If you cannot see the objectivity of their posts and the insensitivity of the Nigerian government, maybe you should hold your peace.

Who visits the markets? Is it not people with money?

How do you take people's means of livelihood without palliatives? Isn't that also equal to death?

Did the government stop PHCN from bringing bills? How do they pay? Would their stay home prevent landlords from coming to request rent when due?

You are either grossly wicked or as insensitive as the Nigerian government.

Let me add:

All these guys in government haven't stopped earning salaries one day. Yet they put other people's lives on hold in the name of fighting a so called virus.

If the virus only kills those with underlying ailment, then there truly is no reason why life can't return to normalcy.

Christianity EtcRe: Lagos Government Suspends Re-Opening Of Churches And Mosques by janeedema(f): 3:46am On Jun 17, 2020
I just can't understand the rationale behind the actions of the Nigerian government.

Most churches have already put measures in place to comply with their directives, and you truly think the churches are a threat?

This looks more like a segregated attack.

People queue up at ATM stands, markets, offices, buses, etc. With no respect for social distancing, and they don't have an issue with that.

Saw pixs from George Floyd's memorial service in the United states, and not an iota of social distancing was observed.

How come we are the ones carrying this thing on our head?

These churches have employees and there are some pastors in full time ministry. True, God always takes care of His own, but I don't see any objectivity in this move.

Besides, with all the so called increase in death rate and way people are contracting the disease, it's kinda strange that one hasn't come across someone that knows someone who knows someone that has died of corona virus.

If all deaths from corona virus is linked to underlying sicknesses, then they should allow people lead their normal lives, especially those who clearly know they have no underlying ailments.

If at least one person has been cured of this virus, why not make available to the public the prescription they used in curing the patient?

All these unnecessary hype these guys are giving this pandemic is what I can't get.

You guys should just allow normalcy to life.

Christianity EtcWho Is A Virgin? by janeedema(op): 10:14am On Jun 09, 2020
A virgin is someone who has never done it before -- Dr Myes Munroe.

Oh...it's absolutely fine if "it" in that definition means sex to you. However, "it" could mean a variety of things.

If you've never driven a car before... you are a virgin to driving cars.
If you've never anchored an event before...you are a virgin in that area.
If you've never cooked before, you're a virgin in that aspect.
The list goes on...

Now, I believe the definition of virginity in this context is clear.

Here's the thing about God.

He's very interested in virgins. He hardly ever gives people tasks or assignments on things they have experience in.

And you know why?

So, you won't carry out the task without depending on Him. If the assignment God is calling you to do looks like one you can find the answers on Google, then you need to be doubly sure that God is the one sending you to embark on it.

Mary the mother of Jesus was saddled with the assignment of birthing the messiah-- she was a virgin as far as that assignment was concerned.
Elizabeth the mother of John the Baptist was tasked with birthing the forerunner of Jesus Christ at old age-- clearly a miracle child and a virgin project.
Jesus insisted on an ass that no one has ridden to drive him into Jerusalem.
God declared everything that opens the womb of man or beast sacred.

What do all these mean to you?

The purpose for which God created you is akin to you, as it was with Mary and Elizabeth, which is why He always directs you to who can help you nurture it.

And the Angel Gabriel said to Mary, ...and Elizabeth is pregnant. Why didn't he say, your brother's wife is pregnant or one of your girlfriends is pregnant.

He was key about Elizabeth, because who helps you nurture the vision or purpose for which God has called you can either break or launch you.

Don't give up on that vision God has laid in your heart. Ask God where your Elizabeth is who can help nurse your dream to fruition.

Most people choose mentors by sight and spiritual leaders by the size of a congregation. This is so wrong; don't be a part of that.

If Mary were to choose a mentor, I believe you wouldn't have chosen an old barren woman. Don't forget Elizabeth at that time was hiding inside the house ashamed of being pregnant at old age. So, no one knew she was with child at old age.

But the angel knew that Mary's assignment and immaculate conception could only be believed and nurtured by someone who was also carrying a vision that was similar to hers.

If Mary had talked to friends or people who weren't tasked with a similar calling, they would have either jeered at her, calling her a cheat or made her think the vision she was tasked with was impossible.

