And when the dividends of what they are fighting for comes through, you become a beneficiary, right? In other words, you are okay with the way Nigeria is.

When you were locked up at home for months in the name of a COVID-19 pandemic that people were clearly sabotaging and making money from, you didn't scream foul.

I think the least you can do if you can't join the protest, is congratulate those who have the courage to do what you couldn't do.

These guys are inconveniencing themselves to send a message across. They are fighting not just for themselves, but for generations unborn.

So, stop being selfish, because whether you like it or not, with the way Nigeria is going, soon, no one would have a means of livelihood due to the looming insecurity and poverty in the land.

Never forget:

That you have a job today, doesn't mean those without one aren't hardworking enough.

Some people lost their jobs from the pandemic, and businesses were shut. Yet our government never gave palliatives to people who felt the heat most.

If you think you are safe because you haven't been hit by police brutality today, don't cry when it becomes your story tomorrow.

I really don't care what private individuals choose to do with their monies, but I think it's pathetic that a governor would use tax payers money to fund his obsession.

These guys don't cease to amaze me. How many innovative programmes have commanded the kind of attention BBN commands? What precedence are we really setting for upcoming generations?

I hope we are steadily getting ready to reap the excesses we are sowing, as a nation? I hope we are looking forward to an era where our kids will downplay education. After all, if a show can earn them all they crave, why bother with the rigors that come with the fourwalls of a classroom?

Students who indulge in sleepless nights to participate in debates, are rewarded with indomie. Those who graduate tops in class are given a presidential handshake. And those who have developed some "made in Nigeria" products are moving from place to place begging for just N100,000 financial support.

And you begin to wonder which way for us, as a people. So much misplaced priority. I have no issues with entertainment. It has its role. But we are constantly undermining other aspects of our economy and the import it plays in our lives.

True, he can reconcile with his first wife, second, third or whichever wife he chooses to.

All his marriages were recognized by God.

When he entered into another marriage, he annulled the first covenant.

Jesus replied the Samaritan woman he met at well..." You have had four husbands and the one you are with isn't your husband"...

I believe this suggests that all the marriages she was entering into were recognized. How else will one have four husbands?

Jesus didn't say, you had a husband and 3 concubines-- The words of the master was deliberate.

Unless you want to suggest that the Samaritan woman kept losing each husband to death, which licensed her marriage to other men.

The Bible says whoever is joined with a prostitute is one with her. And that doesn't stop during marriage.

A married man who goes sleep with someone who isn't his wife is one with the new one he sleeps with. When he returns and sleeps with his wife, he reenters into a covenant with her.

Which is why God condemns adultery and fornication.

People see sex as "having fun". God sees it as entering in and out of covenants, and there are damnable consequences, for He is a covenant keeping God.

Marriage is honourable and the bed undefiled.

Divorce isn't a pleasant experience, and serious punishment. Because usually, there is no closure.

When God says He hates divorce is because of the dilemma involved. It doesn't have the dignity of closure that the death of a spouse would have accorded.

He further insulted the President by announcing his resignation from APC at the Presidential villa. That said, win or lose, Obaseki needs to make peace with Tinubu, Oshiomole and co. If he loses on Saturday, that is the end of his political career and international appointments. I feel for him. I see a repetition just as the Bible says.

1 Thessalonians 5:4 clearly spells that the rapture isn't meant to take awake Christians unawares.

Why? Because the signs are there for us to read, which is why Pastor Chris made projections.

Don't be like the foolish virgins who went out to buy oil because they refused to observe the signs when the bridegroom will come.

You really think Pastor Chris doesn't know what he is talking about? I am yet to meet a more scholar of the word like Pastor Chris.

Outbursts like yours reminds me that the Bible says the rapture will occur like the floods in the time of Noah.

Noah went around announcing the flood and he was jeered at.

Many years ago I remember Pastor Chris mentioning that the rapture isn't anywhere close from what Bible prophecy reflects. And that once the rapture of the Church is close, he will alert the Church.

And that's what he is doing now.

1 Thessalonian 5:4 is clear: the rapture isn't meant to take those who are in the light unawares.

Pastor Chris isn't stupid. He knows what he is talking about.

Longevity and material gain you say? Pathetic!

