This should serve as deterrence to other Nigerians who are noise makers in a foreign land.
You can't leave a confused nation like Nigeria where every kind of nuisance is allowed and go to the US and constitute nuisance to a sane society.

The way worship houses and clubs blast sound all over the country is a sign that our mental health as a nation needs to be properly assessed.

You plus the 108 people who liked and shared your comment are si.ck in the head.
How dare you try to justify this cruelty? When did the US or any country in the world place death penalty on any one over loud music?
Some things are unjustifiable, you should know that.

well in law enforcement business , you must use all tactics to get rapist and murderers arrested,. th Nigerian Police ACT is online for anyone who wants to read about rules of engagement

but for avoidance of doubt, i will explain further, once you flag down a suspect, and he refuses to stop, you can use all force necessary to subdue him, that is why NYPD always gun down gangster balcks that feel above the law

Stop talking like everyone on NL is an illiterate, some of us did Law 101 in School. Honestly, I think you should go back and read the Police Act again, I'm not sure you understood what you read or probably you've not even read it.

When is a Police officer allowed to your maximum force to apprehend a suspect who wants to evade arrest? The last time I checked, maximum force can only be used when the suspect is alleged to have committed a Felony, Treason and if a suspect is armed . In this case you have no idea of what those guys did and why they were chased until they ran into the Lagoon.
Some of you talk like you are visitors in this country, as if only criminals get chased by the Police. There are innocent people languishing in our Prisons for doing absolutely nothing, some of them were arrested for merely walking at night and they ended up in Prison.
You don't have the full information of what transpired between those teenagers and the Police officers, so stop talking like you were an eye witness.

We work hard to earn money, so it's rational for us to spend our money on only products/services that (we believe) will add value to our lives.

Yesterday, I heard of a phone that costs #600k. The first question that came to my mind was:

what will I enjoy from this phone that my Google Pixel won't give?

So I decided to throw this question to the house.

How can you rationally justify spending #600k on a phone?

Thanks.
That's Bill Gates leasing a Yatch for 5million Dollars per week. What do you have to say? Was he being irrational?

. I feel u r just trying to justify financial recklessness ... In most cases our only reason to acquire wealth is to oppress the next person . am sure if we lock most of the persons buying this phones in a room and tell them not to flaunt the phone or show it to any person .. They won't have a need for the phone again .. We just feel satisfied when we think we have what others don't have .. A very stupid way to live ..
Would you also say this is a stupid way for Bill Gates to live? That's Bill Gates leasing a Yatch for 5millon Dollars a week.. I guess he spends irrationally.

If only you could read to understand you will get my point, I dare you to leave the comfort of your uncomfortable environment and go to the slum and tell people about "climate change", go explain to the man who has barely eaten in days, the man Who cannot afford his kids school fees because he hasn't received his minimum wage in months, the man who hasn't seen electricity in months but the Bill's keep coming, go tell these people that ice is melting rapidly in North pole and see whether they wont change your climate with slaps........ angry

First, your first quote made no sense at all. I mean, how would someone who claims to be educated and abreast with happenings around his environment say Nigeria has no business with climate change? Have you noticed the heavy rainfall and the flooding down south in recent years? That's as a result of climate change. People's farm land are being taken over by flood. abi na only ice melting for North Pole be climate change?
Currently, there's desertification going on the North and the Sahel region as a result of climate change and this has resulted in migration of people from those areas and it's one of the causes of insecurity in the South. Herders are looking for ways to feed their herds, hence the reason we have had Herders/Farmers crisis yet you say we don't have any business with climate change.

Second, yes this is a faceless forum but trust me, not everyone on nairaland lives in an uncomfortable environment like you do.

it is not an immediate problem unemployment insecurity and mass illiteracy are our immediate problems if he is intelligent enough to link it to climate change, maybe bring in agriculture etc it would have made sense
What's the theme of this year's UNGA summit again? If you can dissect the theme of this year's summit, what the government's plans are to protect the future of the youths in regards to the rapid climate change the earth is experiencing and what role the youths have to play in combating climate change, just maybe you might cut the President some slack.
Climate change is an immediate problem that Nigeria has to tackle head on,the desertification going on the North and around the Lake Chad basin is one of the reasons we have had security problems down South for instance the Fulani herders/Farmers conflict(insecurity is an immediate problem). You may not agree with this but trust me, we have to tackle climate change here in Nigeria and I think planting of trees is one of the ways to tackling it.

Back to the subject, the North also voted for OBJ in 1999 and 2003 RESPECTIVELY, I guess we're not in 1999 or 2003. Northerners just like people from other regions follows their elites. There's load of time for politicking between now and 2023 and it's still too early for you predict what would happen then. I'm sure you also predicted Atiku's victory at the polls.
Don't you think some of these Northerners declaring interest to run for Presidency in 2023 want to use it as a bargaining tool, same thing Fayose did despite he being in the know that the PDP had zoned it Presidential ticket to the North?

Ochereome Nnanna a former Vanguard Columnist in one of his write up warned Tinubu of the "Poisoned Relationship" he was having with Buhari but Tinubu never listened.
