Besides, anybody can arrest anybody AT THE POINT of committing a crime for onward handing over to the appropriate agency. |

Politics › Re: How A Cancer Of Corruption Kills Nigeria (Video With Documentary Evidence)- PBS by JuanDeDios: 8:41pm On Dec 06, 2015 |
jamace: Truly, it takes a man with brave heart to fight corruption in Nigeria. I have witnessed corruption, first hand, in all its ramifications in Nigeria. Having said that, corruption should not be nailed at the door step of GEJ. GEJ had good intentions for the masses BUT he was overwhelmed by the insincerity and lack of integrity of his lieutenants. Note that corruption is a whole gamut of vices ranging from misapplication of public funds to "pressing green button" to get ahead of competitors in school admissions and job employments.
Those who perpetrate gargantuan corruption are the high and mighty. They are in political, civil service and religious circles. Sadly even the masses either because of deprivation or the lure to be rich have become corrupt too.
Fighting corruption has become an uphill task in Nigeria today because corruption has taken over our churches/mosques. Pastors and imams who are supposed to shape the morality of the society are now in the front row of corruption. Need I mention that even our erudite scholars both in society and ivory towers are drenched in corruption?.
The corruption situation in Nigeria is jn deed pathetic.
I wish Buhari well in his efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption. However, Buhari must keep his eyes on his lieutenants so that they don't just shout we are fighting corruption and using the opportunity to feather their own nest. What good intentions please? |

mandhi: I have never said this before but am going to now because I shed a bit of tears in my eye for the trip cycle drivers family. Was mostly touched by his children future. Sambo and co most, and I repeat most be fully investigated and prosecuted. If Buhari does not jail and fight corruption or try to fight corruption, prosecute promoters of ethnic violence for selfish purpose May ALLAH never forgive him, because this video clearly made me u/stand one thing. Our whole problem in Nigeria can be solved by routing out corruption.
May ALLAH give him the strenght to position Nigeria on the fight track to development, give him wisdom to judge fairly and strengthen our inter relationship across, faith, religion, ethnicity and region. May grant us peaceful co-existence between regions. Ameen ameen. Stop with this sort of whining, already. Unless you can show me one country whose problems were solved by Allah. It is we the people that must say enough is enough, that if Buhari does nothing about the vermin we will march in the streets and chase him out of Aso Rock before descending on these people as well as corrupt judges. Allah has given us the brains to solve our problems, if we won't use them, we're on our own. |

coolsix: Yes! Only a client with a dollar account can remit money to you. But many countries abroad have improved. The person may not have a Dollar Account and he can still send it to you.
In other words, its not your concern whether or not the person has a dollar account, your own concern is to receive your money. The person would speak to his bank and his bank would work the magic. Very very good. This will be the first option I put to any foreign client about to pay me next. Thanks. |

kayjegs: Have you tried www.worldremit.com .This is what I use from Canada. You can tell your client to use it to send money to you. They are far better than WU. I stopped using WU to send money to Nigeria when I discovered that their exchange rate and fee is too crazy. With worldremit, you get the money in your bank account direct and you don't have to use any ID to get your money unlike WU and others. Their exchange rate and fee is very very reasonable. Sounds good. I will check it out. |

coolsix: It works like this:
Your Dollar Account has an account number, Sort Code and a SWIFT Code.
You give the person abroad the following information:
Bank Name Bank Account Number(The Dom Account) Bank Sort Code(Optional) Bank SWIFT Code(Most Important) Bank Address: Use the bank's Head Office Address or The Branch Address where you open your account Bank Country: Nigeria
Thats all.. The Person would make the payment at his own bank abroad and the money would be delivered to your account within 2 - 5 days.
Note that someone cannot send Euro(€) to a Dollar Account! Impossible! To receive Euro, you must have a Euro Account. In other words, only a client who owns a dollar account can remit money to me this way since my account is in dollars? And I can use any friend's account which is denominated in euro. This sounds cool. Thanks. |

onajo2000: Just try and open ur domicilary account and when u want to open it ticks dollars, Euro and £ And automatically pay the money into ur account I actually have a dollar dom account. You mean I can ask the sender to send the money in dollars and pay it in there directly? But I noted that on the receipt my client sent me, they already calculated the naira over there which suggests that once the money is being sent to Nigeria it's automatically 'nairalised' for the receiver. |

Last week, I had €90 sent to me by a client in Europe. To my surprise, Western Union used the exchange rate of €1 = N202.
One euro is going for between N230-N245 out there and bank rate is N216. (Meanwhile, whenever you do transactions online and pay with your MasterCard the bank deducts money from your account based on the black market rate.)
This is pure robbery. Has anyone else experienced this? |
