drimzsmoke:So because he's actively searching for job means that he's looking for poverty alleviation scheme But men would pick your gender up from the gutters, brush them up and marry them! Yet men cannot get similar consideration from well-to-do ladies! This is why I think that the idea of gender equality and women empowerment is useless to humanity and should be abolished asap. |
Anashe:I've known that lady for quite a while here and she has always identified as a feminist. So, I didn't just start referring to her as a feminist based on her opinion on the topic of discuss. |
Anashe:Speak for yourself and stop dragging all African women into your delusion. Many of those our mothers you write about are/were happily married and couldn't wish for any other thing from the peaceful homes and lovely children they were able to raise. My mom for instance got married at 15, had all of us and my dad was able to train all of us up to the university level. Just about the time they were to start enjoying the fruit of their labor, my dad died leaving only mom to enjoy. Today, she goes from one location to another and enjoy the fruits of her labor. I'm very sure she doesn't regret marrying at the time she did. |
kkins25:You must be living in fool's paradise for you not to realize that the majority of 'modern' ladies now set unrealistic standards of the the kind of men to marry. How convenient it is for you to blame men and accuse them of going for twerking ladies. Try to approach those ladies in prayer houses disturbing God for husbands, maybe then you'll realize that their problem is not that suitors are not coming, but that the kind of men that meet their high unrealistic expectations are not coming for them. Believe it or not, western civilization created a generation of greedy and insatiable women and that has put a strain on our traditional family system and created a chaos in romantic relationships between men and women. |
Odidigboigbo:They're called patent medicine dealers |
Odidigboigbo:Pharmacists are not involved in drug falsification! Most of the people faking drugs in Nigeria operate from the open drug markets and are mostly illiterates who never went to university let alone studying Pharmacy. Pharmacists are under oath to do the right thing and ensure that patients get high quality medicines. Also, Pharmacists are always very careful because if caught in any compromising act, he's not only going to face prosecution by the laws but his license would be withdrawn! Every Pharmacist dreads having his license withdrawn because that would mean no more practice for him, a waste of his years in school and also a big dent on his reputation as a professional. |
Biglittlelois:Well, like I previously stated, I don't expect you to understand my point because as a feminist (pseudo feminist), you have conditioned your mind to argue selfishly once the argument is about the two genders. |
1Sharon:Check it out on google. |
Maysdevices:I'm Igbo but the attitude of my tribesmen towards therapeutic drugs is sickening! They believe that everything is "business". The illiterates don't even understand the dangers of selling fake drugs, yet they keep doing it. |
1Sharon:They have traditional birth attendants |
Maysdevices:Why are you calling Seun Igbos are majorly the ones destroying Nigeria's therapeutic drug markets! From bridge head markets to Sabongari market to Idumota market, most of the merchants of fake drugs are IGBOs. They're are also the ones fighting every government's policies to tackle this problem. Mind you, I'm Igbo but the truth must be said if we must find a solution to this menace. |
BareFacedLies:You're the one who's small-minded because you would rather pretend that all is well whilst our family system is getting decimated. Yes, she is a feminist and a lesbian, so no chance of you getting laid by her, captain save a wh.0re! |
Biglittlelois:If you could think properly for once, you'll realize that many Nigerian men are getting into crime nowadays in order to meet up with the expectation of their women. This is because the empowerment of the women folk reduced their chances at work places and also created a generation of women whose expectations from men are so high that only a few privileged men can meet up. This is one major reason why some guys now resort to crime in order to meet up. Why can't Nigerian women kick against payment of bride price and also contribute 50% of the funds required to run their homes? If they cannot do the above, then their education and employment is of no benefit and would rather destroy the traditional family system. I don't expect you to understand the point I'm making though |
I blame this on those saddled with the responsibility of regulating therapeutic drugs in this country. The laws are there and empower these government agencies viz NAFDAC, PCN etc to prosecute these unscrupulously evil traders who indulge in sales of fake and adulterated unwholesome drugs. But these agencies are sleeping in offices and collecting salaries and allowances while the merchants of death operate freely and killing unsuspecting Nigerians. PCN was actively involved in inspection and enforcement duties when the immediate past registrar was in office. But immediately this current Hausa man took over, the agency stopped working. All they now do is to go graduate 400 poorly trained Pharmacists in UNN alone ( even when other universities don't graduate that much). Pushing out many Pharmacists without securing their work environment! I wish all the regulatory agencies concerned with regulation of therapeutic drugs can borrow a leaf from Buba Marwa's NDLEA. Nigerians may not really know that the problem of fake and falsified medicine is on a very high level at this time. It is getting worse by the day and many people are dying as a result! |