Ask God to choose your mentors to help you nurture your purpose. He gave you the assignment, He alone knows who would better help you nurse it.

The angel didn't send Mary to Anna...remember her? The woman who became a widow very early and resolved to stay in the temple living her life by praying and fasting for the coming of the messiah.

Anna was a spiritual person living in the temple, but God didn't send Mary to her.

Don't choose mentors because they look spiritual; some people's call no matter how spiritual may not align with God's calling for your life. So, instead of nurturing you, they will feel threatened by you. Remember the story of David and Saul?

On the other hand, if you have no idea what your purpose on earth is, I urge you to go ask your maker. Because God is only committed to providing for His vision in Your life. And as sure as He lives, He wants you to know why you are here. And by the way that's what the definition of purpose is: Why am I here?

Christianity EtcHere's The One Person Immune To Change by janeedema(op):
The only constant thing is change.
And that implies people, places, things, etc.

So, don't be surprised when people (loved ones inclusive) act weird today and all funny tomorrow.

(In fact keep a special place in your heart for such occurrences; they call it MOOD SWING) or worse, the MOOD remains on a SWING that never returns.

Don't feel overwhelmed when an app you just purchased suddenly needs an update, or a certification exam you paid heavily for suddenly have a newer version.

Don't feel dejected that a place you visited just a couple of months ago now looks totally different; making it look like you have dementia.

Change they say is the only constant thing.

But there's someone who's immune to change

Yes! He is the Lord!

And He said: I am the Lord, I change not (Malachi 3:6)

You want assurance? Then, that's the real assurance right there.

He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He's mightier than swings in moods, and awesomely anti-update.

Oh....you need Him; especially in a world like ours where everything and everyone is ephemeral and transient. You need something REAL.

So, embrace change and create space for it. But much more, embrace the Certainty & Assurance found ONLY in God.
Christianity EtcRe: What Will You Be Speaking After You Die? by janeedema(op): 5:23pm On May 21, 2020
if you want to be remembered long after your body expires, while you live write something worth reading or do something worth writing about. SOm people will live just in time, others will still speak long after they have transcended into eternity. That decision is made while the person is alive.
When you watch movies and feel inspired by it, only to realize the person who featured in the movie has long died, that is someone who still speaks even after being dead. When you listen to songs that were sang by people before they died, that's them speaking even though they are dead. When you read books of authors who have translated to glory, that's an author speaking to you even while they are gone.

The dead won't concern themselves with the language any longer, but they had already made sure they settled it before their body expired.

Dtruthspeaker:
It is the living who speak and have languages not the dead!

Those who die now without Life, shall never have to be concerned about languages after dying

"Lord I want to change the world for you", "Lord give me the nations for my inheritance"... I would pray.. Psalm 2:8 out loud.

Most times, after I finish those long exhilarating prayer sessions and filling cool with myself that I have prayed. I will hear deep in my spirit:

"The world includes your compound, your street, public transports, hospitals, markets... Have you changed those places for me yet?

Many times, we are concerned about doing great things for GOD, and ignore the little things that we should be doing that makes our world better.

Your faithfulness in little instructions and tasks is what graduates you for more.

Yesterday, the world celebrated the life of Rev. Ravi Zecharias and how much impact he made in the world while he lived.

But he didn't get there until after being tried faithful in little acts of worship.

As I went through excerpts from his book, I suddenly became aware of a man who was dead but still speaking.

Funnily, I didn't know "jah" about him until he died.

So, what are you working on presently that will keep speaking after your body expires? It doesn't have to be huge; just ensure though that it is YOUR assignment.

You want to take over the world in any field of endeavour? Don't ignore starting small and being faithful to the process.

God bless You.

Christianity EtcRe: Aggressive, Violent, Cool, Calm, Which Is The Best Way To Pray As A Christian? by janeedema(f): 11:39am On May 17, 2020
You were born into Christianity, you say. But in truth, Christianity isn't something you are born into. It isn't a religion. You become a Christian by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal saviour, not by birth.

Service in church doesn't make you a member of God's family. Only salvation in the one and only name-- Jesus, does.