A man was mimicked and did you notice the calibre of people that stood in his defence and ready to die if need be?

When you impact men, they will be willing to die in the stakes for you.

How many people are loyal to you? How many lives have you impacted?

If Oyedepo coughs today, do you have any inclination as to how many people will rise up?

That's impact.

If I were you, I'll ask what is it about this man?

It is God that honours a man. And honour begets honour. Promotion doesn't come from the East, West, or South but from the North.

Hmmm...you may be right. But if the Bible is the topic of discourse, then you're wrong, because it wasn't fashioned out by men, so it's rid of sentiments and gender bias.

The Bible is a manual from the manufacturer of man on how he can live a fruitful life as he transitions on earth.

So even if the manufacturer is mistaken, or the manual flawed, wisdom says I should stick with it if I want to live.

I can't say the same for any book authored by man.

If the Bible is what you seek to follow. Then, yes sir; the submission of a woman should be total.

Maybe you should read out the relationship of Sarah and Abraham. She called Abraham, Lord.

If marriages are to be enjoyed, then let everyone play their role wholeheartedly.

Act your script well irrespective of whether the other chooses to or not.

I think we undermine the power of submission. Submission is a very powerful tool; much more effective than insisting on your way.

God knows this: and He gave women that weapon to offset their husband whom most often times bask in ego.

Submission will always paralyse ego.

In the end, we're all accountable to God who rewards us accordingly.

Marriage is sustained by knowledge, understanding, and wisdom- (Prov 24:3-4). I believe strongly that people who debate who should submit first are those who have issues with pride.

We may not like it as ladies, but a woman isn't a partner with her husband. Her husband is her lord, for anything that has two heads is a monster.

God instituted marriage and set order. You have issues with your hubby as a wife? Then dialogue, and if he disagrees, report him to His Lord; who is also your Lord.

If you have issues with trusting God to deal with your hubby, then it means you have issues with your salvation in the first place. There's nothing more unappealing than a lady who always wants to have her way. It takes off the poise, charisma, dignity, and charm you have as a lady.

Let the man lead. And here's the obvious: Don't marry a man you cannot submit to. I believe it's that simple.

Can you please, please just be quiet? It sounds like an appeal, but it truly isn't.

You have the impetus to talk about private jet. I don't think you have an inclination of what you are saying.

You should be weeping that with all the tax you pay, that hasn't bettered your life in anyway, your country is still the headquarters of poverty in the world.

With all the increment and a higher standard of living, you truly think the private jets acquired by any pastor should be your concern?

This is truly sad! Who is holding government accountable? How has the tithe or the private jet bought by pastors affected you in any way?

How much of your offering was used in acquiring the jet? Tell me. Calculate your offering and ask yourself: can it buy the tyres of a jet, let alone a seat?

Yet you're weeping over pastors acquiring jet. Those who truly give to God know they are being blessed by giving, whilst those who are broke complain about pastors jet.

Forget about pastors jet. Give your way into prosperity and stop speaking against the things you desire for yourself.

Were pastors elected to better our economy? In what way do freewill donations and offerings affect the state of our country?

Are pastors jets the reason pump price is threatening to increase? Are pastors jets the reason government increased VAT while salaries remained the same? Are pastors jets the reason those who looted your economy haven't been brought to book? Are pastors jets responsible for the insecurity or high standard of living in the land? Are pastors jets the reason for the nonchalance and cluelessness of our government?

You are giving government a nod to go mess up the church's treasury like they have our nation's.

I say No! Let them go and hold themselves accountable for all the tax we've been paying.

There are many muslim communities just like Zakzaky group in North. They mind their business and never get involved in govt issues. Zakyzaky stays in govt business all the time. Thats why he is in trouble now.

Jonathan set a bad precedence when he will have these pastors meddling govt business. They got too comfortable and started commenting on what govt is doing or not doing. When you are a tax exempt organization, stay away from govt the best you can. Put a long distance between you and govt. Govt has all the rules and ways to fvk up anyone, if they choose to. These churches did same thing Zakyzaky did, started fvkng with govt. So now govt wants to fcvk with them too. Its unfortunate but its reality.

There is a pastor in America called Pastor Dollar or something like that. He used to condemn govt and live large and flaunt. One of their legislators got on his case and wanted to probe him and his church. The Pastor got the message at that point.

