My experience was rather like yours, OP.
Was on a job far from where I live. My hosts younger sister looked at me and began to invite me to visit her at her own place. Hard as she tried, I never succumbed to her tempting moves. I swore never to invite her again.

I got to hear she had a fiance based in Cameroon and that made it better for me to stay away from her.

I have seen this happen. Somebody close to me tried to woo the lady and after much rejection proposed marriage she agreed, they had the trado, she took in he gave her pills unknown to her which made her lose the baby and then he told her why he married her, then took off!

He narrated the story to me HIMSELF!!
I quietly subtly put a gap between us since then ....