How you pray will largely be dependent on how the Holy Spirit that comes to reside at the time of salvation leads.

Cause our words are empty without being empowered by the Holy Spirit. Even Jesus for 30 years didn't say anything that was worth writing about until the Holy Spirit came upon Him after His baptism by John.

Remember that even God didn't say let there be light until the Holy Spirit had hovered over the waters.

My point? Your prayers are empty words full of emotions without the Holy Spirit.

So, start from giving your heart to Christ, and take it up from there.

This way, when you pray, you will pray in line with scriptures, because you are God's child.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a different matter. But after salvation. You should ask the Holy Spirit to come infill you. And this happens with evidence of speaking in tongues. In my opinion, this is when you truly start enjoying Christianity.

When you pray in tongues, you don't pray amiss or carnally. You pray with precision and exactness. And that is where God desires to bring each and everyone of us in our walk with Him.

Shout or pray silently? Well, this will be dependent on what the Holy Spirit is leading you to deal with per time.

Shalom.

See, I don't know where you presently are in your life, and it seems like it is taking God forever to birth your heart's desire.

You have fasted your stomach sour, sowed seeds till your bank account is reading red. And you have almost began to question your faith.

Yet you probably have watched those who are far from devoted to God get His speedy answers, and now, you're like: Hello Lord, I'm still here; when will you deliver on my project?

But the more you pray, the more sealed your heavens seem to be.

Hear me, please:

God is making out of you a mighty edifice.

When an edifice is being erected, it takes months, or possibly years to get completed -- but when it stands, it can clearly not be ignored.

He has said for your shame you shall have the double. For all the years you have been looked down on. All the years you've bee. laughed at. All the years you've cried your eyes blue. Yes! For all the years you have waited for a change, God knows a bungalow will hardly suffice. And that's why He has promised to restore.
*(Joel 2:25-32)*

Restorations don't come without BONUSES. Else it isn't restoration, but replacement.

Your high rise building will stand for all to see, and you will be celebrated.

It doesn't matter the area it has been delayed. You will jubilate...hallelujah.

Caution! Caution! Please.

So, don't let anything or anyone make you temper down on it, and as surely as the Lord lives, you shall testify.

Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo: It's Wrong To Allow People In Market And Not In Church by janeedema(f): 12:39pm On May 07, 2020
And that's where you are wrong. No pastor owns a church. The Bible is clear on that one: Jesus said I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

So, if your prayer is that there be a falling away of the church, you can be sure that you are fighting Christ.

And you know what Jesus told the overzealous Saul (Paul), He said why do you persecute me?

But on a flip coin, know this: several people are running to the foot of the cross now more than ever. And as sure as day, your prayer will not see fruition.

Oyedepo isn't your problem; the church isn't your problem either. You are your problem.

quote author=TheAfricaQueen post=89260763]Mr Oyedepo, now more than ever, the Nigerian Church has shown it's self to be extremely non-essential. FamilyRe: Time To Divorce My Wife? by janeedema(f): 9:28pm On May 05, 2020
Well said.

In my opinion, you seem to brood over everything. Nagging over things you should overlook.

After 6 years, you are still upset over your birthday that your wife consistently forgets. Haba!

She remembered to buy you a gift afterward, and you snubbed her and her gift, yet you have been praying for her to change. How does your action help?

Some people will never keep birthdays in mind, not because they care less but they aren't fashioned to place value on birthdays.

So, why not remind her about your birthday to ease things up? If the birthday is that important to you.

It often takes two to argue. You said you guys argue over almost every thing.

The question now becomes: why do you indulge her? She is in her natural habitat like you mentioned. You met her so. Which means she enjoys being alone and by herself. You said you liked her and went to marry her, and now you want to change her.

Abeg, you're the one craving for a change, so be ready to put in the work.

Hear me: there's no woman that doesn't have a price. As long as the reason for her coldness isn't another male interest, then you can win your wife.

But will your ego let you? Allow her win every argument she wants to initiate. It doesn't make you less of a man.

You desire peace, then pay the price for it.

Am I applauding her? Nope! But she is just being who she is. She is probably wondering why you have issues with her personality. After all, you met her so, and you can't change anyone. So, influence her and see her do your bid.

