PoliticsRe: Arrest Northern Leaders Now Or We Attack Hausas-militants by Jenifa1: 3:58am On Apr 29, 2011
Nigeria is a comedy case.

In a civilized world, the MEND militants will be rounded up and arrested ASAP for making violent threats.
that is how you stop violence before it starts for christ sake! undecided

how do we expect GEJ to arrest sly northern millitants when he can't arrest the ones that are making their plans known.

CAN PDP president should go and sit down abeg. what a big fool
because he's a pastor we should start worshiping him? why don't he run for presidency so he can arrest buhari himself?
IslamRe: No Matter The Politics: Christrians And Muslims Will Never Live In Unity by Jenifa1: 6:06am On Apr 27, 2011
the yoruba christians and muslims live in unity. so I don't see your point.
besides, even if islam were non-existent in Nigeria, you will have roman catholics fighting pentecostals etc.

people tend to unite against a common enemy. and when the common enemy disappears, they turn against each other.
so yea, there will always be disunity somewhere. it if's not between christians and muslims, it will be between sunni and shia or between redeemers and winners etc.

so in the end, it's not just about religion. it's a lot more complicated than that

all the quote you posted up there is meaningless. somebody else could open another thread and quote tons and tons of passages where the koran share similarities with the bible.
everything is open to interpretation my friend.
PoliticsRe: Eko Ile, Lagos Is A Benin Town Not Yoruba by Jenifa1: 7:36pm On Apr 25, 2011
Komando what exactly is your point? I don't get the point of this topic at all.

are you trying to teach us a history lesson or there are other motives behind your topic.
lagos might have been a benin town in 1200s (lol) but that really doesn't matter today because it is in yorubaland now. so what's your point.
PoliticsRe: Who To Blame For Post Election Violence? by Jenifa1: 7:30pm On Apr 25, 2011
The only long term solution to this problem is to arrest those who incite these violence, try them in courts and send them to jail but more importantly to campaign for wide condemnation of the act.
GEJ is not doing any of this!! no one is doing investigation to find who is inciting the violence. all the killers are escaping without being caught. where is the police?
besides, it's also the government's job to make sure that they get to the root of the organized violence and snip it at the bud. why wait for the violence to occur before acting if you should be trying to PREVENT violence from occurring? what is the government doing to prevent the violence?
PoliticsRe: Who To Blame For Post Election Violence? by Jenifa1: 7:26pm On Apr 25, 2011
mikeansy:
This current violence has nothing to do with armed robbery. This is a systematic attack on people who are percieved to not be supporters of CPC.

You can not blame the President for such Babarism and cowardly behaviour. What I expect going forward is for the President to deal decisively with the perpatrators of such shameful evil.

And all of you should be ashamed of yourselves for excusing such evil.
i'm glad you recognize the need for GEJ to do something about it.

and what do you think is the source of riots before CPC?
as far as i'm concerned riots has been going on for many years now and the government isn't doing anything about it. Boko Haram still exists as well and the government is too weak to stop it. so what's your point?

maybe we should kill Buhari and all CPC members and instal a one party system. PDP for life. hehn?

I think you should be ashamed of yourself for excusing our inefficient government. if our govt is absolutely incapable of dealing with domestic issues how can we intervene in outside issues.

So when kidnappers went on rampage in Aba, Who should be held responsible? You and I? When MEND goes on their violence rampage who should be held responsible you and I? When there are no electricity, good roads etc who should be held responsible? You and I.
lol. don't mind him.

I wonder why people keep coming up with this nonsense. How can Lagos be a benin place? Very ridiculous. From your logic,  Africa must be british and you are a non indigene as a result. Please stop displaying your stupidity. not-so-smart person.
lol. don't mind him. even cotonou is a benin place. isn't it    cheesy

I really don't know why some people live in 2011 and are still reminiscing the 1700s.
PoliticsRe: Eko Ile, Lagos Is A Benin Town Not Yoruba by Jenifa1: 7:12pm On Apr 25, 2011
komando77:
@ Ekt_bear,
My point exactly. The Lagosians of today contain remnants of the Benin warriors of old, and many see themselves as Awori, and not Yoruba.
@ seanet 03, point of corection, Lagos has never been a FCT. It has always been a state. Past governors include Buba Marwa, Lateef Jakande, etc. Abuja on the other hand has always been an FCT, and never a state. That is why Abuja has a minster, and not a state governor.
Even when Lagos was Nigeria's capital it always had a governor, not a minister.
Lagos did not join Oodua Group because the Yoruba nationalists regard it as Non Yoruba. The Oba of Benin knows this.
so besides lagos, what other parts of SW Nigeria are benin towns? or is it just lagos you want to claim? lol

answer these questions:
have you ever been attacked by an armed robber? who do you blame for it?
what do you think GEJ's responsibility is as president of Nigeria?

