Juliearth: Having good neighbours is like finding a good wife. Alot of people may not understand this point of view until they have had a taste of it. Do not renew your rent oh. These species of neighbours (I think I have an idea of their tribe) would never help you even if see you dying. Yet, they are the first people to exit the compound to church on Sunday. They act nice only to their fellow statesman. Others are treated as outcast.
I know someone who suffered a bone injury at night. That person was in distress and wailing in the dead of the night. Certainly the neighbours must have heard this person wail, but nobody came to inquire or help. This person had to lay helpless in the bathroom with a broken bone from past midnight until past 4 A.M before help from another compound came
shortgun: Tragically we lost a close friend to the cold hands of death who passed away in a ghastly motor accident.
He was in his late thirties to early forties, unmarried, no child, and a Christian from the North west.
In solidarity, we his friends, proposed to hold a formal wake keep for him at his Abuja residence and promptly began the preparation process. This included securing the services of a DJ and arranging refreshments for the gathering.
Certain members of his family objected to the idea of the wake keep, contending that it was inappropriate for us to engage in partying and funfair following the untimely passing of their loved one. They insisted we limit the gathering to just a public address system and a choir to sing, nothing more.
Some of our friends are threatening to hands-off and withdraw their involvement from everything about the funeral including not attending the burial and allow the family members do whatever that pleases them. Others are of the opinion that we should ignore the family members and go ahead with our plans since we are going to be paying respect to our late friend and not members of his family.
What do you guys think?
Ecclesiastes 7:1-6 (KJV) A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth. It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
I've left this passage of the bible for you to read and meditate.
I thought electricity was to have been properly developed during the OBJ tenure, but because someone had the license to import generators nationwide that aspect of development was left unattended to! Let's not call names now.
DeltaBachelor: lol. Good one. I don't wanna sound tribalistic but in Nigeria, there is always one particular thing peculiar with each and every tribe ( Good or Bad )
DeltaBachelor: I swear babe. I can't wait for my rent to be due so that I leave this wicked environment. The energy and vibes is very negative. The funny thing is they all claim to be " christain" and church-goers. I won't belittle any tribe or religion but I stayed a bit in the North and there are things an hausa man wouldn't do. They are their neighbour's keeper. Over here, it is just unhealthy competition and unnecessary rivalry
Pointing to where I had in mind... while in Nigeria I tasted all major tribes and I know which ones have the characters you mentioned!
thesicilian: A very preventable death Passengers should learn to be vigilant while travelling. If you see your driver dozing off, rebuke him or engage him in a light conversation to keep him awake. We should learn to observe our surroundings more instead of being glued to our phones 24/7.
As a driver myself, I can't just sit without observing the driving style and technique when someone else is behind the wheel! Years ago it saved my life and 10 others! I had to use my "military" voice to keep the driver sane and safely arrive destination!
imustsaymymindo: This is true. Any sensible man would see the opportunity in the restart and freedom.
But trust many men to make the same mistakes again and get into the same loop even after bouncing back.
Sincerely! In all honesty even in "happy" marriages there's a lot of trauma, but because BOTH couple are will to work on the positives then they can stay together....it's not easy!
pansophist: Someone sent me a channel to watch. It was a channel of matchmaking in Lagos. The rule of the show is simple. So a group of single men will line themselves up, each holding a balloon.
Then a single girl will walk in. The guys that do not find her a good romantic match will burst their balloon, while the guys that didn't burst it will determine if she is also interested in him. This is the link to the video. You can also check the channels for numerous videos of this kind.
The matchmaking is sad to so many extent. If this show represents matching in Nigeria, then it only goes to show how low our value system has fallen. Few things you will observe when you watch the show.
1. They judge themselves in a few seconds extremely negatively when a lady/guy walks in, even without speaking to each other. Reasons for rejections are a combination of vain things like height, skinny, appearance, shoes, clothing style, and vibes (what does that mean?).
2. None of them have a reasonable job. Almost all of them are influencers, content creators, entrepreneurs, social media marketers, cream sellers, business analysts, etc.
3. Character was never a reason for rejection. As I said earlier, rejection started even before they spoke to each other. They rejected the other base on their own prejudice. Participants were rejected because they wore slippers, didn't dress to their taste, etc.
I mean, a person that wears slippers today can wear shoes tomorrow, slippers are not permanent. How can that be a basis for rejection? One guy was rejected because he has gigolo vibes. Lmao
4. The participant didn't even consider personal virtue and character as the basic eligibility to have as an individual, and their potential match. Insults were just flying everywhere. You hear things like small deek, you look broke, you can't afford me, I am not your level, I earn six figures, etc.
