Who knows how many more he would see to their early graves before these four years end. God save us from this bloodthirsty demon that calls himself president. |

Medicals has been done,a total of 10 candidates frm difft locations went thru it...nd if its batch by batch i dnt knw....i will only advise us to move on atleast for now,God might have a better plan...all is well. At least I succeeded in getting you to post this info Anyway, I still believe we will be called. Perhaps they are calling in batches. Still wondering the rationale behind sending people success mails and informing them that they will called 'as and when due' , only to go through the back and call a few others whilst keeping the rest in the dark, when they could have just sent them regret mails and save them the stress of anxiously waiting to be called. Anyway, let's just keep praying about it. |

Politics is politics. This is not politics. It is national security and our men and women in uniform need our absolute support as they go about their patriotic duties at huge personal risk and sacrifice. We shouldn't mock them by despicable words and acts that belittle their campaigns. The PDP and her suporters should keep silent. They had a chance at leadership and did not deliver. They should cooperate with this new government in halting this scourge. It is in our common interest. balderdash!!! Cooperate with a government led by the same people that leveled all kinds of false accusations against the Jonathan's government and deceived gullible Nigerians into voting for the foolish one from Daura Bros, u high All the ineptitude of this incompetent administration that has failed from start must be exposed. lexy2014: Well I was only trying 2 localise d situation, make it practicable. Am sure your unwillingness 2 allow your female relatives watch over u while u sleep is cos they are women Not really because they are women, but because I think I am more experienced in security matters than them. If any of them proves to be more capable than I am, then I have no problem allowing her do it. |
Family › Re: Being A Strong Woman Isnt Remarkable, It's Normal - Adichie by Jman06(m): 6:54pm On May 31, 2015 |
lexy2014: d example I gave on civil defence isn't about a job. Would u allow your wife, sisters and daughters keep watch over u at night while u sleep? To answer your question, I may not allow that. But there are many men who will allow, and there are many women who are willing and ready to watch over their men at night, and there are also many men who are weaker and not capable of watching over anybody at night, in that case shouldn't the woman simply do it? Provided she willingly want to? |
Family › Re: Being A Strong Woman Isnt Remarkable, It's Normal - Adichie by Jman06(m): 6:19pm On May 31, 2015 |
lexy2014: when growing up in benin, we had what was called civil defence. A form of night vigilante or night watch in which landlords took turns in batches 2 keep watch over their streets at night. Bro do u xpect that if I was a landlord I would allow my wife, daughters and sisters out at night while I snore away all night long just cos we want prove gender equality and respect their choices? Bros maybe u can do such but me I no do that one. No sentiments Bro, what of those other women who don't have other people to discourage them from doing such jobs? But who must do the job to survive? Do you stop them because they are women? Well, like I stated earlier, I cannot permit my wife, sisters, sons or brothers to engage in such jobs, not because of gender issues, but because I can afford to help them get something better. Simple |

lexy2014: Yes I have seen women in those vocations but I won't encourage my wife or female siblings 2 tow that line. Would u encourage your wife and sisters 2do those jobs? if that is what they want to do, I have no problem with that. Personally,I may not encourage my wife or sister to do such jobs just like I cannot encourage my sons or brothers to do such jobs, simply because they can do better than that. Not necessarily because such jobs are meant for a particular gender. |

lexy2014: In as much as I respect chimamanda 4 her giant strides in d field of literature, I fear that she is only promoting what she says she's fighting against. First of all,d world we live is built and thrives on inequality. This isn't a function of gender but a function of roles, resources, responsibility and order. If all men or humans are equal, then there will b no order as it will b everyman 4 himself. It has nothing 2do with gender. would chimamanda say she wouldn't fly d "don't u no am a woman" banner if I told her 2go work as a bricklayer? There are things I wouldn't encourage my sisters or wife 2do yes cos she's a woman. I wouldn't encourage my wife 2do night vigilante cos she wants 2 feel equal with men. No man is superior 2 any woman cos of his gender and vice versa. All there is 2 it is that we COMPLEMENT each other. That's d foundation Nelson Mandela laid. He didn't say cos he was a victim let's reward d blacks at d xpense of d whites. He promoted a multi racial society. Chimamandas views are skewed and she is only trying 2 promote feminism. She got it wrong Bro, apart from reproductive role difference, any role that can be played by a man can equally be played by a woman. Haven't you seen female bricklayers and night guards before?? I have my dear and they do it perfectly well. |

