solmusdesigns:Stop talking like everyone on NL is an illiterate, some of us did Law 101 in School. Honestly, I think you should go back and read the Police Act again, I'm not sure you understood what you read or probably you've not even read it. When is a Police officer allowed to your maximum force to apprehend a suspect who wants to evade arrest? The last time I checked, maximum force can only be used when the suspect is alleged to have committed a Felony, Treason and if a suspect is armed . In this case you have no idea of what those guys did and why they were chased until they ran into the Lagoon. Some of you talk like you are visitors in this country, as if only criminals get chased by the Police. There are innocent people languishing in our Prisons for doing absolutely nothing, some of them were arrested for merely walking at night and they ended up in Prison. You don't have the full information of what transpired between those teenagers and the Police officers, so stop talking like you were an eye witness. 4 Likes |

soberdrunk: First, your first quote made no sense at all. I mean, how would someone who claims to be educated and abreast with happenings around his environment say Nigeria has no business with climate change? Have you noticed the heavy rainfall and the flooding down south in recent years? That's as a result of climate change. People's farm land are being taken over by flood. abi na only ice melting for North Pole be climate change? Currently, there's desertification going on the North and the Sahel region as a result of climate change and this has resulted in migration of people from those areas and it's one of the causes of insecurity in the South. Herders are looking for ways to feed their herds, hence the reason we have had Herders/Farmers crisis yet you say we don't have any business with climate change. Second, yes this is a faceless forum but trust me, not everyone on nairaland lives in an uncomfortable environment like you do. 2 Likes |

visionex:What's the theme of this year's UNGA summit again? If you can dissect the theme of this year's summit, what the government's plans are to protect the future of the youths in regards to the rapid climate change the earth is experiencing and what role the youths have to play in combating climate change, just maybe you might cut the President some slack. Climate change is an immediate problem that Nigeria has to tackle head on,the desertification going on the North and around the Lake Chad basin is one of the reasons we have had security problems down South for instance the Fulani herders/Farmers conflict(insecurity is an immediate problem). You may not agree with this but trust me, we have to tackle climate change here in Nigeria and I think planting of trees is one of the ways to tackling it. 1 Like |

AFONJAPIG:So you don tag me as Yoruba because of wetin I talk? Lol You've now accepted your place as Fulani slaves, i used to think that the Yorubas and every other tribes/ethnic groups that voted BUHARI were the only Fulani slaves in Nigeria. Back to the subject, the North also voted for OBJ in 1999 and 2003 RESPECTIVELY, I guess we're not in 1999 or 2003. Northerners just like people from other regions follows their elites. There's load of time for politicking between now and 2023 and it's still too early for you predict what would happen then. I'm sure you also predicted Atiku's victory at the polls. Don't you think some of these Northerners declaring interest to run for Presidency in 2023 want to use it as a bargaining tool, same thing Fayose did despite he being in the know that the PDP has zoned it Presidential ticket to the North? |
