Stop all those noise. So many people with pass in O'level Maths work in the Banks too. I know them and i have seen a lot of them and they've not even bothered to remedy it. Most of them went into the university through Pre-Degree or Remedials. Yes you can get a Bank job with that. Bank job in Nigeria na God or through connection. |
kayzed:I too think you need a dictionary; this time around not to differentiate between a Technician and an Engineer, but to know what Engineering is; who an Engineer is and what an Engineer does. For God's sake the people in Nigeria you call Engineers don't do any Engineering job. All they do is fixing, repairs and maintenance. They have never Engineered anything to qualify them to be called Engineers. Engineers engineer or create new things and not fixing and repairing of old and existing things. Thank God you even agreed that the Engineering curriculum in Nigeria needs to be overhauled to meet global standards in Engineering; meaning Nigeria has not been producing Engineers, of course because there is nothing to show that they are good and competent. Nigerian Engineers in Nigeria have the Engineering Degrees but they are not competent Engineers. Tell me one thing that Nigerian Engineers in Nigeria have Engineered?? They are more or less Technicians doing fixing and repairs; and fixing and repairs does nt make one an Engineer, rather it makes you a Technician; a competent Technician. Or do you think fixing and repairs make one a competent Engineer?? if it does then Auto-Mechanics/Technicians, Plant Mechanics/Technicians, Electrical and Electronic Technicians, Computer and Network Technicians would all be calling themselves Engineers too because they repair and fix very well too. |
Better we say Nigerian Technicians are competent. |
prefer or preferable is used with to and not than. Correct that first else nobody will take you to be a serious person. |
My dear it so happened that i passed through the polytechnic and have HND too. But i will be the last person to advice anybody to go for HND program. please after your ND go for a Bsc program, because the discrimination out there in the labour market and government ministries is not favourable to HND holders at all. Government too are part of the problem; there policies are not favourable to polytechnics and their graduates in general. If it is Bsc they consider better or the feel is better, why not go for the Bsc?? It is only 10 out of 100 polytechnic graduates that get employment without discrimination, the remaining 90 are employed as contract staff or as ND holders(junior staff) . I'm talking from experience please, and i'm still begging you not to go near or close to HND. |
buyolala:what do you mean by that?? Don't they do QBASIC programming in the Universities?? Infact some universities still do GWBasic till today. |
We need paper qualification in Nigeria, so get a Bsc and forget about HND. |
look before you jump o. |
kayzed:Yes o, i ve so many problems with nigerian Engineers. one of the problem is that they don't know what engineering is and as such behave like Technicians; and that is why they have not been able to engineer any thing good in nigeria. Or you think Engineering is about repairing faulty machines and all that?? Tell me one good thing that Engineers in Nigeria have engineered?? |
Bros, all na story. No body cares about HND holders in Nigeria. Let them stop decieving people to patronize polytechnics and their HND certificate that has a stigma. |
They are not competent. They are more/lessTechnicians calling themselves Engineers. |
Northerners were wicked to the easterners, so there was no reason living in the same country with them; that was why Ojukwu declared Biafra republic. |
we were told that the ijebus are very stingy people, so becareful. |
What about Field Marshal Idi Amin?? Don't people still call him Field Marshal Idi Amin till today?? |
Had it been the reverse was the case that ibos were the ones killing thousands of northerners in the east, and Gowon decided to create an arewa republic leaving the ibos to be on their own and a civil war eventually starts, would anybody or anyone be saying that Gowon was wrong to have gone into war with the east?? You people don't know what happened to the ibos living in the north then thats why you are blaming Ojukwu. Ibos were killed and slaughtered like chicken, goat and ram in all part of the north. And you expect their leader not to protect them by fighting against their enemies?? |
when will this HND wahala stop sef?? we are tired of it o. Yar'adua and David Mark should look into it and find a lasting solution please. Or are they trying to tell us that they don't have brothers and sisters with HND that are being discriminated?? |
