Men have been subdued so much lately that they sometimes forget their own rights and privileges. Do I blame that man for not speaking up or fighting back? No, I blame the system, the courts, the governments, the institutions that enable injustice and finally some ladies that have put on the cloth of wickedness. Saint Obi died because he couldn't see or be with his children and it was the "lovely" wife he married who made sure of that. |
It's because they are stating the reality which is obviously affecting your understanding of obodo oyibo. Many people in Naija today believe that traveling abroad will solve their financial problems overnight and when those who were once in those shoes and have now seen it all try to correct that notion, they fail to see the big picture and hold on to your own age long conclusions. This is why a lot of our people are trapped in several countries especially in Europe because they failed to have a closer look of where and most importantly, why they are traveling abroad. I'm not saying someone may not be intentionally discouraging you from traveling abroad but there is sense in every nonsense, focus on the sense. |
This is balderdash. Wives have responsibilities too and work twice as hard. The stress in walking around all day at home in PJs, shouting at the kids, bending down to load clothes in washing machines, the stress in sitting on high chairs cooking for long minutes and finally the psychological stress in choosing between watching food channels and Zeeworld is something a man can't handle without breaking down. Too much responsibilities for the ladies and it's not fair. |
Some people dress to feel good about themselves and some others dress to make an impression. I'm of the opinion that the said lady dresses to make an impression and the message is clear. I hate to admit it but I support the pastor on this one. |
Many girlfriends and sidechicks are better than some wives today. Na women wey need upgrade dey mostly be good. Once they get upgraded, they begin dey worry person. A sidechick will not give much troubles especially if you are a good husband to your wife and a good father to your children. She will even be making sure you continue being a good family man. ![]() |
Pick up your phone and call the school directly. They are in North Carolina meaning they are 5hours behind you so check your time before calling. Don't call the number they provided in the email, call the school's customer service at +1 (704)-233-8000 or send email to Darin Hinson at d.hinson@wingate.edu and inquire if the admission is legit before making any payment. Shalom. |
Younger ones may have some advantages but no time is late for traveling and excelling in careers abroad if one is focused and disciplined. Africans get nursing, medical, chiropractor, CPA, Realtor, Legal and commercial driving licenses including ordinary fork lift licenses to work in Lowe's at 50+ and still have successful careers. As for age limits in jobs, I haven't seen that in many countries I've been to and I've been to quite a handful if measured that way. I know a Nigerian man that recently got a federal entry job in one of the exciting Departments in the States and he migrated not too long ago at 50+. Not hearsay because I was contacted as his referee during a background check. He barely landed with greencard visa filed by his older brother and insisted on getting a government job because he retired early from a ministry in Nigeria. Another Nigerian widow migrated at 50+ via same family visa filed by her daughter and today, she is married to a Cuban widower she met at DMV and today, lives happily with him in Arizona state. Not saying marriage is a successful career but at that age and being widow for a long time, it is an achievement for her. Change in culture will be an inconvenience for sure but only for awhile. No time is late in a country of opportunities, no one except those who plan to go pluck money in trees should be discouraged from traveling at any age. |
I don't believe in certain superstitions but if I were you, I would listen carefully to the "voice" and hear everything it says if actually it exists. Try late workouts also and bath with warm water before bed. It will make you sleep deep and sound. Your nightmares and the "voice" can as well be figment of your imagination born out of stress and lack of quality sleep. Lastly, you may need to see a doctor. It could be that you have mental illness that is gradually developing. |
Ahmed0336:Agreement? Lawyer kwa, just to renovate a family house? There's nothing I won't read in this place. |
EnEnPeecee:For some people, it's not easy to move on especially when kids are involved. I see a lot of myself in the late actor. I can easily move on from a toxic woman but I will find it very hard not to live together with my kids. The thought alone could hurt me. In his shoes, I'd also be highly depressed and might not survive it too which is why I never hurry people to get married. I'll rather you don't have kids for me than have me separated from them. A wrong move can change everything just like it has changed for Saint Obi. RIP to his soul. |
What is it about Nigerian horsebands and male children bikonu? I'm not a sexist but I adore female kids more and if left to choose alone, I'll be very contented with just one daughter. Your hubby and his people may have their reasons but they are wrong in the way they are going about it. Biko don't worry yourself, be happy and don't let anyone distract you from showing those little angels of yours the love and care they need to grow into disciplined adults. |
