Modest dream. I've always felt Nigeria plumbed for JF-17, having at some point decided that we as Nigerians are altogether too ambitious and that perhaps we ought to tailor our clothes according to size.
I actually think that the reason no JF 17 has landed is because of delays caused by Nigeria revising upward her requirements for this plane and only Block 3 meets those requirements.

I think we are getting AESA radar planes. If the radar fits in a version of Block 2 (with implications for cooling) or we get Block 3

True.

That is why we are standing behind an Igbo Presidency.
Igbos DONT WANT the Presidency. They told APC point blank and manifested it on election day. I think they should wait till 2031. Hatred is NOT a strategy and they have outplayed the cards they had in their hands. Its Buhari 's turn now to play his cards. No sentiments

Personally, I believe all states in Nigeria have the capacity to finance their own activities. There are so many untapped resources and sources of wealth in this country yet to be exploited and unless states are independent of the federal government those resources will remain unexploited
You are a good thinker but states are independent of the federal government. Pls dont share lies that cannot be substantiated.
States are immensely powerful. I think tue problem is most southerners are bred with inferiority complex and persecution complex towards the under developed north. A paradox but its unfortunately TRUE.

Rivers State is buying an oil block. Rivers State money enthroned presidents. Only one state only in the north has the power to feed Nigeria with rice and wheat and it is state governors that control surface real estate.
Nobody is even checking state governors. They all have state assemblies in their pockets. They collect 50% of VAT, they steal 100% of LGA funds. Why are states broke now? Because during Okonjo Iwealla/GEJ era, they were taking loans and stealing the money for roads, et.c

They are both incapable of fixing Nigeria.

The best thing that will happen to Nigeria is for States to be independent and fund their activities from their own income, earnings and revenue

Anyway, some tribal bigots will come to this thread just to display their stupidity
You are not thinking.
There is no single poor state in Nigeria. Not one. Fiscal unviability is temporary.
I used to hate all governors in.Nigeria but surprisingly most of them have started making moves to unlock resources in a big way. Even the worst of them.
It appears the only idiots remaining in Nigeria are online.

When the states start reaping the benefits of diversification and revenue generation, internal efficiency will now be IMPORTANT. That is why Nigeria will remain together otherwise agricultural produce will rot in the ground, minerals will not reach export ports, parallel security structures and unshared information will produce expensive security without effective security et.c
People will now start using their brains and regional agreements will lead to inter regional agreements et.c
Finally even the greatest fool amongst us will realize that HATRED is not a strategy

Yea.. The International Court Of Justice. The have the final say. The settled the case between Nigeria and Cameroon over the Bakasi issue.
Please stop this.
ICC has no jurisdiction over sovereign countries' election cases and you know it. Why is everyone so simple minded in Nigeria? . Life must be so easy.

Atiku is merely hinting that he will contest again in 2023. God has decided to wreck him financially for all his corrupt acts
PoliticsRe: Obiano Procures 315 Drums Chemical Foam AFFF Tridol For State Fire Service by Jimi24: 10:17am On Nov 01, 2019
This is so annoying. I like this governor but what we are doing to the youth is unfair. 80% of them.are dunces yet we are teaching them wrong governmental practices. You cannot as a governor be involved in routine procurement
Where is the five year plan for Anambra fire service. How many drills do they carry out. Where is the coverage plan for the state, does it cover villages?.
What of statutes enforcement?
Why are traders, markets and buildings violating fire protection laws?
This is what governance is about?

PoliticsRe: Debt Servicing Gulps N8 Trillion As FG Seeks More Loans by Jimi24: 9:29am On Nov 01, 2019
Debt service is not up to N3Tr. It is the only way to get infrastructure quickly and corruption free. The Chinese escrow the money and deliver. Any other way, Nigerians will steal all the money and deliver nothing.
Buhari has mapped Nigerian psychology. The people are weak, undisciplined, selfish, greedy, sentimental and cannot manage themselves out of a brown paper bag.
Better to borrow to do growth enhancing infrastructure NOW. Successive governments will enforce the taxation culture to pay the loans back. Meanwhile the economy would have grown so fast that we wont even feel it

Investment may be good but I wonder what Saudi will bring to the table since we are their rivals in oil sales.

The dumbest part of the article is on the area of security. What will Saudi offer? Saudi depends on US for security and we left US to meet Saudi for security.

The only thing I can say is that we may need their money but not for the things listed above. I stand to be corrected.

