Mouth twisted, the facials flustered, eyes-, blood shot as though tears of blood would cascade in a heartbeat.

I could recall crying because a certain year Christmas in my formative years was ruinous.

No! Hurricane didn't destroy our home or did our house engulfed by fire but...

Mom instead of making the usuals for some obscure reasons switched to "ofe onugbu and Akpu"

I felt like a little lost boy.

Even the association of meats in the soup couldn't suffice or better still propel me to enjoy that particular Christmas.

No Rice. Then you have a wrong Christmas. Was my thoughts as a child.
The story is different now.

Last year, a goat head and four legs was used to celebrated the coming of Santa to town.

This year, man took it up a little, two grown chicken and a carton of smoked fish to make it memorable.

Growth is deliberate.

While growing up, it either cow skin (kpomo), mackerel (shawa) or nothing at all to quiet the stomach from rumbling.....

Altruism is different from passion, abeggi..

Even the three frontrunners can't claim to be altruistic with all of their plans. It's a matter of voting for the lesser devil and expecting him to perform the work of a diva.

Regardless, Nigeria will be great.

Well there are no permanent friends, no permanent foes, but you need to choose your enemies carefully.

But I'm sure of one thing, some people political careers will be dead and buried after this election.

Man, you're setting yourself up for more danger.

I'm not being tribalistic but you're likely to be an Igbo man. The thing is I'd advise you can spare a year or so and travel to Nigeria (eastern part) and see things for yourself and if that there's no eligible lady up for marriage then you might need a pre nuptial agreement before you settle down with the spec you've mentioned up there.

Anyway, I gallant for my beer parlor for Sagbama sha

She said that on Christmas day? What was her facial expressions, countenance when she said that? Was it flat out or laced with unspoken humor?

That statements from her was borne out of ridiculous idea of a cheap wedding.

Perhaps in the cold quarters of her mind she budgeted 500k and ever ready to spilt into half because she got 300k max in her account.

Subscribe to her yearnings and get a professional to draw up total cost of High Nigerian wedding...

Never go below 10M.

Hypothetically, she'd run away like bats from hell. However, if she agrees to fund half of that price, which is 5M, then she's the prize.

That's her side of the story, let's wait for her friend side of the story too and lastly we might probably wait for the objective side before letting our emotions get the better part of us in this story.

Anyway, if you've been 'greenlighted' before, don't go ahead kissing the one who gave out the lights, seek for their consents first before going on. I feel like mumu typing this because e get as e be for my keypads sef.

So the question boiling in my mind is what's the usefulness of being friends with the opposite gender?

It not always about money, the Saudis have more money than any African country and they also deal with these kind of problems too but just on a different scale, their elite (Mostly Royals) like to die in foreign shores e.g US, France or Switzerland.

You use the resources you have to build power and influence but low IQ people don't get it.

Wagwanbrethren:
According to some dude who prolly knows better than everyone. No one should interfere in the barbaric act of Taliban even now that Qatar and other Muslim community has condemned the act. How do you justify misogyny and sexism against women?

1) Islamic courts are controlled by men.
2) Woman doesn't have the right to divorce and must seek a court to grant her divorce for specific reasons other then her just wanting to be divorced or dissatisfaction with the marriage while while the man has the right to divorce.
3) Women must obey the husband
4) Women must seek permission to go somewhere from the husband.

The following hadith I believe exists in both Sunni and Shia sources:

A woman came to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه واله and said: O’ Messenger of Allāh! What is the right of the husband over the wife? He said to her: She obeys him and does not disobey him, does not give anything in charity from her house except with his permission, she does not keep a voluntary fast without his permission and does not prevent him from herself even if she be on hunchback. She does not leave her house but with his permission; if she leaves without his permission, the angels of the heaven, the angels of the earth, the angels of wrath and the angels of mercy damn her until she returns to her house. So she said: O’ Messenger of Allāh! Who among the people has the greatest right on the man? He said: His parents. She said: Who among the people has the greatest right over the woman? He said: Her husband. She said: So do I have a right over him similar to what he has over me? He said: No, not [even] one in a hundred! She said: By the One Who sent you as a Prophet with the truth, no man shall ever own my neck.

These points where taken from religious scriptures of islam, hence proves islam to be sexist. Sounds like slavery to me. Ooh, bud it is!

chaseblack:
This is something I have been pondering over since. I believe the government and by extension the CBN are clueless in economy policy and this made our naira on a free fall.

How many times have you seen lower denominations recently, like #5 #10 #20 etc
It's very hard to see talkless of coins. Therefore when we come with our usual 'fuel is expensive so we must increase price of goods' or 'dollar has risen so cost of importing goods will rice' mantra, the sellers have no choice than to round up prices to the nearest hundreds or thousands because no one will want to waste time looking for change.

In developed country you can get an item for $1. 2 cents so if there is inflation the seller will probably add another 5cents or so but in Nigeria things increase by about 50% or 100% even. A bread of #100 will suddenly be #150 when the cost of production has not increased by 50% the sellers have already increased price by 50% because smaller denominations aren't available.

Small denominations should be abundant in circulation maybe this will curb the sudden astronomical increase in price.

And not to discredit the effort of EA Sports FIFA 23 simulation that predicts the winner of the just concluded world cup before a ball was kicked.

They did it 2010, 2014 and 2018. And now they got this one right too.

With simulation proving effective these days, the winners of a tournament can really be known.