He had a good reason to go into war with Gowon; that's my own. |
Make una leave dat man alone jo. The man try. He had a good reason for going into war with Gowon. Ibos were being slaughthered like ram and chiken and u expect Ojukwu not to declare Biafra republic and ask all ibos to come back home?? Till today ibos are still being killed in the north by hausa/fulani, why?? Ojukwu fought a just war, although he was not strong enough to win. |
He was a Lt. col prior to the civil war, and made himself a Gen when he declared his own Biafran republic. He did not serve as a General in the Nigerian Army, but in the Biafran Army he was a General. Idi Amin is still referred to as Field Marshal Idi Amin, though he imposed the rank on himself and many countries refused to recognise him as a Field Marshal; but he is still referred to as Field Marshal Idi Amin if reference is made about him. Ojukwu too should be referred to as General Ojukwu. Countries like France recognised him then as a General during the civil war. |
dot2002:My sista, na so people dey talk o. They said people who attend polytechnics acquire enough skills with little knowledge, while those who attend universities acquire enough knowledge with just liitle skills. They said university means universal, so they learn much there than polytechnics. God dey sha. |
@V/Admiral You are the one telling lies. Does a major-general in the Army legally earn up to 500k in a month?? |
So they stole money meant to develop their various states and used it to develop PDP abi?? if you knew that, then why are u still pointing fingers at yoruba, hausa, fulani etc. did they come to Niger-delta to steal the money and take to PDP?? Some governors in the north like Dariye also stole money and took to PDP. |
Hnd-holder:Middle-level man power refers to ND and not HND. |
dot2002:There is difference. They said HND people acquire skills while Bsc holders acquire knowledge; that's what i heard some of dem saying o. |
Yes they have increased their salary, but it cannot be compared with what people in NNPC, DPR and other oil companies and even some bankers earn. I see their pay schedule every month. Even a 2 star general earns less than some fresh graduates in some oil companies. I wonder why someone in the oil industry would be envying you becos you are putting on military uniform?? It could be an irony. |
ono:Why not answer the question?? Is that an excuse for them to steal, because other people are stealing too?? Like i said before until we can take care of our Niger-Delta issue right there in Niger-Delta, a solution can not be gotten. Let's pray that all former ND governors and ND local government chairmen are arrested, probed and the money dey lotted recovered from them. Stop using other state governors acts to justify the stealings carried out by ND governors. |
ono:Yes, atleast we know of one, Donald Duke of cross river state; he used his own loot to repair his state. The rest are big thieves. Alams, Ibori, Igbinedion, Victor Attah and father Odili. Nemesis is already catching up with them. |
Hnd-holder:Science and Engineering abi Science and Technology?? Sebi dem say Poly no dey run Engineering, but Engineering Technology?? |
ono:Yes, they stole money too; but still used the stolen money to develop their states. See, until we come to realise that the problem of ND is in ND, things will never go right. How can u explain a situation where someone like Alams who is supposed to be banned from Bayelsa and the entire ND but is well accomodated, and yet people like you still say he stole what belongs to him?? We need to realise on time that he is selfish and greedy (by eating alone what all of us should have eaten) and stop putting blames on other tribes. I for one don't put any blames on other tribes, but Niger Delta governors. |
Let them stop the discrimination against polytechnic graduates, that's all we are asking for. A level playing ground is what we are asking for. If HND in Accountancy does better than Bsc in Accounting in any aptitude test, the job should be given to the HND Accountancy graduate and vice versa. If HND in QS does better than Bsc in QS, the job should be given to the HND guy, and vice versa. why all these discrimination in the 1st place?? |
All blames should go to the governors of niger-delta, Bayelsa in particular. Have you asked urselves why PH and Calabar are beautiful cities today?? Can't Yenagoa be transformed into a beautiful city with the money Alams stole?? Pls lets stop putting the blames on yoruba/hausa/fulani, nupe, gwari, ebira, etc. |
mosho4real:Let me get you right. Is it that you have HND and you are working with your ND ow what?? If that's the case don't be happy o, because that is what we call under-employment. |
