My sincere advice to you based on experience is for you to get them to a nearby country like Cuba,Ecuador or Bahamas and from there you can get them into USA.I have done that for somebody earlier this year and within one month,his family joined him in USA.So,if you are interested,post it here and i tell you how to arrange for it.Or better still call me on 08052778461 or 08037060650.

One thing you can do is visit your local politician they usually have a way of solving these types of issues as long as you have a decent job and you can support that person.

It's an election year those politicians would do anything for a vote.

There isnt much a congressman/woman can do in this situation. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There isnt enough visas to go around. U'll have to stand in line with everyone else. No cutting

if u re on a student visa, then u cant work unless u want to be working illegally which will make it impossible to adjust to permanent residency unless u marry a USC.
After graduation thou, u can apply for an OPT which is for about a yr or 2 yrs depending on ur major.

first things is applying to a school. some schools dont require u to have toefl especially if u re from Nigeria. They know Nigerians are very good with english language.

I don't get the question but U cannot get a student visa if you are already in the US. You can file to change ur status maybe from B2 visitors status to F1 student status.

There sure can be. When u have more than 20 million illegal immigrants, something needs to be done.
Am not saying that permanent residents have to wait 5 yrs for their families to get here. They should be allowed to bring in their immediate family whenever they wish but u know how this government works. Everything takes for ever.

Nope, u dont have to pay anything. U just have to show that u can afford to pay for atleast a yr of tuition and living expenses.

if you are coming to the states as a student, u only need a one way ticket.
If you are coming as a visitor. u definitely will have to show that you have a confirmed ticket back home.
Return ticket i guess the way its said in Nigeria is a to and fro ticket.

Guys thanx for the reply.Pls any possible solution for this question.I once apply for visitor Visa to UK in 2004 and was refused,i want to change all the information used then,now that i want to apply for studying Visa except that i will retain my name.i hope that wont affect my chance of getting the Visa.Hope to hear from you soon

it wont affect ur visa application this time UNlLESS you used fake documents and information for your last application.If you did, then dont even bother applying because it will be refused and u might get a 10yr BAN

when are u're travel dates? are u looking for a one-way or return ticket??

Good question. Its really hard to convince a consular office at d US embassy that you'll be coming back to Nigeria permanently after you graduate from college in the US because most Nigerian students don't.
What Oyewolejos said is pretty good and all you can do is say it as convincing as possible and hope for the best.

Have u had a situation in "NIGERIA" where a loved one had to be taken off life support (ventilator or feeding tube) because they were brain dead? And is the eqipment and facilities available in most hospitals in Nigeria for a doctor to say for sure that someone is brain dead?

It was only a matter of time considering there have been outbreaks in most parts of the world. Swine flu can be managed with the right treatment. It only becomes deadly or life threatening if one has certain underlying serious medical or health conditions. The government had better start stocking up on Tamiflu and taking cues from other countries on how to manage any pandemic.

That has not been the case. yes, there are high risk groups like u have mentioned but i have taken care of young adults with absolutely no medical history that have come down with this H1N1. all of them ended up intubated and on a ventilator.
Tamiflu should be made avaiblable to anyone having flu like symptoms but it shouldnt be abused because there is a shortage of the medication at the moment.

I work in a 26 bed intensive care unit and 16 of our patients have comfirmed H1N1 virus and all of them are on the ventilator. We actually dug up a few ventilators that was used years ago because the hospital is running out of ventilators.
If this thing should hit Ngeria, lots and lots of people will be killed. Nigeria's health care system will in no way be able to handle the swine flu. People on ventilators here still have poor prognosis let alone someone in Nigeria that has no access to basic tamiflu.
I just hope and pray we keep this swine flu on the othe side of the world unless our african brothers will perish.
Hopefully, there will be enough H1N1 vaccines to go around. lord have mercy.