All the best!

quote author=bukatyne post=89149605]

You realize that the error is all yours for not choosing well.

For that, you are half way there.

You mentioned that you married in the Church: brother you know that except adultery and I will say abuse, you can't divorce your wife.

You have tried counseling, reporting her to family etc. etc. and it has not worked.

Now, I want you to try changing your reaction to her attitude. You have been married long enough to 'predict' her actions/inactions.

She forgot your birthday, fine. Celebrate yourself. Go out with the kids, go out with your friends etc.

She tries to keep malice, apologize and move on.

I know it is hard, it is abnormal even however you need to build a shield in your heart so that her attitude doesn't get to you anymore.

Don't beg or cajole her to 'change' or 'be better' or whatever: you are telling her that she has power over you.

Thank God finances are not a thing: treat your self, go on vacations, do the certifications or courses you wanted to. Channel your emotions into the things you have always wanted to do, pick up new hobbies, go to gym and workout youf frustrations etc.

And prayers work: if not for her to change, for you to be whole mentally and emotionally.

It is well.[/quote]

Sometimes, we may not really have the full details to issues.

But the story clearly states that the lady had to go cheat to confirm where the problem of their inability to have kids was from, since her hubby refused to go for a sterility check, in spite of several push from her.

He knew he was impotent, but was satisfied with his wife being seen as the barren one, whilst he posed as a man of God that is faithfully supportive of his barren wife.

I can only imagine how the lady had to hide herself in shame and her voice silenced, for her inability to conceive.

And her leaving without looking back also suggests how much she must have gone through. The man didn't touch his wife for months. What kind of relationship did they have? Soured I tell you.

The lady was patient. And the story further explained that she found love in the guy who impregnated her. So, staying back with her hubby wasn't an option any longer.

The dead man was insincere. And it's clear he took his life out of ego that was hurt. The height of selfishness, again.

He pushed the woman to adultery, in my opinion.

She stepped into my room weeping, and I spent over two hours consoling her not to give a thought to it.

"Why should she call me fat, seeing all the efforts I've been making to shed some weight", she resumed crying. "She's sooooo insensitive, I won't ever talk to her again", she concluded.

"Just let it go, I'm sure she didn't mean to offend you", I kept encouraging, "and besides, you know you look really amazing".

After all the talk back and forth, she eventually calmed down.

And so life continued.

Fast forward to a few weeks later.

I stumbled upon her on my way out, and after the usual pleasantries, she looked at me and said:

"Why are you so thin, is it that you don't eat? Try and be eating abeg, can't you see how I look like Mount Zion that can never be moved?". She said this in a very sarcastic way.

I immediately recalled that this was the same person lamenting over someone's remarks on her looks just a few weeks back.

And was about to react, when I heard in my spirit, "Don't".

So, I ignored her and responded by smiling instead. But inside of me, I said,
"Lord you had better answer her on my behalf before I change my mind".

It wasn't up to 10 minutes after, that a very sleek car drove past us.

And she was like "Oh...my gosh.. art thou seeing what I'm seeing? Holy Molly, see the machine the sons of men are driving"

As if the driver of the car heard her, he stopped right in front of us, and a very sleek young man also came out of the ride.

He immediately approached me, and introduced himself as the CEO of a global modeling agency, and would absolutely love to have me in his team; as my physique and height were perfect for a role people were being auditioned for.

I looked at him and smiled; thanked him for the offer and compliment, but explained that my height and physique were booked already for my kitchen-- only.

He also thanked me for being polite, dropped his complimentary card in case I changed my mind, and then drove off.

Deep inside me, I was like, "Lord Jesus, thank you for slapping this friend of mine for me".

Then I looked at her and said: Do you now agree that one man's meat is another's okporoko?

At this, we both burst into laughter.

One would have assumed that the itching ear stops with marriage but far from it, even married couples start smiling sheepishly with discussions that concern them.

God is a relationship God, and He absolutely subscribes to erotic relationships.

He looked at Adam, in the garden and was like..." this guy sure does need a babe to spice up his universe", and sure enough, when Adam saw Eve, he couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear.