There was one girl that rejected all the guys because they don't have big gbola. And she was asked how can she see their gbola? her answer was that it's visible from the trousers. Jesus Christ. (skip to 7.20)
5. They all have violence in hibernation, waiting to be unleashed on the other. I mean, you can reject someone without insulting them. Insulting them only speaks low of you. These participants even didn't care they are on camera.
Dirty insult just flying everywhere after rejection. It's so disgusting. I had to skip some parts because the insult was so raw and dirty. You hear things like you have three-inch deek, you are so dirty. You don't have a big yansh.
I have watched many episodes of the show, with hundreds of participants, and the theme is all the same. Low-class insults, judging and rejecting before talking, thinking what makes them a catch is the price of their outfits, their levels, high standards (which they confuse with high taste), and Instagram followers.
Naija.
Sincerely, the level of depravity is alarming! The hype for vanity is everything and evident! Gutter mouths spewing very bad English and dirty insults! Of course it springs from the mind, which means deep inside those looking for relationship already have the violence inherent! How then can a home be groomed when it's obvious they're not groomed from their homes! It's shocking!
pansophist: Smart man. You're looking at the bigger picture. That's awesome.
I wonder why women with kids thinks that there are high value men lining up to wife her up after divorce. Also, men ain't stupid.
They saw what you did to the previous, and know that it's only a matter of time, you'll repeat the same. At best, she will be a public fork material, that's all.
But I guess that's enough for ladies that does this. Reckless sex, a bad home, kids who grew up without their father, and her karma is in the future because no matter the lies she inject into the kids, they will grow up to think for themselves and see her for the demons that she is.
I just think the joke is on the women. You take her abroad, she begins to give you attitude, you charge up and prep for the showdown knowing full well she's going to throw you out. You lose kids and fortune, but not your spirit, pick up the pieces and move on.... Guess what? Now she's in money! She has your kids, plus child support! BUT, ONE THING! She loses dignity and now men will only use her to pass time, she's definitely going to seek gratification that's where her mental torture will start...she becomes a field mattress, no permanent boyfriend, her children see her being used and dumped, she can only try to explain but not for all time, chores will double, she's alone caring for the children, school runs, emotional support, work, and all... Her friends and advisers no longer have the solution to her crisis! The children will surely want their dad someday, no matter how long it takes and how much poison she's injected into their minds!
Poor rejected man will start afresh, seeking gratification isn't going to be a big deal, less physical trauma of house chores, nagging and children issues to deal with, just get another job and run yourself a little, few years hence results will begin to manifest.... Unless you bury yourself in self pity and unnecessary depression....or...
Unless you were deliberately wicked to her then karma will visit you...
She was a very transparent girl. My only relationship ever, lasted for close to 4 years.
I wish my next will be as transparent as her.
Lastly, how can I get over her?
Quickly get some nice clay from any river of your choice, mould any feminine figure that fits your ex, write all characters she had and exempt the demanding aspect... you're good to go!
brain54: And here I was thinking it takes 9 months...
For a pregnant woman to give birth!
Yes, definitely she was pregnant before she lost her baby. My pain is seeing helpless people helplessly placing themselves in hopeless situations!! Back to back o!
Clicked: Person lose pikin, you go dey find husband. Did she tell you her husband was missing? 🙄
Not judging here but let's know why hubby isn't mentioned at all... remember he's supposed to be the guardian of the house. Pikin come loss, never reach 6 months she born, she no dey feel for herself?
worksmart: Peter Obi is not my choice for president although I cannot imagine he can perform any worse than the unfolding disaster that is Bola Tinubu. I can never support Obi because he performed poorly when he was governor for 8 years in Anambra. We should be looking to make current Minister of Works Sen. Engr. Nweze D. Umahi the new president.
I support you on this. Umahi for president! Tough as nails!
phosky: I brought down dollar with my power, Abido Shaker” – Odumeje
Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, proudly claims to be the only pastor to use one of his abilities, Abido Shaker, to bring down the dollar.
In addressing the congregation at his church during a ministerial service, the clergyman mentioned this. Eyes Of Lagos reports, odumeje powers abido shaker dollar Odumeje.
He mentioned that he had vowed to use his power, Abido shaker to bring down the dollar which was fast gaining value over the naira.
Odumeje noted that he was true to his word, and has since used one of his many powers, Abido Shaker, to bring down the dollar.
