what we are complaining about is the manipulative, unscriptural and deceitful way ( which is mostly through a demand for tithes) a number of churches go about getting their congregation to part with their money.

indulgence! some people love relationships that cost nothing that is the problem. first you don't go to church because the pastors will ask you money then you are on nairaland trying to twist scriptures you have never obeyed one word from.  the reason many people find it difficult to give is they don't have a relationship with the God they are supposed to be giving to  or they don't understand the principle of giving.

at a time like this when we se money begin to fail and loose its value as the bible have said  we all need to begin to trust God rather let all the unbelievers and unbelieving believers sow seeds of doubt and disobedience into your heart.  it is better to obey God than man.  we are almost wired to disobey rather than obey simple instructions.

God will never ask you what He has not given you.  we must learn to hear His voice in giving. how can a christian listen to people who obey their god telling them to kill others, hate and marry 4 wives and find problem Gods word.  the devil surely has a deceptive voice.

bible said talking about God in Psalms 50.  note  vs 12 very well.  we don't have anything we have not be given by God.

our God as revealed in the bible is not hungry He owns it all.  He could have stopped the money some of us hold so tightly from reaching us in the first place but He loves us so much.  

tithing or giving is never about money  but always about obedience or your understanding of what obedience to God will mean for your relationship with Him and where your plaace will be in relation to His wealth.  some people only love God with their  mouth but never with anything not even their time.

abortion indeed. how did he escaped being aborted himself? abortion is wrong. it is violence against the weak. one of the most awful programe i have ever watched was on the pain women felt many years after abortion. for some it is an open wound.

London News: Banned radical Muslim preacher paid for pole dancer daughter's boob job while on benefits Friday, 26 September 2008

Exiled radical cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed managed to pay for his daughter Yasmin Fostock’s boob job, even though he was claiming benefits in the UK, according to The Sun.

50-year-old Bakri, who preaches hate towards women who flaunt their sexuality, secretly paid £4000 in cash for the breast implants which took his daughter from a size A to a DD.

A friend of single mum Yasmin said, “Her dad’s ashamed of her behaviour but she’d have never have become a pole dancer if he hadn’t paid for her bigger boobs.

“She was always self-conscious about her size and managed to convince him she should have it done. She played the daddy’s girl and said it would make her feel more of a mother when she was breast feeding her children.

“He went along with it and even went to the top London clinic with her where he paid for the surgery in cash. The rest of the family were set against it, but he insisted she should have her way if it would make her a better mother.

“But it backfired disastrously because her new figure encouraged her to go out and flaunt her new body. She was flattered by the attention of men and her new confidence led directly to her work dancing half naked in clubs full of leering men.

“She’d never have done it if it wasn’t for those boobs — which were paid for by her father. It’s all his fault.”

Internet fraudsters in rent scam

Prospective tenants are being conned out of thousands of pounds as part of an elaborate internet scam, a BBC London investigation has found.

The conmen put exclusive properties at cheap rents on the advertising website Gumtree then trick payments from would-be tenants via money transfer agencies.

BBC London found the e-mail addresses of the scammers originated in Nigeria.

A spokesman for Gumtree said it was working with the money transfer agency Western Union to prevent the fraud.

Sisters Alexandra, 19, and Zaire Sheppard, 18, from Holloway in north London, have been victims of the scam.

Fake identification

They spotted an advertise on Gumtree for a two-bedroom apartment in Belgrove Street in Camden. The cost was £650 a month, plus a deposit of £700.

They e-mailed the owner, who called himself "Lin Dong".

He claimed he had had trouble with tenants before and wanted proof the sisters could afford the rent and deposit.

Lin Dong asked Alexandra to send a payment of £1,350 through Western Union, not to him, but to a trusted friend or relative of her choice.

He then requested a scanned copy of the transfer payment receipt so that he could verify that she had the available funds.

Some time afterwards, a fraudster using fake identification, pretending to be Zaire Sheppard, walked into a Western Union office with the scanned receipt and took the money.

Alexendra said: "I was put off my guard because I was not asked to send the money directly to Lin Dong - I sent the money to my sister."

BBC London found a similar scam in which a fraudster was offering a two-bedroom flat for rent in Wigmore Street, Marylebone Village.

The fake owners, who identified themselves as "Katie" and "Benson", claimed they were on holiday in France and needed a quick deal.

As in the scam which hit the Sheppard sisters, they wanted £1,350 to be forwarded through Western Union and then to be sent a scan of the receipt.

'Suspicious activity'

But BBC London checked the origin of the e-mails and found they were all sent from Lagos, Nigeria.

During a telephone conversation, a man who called himself "Ben" said the flat was still available.

He was asked for an exact address in Wigmore Street but refused to give it. He then said he was in Paris.

When asked if he meant Lagos he hung up.

A Gumtree spokesman said: "We strongly discourage users from transferring money in advance of seeing a flat, or anything else they may see advertised on the site.

"We also operate a community reporting system whereby users can easily alert us to suspicious activity so that we can take action, and furthermore we are working with Western Union to try to put a stop to this sort of fraudulent activity."

Western Union said it was investigating the scam, but could not offer refunds to the people who have been defrauded by it.