What i mean is that she divorced her first husband and got married to me,as a christian is she my real wife?

we have stayed together for more than 5 years though without any child. Now my mind is telling me that she is not my real wife
huh
so you didn't know that she was divorced before you married her?
please tell me this topic is a joke

why rubbish God because you don't love your wife anymore. just divorce her as a personal decision (your mind) rather than bringing God into it.
I'm sure Abraham didn't kick Sarah out of his house for infertility.

Why not blame your Government for not adequately providing security for the people? 16000, and counting, is the estimated number of deaths by riot since 1999.
THANK YOU!!!
GEJ is to blame. what security measures is he putting into place to protect Nigerian citizens?
let us not lose sight of the responsibilities of our leaders plz. we elected them for a reason. let us hold them accountable to do their job.

the people blaming Buhari for post election violence are not reasoning well at all. do you want a one party system?
it seems that nigerians have been conditioned to "suffer and smile"
there is another thread where a poster is being abused for asking GEJ to provide light. apparently GEJ shouldn't be responsible for anything. he should just sit in Aso rock and enjoy life while we Nigerians suffer.
even Bakare's house was recently burnt down in a fire.  he burnt his own house down too abi?

GEJ SHOULD WAKE UP AND PROVIDE SECURITY FOR NIGERIANS ABEG. he was voted in and now he needs to do his job!
FashionRe: Getting Work Experience In A Fashion Industry? by Jenifa1: 3:02am On Apr 25, 2011
I'm pretty sure there are many african fashion designers based in UK that you can apprentice with. You don't need to move to Africa to do that unless you are planning to move anyway then I will suggest you find designers based in the UK and use their connection to meet someone in Nigeria/ other parts of Africa you're thinking of.

rufflychux:
Why Nigeria is corrupt and backwards.

1. Easterners -> Money, Corruption, Blood money, armed robbery.
2. Northeners -> Illiteracy, Uneducated mallams, suicide bombers (illiterate hausa's)
3. Southerners -> Other parts of Nigeria think they own the southerners. As taught in the schools, the three MAJOR LANGUAGES are
A .Hausa
B. Igbo
C. Yoruba

And this is being TAUGHT to children in schools. Discrimination is being taught to children in schools.
The division of Nigeria is being taught in the primary schools.
pleep:
My sister who went to school, 4th grade, in Nigeria for a year told me that her teacher taught the kids that Hausas drink human blood and worship Satan.
that's quite sad

Pastor Bakare's house got burnt down and it was God who did it.
maybe God killed the christian corpers in the north too?
Jenifa_, your empathy is almost too much. I wonder if you suffer from a bit of Stockholm Syndrome grin
lol. I had to google that. no I don't suffer from stockholm syndrome.
of course if a criminal broke into my house today I won't hesitate to take actions to protect myself by contacting the authorities.

what I wouldn't do though, is go throw stones at the criminal's sister's house out of anger and incite her (a formally netural person) to join his brother. that will be very irrational and that's what I see on many threads here.
maybe bush can tell you what he gained from waging war on an entire nation for the actions of a few criminals. didn't that just cause more people to "join the cause"?

besides i'm good friends with a few hausas and so that's where the empathy comes from.

asking me that is like asking me what i have done to end racism.
it's not that easy huh?
so why did you address the question to someone else when you can't answer it for yourself?
but ask yourself what you ought to do about this.what have the so-called good mallams ever done to prevent recurrences.
anyways,
if you read the topic title and first post of this topic, you will realize that you do not even belong on this thread.

Anyway, seeking to understand the motivations of the other side is fine, but I think you've crossed the line into justifying what they are doing. Yes, they might have good reasons (to them) for the crimes they've committed, but it doesn't make their actions acceptable.
I definitely am not justifying what they are doing. that's why I say that we need to hold our leaders accountable for arresting the criminals. I see them first and foremost as criminals not hausas.
the only thing I'm justifying is anti-christian sentiments in the north. but those who act out their sentiments by going on killing rampages. that I do not condone.
I feel that we take out the frustrations about the situation  on our leaders rather than on each other. because how will it help anything except make it worse?

ex. appealing to GEJ to do something about NYSC, finding the perpetrators etc