If CAMA can bring out same result in Nigerian pastors it will be great. The money they waste on acquiring jets and building for-profit private institutions should be better used in promoting wellbeing and supporting needs of communities and people. At the end of it people benefit when churches come to their aid in time of distress and need.[/quote]

Those quoting that the Church should obey all of the government's instruction against it, because the Bible says so, are grossly misinformed.

The Bible also states to give to God what is God's and to Caesar what is Caesar's.

The monies we give as donation and offerings have already been taxed for Christ's sakes.

What's the government doing with all the monies in their coffers? Except bagging the poverty headquarters of the world, with huge debts on its neck.

The Church was the primary means of livelihood for most homes during this pandemic, whilst the government orchestrated plans to siphon funds that could have made the lives of the masses better.

How much more money does the government need? VAT increased with no increment in salary amidst the aggravated hardship.

Take it or leave it: the Church is the most functional entity in Nigeria. Their employees are paid on time, and you hardly hear of a church that has gone bankrupt.

This should tell the state something:

In the Bible, the Prophet Daniel of old upheld God's Word and was ready to burn in the stakes instead of obeying a government's injunction.

So, daring the audacity of the government by Papa Oyedepo wouldn't be anything strange-- for the state is overstepping its boundaries.

If these mega churches had squandered the monies received by members, the government will have nothing to be eyeing.

Lazy government. Kindly go and take a long sleep for on this one, you have failed.

Lauretta and co, should go and imbibe the ways of the Church and be wise, for a progressive Nigeria. Envying affluent men of God is completely unnecessary.

If it's easy to get people to be gullible, everyone would have a thriving church.

Nevertheless, I believe that until the church rises up as one and speak with one voice, the state may keep advancing.

I truly wish we had more Christians like Papa Oyedepo and Pst. Chris-- with audacity.

When the state started dictating how services should be run all in the name of COVID19, I knew there would be more stringent rules coming, as they have been tasting their might.

Christianity isn't "zombiesm". No! It's not.

If you're a Christian and you're applauding this move, I am truly sorry for you.

Know this: persecuting God's church is tantamount to persecuting Christ, and there is the warfare dimension of the God we worship.

We shall surely overcome.

Christianity EtcWhy Aren't You Perfect? by janeedema(op): 2:12pm On Jul 16, 2020
"No one is perfect", you may have heard some people say, as a way to make excuses for their lapse or the shortcoming of others.

The question becomes: why aren't you, or what are you doing about it?

There's a huge difference between saying: "I'm not perfect" and "I'm working towards perfection"

Whilst one is an excuse, the other is taking responsibility for an obvious shortcoming.

And as we know: excuses have never been known to improve anyone or anything - Never!

Don't gallant in your imperfections, talk instead about what you are working towards becoming.

It's even more sad when Christians flaunt they aren't perfect like there's a scriptural verse that justifies it.

So I get:

You lie because it's your weakness.
You cheat on your hubby because you are clay.
You beat up your wife because you are just a man.
You steal because you aren't perfect.
You fight in your neighbourhood because you are made of humus.

But I also get that:

The kidnappers, murderers, rapists, paedophiles, corrupt politicians, scammers, etc also do these because they are made of clay.

Why do you share their atrocities on social media and shout "tufiakwa" but excuse yours by claiming, "no one is perfect"?

Or is there a thermometer to measure which of these imperfections is greater?

I tell you the truth:

Every supposedly heinous crime carried out once started as a suggestion, a subtle character flaw, a mere imperfection.

That your imperfections doesn't seem grievous doesn't make the sanction on it any less.

Please and please.

I humbly admonish us:

If you don't look like what the scripture portrays you to be in character, then weep and ask for grace, not flaunt your obvious character flaws and blame it on being clay.

As Christians, we have been called to be perfect *(Matthew 5:48),* and if you aren't, let that be your desire daily instead of confessions of:

"I'm not perfect" or "No one is perfect."

Please say boldly at all times:

I walk towards perfection, and I am mightily helped of God to be perfect in all things. I am a symbol of perfection; I am perfect and free from character flaws, in Jesus' Name.

And as you consistently declare, it will become your reality.
