DeeBoiyy:Yes, it will make him a better president. Any president that adheres to the rule of law will be a better president. The laws of Nigeria do not provide for the "office of the first lady". operating an illegal office of the first lady and appropriating public money for its running, directly or indirectly, is unlawful and unbecoming of a president. it makes that president lawless and bad president. e.g. president Jonathan. because president Jonathan is comfortable or even oblivious of the dangers of flagrantly flouting the laws of Nigeria, especially the provisions of the constitution, makes him a clueless and bad president setting bad precedents for his countrymen and women. When Buhari becomes president and cancels the illegal office of first lady, it will be the first step towards cancelling the numerous illegal structures that pdp has built for self-aggrandizement, ego massage, corruption and worse of all waste of the scarce national resources meant for actual human development. it will certainly make him a better president. |
lalasticlala:HAS ANYONE EVER SAID THAT PRISONERS HAVE NO RIGHT TO VOTE AND BE VOTED FOR IN NIGERIA? CAN ANYONE REMEMBER THAT SENATOR IYIOLA OMOSORE WAS ELECTED TO SENATE WHILE IN PRISON? THIS IS JUST A CASE TO ADVERTIZE SOME PEOPLE IN A MEDIA SENSATIONAL MASTURBATION. |
emiraty:unfortunately you are wrong here. a candidate is not presented because he/she is the best; but because he/she scored the highest votes at the primary elections. political parties always have credible and quality members to occupy any and all political positions in the land. so don't attempt to misinform our gullible and simple readers here. |
Gagame:I think the weakness of Nigerians in using the correct and exact words for the right people, occasions, situations, events and happenings portray them as foolish and timid and docile and indecisive people that should be taken for a ride for as long as it takes the successive clueless and completely useless people in power. have you ever hear the phrase or idiom "call the spade the spade"? calling a clueless and blind leader with the correct description is not only necessary but needful to make him/her realise that he/she is only fooling themselves, and not the helpless people they are cheating, left right and center. |

menesheh:I think PDP should check this guy, abati. If he is speaking for GEJ, then it is suspicious; its like they (GEJ and abati) are indirectly campaigning for the election of GMB. Factually, all this stuff on socalled wikileaks (actually, abatileaks) is to the credit of GMB. That is all we are crying for. we need a leader that is decisive; that will protect our territorial integrity and ensure security; that will be considerate to the plight of ordinary Nigerians; that will reward corrupt people with the punishment they deserve instead of the current situation where corruption is always rewarded with plum state appointments, contracts and national honours. THIS IS THE CHANGE WE DESERVE. |
mikeansy:If for GMB, there is little evidence to prove that he has what it takes to fix the country; What about GEJ ? THERE IS EVERY EVIDENCE PROVE THAT HE DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO FIX THE COUNTRY. Indeed there is every evidence to prove that he has what it takes to accelerate and complete the destruction of the country. NIGERIANS! it is left for you to choose between the two, as we have narrowed ourselves to the duo, irrespective of other parties. |
donemperor:Certainly! Non could be worse than GEJ, unfortunately. |
shakazuldadon:www.nairaland.com/attachments/1935826_img22939715106190_jpeg_jpeg2249b3efabd78ba1bd5ebffeca59b2f6 I am a Christian and live amongst moslems almost all my life. The implementation of sharia should not be an issue for Christians; leave it to moslems. The bible says in Mathew 8:22 "But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead". The only plausible grounds for grouse in sharia implementation are 1. The use of public funds (meant for all citizens) to promote a particular religion - Islam (which in any way, has always been the case since the pre-colonial era) 2. The potential of abuse of the system, as we can see in some cases where non-moslems are unjustly subjected to the sharia judgements against their wishes, and molested. Otherwise, non moslems, in reality, have nothing to fear in the implementation of sharia. I will prefer that Christians preoccupy themselves with being faithful to their calling and being Christ-like, instead of the current church-going and sloganeering. |

