First controversy of the night- maicon voted defender of the year The clear winner in my book is Lucio by a long stretch. |
I predict a repeat of last seasons fixture i.e fulham to carry the day @ the cottage. scummies habit of starting the season slowly will count in fulham's favour. I hope they fully capitalize on the tantalizing opportunity ![]() |
v3:The answer to the pm you sent me is NO. I recommend Borat, omo ibo or Ibime. |
This has to go down as the second most ridiculous deal after Ibra-eto'o last season Releasing Petrov and Bellamy,(the club's most dangerous wingers/wing forward) further exposes Mancini's ineptitude as a manager. What could possibly be the rational behind releasing, the club's best player last season, on loan to cardiff ![]() |
Was this a desperate move on his part to play in the premiership at all cost ![]() He deserves a better club. |
BlueDiva:This is the official blues thread. any other thread is a counterfeit ![]() |
rasputinn: That's madness in its purest, unadulterated form. you don't have to be Joseph to figure out the meaning of that dream. One can only cope with trophylessness for so long. |
dayokanu:You can't be serious . . absolute gibberish Who and who talks about fontaine ? There's a reason why some names (Fontaine,Klose) rarely appears on the list of greatest stikers/footballers ever. I'm yet to see any pundit that will rate him higher or put him on the same level as Pele, ronaldo lima, eusebio, Puskas,Romario et al. only a drunk goat will include Fontaine and klose in their top 10 list of greatest players ever. some things are so obvious |
kITA TITA:What's the reason behind your assertion |
Good start to the season. Our awful 4 game losing streak has finally ended. looking forward to the big game tomorrow |
Game over. Essien, Drogba, Malouda and Ivanovic were the top performers tonight. I wish some of our youngsters could have been introduced @ 4-0 when the game was literally over |
Goal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Why is Ivanovic's not starting. Is he injured |
This is THE official thread for the greatest club in the world and current EPL champions ![]() Everyone is welcomed including the haters May we end the season with cabinet full of trophies . Let's go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1302764/Mario-Balotelli-sign-Manchester-City.html#ixzz0wUt0Vnyv Super' Mario Balotelli jets in to finalise £23m switch to Manchester City Inter Milan bad-boy ‘Super’ Mario Balotelli has completed his medical ahead of completing a move to Manchester City. Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini is on the verge of being reunited with a player he brought through the ranks at Inter before pitching up in the Barclays Premier League. The striker, who turned 20 on Thursday, is believed to be making the switch for an initial fee of £20million with an extra £3m to be paid in add-ons. The move would cap a memorable week for Balotelli who made his international debut with Italy on Wednesday night. And the European champions have now given him permission to travel to England, on a private jet laid on by City, to finalise the deal. His arrival will come too late to be registered for the season curtain-raiser against Tottenham but he is expected to make his debut in the clash with Liverpool on August 23. Mancini said: 'We are close with Balotelli. Hopefully today or tomorrow. Mario is on his way here today.' Balotelli's team-mate Marco Materazzi has already expressed his dismay at the departure, he said: 'I am happy for Mario, but we will be weakened by his departure.' But the City boss conceded the deal to secure James Milner will take a little longer after hitting a snag. Stephen Ireland's demand for a whopping £2m to leave the club and his attempts to avoid a huge pay-cut from his current £72,000-a-week have put the breaks on the England midfielder's transfer to Eastlands. |
It's shocking that no club is showing interest in World cup golden boot winner, Forlan. . . shocking |
chrisical:Santos slam Blues over Neymar Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has hit out at Chelsea's conduct in their pursuit of his club's star striker, Neymar. The 18-year-old, who recently marked his Brazil debut with a goal in a 2-0 win over the USA, has been tracked by the Blues for some time, but Robeiro has had enough and is weighing up a complaint to FIFA. He told reporters: "The club have made a formal offer that was rejected outright, but the harassment has continued. "In light of the ethical positions that should govern the relationship between clubs, that is totally intolerable and Santos will defend its interests before FIFA. "Yesterday, there was a telephone call. They got in touch with my secretary and asked for our fax number. "That does not mean the opening for trading. Santos has no interest in negotiating over Neymar for any money. "The contract between the player and the club has a compensation clause. If the clause is satisfied, we cannot do anything." I don't think so. report from santos suggests otherwise. I will love to see him at the club tho, amazing talent he is |
HNIC:Spot on. I couldn't have articulated that any better. People are not giving him the credit he deserves. for a second choice goalie he has done a remarkable job so far and has already gained my respect regardless of his future performances. Wenger needs to buy a decent goalie if you are to be taken seriously and win laurels this season. as folli pointed out, your mediocre goalies have cost you numerous titles in previous seasons and splurging on a decent/world class goalie would be a rewarding investment IMHO. |
HNIC:We should offload him to the arsenal to complement the list of duds at the club as wenger seems to have a thing for mediocre goalies ![]() that may just fulfill his fantasies , don't you think ![]() on a serious note: I still have some confidence in the lad to produce the goods in Cech's absence, he is experienced and has risen to the most difficult challenges in the past. I will attribute his woeful performance in recent times to drop in form which all goalies and players are subjected to. |
Dudu has to be the most delusional personality on NL. confirmed |
slimshay:What's wrong in pointing out FACTS, or is Wenger not a buffoon? Follypimpi , I dey gbadun your honesty jare. |
mama-gee:George Weah He won both the World and European player of the year in 1995 |
Our performance over the last 2 months, if anything, should have negatively affected our ranking. Those waste pipes called the super chickens should be ranked 124th in the world behind Burundi ![]() |
Jarus:Great minds think alike ![]() |
bgees:Given your limited transfer budget, Zamora is an excellent addition to the squad. His quality should not even be in question as he is amongst the top 3 English strikers atm. FACT |
Berbatov has ONE decent game and suddenly he is a gem. When the season begins and He returns to his normal crappy self, all the praises will turn into curses and doom ![]() |
To be fair on Hilario, he has covered well for Cech in competitive games over the years. notably against Barcelona, Liverpool and scummmies Perhaps age is catching up with him. |
Happy birthday nazzydk, hope you have a good one |
dayokanu:Going by that logic, Klose is better than Klinsmann, Batistuta, Romario, Shearer, Roberto Baggio, Stoichov, George Weah, Del piero et al |
