It doesn't matter if its only once a year. A building is required . Secondly the wider a building is the higher the roof or head room ought to be. Several things are required in large building . More toilets etc , so an entire work is required . Spaces, isles crowd movement ll have to be calculated, fire escape , emergency exit. Etc etc. I'm surprised Nigerians in diasporal can't understand these technical things .

It's a simple common sense to expand if the place become small . Even if the place is not yet small and you perceive the tendency of over flow soon you start making plans immediately. Is it when rain begin to fall on women and children you start to run to and fro? Haba!

They are building a house of worship . The revelation that God doesn't dwell in human temple is not a new testament idea or revelation. It had been a truth from Old Testament . There is need for structure as a place of worship . It's a simple common sense .

So the altar call is necessary in church . Peter made altar call and thousands have their life to christ . It doesn't have to be called altar call . It's just a religious name . I can lead people to christ in the plane, train or hotel lobby , even in the bedroom or by the road side . Altar call simply means to lead men in prayer of salvation .so it's necessary to have someone lead the other in salvation .

Of course some members pray and call the God of their pastor or church. I don't subscribe to it. But I understand the perspective. It's has nothing to do with another special God. There were issues like that in the bible which they misapplied . For example God of Jacob, God of abraham ,God of jacob, God of isaac ,God of isreal ,fear of David were terms used to address God. Many capitalise on Paul's prayer too in Philippians 4:19 . Saying "my God" Instead of our God or God rather.

Such use is not making reference to another special God,or idolizing the pastor. But it's still not proper anyway. God was clear on who he is based in covenant . He is God of Abraham,Jacob and Isaac