CityNG:While not holding brief for @OP, he is discussing the MEANING and NOT ORIGIN of the logos. |
AlienSPY:OK. you mean PDP is now Wike's personal property ? |
foxxynik: LOLLLL..... I've never seen a governor as dull as Imoke.... He's the sexiest governor among them all.... But is he really a governor of beauty contest? Coz ever since Donald Duke left that office, CRS has deteriorated..Well, not in my own estimation; I've been to Calabar and some towns in the state on a few occasions and the state capital has not deteriorated, if anything, there is actual improvement in road network infrastructure. |
ilugunboy: I am not too sure if my explanation is correct....but it may be as for the reason why you didn't see much of LASTMA activities around that area.I am inclined to believe this story. I saw something like that around the Lagos Tollgate (weighbridge) opposite FRSC office. hungry jobless desperate gullible youth (can you blame them? EMPHATICALLY YES - for abdicating their destiny in the hands of shameless vampires) wearing black vests with inscription ...Federal Task Force... i was wondering what that ever mean. Just to checkmate LASTMA and probably use them for campaign; but i can't imagine them doing any election duty! it just does not make sense!! I pity nigeria and nigerians. |
Udoabasi: I have tried on my own to find out whether there is any bible portion that supports the expression, "God helps those who help themselves". What I've discovered however is that the bible seems to teach the opposite. Jesus Christ did not come for those who can help themselve but for those who are helpless. That is why the bible teaches total dependence on, and acceptance of the will of God. Suprisingly, many christians, even the clergy, use this expression as if it was spoken by Christ himself. Others use it to justify themselves when they go contrary to the tenets of christianity. It is for this reason that I want to know, perhaps, there may be a verse in the bible that such expression could be found. Anyone who knows of such should please post it. Thanks.Linguistically speaking what does it mean "God helps those who help themselves" ?. If you can help yourself why do you need God any more. What value is God adding to you? As a christian, that saying is paradoxical and adds nothing to my faith. Firstly I became a Christian because I realized I cannot help myself, hence I need a God's help. That is the Bible says "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" Mathew 11:28 And may I add here that just as you cannot help yourself, you cannot help God. |
ochilikoko: how do you mean? It was stated vividly that Nigeria Government have submitted all th necessary documents and receipts to prove the legitimacy of the deal. I wonder y some persons wants to take this issue personalYOU ARE A CHEAP MISCHIEVOUS FOOL AND DISGRACE TO SANITY AND LOGIC. EVER HEARD THAT IF THE PERSON TALKING IS A FOOL, THE HEARER IS NOT NECESSARILY A FOOL? |
lionduke: all na wash, all these hype because he is obasanjo. so many gallant soldiers have lost there life's in active service without mention. may God bring succour to the families of fallen soldiers and they rest in bosom of the Almighty. Not Quite correct! This is the highest ranking officer to be shot by bh. his death would have been a bigger blow to the NA spirit; and a boos to the bh fighters. it is news because of the position of the officer. he was leading the battalion. shooting him dead would mean the whole battalion is defeated. this is real big news. that does not mean his life is larger or bigger or more important or more precious than the thousands that have died in this irrational blood letting. |
otubujohn: Lmao@otubujohn I think sluvy4tune is only trying to help gullible and vulnerable nairalanders (and probably others) on one hand and you and your reputation on the other hand. you can not say 'leave me alone' on this matter because if you wanted to be alone you would not bring it up in nl, and you wont invite others to join you. what sluvy4tune is doing is not killing his/herself over another person's life. it is called DUE DILIGENCE. One very vital step in business relationships often overlooked by many uninitiated investors and business rookies leading to avoidable mistakes, business failures (or outright scams) and regrets. The purpose is for you to prove yourself as a true and reliable businessman whose integrity is intact, and your targeted partners will have confidence joining and working with you to your aspired level. I will advise that you also do same to your business partners (current and future) to minimize your risks of failure and boost your confidence level on them, if you are not already doing that, as your previous posts suggest. In any business proposal, especially in Nigeria, no amount of work done to reduce the risk of being scammed is too much. I very much appreciate sluvy4tune for his effort in this regard. Finally we must appreciate that Nigeria is in this terrible quagmire in all fronts because we never any form of due diligence before choosing leaders at any level of our society; community, religious, business and worse of all politically. As long as doing important this blindly (without due diligence) persists, then there is no hope for Nigeria. |

estherdennis: GEJ is not sleeping but if he really act the way we want it, then too many innocent souls will die as we already know that this devils are miss with normal humans so he need to tRead with care .Please re-read your post and define yourself. Rikidony: WHEN WILL U EVER SPEAK GOOD ABOUT THE NA...... When there is something good to speak |
Rikidony: The Nigerian military yesterday, August 28, carried out is this cheap propaganda because the Cameroonian Army made a release on their encounter with Boko Haram militants http://thenationonlineng.net/new/cameroon-bombs-boko-haram-camp/ ? This is contradictory with what is on ground this afternoon, less than ten hours ago. http://www.naij.com/282407-boko-haram-take-catholic-church-house.html . its unfortunate the war is lingering, deadly and devastating but difficult to win because we have a dubious administration in which the politics have been militarized and the military politicized. |
GenBuhari: STOP THE PANICAT THIS POINT PERMIT ME TO SAY YOU ARE ALMOST A LOST CASE |
Donmarrius: Congratulations!!! larryUG: but lagos doesnt own d oil nah? have u fgtn the oil belongs to the nation not the state? and that the FG(pdp) will gv lagos derivatives from the oil. they(pdp) may even redraw the boundaries(just like they did in rivers and crosriver giving ogoni oil to bayelsa). so Dear, pdp or no pdp, the only way apc can control dt money is if they r at the centre(FG), odawise they ccan only take wt the allocation committe gvs to them, of which the allocation may be suspended(obj did it to tinubu, though lagos will still survive without the oil)Its very unfortunate for many Nigerians, they don't understand the meaning of oil producing state. Fields like Aje and Ogo where oil is discovered in commercial quantity offshore Lagos are in deep offshore in waters greater than 1000 meters depth. These are outside the state waters. The state will only be entitled to oil/gas derivation revenue only when the producing field is within the 200m water depth level. Every thing after that is considered outside the state, and so wholly belong to the federal government. Lagosians may have to wait a bit longer to start jubilation over any oil derivation monies. |
RIP Madam; Its well with your soul. |