You may ask, how do I know? Lol, because Adams's attraction to Eve was so intense, such that immediately he saw her, he wanted to share his very life.

He announced, "This is the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh..."

In fact these days, a pronouncement like that usually takes a longer process. Dating, courting, fasting, prayer, vision, etc. Lol.

So you see, relationship hypes didn't start now

But, did God intend for relationships to go unchecked, abused, and unbalanced?

We are in an age where the world's system has completely taken over the way relationships are run.

The era of leaving the marriage bed undefiled, as stipulated in the Word is gradually phasing out.

In the part of the world where I come from, we discover that the importance would-be couples now place on being pregnant before marriage has now heightened due to the increasing rate of infertility in marriages.

I was watching a TV program some years back, and while the guests were being interviewed on their takes on premarital sex, I was bemused to see that the ladies were the ones actually advocating having sex before marriage in order to ascertain the potency of their would-be spouse.

In fact, one of the guests who is an actress
stated that she wouldn't walk down the aisle with anyone until she has ascertained the 'workability' of her would-be hubby's product. She called it 'sexual compatibility'

Sounds like wisdom, right?

But sadly, after all her advocacy for sex before marriage in order to test sexual compatibility, the lady in question divorced her husband less than two years after she got married.

So, you are forced to ask: wasn't sexual compatibility enough to sustain her marriage?

Our forefathers never based their choices of life partner on sexual compatibility. Yet their marriages stood the test of time. Is it that they didn't have sex drive back then?

What happened to us? That we have now become like dogs on heat. Now, everything has to be aligned with sexual consideration or no show.

Oh...I guess we suddenly grew up and became wiser. No wonder our divorce rates have become alarmingly high.

The manufacturer of the product called 'sex' says it is best used in the confines of marriage, we laugh at the thought of staying chaste before marriage.

After all, He is the Ancient of days and we are the new school.

The marriages of our forefathers weren't rid of divorce because they were Christians. No! Far from it. It was simply because they stayed true to the manufacturer's manual.

So they didn't have the fears that adorns most of our relationships today. Trust issues, sexual compatibility issues, etc.

We can't be smarter than the manufacturer of a thing.

It takes more than sex to have a marriage that thrives.

We have another trending vice of a common-law partner, these ones are not married but are co-habiting and even having children together, they call it 'the baby mama' syndrome.

Once upon a time, it was a shame for someone to cohabit and tell mama about it. But these days parents urge their daughters to get pregnant for a man who isn't married to her.

The truth is, times have changed and isn't it understandably so that God must have adjusted His standards on relationships a bit, at least to suit the many that have to compromise for a lot of obvious reasons?

After all, didn't God say in His Word that in the last days, ten women will take hold of one man and beg him for marriage?

Can God be so insensitive to the fact that we have more ladies than guys, and as such who would marry all the ladies?

There are several bases for the trend we see these days, but do these reasons subscribe to what God admonishes in His Word?

Let's make no mistakes, God's standard is yea and Amen. His very foundation cannot be compromised or flinched.

Jesus is clear: if you love Me, keep my commandments.

True, He gave us these emotions: the sex drive. But not without self-control.

So, if you have an iota of His fear at all, ask Him for grace to rise above the tides.

You can be a Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and an Abednego in this sex depraved and morally impoverished generation!

Oh...sure not by your power. But by His grace, so ask Him for it.

The amount of money spent on dowry or marrying a wife doesn't determine if a lady becomes an asset or not.

In fact, in most cases placing a high cost on bride price only goes to show how impoverished a family is, and how desperate they are to rid off their daughters.

Are ladies meant to be for sale through outrageous dowries and incredulous wedding demands by the bride's family? I don't think so.

If you think starting and sustaining a church is beans...please get started with it already.

If you think people go to Shiloh just in search of miracles, then it's clear you are misinformed.

come all ye sinners, our slay Queens would be present, Yahoo boys present.

Seriously I don't know what's wrong with Africans and their search for miracles from so called men of God. They tend to forget that faith is enough to make u ask even in the privacy of ur room and God would listen to ur plea and cry for help.

That's why the church business is blooming in Nigeria, I'm also thinking of investing in it.
