I am not really sure what you are talking about.
What are these solutions that you elude to in your post?

Should I just leave Nigerian men alone because there is no way for an American girl like me to know the real from the fake?
men in your area and nigerian men are ugly rumour to you try becoming a nun.

i just finished reading the book  If God Is So Good, Why Are Blacks Doing So Bad? by James Dixon.  black american christian men are not better than their nigerian God using cousins.  i will give you guys 100% on ability to talk right and 5% on living right.  nigerians are no better so try the arabs.

i think you should work on yourself and forget relationships for now.

good luck

Your sentiment exactly show what I am talking about Nigerians big and hype attitude about themselves. When you kept giving nations like Equuitorial Guinea money when they had better road, water supply and constant power, what does that make you? a complete slowpoke! What do you expect these nations to do if you give them money? say, no thanks?
Only three years ago, OBJ gave Ghana a hefty cheque to the amazement of the Ghananians. Did they say no? of course not.
Indices for this debate is just the provision of basic (yes basic!!!!!!!!!) infrastructures and Nigeria can't soil it.
if this is true it is very funny. OBJ surely has some foolishness in his brains.

nigeria is a failed state and a joke. as we speak OBJ is working out how to bring another president maybe nigerian deserves this evil. this is not funny
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar last Thursday tried explaining why he chose to make up with former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

As sensible as his explanation was, that at 62, and with more years behind him than the years ahead of him he needed to “discard vindictive tendencies so as to leave a good example for our children and posterity”, I, like most Nigerians, find it hard to believe his sincerity. Isn’t this the same VP Atiku Abubakar that fought the former president with all vindictiveness even though he made out then that the fight was based on principles? So what principle is he projecting this time around?

That in politics there are only permanent interests and no permanent enemies or friends? And when he talks of national interest, I wonder what national interest this reconciliation would engender given that both of them had ample opportunities thrown on their laps to rebuild, reshape and reengineer the nation, especially with the vast resources then at their disposal as the Nos. 1 and 2 at the helm of affairs?

When Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State branded the meeting at which the reconciliation was effected as “a dance of the witches”, he did not realise that though a witty statement, he had inadvertently foretold what the reconciliation portended for the nation – nothing good. Witches and wizards portend evil, so do their covens where they meet (forget the nonsense about white or good witches), and if the architect of the reconciliation could tag it a dance of the witches, then we should take the whole thing for what it is - evil.

I empathise with people like Ms Temi Harriman (former member of the House of Representatives and Action Congress candidate in the Delta South 2007 senatorial contest) who staked their all for a leader who could easily dump his followers for a pot of porridge; I hope she is out of shock now and is resolved to keep her eyes peeled to ensure she does not back a wrong horse next time; for this Atiku of a leader surely is a very wrong horse!

Now, do witches forgive and reconcile? No, they do not forgive, but they may reconcile in order to effectively devour a common enemy – in this case Nigeria and Nigerians. Perhaps there is something these two members of a common coven forgot at Aso Rock that they so desperately want to retrieve? Some unfinished business perhaps, that only their coming together again could give them easy access to?

But having said all these, I pity the man. It is not easy to go crawling on all fours to a sworn enemy in the full glare of the whole world especially in the full consciousness of the damage that such a re-marriage could do to one’s political profile. But then sometimes, you may need to call a cow “big brother” just so you could have access to its beef…Abi no be so?

Re- Is it possible to have rancour-free inauguration?

