You can ACN anything but not Cowards. ACN needs Bisi Akande's continuity at this time. The guy get mouth, and together with Joe Igbokwe & lai Mohammed, they have performed creditably well in the war of mouth against PDP. |
Lagosboy, you are the new Alhaji Olabowale of Nairaland. Jazakumullahu khaeran. |
Results will be out Dec 29 insha Allah |
My sincere apologies to members that reported comments/threads tonight for which I have not been able to act on. My apologies to those who can't stand the activities of these tribal warlords who have launched attack on this section in the last couple of days. I'm currently posting from phone, so can't exercise my Mod powers of locking and deleting the offenders.I'll act on your reports and insultive threads/comments tomorrow morning by God's grace. Thanks for your concern in making this forum a better place. Once again, I'm granting amnesty to the tribal warlords to sheathe their sword. It doesn't profit anyone. But if this path of honour is rejected again, then the path of ban and other means become inevitable. |
okito:This analysis is sickening! How dare anyone compare Gyan with Eto'o in 2010? A single goal from open field, two converted penalties, and a penalty loss that denied Africa history, 11 or 12 goals in backwater Ligue 1 and paltry five or six goals in EPL and someone is celebrating Gyan. See Eto'o: 2009/2010 season, 16 goals; current season, 19 goals already, season yet to reach half; reigning highest goal scorer in both UCL and Serie A; won UCL and League title with Inter; even with his disappointing show in ANC & WC 2010, he still scored 2 goals each, just one behind Gyan's 3. Even Drogba should have come 2nd ahead of Gyan. |
Well deserved. He should have been winning it every year since 2003, if not for injury. |
This run-up to PDP presidential primaries is providing comic relief for me everyday. Does anyone see their campaigns against each other in papers on daily basis? Those adverts crack me up. Did anyone see that advert by Atiku team showing a caricature of GEJ on Obj's back, being fed feeder(abi na fooder dem dey that thing), with the caption 'Baba I am not experienced', 'No, you're experienced'? ![]() What of that one by Atiku team again showing GEJ's campaign as 'mere songs and merriment' while Atiku's is packed with ideas. Now, it's war of polls. These people na comedians ![]() |
praise101:Look, OAU reject, I never said there is anything wrong in tribal supremacism, which Bola Ige did. Bola Ige believed Yoruba was the best tribe. There is absolutely nothing wrong in promoting one's tribe, it's part of being proud of one's origin. But will BI descend to the level you guys do here? Capital No. Bola Ige will not look at every issue from ethnic lens as you guys thrive on here. Every sane topic is being turned into tribal bashing by guys. You need to grow, guys. |
Honestly, I shake my head for my generation. How will someone literate enough to access computer descend so low as to parading him/herself as tribal champions at this age? What does it profit anyone to go about public forum engaging in pettiness of such level? Even under anonymity, don't people think about their dignity? Even if this is a public and anonymous forum, don't some people care about what people think of them? What niche they carve for themselves? I wonder what level of reasoning could inspire such debasing behaviour. It's serious. |

Political Implication of this picture: 1, Gains sympathy from deeply religious Southerners, and will be a bumper electoral advantage for him. This will add to his humility and divinity credential. 2, Gains further hatred and electoral disadvantage from the Muslim masses of the North, especially the illiterate ones(and they are in millions). All an opponent needs is discreetly circulate the pic across these highly religious-sensitive masses, and in Hausa language, attach a short message. It will take years to erase the message from their mind 3, The 'liberals' will criticize this. They will talk and shout. They will call it presidential subservience etc. It may reduce his estimation in their reckoning but will not affect their political choices. |

On Nairaland here, we have Muslim converts like Babs787, LeoChinedu, Ifyalways and others I can't remember. They all have stories to tell. So I'm not moved, personally. |

This part was funny to me: At 4.47pm, President Jonathan also arrived and joined the meeting. Sources told Daily Trust that the meeting became very hot at that point, with President Jonathan close to tears as he begged the PDP governors not to allow his main challenger, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to humiliate him in the PDP primaries. He said Atiku had severally promised to defeat him in the primaries and he accused the governors of abetting it with their intransigence. |
No be your computer o, my sister. All awards threads have been moved to 'NAIRALAND' section as a matter of rule. |
When did you do your Masters? Where? |
I was sure she meant 'Hausa/Fulani' or core North too. I only pretended because she used 'Northern'. |
Happy Birthday sir. |
