Education › Re: Final Batch Of UNIOSUN Medical Students Arrives Nigeria (photos) by JuanDeDios: 7:27am On Aug 11, 2018
tiwiex:
Half a billion to sponsor 92 medical doctors that would soon start working their way to Canada? This was misplaced priority indeed. At least thank God they came back home.
Came back for the ceremony. And maybe to escape from one of the coldest countries on earth. Keep tabs on them - there'd be less than 10 left here in another 10 years. Since those who think for Nigerians are hardly ever known to do things well, I doubt Aregbeshola's government had the sense to ask them to sign any bonds to work for the state for a certain number of years.

If governance is like this, who will be complaining.
Governance should NOT be like this. Mr Aregbeshola was elected to put Osun State University in proper shape, not to sponsor its students to Ukraine for undergraduate studies. The students might be lucky since you Nigerians think going "abroad" is the ultimate achievement but it is taxpayers, Osun State University and future generations that have been short-changed here.

They were said to have been engaged in a fight over a piece of land and in the process, somebody died. With such fate, Pa Egbunuche has for over 17 years lived in desolation and hopelessness.
Too bad for them.

The government should temfer justice with mercy for Pa Celestine please!
I agree. This doesn't look like a premeditated murder to me. Given his age, the governor should consider releasing him on compassionate grounds. Nigerians are fond of fabricating elderly peoples' age, though!

Thank you. Even though you have explained that in any case of this sort, a member of the opposite sex is also a culprit, you have made a salient point.
In the second statement, you need a comma after "that" to set off the clause properly. Either that or you elide both commas. So it should be either

Even though you have explained that, in any case of this sort, a member of the opposite sex is also a culprit, you have made a salient point.

OR

Even though you have explained that in any case of this sort a member of the opposite sex is also a culprit, you have made a salient point.

So op might have a problem with his understanding of the map of Asia. But that's not the issue of this thread, is it?

The use of gas as cooking fuel is gradually been phased out in the western world due to safety concerns, Nigeria should as a matter urgency develop the power sector in other to enable a switch over to electric cookers that are safer.
The use of gas as cooking fuel is NOT being phased out in the Western world. Gas cooking is safe - no less safe than electricity.

Not just camping gas, same thing almost happened to me. didn't know the knob on the cooker had been left slightly on, the moment I ignite a lighter got a boom!!!

someone has just got to be careful. can happen to anybody.
An auto-ignite model would have prevented that. No matches and all.

LibertyRep:
I am convinced that PMB isn't what he was projected and packaged to be in the build up to 2015 general elections. Kemi's case is a huge embarrassment or how do we explain the fact that it took the President six good months shopping for her.

But the blame will still go to PDP for messing up greatly and to GEJ for being acutely docile and ineffectual so much that GMB became an option in the first instance.

Except integrity has another meaning, no Nigerian politician has it yet.
That was my position before the 2015 elections and has remained my position since. Buhari was never it but we were stuck with impossible options. Jonathan and the looting party just had to go and here we are in the worst possible hole a country can be in.