Biglittlelois:So, all your little brain could think of is that I support Boko Haram? Much as I don't support Boko Haram and their violent ways, I also understand that they are fighting to correct one of the negative sides of Western education and civilization,,,which is the destruction of the traditional family system. Every right thinking individual understands that education, especially women's education, tends to destroy the traditional family system. Women who are empowered via education and employment would still want the men to be the traditional men who are seen as the sole providers yet these women would not stick to their own traditional roles of being submissive to their husbands and taking care of the children and the house generally. This is the reason why many men are not interested in marriage these days. Or are you not seeing the alarming number of unmarried men and women in the society Don't you realize that such situation threatens human existence on earth Western education and civilization are good but we have to work on maintaining the family unit. If women know that they're not ready to change their mindset from what they think a man's role is in the family to the mindset that aligns with the current reality of women empowerment, then it is better to stop all the hue and cry about gender equality, girl-child education and women empowerment. We must then withdraw our women from schools and work places so they can go back to their husbands' houses and become that submissive traditional wives for whom traditional men paid dowry and catered for. The Taliban did it in Afghanistan, so we can as well do it here. You don't expect to eat your cake and still have it. |
Education has no impact in Nigeria because what we receive here is junk education! That is why even PhD holders in Nigeria think and reason in no different way from a motor park tout. People go to schools in this country just to belong to the class of school goers. Same thing applies to religion. |
APOPTOSIS:Exactly the problem! If civilians want to protest, it is still the same soldiers and policemen ....who are also suffering with us, that the wicked politicians would send to shoot the protesters. That's why I don't pity the soldiers and policemen one bit. |
The guy did well. I like what he did |
Everybody can now understand why the likes of Boko Haram are against western education. It destroys the traditional family values and keep the two genders at loggerheads as both men and women appear to be in contest of who is smarter than the other. No gender wants to 'gree' for the other. Continuity of human existence is clearly threatened by the above scenario. |
Your wife really fvvcked up! I believe that couples should be very open to each other to point that they can share their little dirty secrets and keep it only among themselves like some partners in "crime". They should share their dirtiest sexual fantasies and try to fulfill these fantasies together where possible or help each other to jettison any such fantasies that maybe unhealthy for their marriage. This level of closeness will not only help to cement their union but would help them to detect when any of them is about to stray. |
Mods please help move to front page |
VeryWickedMan:You people should stop this age mate talk abeg! How many people can marry their age mates in Nigeria Your female age mates mature and marry even before you finish secondary school, not to talk of when you finish university, serve, job hunt and by the time you're ready for marriage, all of your female age mates would have been married. By that time the girls who would be available for marriage are those who might even be 20years younger than you. I really think that some of you small boys should stop seeing matured men marrying younger girls as rivals. I know that some of you react to such marriages out of jealousy; thinking that the older dude is intimidating you with his money. That was why many of you cried when Ned Woko married Regina Daniels. You should get used to how marriages work here because your whining can't change it. Don't worry, by the time you're ready to marry, you'll also collect someone's younger girlfriend LOL Sorry I had to digress and address this matter. |
Mods please, help move to front page! This is a critical matter. |
I have always wondered why Nigeria is the only country that pay lip service to regulation of therapeutic drugs, yet we complain about poor healthcare system! Is it that our health policy makers are too ignorant to see the link between poorly regulated drug distribution system and poor healthcare delivery system ![]() When regulation of drug market is poor, it negatively impact the healthcare system in the following ways: 1. Fake drugs--- one of the consequences of not regulating therapeutic drug distribution is that merchants of fake drugs would operate freely. Fake drugs lead to treatment failures, injuries and death. Imagine a situation where a patient is being treated of malaria with a fake antimalarial medication, the doctor believes that he is giving the right medication but the patient would rather continue to deteriorate until the sickness gets complicated and eventually death follows. This case also applies to other diseases. Nigeria is one of the countries with very low life expectancy. Even Ghana has higher life expectancy compared to Nigeria. Fake drugs contribute greatly to high death rate and low life expectancy! Is it that our health policy makers can't connect the dots or what If they understand all these things, why then is it that they don't take drastic measures to curtail the menace of fake drugs distribution Why would they choose to play politics with something as critical as human life![]() 2. Health tourism: Nigeria has the potentials to become a health tourism destination not only for other African countries but even for people from other continents. This is because, just like India, we have the best brains in medicine and other healthcare professions. However, because we haven't gotten things right with our drug distribution policies, people don't have confidence in our healthcare system. Nobody wants to die in our hospitals due to fake drugs. 3. It encourages Criminal activities: Some of the drugs used for therapeutic purposes have the ability to act on the brain and alter the mind, example is the class of drugs known as the Benzodiazepines which is used to treat conditions such as anxiety, convulsions and insomnia. Rapists use such drugs to sedate their victims before raping them( Recall the case of Cynthia Osokogu). Kidnappers also use such drugs. Unfortunately, these drugs are sold in Nigeria even without prescription, no thanks to open and unregulated drug markets which makes it possible for everybody to have access to these drugs. Another example of such drugs is tramadol and other opioids which have the ability to numb the mind and body thereby making users to act without emotions. The "highness" caused by this class of drugs also give criminals courage to carry out operations without fear of security agencies. These mind-altering drugs are supposed to be dispensed only by qualified Pharmacists upon prescription by qualified medical doctors. After dispensing such drugs, the Pharmacists ought to fill out