Health › Re: Dr Maduka C Ogwueleka: "Staphylococus Aureus Is A Scam In Nigeria" by JuanDeDios: 9:53pm On Mar 17, 2018
nams77:
While I quite agree with most of the points he posited like staph aureus being ubiquitous and a normal microflora, staph aureus is also an opportunistic micro-organisms. If it finds it way to the urether, bladder, urethra, it becomes a disease causative agent. Sometimes, it causes general septicemia in the blood stream and issues like carbuncle.
But Nigerian charlatan and bus vendors has made it seem like a hydra headed monster that it is the cause of every malady
You can. Also Google MRSA- methicillin resistant staph aureus for more insight
You're right. Staph does get into the urethra where it can cause sensations and be transmitted sexually. The scam, though, is real.

Anybody can get a police escort as long as you can settle the DPO.
OR
Write a letter to the state commissioner of police alleging threat to life
Or

You can borrow police from a big man friend to do escort for you...

Or you pick a police man on the road as 'lift' since most times they don't have transport money...

Its that easy

I am so pleased you opened this thread because I actually had composed my assessment after watching that broadcast but scratched it.

I remember I scored him 7 out of 10.
The guy is slightly still bigoted.
He still clings on to the flay of tithing, under a guise of ecclesiastical monitised tithe giving being a principle.
He posited that Jesus paid tithes
He was biased in the broadcast as he minded whose ox he gored

The writing was on the wall that the broadcast wasn't to every ones liking, as after the morning broadcast, the usual 3pm live streaming was sabotaged, as this as it usually is done wasn't aloud to go live.

The admins shut down the chatroom in where, everyone was asking, what's the matter, why isn't the broadcast not being shown etcetera.

The normal, after broadcast video, that is usually uploaded is now non existent

More if necessary to be Continued
I agree. I score him 5/10

The truth is you don't build a house starting from the roof, as far as the foundation is bad, we will suffer.
Any other approach is cosmetics.
What we need is for more good people to be active, but the truth is where are the good people.
The right people in Nigeria are very Docile and Dormant, and possess a very bad I don't care attitude.
I try my best to influence people around me and I believe one day it will start bearing fruit, what I want is those who I have influenced to start doing same too.

Am not intrested in changing Nigeria, what I want is my community to be a model community, when others see what we are achieving, hopefully they will copy.
Ok. Let the rest of us agonise about how to get a leadership in place that can build a good foundation.

The family has failed us
The society has failed us
The religious circle has failed us
Our mode of education has failed us
The media is failing us.

All this are the building blocks of the society, and it is the society that produces the leader.

The only way we can salvage our nation is when we salvage our society.
Salvaging society from the bottom is the best way to go. Agreed. But there's only one problem with that idea - it is not going to happen. Practicability is what those who make this argument miss. That is why your posts have not told us how to go about salvaging society. There is no magic wand that will get the market women at Ketu to stop using cheat cup or traders to stop giving bad specs to Chinese manufacturers or civil servants to stop stealing. They will only get the message when they turn on their TV and see a clear message from the top. I personally know a civil servant who resigned in 2015 when Buhari was about to be sworn in because she was indisposed and had not been going to work and had been collecting free money for a year. People started going to work on time justs because there was a new Sheriff in town. The same thing happened in Kenya in 2002 when the Narc government came to power. This is the kind of momentum you build on. People are sheep - they respond to leadership. Leadership uses carrot and stick. But what happened in Nigeria and Kenya? Things went back to normal because the momentum was lost and Presidents Kibaki and Buhari turned out to be worst disasters their countries had ever seen. But you want to get every Nigerian to change from their corner? Good luck with that. Maybe when you spend $500b on radio jingles they will get it even if the same radios keep churning out grasscutter stories from the top.

Thanks more people who reason positively need to be more outspoken consistently.

We can blame our leaders all we like, at the individual level are we on.
Until we start having more good individuals, the balance between positivity and negativity will be tilted towards the latter.
Till then forget good general leadership.
The individual makes the leader.

Cheers.
There have always been good individuals in any society. The problem we have in Nigeria is that they are a small minority. The only way we are ever going to generate the critical mass to turn things around is good leadership of personal example from the top. You need a Moses to inspire and motivate everyone.

jerflakes:
If it's mistakenly called a deer, then it's a deer
What kind of reasoning is this? You're Chinese, I mistakenly call you Filipino, so you're Filipino? Ok, let me explain.

Zoologically, for an animal to be called a deer, it must have antlers. Antlers are horns with branches. It doesn't grow antlers, it's no deer. The "deer" in sub-Saharan Africa have horns, not antlers. In the white man's language, English, they are called roe antelopes, not deer. But many Nigerians call them "deer" because they have horns and for which reason they are seen as a separate class of animals from antelope in our languages. But if you are speaking English and not your language, they are correctly called roe antelopes, not deers.

Valid point. Society can make you wary, untrusting and all. It can't positively turn you into a bad person unless you're a weakling who lacked character in the first place.

There is nothing north or Muslim about it. That is a very fair judgement in any court and any judge who doesn't give such a judgement in the face of such facts is compromised.

The Naval chief still has the right to sue Abdullahi for invasion of private land and damage to property (crops and farm) and win equal or greater compensation than this 9M.

This court was not asked to delibrate on the issue of farmland damage but the illegal detention of cows and the consequential loss of earnings as a result of said action
Right.

The owner of the cows went through a legal process to seek justice, and that's quite commendable. Quite certain he didn't choose the violent way because the ex naval chief also have armed guards at his disposal.

Now the farm owner can sue for the damages done to his farmland. Let's see how the court handles that.
Here's the first piece of farmer-cattleherder dispute that didn't end in bloodshed. Nice!
Right.

Then you go ahead to say

I am not an olosho or prostitute.

You will need a book bigger than the bible to explain how these two contradictory sentences should appear in a paragraph
Same thing I noticed. I mean, it's her right to collect money for what she likes but I'm not sure why she felt she needed to add that line. It's like a bread seller going to the market and screaming she's not a trader. Who ask you? Just sell the darn bread and skip the labels.

If you had any modicum of sense and had taken time to read the write up you would have known. Alas you were in a hurry looking for who to school so the whole of Nairaland can know you're good in English grammar.

Smh for our youths.
huh
Of course, you were quoting op. Did you see the word "while"? You calling someone you don't know a "hoe" for getting married is what makes no sense - unless you want to contend that it does. My bad writing criticism belongs to op for saying someone married another man as is she'd been counting them. I hope you get it now.