I believe Buhari is yet to tell us what he looking for in Saudi, it may be more than what we are reading.
Saudi Arabia can donate more than our current inventory of armored cars and MRAPs...just from their fairly used stuff. In turn they might ask us to send soldiers to help with Houthis. Nigeria should only send advisers and mercenaries.

PoliticsRe: Presidential Election Appeal: Issues Beyond The Verdict Of The Supreme Court by Jimi24: 8:31pm On Oct 31, 2019
Why should Odilli a PDP member"s wife and other judges sympathetic to PDP be permitted to sit?. The SE is also a horned of PDP and probably every judge from there is on the payroll Rivers State Gov.

I think someone has General Munammadu Buhari confused for Yemi Osinbajo. PDP has been perpetrating such evil that they even penetrated the entire judiciary with money and cult connections and you expect Buhari and the CJN to just sit and watch. Please get real. This country ia already being sifted you all better prepare yourselves.

Serious contempt of court from this dirty mouthed low life.
He thinks he can be disrespectful the highest court in the land?

Pick up the cretin and teach him some lesson. Low life product of Nigerias fallen educational system.

Atiku is not even a university graduate but look at his reaction to the judgement ...choosing his words carefully.
Peter Oni, a business man was measured and cultured in his reaction to a judgment he did not support but will abide by.

That is the difference between the standard of education and grooming of the past compared with the current one that is churning.out cultists and prostitutes yearly.

AGF, pick him up and make him an example pls.

PoliticsRe: Border Closure: 98 Firms Relocate, Others Lose Millions by Jimi24: 4:58pm On Oct 30, 2019
Wallade:
I honestly think CBN gave government-backed loans to rice farmers and suddenly, farmers must have been defaulting on repayment and they realised there is a significant possibility of huge bad loans.

Farmers excuse must have been that Nigerians don't buy local rice and CBN plus govt must have gambled with the idea of closing the boarders to create artificial scarcity of rice and super profit for rice farmers to enable them to repay the non performing loans.

This is an assumption; you are on your own if you believe it.
Its not just a thought. It is fact. Anchor Borrower Program loan defaults are high. The higher prices will push more educated people and financially literate people unto rice farming.
Aside from this, with high rice prices, people will partially shift to substitutes like yams, millet and cassava products. Those substitutes' prices will go up.and more people will invest in farming and its value chain.
This border closure will transform Nigerian economy. The people that will lose are the people that gained during PDP - lazy, city dwelling, middle class office workers. Unless they invest in.agro allied sector through crowd funding or direct participation

N5bn minimum. Some days, they made N9bn. I know many Nigerians importing rice mills as we speak. Ogun state and Lagos state planning their own CBN type anchor borrower schemes. Ole boy, what are you saying?.
Atiku will still be their presidential candidate in 2023. Most people under estimate the curse on that party.
Buying nomination with less tuan $15 000 per delegate.
Wike was actually right, Tambuwal may have done better or maybe they should have begged back Skekarau.

That evil party, killer of Dokubo, Harry, Bola Ige, Azzazzi, Idiagbon is cursed. Get out of it.

thelastorca:
No sympathy for PDP. Useless party. They allowed a serial LovePeddler to hijack them . Atiku entered the party, and two months later he was their presidential candidate. A man for whom pdp is nothing but an ambition vehicle. A man who had abandoned the party twice in the past. The people who were loyal to pdp were sidelined. To top that off, he brought in another outsider as vp.

Pdp that was yammering about rebranding went to bring in a member of the old guard with a dubious record.

Buhari could have done better, but pdp deserved their failure, especially with their ridiculous server noise. Anybody who voted would have told you votes are collated manually in ballot boxes.

They have taken goebbels too far, repeat and shout a lie until you actually believe it yourself.

I pray.

Super story, where will they relocate to when the market is here in Nigeria and those that left when Nigeria was in recession are now regretting it and are looking for ways to come back.

My own take is that this border closure should have happened ay the early stages of planting season to prepare farmers to farm more lands and cultivate more rice farms, and secondly government should do something urgently about electricity as it is one of the major reasons industries relocated to Ghana in the first place and electricity availability will bring more industries to come to Nigeria as we have the population and petro dollars which makes Nigeria a sgrong market.
What nonsense?
CBN has been meeting rice farmers, millers and merchants almost every month. At the last meeting, it was they who unanimously told FG, keep the door locked.
Nigerians should stop INVENTING news. It is pathetic. If a govt policy does not favour you, pray fir understanding and wisdom. Dont ever tell lies
