency.

Key: son (Jesus Christ), mother (Virgin Mary), members of the cabal (saints), national dailies (bible).

This is the concept of religion.

Some of you are beginning to make sense. People think that buying Gucci product makes them the shiznit. They are only paying the cost of marketing passed on the consumers by the vendor while Kering smiles to the bank.

Eyeglasses like Ray Ban, Oakley, Chanel, Versace, Coach, D& G, Prada, etc are being manufactured by the company Luxottica. Once the products leave the factory, each parent company hypes the products and more money in the bsnk.

Chinese companies bought into the hype market, make quality replicas and pocket billions every year. Some Rolex watches can only be deciphered by Rolex outlets as fake. That's how good they got.

Buy what looks good on you. The agbada guy at Banky's wedding claimed it was worth N200k. Even at that, he still took shines off the N1m wearing Gucci zombies.

As for Do-It-Yourself, well I'm guilty of that. I used DIY for supervision. It was only the first project I used contractor for. Others, my wife (and I) did the supervision. Didn't hire any contractor.
You took the best approach. There is dearth of professionalism in Nigeria. From lawyers that cannot draft basic contracts to so-called contractors that don't know their onion. Anyone with zeal for details should bypass all the charlatans operating in the highly unregulated and uncertified building construction. The overlooked artisans may end up doing better jobs with close supervision than the ogas that rarely show up at site.

From my experience, name means nothing as it could only be mere "packaging". I am more interested in values for my money.

I like how you said fuel stations have been abandoned on the highway who in their right mind builds a station on the highway. Highways are for fast travels, the point for travelling on them is not to stop for fuel or anything or whether for whatever reason ... It's impossible to see Petrol station within a town closed down impossible cos a petrol station feeds on the people that live around it and since people don't live on the highway it's a no brainer y stations on the highway have been abadoned ...

To the other logistics and other related expenses, the right type of people would help you with this in particular an experienced commercial lawyer, it's not a stumbling block to building the station itself ...there are just small issues by the side not that much to worry about
You are contradicting yourself. You said lands are priced around N500k along Ibadan expressway. Where can one get N500k land in a prime location?
Relocating to Nigeria is a gradual process. Out of the $30k he saved will be his living expenses, family matters and other miscellaneous expenses. He can start working on his plan from now until everything is ready. But packing up with $30k in his account to relocate to Nigeria is a very bad idea. It may even take as little as one slay queen to latch unto the OP and send him back to square one.

I'm more than for real bro, I even have I invoices, receipts, to back up the statistics I have just said above ....

I am more than real, just because the petrol station makes millions upon millions a month doesn't mean it would cost the same to get operational. Petrol stations are just like any other shop or store that sells anything that people might want to buy.. The only difference being FUEL has an inelastic demand, no mattr the price it's sold, it's a must have. As things stand in Nigeria self after every family has put food on thier table, FUEL IS Next
One thing I know is that things rarely work out in Nigeria as outlined in an estimate. There are always surprises somewhere which you didn't include in your estimate. How many gas stations do you see abandoned along Nigerian highways? If it is that easy and profitable, they will be operational. You failed to include the cost of sourcing and transporting fuel, employees, insurance, business registration, state and municipal levies, logistics, etc in your estimates. The list could be endless. By the time the OP knows what hit him, he will be broke and depressed.

He stated the fact though. But he forgot to mention that someone who makes $1000 as minimum wage and spends $5 on an item is way better off than someone who makes $50 (N18k/month) and spends $1 on the same item.

Coming back would be a one way trip. I don’t yet have permanent resident status.
That's the more reason you should start building the base right now. Folks that are hustlers without papers push everything they earn back home to establish a base. As someone who travels to Nigeria quiet often, I am telling you to scratch the thought out of your mind. It will take you 4x what it will take a Nigerian living in Nigeria to survive. Paying rent is never a problem; renewing the rent is the problem.
At the barest minimum, build a house in your city of choice even if it is a 1-bedroom bungalow.

BluFlyBoy:
Greetings my fellow Nigerians. I'm facing the prospect of coming back to Nigeria after 8 years in the USA. I finished my post-graduate degree and I'm coming back with a Bsc, MBA and 2 years of work experience in the telecoms industry. I want to know from my people back home, how is the general national feeling, how they enjoy their lifestyle/quality of life and the hard-truths of what I'll be facing coming back as I've been so far removed from the national consciousness because I've been in the USA for almost a decade. I feel passion about my country and people but I need to know what too expect. So my people are you happy with life back home?
Do you own a house in the city where you want to live?
Do you have a car?
Do you have borehole and standby gen?
Do you have a business or is there a guaranteed employment waiting for you?