It's not as bad as it sounds in nairaland but still be careful. I'm currently in my home state Anambra and will be here for a few more days. I can say it's relatively peaceful except for border towns. First thing I've noticed is that state and non state folks are taking advantage of ipob uprising to commit crimes, settle scores and take vendetta actions for business and political deals gone wrong just like in the times of bakassi boys. Be safe by blending in and limiting your outreach as soon as you land. |
This one too believe say he don ready to marry. Okay naa😄 |
Biko is she single? I love food so much and a lady that can cook all this food, I am in love with her already. |
Let love lead no be for marriage because just like a seed, it can germinate and still die. Demand more than love, more than fear of god and more than good character especially if vouched by someone other than yourself. Accept you have faults, we all do and make sure she accepts hers and takes responsibility for her actions. If she finds it hard to say sorry, please and thank you, abort mission now to avoid had I known. The most important advise is marry someone with self discipline, someone who has some integrity to protect especially family integrity. She will hardly let her herself or her family down if they have good integrity. If she can't give you peace in courtship, ain't no way she is gonna give you that in marriage. Take note. Overly religious lady is a no no for me but I can't say for you or anyone else. So this one is your call. I will give you one controversial advice that you may seem uncomfortable with and it goes this way...Marry someone who can look you in the face and tell you no, with no insults though. If she can boldly say no to you, she can say it to anyone and that's the kind of woman you need on your side. Shalom. |
Why didn't awa buroda Israel Hakim his girlfriend? Chai. |
What she said is absolutely true. If she arrives the States as married lady, she will need to divorce you in absentia before marrying someone for papers and that can be a very complicated process. Allow that lady to pursue her future because it seems she is more focused than you are. You see only today but she sees tomorrow. She can still divorce whoever she marries for the paper and come back to marry you so oga, rest naa biko.🙂 |
ibkayee:What boundaries? You sound as if we are talking about some strangers here. The boy is his son but he is their grandson too, don't forget that. Did they request for the boy's name to be changed in his birth certificate? No, so what's the fuss about? |
I don't really see an issue in this. Grandparents always have preferred names for their grandkids and oftentimes, the names are born out of their belief in reincarnation. My grandma called me Obim until she died because she believed I was reincarnation of her late husband and she practically begged my dad to name me after the man which is why my Igbo name is Obi×××. Your inlaws mean no harm, please let it go. |
Beebah321:Your comment is hilarious.😄 The hunculu should just lick his wounds and move on. LDL is not always favorable but only a few understands that while the rest of us are taught by experience. I bet they were into lots of video calls and hanty would be lying on bed using bedsheet to cover her pregnancy. Wetin heavens go judge for this world eeh. 😄 |
Good boy, exciting career and great benefits as long as he follows the career path or is honorably discharged. They will probably take care of his school fees up to PhD level if he is interested in education. After service, straight to one of Homeland security agencies for a good retirement package. Wise guy, kudos to him.😎 |
Kids full this place.😄 Ps3 that they released in late 2000s possibly around 2008 when I don already finish university, na im you dey talk about like say you dey talk about 80s and 90s. For some of us, na games like super mario we knew in our early days. |
When you travel, stay over at a family member's or at a trusted friend's. If you must stay in a hotel, spend a reasonable amount so as not to compromise your comfort and most importantly, your safety. I don't like staying in hotels in Naija but if and whenever I've had to, it would be a comfortable and possibly an international hotel like Protea. I'll rather spend more for my safety than spend 30k in a hotel where my safety could be compromised. Just see it this way. If your body organs can go for millions in the black market, why not spend a little extra to safeguard them. |
Beremx:Stoppeet please.😄 |
Blackdeewhy:No, it's called business and they didn't force her to take the loan. Most of these borrowers damn well know they can't afford to pay back on time but still go ahead with the borrowing hoping on "miracle". Ain't that stupid? The loan companies have office space to pay for, staff to pay salary and also interests to pay whomever they got deposits from. I'm not even talking about profit sef abi no be business dem dey run? This is a chain-like business but some people are quick to blame the loan companies not realizing that they too are in desperate situations. If you are not into quick and high turnover business, avoid them. It's that simple. |
The way they spelt "chronic" debtor off me. I come dey doubt my knowlege of Ingirish languej.😄 |
It's been barely three weeks so allow yourself some more time to mourn. Nothing should stop or distract you from mourning or else you'll find it hard to move on. Sorry for your loss and even as you mourn, be strong. |
Thanks goodness. McDonald's, here I come.😄 |
Please don't because of the hardship in Naija, relocate to China hoping to earn a living. There's a reason China is for the Chinese only. Shalom. |
