There are two types you will find out there. The one from the male cow is usually the soft one cos male cows are usually not reared for long they're easily replaced.

I have a different opinion. Why not call the husband and have a one on one with him if he deems it OK to meet you. Then in all sincerity speak to him as to why you want to help, state this clearly and assure him you're not going to be in the picture in her life in anyway.
We know wives tend to show higher 'respect' to another man who's more disposed than her husband, therefore will consciously or unconsciously want to show appreciation which usually almost always leads to unnecessary attention towards to giver...
Don't involve the wife in the discussion after all she already knows. Give the cash to the man and vamoose from all their lives.
Whatever happens after that should not be concern you again...
Never accept and thanks beyond the first one especially from the woman.

From her point of view, you haven't taken to her own advice - that you should stop bugging her. Some people are very sensitive to criticism especially when they think it's not necessary. I happen to be one of such people so I'm taking your wife's side. Some people just need to learn to shut up and accept others without judging.

Before you get married, open both eyes and once you get married close one. Before you get married, learn about your wife's faults and if you can't tolerate those faults don't marry her! Once you're married, be tolerant!