She also works as a nutrition advisor for nestle. BTW, why do you believe the guy so easily but vehemently dismissed my suspicion that the guy might not be telling you the truth? Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Invite To Nestle Function Test And Interview 2015 by Jman06(m): 8:44am On May 31, 2015 |
Well, I think we should exercise a little more patience because from what I gathered from some guys who were undergoing training for the same position we applied for, nestle doesn't call immediately after sending success mails. It takes months before they call. According to the guys, they did their test/interview around November last year but got called for training around April this year. Even all these people saying they have been invited for medicals, I seriously doubt them. Maybe they are up for some mischief.
So, let's keep hope alive and not become pessimistic about our chances of getting the job yet. |

Adichie is right!!! I detest it when women are made to play second fiddle to men. I mean! When we already know that more women are smarter than their male peers in all spheres of life. In this age, both the male and female gender should be raised with the mindset that non is superior to the other. The consequences of doing the opposite continuously stare us in the face, yet some would not accept that. I know a family where the first male child grew up to become an overgrown baby whilst his immediate older sister(not older than 2yrs anyway) is the architect of the family's success today. Of course the guy was overpampered because he's male, while the lady was exposed to work early in life. The result is a lazy man who goes about beating his chest about how masculine he is whilst his sister is the engine room of the family. Whenever I think about that family, my resolve to empower my unborn daughters as much (if not more) as I do my sons gets deepened. Women should never be treated as inferior to men. In fact, any discrimination against the female gender should be treated as a criminal offence. Period |

RileyFreeman1: Truth be told bro, the company has a good reputation but when it comes to recruitment, they are not what we think they are. So many wrongs, and ill treatment of candidates.
How else will you explain a scene like this?-
Applied for a job with Nestle.
About 100-150 people were invited for dragnet test. About 30 were invited for function based test after that. (These 30 exchanged contacts). About 10 were successful and invited for interviews. (These 10 kept contact with each other)
Out of the 10, 5 received success mails and 6 received regret mails.
Out of these 5, there were 3 men and 2 ladies.
Days after receipt of success mails, 5 people were invited for medicals (3 guys and 2 ladies). The 2 ladies were from the 5 that got success mails, the 3 guys came from the moon.
The other 3 guys that got success mails have been waiting for over than half a year ever since without any form of contact from Nestle.
Only to find out from the 2 ladies later that these 3 guys knew people who pulled strings on their behalf.
Lucky enough 2 of these 3 guys have better jobs now. One is a lecturer and the other works with a multinational Oil and Gas coy.
*moral: what's yours won't pass you by. God will do it for us. I have no doubts about that. |

(Luckily for us at the interview and thanks to nairaland, we all kept contact with each other)
Two weeks after the success mail, we asked via insiders and was told some people have done medicals and resumed for the same opening we interviewed for. Where these people are from remains a mystery.
Its over 8 months now, still nothing from Nestle. Even online application is still pending.
In summary, Nestle can be a very funny company. I know a few people who have gotten jobs on merit with them, I give them that respect but they are not in anyway credible and corruption free. NickiRoman: Why are you focusing on the guy, simply ignoring what the mother did. You being emotional rather than rational
So because she is his mother she has a right a to slap him despite the fact she is at fault,She created the problem and she is escalating it further If you read my post well you should see where I condemned the mom for what she did. I thought the phrase "never hit a woman" is applied to all women. Never knew it's changed when the guy's mom is at the receiving end. So if my wife slaps me for whatever reason, I am now justified to slap her twice. Init? There ain't no more better ways of handling a lady when she gets physical than getting physical too? I ain't being no emotional, just stating the fact. |
