Atheists respect "Free will" the right to choose and knowledge. If they theists spent more time learning, understanding and taking the good from all the knowledge available to them (instead repeating these crazy, Lord of the ring stories) They'd probably be better christians. This is why is why i think there is need for an association of atheists and free thinkers here in nigeria to make it easier for us to network so that those who need like minded partners can easily get hooked up. Such association exists in the US and other countries of the world. We can do it here!

Love, fairness, forgiveness etc are qualities that are naturally part of every human. Parts of the brain control all these things.

Ever wondered why Nigeria is so corrupt yet we have so many churches and mosques around? It is because majority of the people have sold their consciences on the alters of religion. Christianity for instance taught her adherents that their sins are forgiven by god, so many now do evil without being mindful of d result.

The result of this is that we may end up having more people in the church who are there just for acceptability sake and not that they believe in any god, such people will have no choice than see church as a kind of social gathering. Some will even turn it to an avenue to make more money and have more women flock around them.

I strive for good morals not because i am affraid of being judged by any god but because the society where i was born had a moral code that guided it, and anybody who goes against such codes is usually rebuked by the society.

Most atheists are open minded and would not prevent you and your children from going to church or praying provided you let him be.