One day we shall get to where America is! Without mincing words there is no atom of spirit of service in our leaders but that of selfishness, embezzlement, corruption, tribalism, conspiracy, religious sentiments etc. With all these, we can’t get to where America is.
Lekan Oladeji, Ilora. 08053049443

These tales from other lands are signs that truly, ‘communal stubbornness’ can determine the difference between our ‘here’ and their ‘there’. A people whose overriding concern is to loot will view the act of governance through a do-or-die spectrum rather than see it as a matrix for development. How many of our past heads-of-state/presidents, after leaving office, applied for a mortgage to build a roof like Clinton did? If truly, morning shows the day, then BARACK’S un-regimented inauguration connoted a very symbolic and portentous omen.
Dayo Oladeji, Saki, Oke Ogun. 08027278748

Don’t be sad at all because every non-American who saw what happened on the inauguration day would wish the same were happening in his country but America did not get to where she is today in one day. As a nation Nigeria must keep working and keep taking steps one at a time and we shall surely get to the land of promise. We as a people can and will achieve our dreams if we don’t give up on ourselves and nation. Jide, Kaduna. 08072287169

Note that no politician in your country knows the words of our national anthem, let alone sing it on a national television and mean every word they utter: How do you expect them to do what they consider as not their bounding-duty? When they are quite sure of the excess-crude-oil fund to scramble for, and share. When their unfailing jumbo allowance(s) are ready for them to grab, and grab, with a modicum of effort! According to you, one day, we shall get to where America is? You are wrong. Our political class damned with diabolical and such selfish ambition, cannot lead us anywhere near the promised-land. Don’t you think yours is a bastardised country? Is that not just the gospel truth?
Ambassador Benson Umoh. Abeokuta. 08028010021

Is it possible to have rancour free inauguration here? Thank you for asking. The answer is No. Why? The so-called democratic system is monopolised by the bourgeoisie and has simply become an instrument for oppressing the people. Simply put, the system is based on self interest, not public interest. Why? Nigeria is not yet a nation. It is a trading post of Europe.

CrimeBorishade, Fani-kayode, Others To Refund N5.4bn - Senate by JJYOU(op): 2:33pm On Feb 02, 2009
Borishade, Fani-Kayode, others to refund N5.4bn - Senate

Taiwo Adisa, Abuja - 02.02.2009

The Senate Committee on Aviation, which probed the N19.5 billion Aviation Intervention fund released during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo has recommended that the four persons named in the management of the fund including the two former Ministers of Aviation, Professor Babalola Borishade and Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, should refund N4.5 billion to the coffers of the government.

Others mentioned in the report who are to refund part of the money include the former Managing Director of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Rowland Iyayi and the Managing Director of Avsatel Company Limited, Mr. George Eider. The recommendation is contained in the report of the committee headed by Senator Anyim Ude, which will be debated by the Senate tomorrow.

It was also gathered that the committee recommended that the Federal Government should intensify the ongoing probe of the affected officials especially in the area of contract awards that covered the Aviation Intervention Fund. The report of the aviation committee had suffered a setback in the Senate last year, following the rejection of the initial report by the senators.

Senators had claimed that the report was scanty and that the chairman did not carry along his members in compiling the report. The current report has already been laid before the Senate and is scheduled for debate tomorrow.

It was gathered that the report also recommended that the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should continue the prosecution of the arrested persons in connection of the N19.5 Billion aviation fund. The Committee recommended that the former Ministers and the aviation Chiefs should refund the said N4.5 billion which was part of a loan of N6.5 billion said to have been sourced from Zenith Bank without the approval of the Federal Executive Council.

The Committee stated that it discovered that the Safe tower project was actually executed with the sum of N1.1 billion. The Senate Committee was early last year mandated to probe the usage of the N19.5 billion aviation fund, leading to the appearance of Prof Borishade and Chief Fani-Kayode before the committee.

After appearing before one of the public hearings of the Committee last year, the two former Ministers and Iyayi were arrested after the Austrian, Eider was earlier picked up by operatives of the EFCC iinside the National Assembly.

Also, the committee in its recommendations asked the Federal government to further investigate the usage of the N2billion meant for the payment of severance allowances for the retirees in the Aviation sector .It was believed that some ghost workers had benefited from the disbursement of the money, while nearly 400 workers who made away with about N780 million were regarded as ghost workers.

Chief Fani-Kayode had defended himself while appearing before the Senate Committee saying he had a copy of approval by the Federal Executive Council (FEC). He said, “I have a copy of FEC approval here, the contract was supposed to be funded from the Natural Resources Development Fund and to be paid back in five years.”