These 4 things are the prerequisites that you MUST have before relocating to Nigeria. They will make things a little easy.
You are thinking of relocating at the worst possible time--Buhari time. I hope you are not the breadwinner in your family.
The biggest challenge will be dealing with fellow Nigerians back home. Try living in Nigeria for 3 months, some experiences are better lived than told.

My advice: Don't do it! 1 month in Nigeria is enough to suck the life out of you.

Relocating to Nigeria should be a gradual process.

Business › Re: Arthur Eze Dragged To UK Court For Pulling Out Of £5million Mansion Deal by InvertedHammer: 3:57pm On Dec 08, 2017
nwakibie3:
Popular billionaire prince, Arthur Eze, has been sued for £1.8 million by a couple who claimed they were left stranded after he pulled out of buying their £5million mansion.

Daily Mail reports that the couple, identified as Richard and Deborah Conway, told a High Court that they were left stranded after Prince Eze pulled out of buying their £5million mansion.

According to them, they were already committed to buying a house in Cambridge and had to take out an expensive bridging loan when the deal with Prince Eze was no longer tenable.

The couple claims they were forced to sell their home at a reduced price of £4.2 million, and are suing the prince to recover losses as well as “family expenses”.

However Prince Eze, who is said to be worth £2 billion, denied breaching his contract with the couple. He has also counter-sued Mr. and Mrs Conway for the return of a £500,000 deposit.

Mr Conway, 62, said he and his wife wanted to “pay off all our debts and start again” with an eye on retirement when they put their home up for sale for £5 million.

Their lawyer, Matthew Collings, said: “It was necessary for them to obtain bridging finance to fill the huge hole left by Prince Eze’s failure to complete, and failure to pay the balance of the purchase price.”

The court heard they exchanged contracts for the nine-bedroom home in August 2015, but Prince Eze had been acting through a “go-between” and had never seen the house.

The 62-year-old prince, the founder of oil firm Atlas Oranto Petroleum, paid a 10 per cent deposit of £500,000 but now alleges the deal was void because the Conways agreed to pay the agent a “secret commission” to secure the sale.

The Conways, who denied any inappropriate conduct, said the agent contacted them initially without Prince Eze’s knowledge and later raised the prospect of a £75,000 agent’s fee.

They claim the agent then “threatened to scupper the deal” unless he was paid.

Testifying in court, Prince Eze said he had good intentions when he agreed to buy the house; stressing that he wanted “a genuine investment in the UK”.

“I wasn’t concerned about the price but I was concerned about people being open,” he said.

“I thought there was something funny going on,” he added.

The Prince rejected a suggestion he had pulled out of the deal because of a drastic drop in oil prices.

Judge Andrew Keyser QC reserved his judgement to a later date.

http://dailypost.ng/2017/12/06/arthur-eze-dragged-uk-court-pulling-5million-mansion-deal/
/

Arthur Ezeh is right. The agent threatened the sellers and they succumbed to his shenanigan.
Arthur suspected foul play and pulled out of the deal. If the sellers used the words that implied that
they were threatened by the agent for commission/fee variation, the case is DOA. No valid deal is made
under duress.

[quote author= post=63069542]Ahead of the December 9 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President and Chieftain of the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, visited former President Ibrahim Babangida.

Atiku was welcomed at the Minna International Airport by Niger state Deputy Governor, Ahmed Ketso and the State PDP Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, among other dignitaries.

His visit comes barely a day after Babangida said there is nothing wrong with the former vice-president dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the People Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that constitution allows it.

IBB said: “Atiku is a Nigerian, he is allowed to go to any party and our constitution allows it, so, it is not new and there is nothing wrong for politician to move from one party to another.”

The clue is the man. How does a Caucasian man react to a very stressful situation? He drinks some liquor, throws the bottle to the wall then punches and thrashes inanimate objects around him. That explains the state of the room.
What could have caused the stress? I see a chart. I suspect that he is a bullish daytrader who became a victim of an extremely bearish scenario. Then margin call happened. Bingo! He pulled the trigger. Gun shot from an unknown source? Go better than Usain Bolt. Who would blame the man outside?

But if he were to be a blackman, I will suspect murder.
