Better go and buy DE form or buy UME and re-take ur JAMB again. This time around i expect u to pass very well since you have been able to do ND program. |
@HND-holder Longtime. Please let the guy go for certificate and pride; since that is what Nigerians want. Let him not go for skills and survival and suffer discrimination like we did. My guy pls hussle to the last till u get admission into any university. |
@saintchux There should n't be discrimination in the first place between holders of Bsc and HND in Nigeria. Government should just empower polytechnics to run their own post-graduate programs up to PhD level thats all. |
i think Gauss-seidel and Jacobi methods are numerical methods of solving linear equations. |
yabatech is still a polytechnic 4 now. |
HND is for old people. If you are still young go ahead and do a Bachelor's Degree program. |
Hnd-holder:Lip service is very bad. Thats why Nigeria will still be importing toothpick. |
@HND-holder Would you have bought the poly JAMB form for you child?? No body wants to send his/her child to the polytechnic. Even those that would have done well as crafts/vocational men end up getting Degrees they know nothing about. What does the president want to do about Technical/Technological education in Nigeria?? Since so many people have been shouting that Technology is the bedrock of development, what is he going to do about it?? is he going to give preference to polytechnics against universities?? abi all na just lip service?? |
let government take a final decision on polytechnics jo. we are tired of being kept in limbo. |
Ghenghis:You went too far. It's the Guassian elimination method (either through backsolving or elementary row operations). An example of a non-homogeneous system of linear equation with 3 unknowns is: 2x + 3y - 5z = 2 4x - y + 2z = 6 x + z - 4z = 4 |
olanajim:Yes, apply to any UK university and send your ND/HND transcripts to them. If you have atleast 120 credit hours you have the equivalent of a Degree and would be considered for the Masters program. |
@HND-holder HND certificate is not a problem. It is the society that has made it look like a problem. after all a lot of us passed through the polytechnic and are holders of the HND certificate; and we are doing well atleast. |
why should a Nigerian HND holder go for a Direct-entry in the UK when he/she can as well be given a direct Masters program there?? |
Better flee away from that kind of job. it's better for you to start making GSM calls with your mobile phone; you will definitely make that 5k in 2 weeks. Sebi u said u were a graduate?? Please let you graduateship be seen reflecting in you; you can do better things with your knowledge and skills to earn a living than doing a job of 5k in this present day Nigeria. It's an insult jo. |
Hello, pls does anybody knows if Nassarawa state university, keffi run part time PGD and Msc in any of the mathematical sciences (Mathematics, statistics, operations research and computer science)?? |
Ibadan poly, YabaTech, Kwara poly, Osun state poly Iree, Offa poly etc. But do you like the course?? Do you know how to use computers?? Go to a school that emphasizes on computerized statistics and not traditional statistics; so find out very well before picking any form. |
larryoncol:Believe it or not my friend's course codes are still 101, 111, 104 etc. What does that imply?? And there was a time that they spent more than one year without going to school; and he told me that they are having problems that government were yet to release money for somethings to be put in place in the school. He's been in that school since 2004 as far as i can remember. |
Polytechnics should be allowed to run MTech in Engineering Technology thats all. so that after your HND or BTech you can proceed to do your MTech. |
Check the RAM; if possible use a new one of the same configuration to see if the system will still behave that way. If it does then use the Operating System (Win XP) CD to repair the OS. You can do that by booting from CD and selecting Repair. Try it, it will surely work. |
Better go and do your HND in Secreterial Studies than going to that NOUN. You can get your HND within 2 years but a friend that has been in NOUN for the past 4 yrs have not even entered his 200 levels because of government policies as regards to funding etc. With your HND in sec studies you can get a very good job as a Secretary. Remember age no dey your side again oo. |
Uzokwe:i support you. Polytechnics, poly staff, poly students, parent and guardians of polytechnic students/graduates should also discriminate against banks that discriminate against poly gradutes. They should patronize only banks that employ and treat poly graduate like their uni counterparts. |
The new Federal government and Senate have not approved the conversion and as such the school still remains a polytechnic. I pity those mumu who actually believed that from next session the school will start running BTech programs. Just buy your HND or DE form and continue praying to God for FG and Senate to approve it for polytechnics to start running BTech, MTech and PhD; as well as recognising already existing HND to be the equivalent of a BTech Degree. |
intercontinental bank, oceanic bank, 1st bank and union bank employ HND holders and give dem d same level as BSc holders. But UBA, GTB, Access employ HND holders as contract staff and make dem work like slaves. |
hamabra:You can do a PGD and MSc; that will give you an edge over people with only Bsc. With your MSc you can even become a Lecturer in the university and be doing your PhD. |
Hnd-holder:You are right o bros. Polytechnic education in Nigeria is obsolete; University education is in vogue now with enough advantages. So even if you are dull and you go to a university you stand ahead of a brilliant polytechnic graduate in the society, na wa oo!! |
iyke_5:What you said might not be correct because it is not all polytechnic students/graduates that are good academically and pratically. Some university graduates (not all) are better than some polytechnic graduates (not all) academically and practically; and some polytechnic graduates (not all) are better than some university graduates (not all) academically and pratically. so don't conclude that all polytechnic gradutes are better than university graduates practically or academically. It depends on the individual. |
davidylan:I'm with you David. US and other EU nations are only helping us by paying Dollars for our oil, because they can as well develop alternative source of fuel and boycott buying crude oil. If they decide to do that where will a country like Nigeria be getting Dollars from?? So they stand to loose nothing even if OPEC countries decide to stop selling oil to US and EU. |
hamabra:Please help me ask am o. Polytechnic HND graduates need to be recognised and respected at all levels in all sectors whether public or private dats all. |
Only God will help Polytechnic graduates in Nigeria. |
hamabra:Just have confidence in urself. Go ahead and do a PGD and MSc that may help you. |
@HND-holder This stratification should be based on US educational system and does not relate to Nigeria, because in Nigeria there is no clear distinction between what the polytechnics and universities do in engineering. Polytechnic engineering students in Nigeria are said to be doing engineering technology but yet they do a lot of maths courses like their university counterparts. Or don't they do Algebra, Logic, Calculus, Real analysis, DE, Numerical analysis, Statistics etc in Engineering Technology courses in Nigeria Polytechnics?? They do Engineering and not Engineering Technology in our polytechnics if thats the case, since Mathematics is what seperates Engineering from Engineering Technology. With the level of Mathematics polytechnic students attain i think NBTE and NUC should come together and spell out the difference between Engineering Technology and Engineering, because it seems the polytechnic syllabus is almost richer than that of the university. |
moshoodn:Good for you. But why did you say the discrimination has ended?? Simply because they don't discriminate in your company does nt mean they dont discriminate in other companies or the discrimination has stopped. |

the problem is the same USA and other European nations own the technology for exploring your oil, these same people are the ones paying the dollars that are sustaiining your economies. Without oil most OPEC nations would be third world cesspools of poverty. Did i forget to tell you that refusing to supply oil will only hasten your downfall? Woe betide you the day these nations decide to devote a lot more of their resources to alternative fuel and render your crude oil useless.