Prof. Borishade also defended himself while appearing before the committee. He said: “When I left in November 2006, the contracts had been awarded but no withdrawals were made.” The appearances of the two Ministers were however characterized by contradictions as they continued to make counter allegations. For instance, Fani Kayode was to contradict Borishade, when he insisted that the former Minister had made some payments before he left office.

He said :”I cannot be held responsible for the N8.4 billion that was spent before I came in or for what happened to or what was spent out of the approximately N7.2 billion that I left behind. I can only be held responsible and accountable for the approximately N3.8 billion intervention fund and 11.5 billion Rivers State Government Soft Loan that I administered.”

Lawyers serve as bribe couriers for corrupt public officers - EFCC - Accuses SANs of frustrating anti-graft war

Lanre Adewole, Abuja - 02.02.2009

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that lawyers now made themselves available as bribe couriers to corrupt public officers being investigated by the commission. Chairman of EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri, who said this during a visit to the national secretariat of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), also accused senior lawyers of frustrating the fight against corruption, saying they stalled prosecution of their clients beng tried by the commission.

A statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the spokesperson of the commission, Mr. Femi Babafemi, said “Mrs. Waziri has called on the NBA to prevail on its senior members to assist the commission in the prosecution of cases stalled in various courts across the country.” Waziri, who was received by the NBA President, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), lamented that some of the commission cases in court had dragged unnecessarily and blamed the situation on the antics of some senior members of the bar whom, she said, were in the habit of exploiting the weakness of the nation’s judicial processes by filling frivolous applications to frustrate the trial of suspects for corruption and money laundering.

The situation, according to her, was frustrating, as rate of conviction was a yardstick for measuring the effectiveness of any law enforcement agency.“When you fight this kind of war without achieving conviction, the impact is not felt,” she said. Waziri frowned at the activities of some unscrupulous lawyers who fraudulently obtained money from their clients under the pretext of delivering same as bribe to officers of the commission to ‘kill’ cases under investigation.

Chief Akeredolu thanked Waziri and her team for the visit while assuring them that the NBA was committed to the fight against corruption and financial crimes.“NBA is prepared to cooperate with EFCC in all respect so that we can win this war,” he said. He urged the EFCC to report lawyers caught collecting money from their clients ostensibly as bribes for EFCC, assuring that the association would de-list such.

The NBA President promised to recommend lawyers that could bolster the legal team of the commission but warned against the practice of appointing as prosecutor, a lawyer that was already defending a client against the commission to avoid the conflict of interest.

Hello mezdim.Actually,if you look harder still, you'll see someone to give you money to settle your bills. That by the way,you say you were able to defer your rent by a month and pay others. Why,seems you gave the others more proirity above your rent and your promise(vow) to God.And now you're asking for advice on who to settle first now between rent and promise to God,well i believe it will be difficult for me to give you advice cos you may not listen to my advice. If you have the spine anyway,
Psalm 76:11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

Ecc 5:4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
Ecc 5:5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.
Ecc 5:6 Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
GOD IS NEVER HUNGRY. SEEING YOU HAVE VOWED AND REFUSED TO PAY UP SHOWS THE KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE.

UBA will never stop this old nature of banking, can you imagine that UBA held a test today in Abuja? Men it was a flop, both on the part of organizers and the bank, no order. the list printed from the bank were 700 out of the numerous CVs submitted but to my dismay only 350 wrote the test leaving the rest 350 to their faith. after much effort to know the way forward; one of the organisers cam openly to announce that the answers sheets are exusted and thereby they could no longer continue.

please help me tell UBA to stop decieving us, because i know for sure they already had their candidates for the vacancies. believe me over 3000 people turned out for the test, the earlier promise was that wheither or not your name is on the list you are surly going to write the test, knowing fully well that their answer sheets are inadequate.

How long will this continue.