a form that helps the authorities keep track of use of such drugs. The Pharmacist is also supposed to retain the prescription form in the pharmacy because that will save him from prosecution in case of any eventualities. All these things were taught to us while in Pharmacy school, but when I left school and started practising, I discovered that people don't even pay attention to all the regulatory processes, not even medical doctors! Tell me why Nigeria would not have high crime rate and increasing number of mentally ill individuals ![]() 4. Difficulty in product recall in the event of serious adverse drug reactions: Usually, when a drug product is discovered to cause serious adverse reaction along the distribution chain, a recall process is activated to take such drugs off the shelves and return them to the manufacturers. This process is supposed to be initiated by NAFDAC through what is known as PHARMACOVIGILANCE. However, due to the chaotic nature of the Nigerian drug distribution system, this recall process is ineffective in Nigeria. This is because the majority of the people involved in the value chain of drug distribution in Nigeria are charlatans who have zero knowledge about drugs. So, they don't even know what to do in the event of such adverse drug reactions. MY PIKIN teething product killed many innocent kids before it got completely recalled because of this poor distribution system. I wonder what will happen if a deadlier product enters the market in the future. It'll be bloody! The list goes on! All over the world, the Pharmacist is the only trained health professional with the mandate to make, distribute, regulate and dispense drugs. He is under oath to ensure that the drugs getting to the end users are wholesome and meets all the regulatory standards. But here in Nigeria, people believe in cutting corners and there's always this believe that "anything goes" in Nigeria. So, instead of going to Pharmacy school to train as Pharmacists so they can gain knowledge of drugs or employing Pharmacists to man their business, they rather evade all regulatory standards specified by the drug laws and official books thereby making a mess of the system and sending many unsuspecting Nigerians to their early graves. This problem is worsened by the fact that the majority of the people are ignorant of the fact that drugs can actually kill as much as it treats diseases. Drugs kill subtly and there's hardly a forensic mechanism in place to enable patients and their relatives seek redress from the courts in the event of injury or death arising from use of therapeutic drugs. Another problem that militate against proper drug regulation is the unnecessary rivalry between Nigerian Pharmacists and medical doctors. In the developed nations, the Pharmacists and medical doctors work in agreement to foster good healthcare but here in Nigeria, the two professions seem to be in unending rivalry to the detriment of the patients. The Nigerian medical doctors have refused to stop being insecure and concentrate on the broad field of medicine. Instead, they want to usurp the duties of the Pharmacists even with their limited knowledge of drugs. Medicine is so wide and Nigeria is grossly lacking experts in the various specialties of medicine, but our medical doctors would rather drag space with Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals instead of striving to meet up with the nation's need for experts in the various specialties of medicine. This unnecessary bickering between the two professionals contribute to the problem of poorly regulated drug distribution system because the majority of those at the helm of affairs in the health sector are medical doctors and since pharmaceutical sector is under the ministry of health, the doctors have continued to be a stumbling block to the progress of Pharmacy in the country. Take for instance, the national drug distribution guideline (NDDG) which was initiated by the federal government. That policy was well thought out and was arrived at after a thorough engagement of experts in the pharmaceutical sector, but till today it is yet to take effect just because some uninformed medical doctors in the ministry of health and NMA are not in support of it. They are not in support of it because they had been taking advantage of the chaotic drug distribution system for their selfish gains and at the detriment of Nigerians. Therefore, it is very important that every well meaning Nigerians should rise up to the occasion and prevail on the Nigerian medical doctors to focus on medical practice and leave the issues of drugs and drug regulation to Pharmacists! Nobody else can regulate drugs better than the one who makes the drugs and which is the Pharmacist! The rivalry is uncalled for because the Pharmacists know their scope of work, and right from Pharmacy schools, they're made to understand the need not to go beyond their scope. |
EreluRoz:But that's the truth nau. |
EreluRoz:Giving it to the guys they like means that it is their desire to have sex, so the guy's intention is immaterial. In fact, guys should even start charging money for meeting up the bodily cravings of such ladies. Except in the event of rape, I believe that guys should not be held responsible for pregnancies resulting from consensual sex with ladies. |
EreluRoz:Women are the gatekeepers of sex. They determine if sex would happen or not and they usually give sex to the guys they like. So, that is why they're mostly blamed for the consequences of premarital sex. |
Tjra:No amount of professionalism would prevent one from getting a hard-on while kissing and smooching those pretty ladies in movies. I've seen some actors get really aroused during such scenes in movies. |
Rest on Barrister Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji A lawyer and a footballer |
EreluRoz:And it takes an irresponsible lady to sleep with irresponsible men! So you see, single moms are not innocent. |
I know that even the current economic hardship will not stop Nigerians from voting rubbish during next general election because Nigeria is full of tribal and religious bigots who would rather get everybody drowned in hardship so long as their tribesmen are in power. The devil is fully in charge of Nigeria and it reflects in the pattern of voting in this country |
Being a single mom is a sign of irresponsibility. It takes an irresponsible lady who cannot reason properly to open her legs for an irresponsible jerk! So op, if you decide to allow yourself get blackmailed into marrying a single mom, OYO. |
