This assertion is not totally true...........i have lived in ikorodu for years now and i can say categorically that the ORO festival is fading away little by little not as strong as when we are growing up..........Besides i have known some hausa community around SABO market in ikorodu for donkey years and they are still there...........some of their children have even almost become OMO ONILE .

So unsettle them might not be totally true.......after all we need them around for some menial job like KURA KURA ( weeding farm) and fetching water and likes...........all we need most now is to let them know understand how to co habit with their host communities and live in peace.

I don't think I know how to put it, I have often felt it and have never had the generosity of expression to drape that feeling in more depictive words.......so forgive me if I seem vague.

There's a certain inability for women to show kindness to the offspring of another ----even the child of a sibling ---- in a selfless and unbiased manner. There are exceptions, of course, but the number isn't large enough to discredit the well earned stereotype.

There's just this domestic maltreatment of wards by women that has become trite since humanity.

Good observation.

Sometimes reading through postings on NL, one cannot help but be perturbed at how ignorant and gullible folks can be.

Speed kills. If an SUV doing 140km/hr has a blown tire (especially the front one), the driver will most likely meet his creator that day.

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought SUVs were safer on the expressway? I even read it somewhere.

Somwady is filantin while som fipu are think she is crazy ni. Let me tell you in Zaria fa so many tins are allowed.

That been said, I think training and torture follows the military tradition. Train your mind and torture your body to withstand torture. The thing is, unlike in the civilized worlds our criminals are not civilized to torture you and then release you later to get some medals for being brave and swift; they just take off your head.

The NDA should spend much time to fine tune civil discipline into cadets and not make them animals without conscience cuz this their 'bloody civilian' mentality becomes a big divide. They should be taught that true duty is to protect a life and not punish at the slightest provocation.

I dint if my officer friends can even be in a protective detail without losing their cool before nursery sch pupils that will want to throw simple chalks at their principals.

Someone said the FBI, yes they keep their cool and don't go trigger happy or tell the next man that he's a civilian and so should be a lesser human.

Training ni, filanting fa!
Bolded should be enlarged, framed and hung in every military office and institution in Nigeria.

Makes sense now that you mention it
No, it doesn't - if you think about it. Many, possibly including you, struggle to pay their rent and some of them have one special talent or the other. As a fresh graduate, what he needs is a job, not charity. He already has something since his grade and the fame that has attended it will definitely open doors for him. I hear he already got five job offers - that's an advantage, more than some get in their lifetime. Again, he doesn't need handouts since he's capable of earning his keep. If you want to solve someone's housing problem, I commend you. You can help Ayodele but if doing the most good is your concern, I'd suggest finding a homeless person who genuinely has no means of paying.

And if you're one of those whinning about Olajumoke, I say deal with it - the world is like that - Michael Jackson earned more than Einstein and Naomi Campbell earns more than Hawking. It doesn't sound right, but stop making it sound like a Nigerian thing.

Has Britain returned any looted funds such as Ibori funds and many others?
Last year former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was in Nigeria to put pressure on PMB to buy weapons and drones from an Israeli company who were ready to bribe Nigerian officials, but received a NO from PMB.

Corrupt Britain still invades countries and sponsors terrorists alongside USA with the aim of stealing their resources from Iraq to Libya to Yemen to Syria etc.
Britain is not even democratic as their Head of State (the Queen) is not elected but a monarchy, But they called Gaddafi names as life time President for adopting a similar system with England wherein he holds the office of Head of State with a Prime Minister but got destroyed for it.
Britain helps Nigerians and Africans in power to move money to Swiss banks and buy shares in London Stock exchange so how can they help you to fight corruption?

Business › Re: Devaluation: IMF Versus Buhari - Henry Boyo by JuanDeDios: 5:13pm On Feb 29, 2016
seunmsg:
He did. He has been suggesting over the years that instead of CBN collecting the country's dollar earnings and printing and distributing the naira equivalents, they can issue dollar certificates instead and the beneficiaries will change it to naira in any DMB. With this system, we will have dollars chasing naira instead of Naira changing dollars and CBN won't have to mop up excess liquidity at high interest rate.
Oh, OK. Brilliant. This is the first time I'm reading him.
Business › Re: Devaluation: IMF Versus Buhari - Henry Boyo by JuanDeDios: 3:52pm On Feb 29, 2016
seunmsg:
Henry Boyo's perspective on the foreign exchange management is always very interesting to read. I agree with him completely that devaluation is not the solution to the current exchange rate crisis. If we devalue now, we will all come back here to debate about the inevitability of another devaluation in the next 6 to 12 months. So, fighting the root causes such as excess naira liduidity is the way to go.

I also think we need to stop appointing bankers as CBN governors. They always face this crisis of interest that makes them to take decisions that are more in the interest of the banks than the country. We need well knowledgeable economist like Henry Boyo who are not attached to any commercial bank to head the CBN. We need a CBN governor that can see through IMF's recommendation and stay away from them. IMF is only out to protect foreign interest and not that of Nigeria.
But he doesn't tell us what those antidotes to excess liquidity are. And hasn't the naira devalued itself already irrespective of what government does? I wish he also offered perspectives on the solutions to the CBN monopoly on dollar supply in a monoeconomy.

Absolute nonsense. The NA should release the erring cadets to the police who will in turn institute a criminal case of assault and battering against them in court. Shielding them from prosecution and punishment under whatever guise is unacceptable.
Some offences are statute barred after a period of time. Unfortunately, it's the law and there's nothing the commandant can do about it. He should have reported on time.

We have said this years ago already.
Innoson cannot rely on government patronage.

Do serious marketing and provide good after-sale service. Plus affordable $6000 to $10,000 cars. It will be hot cake.

This is the right time. There is more consciousness now that we need to buy 9ja and create local jobs.

But I suspect that Innoson may not have the capacitye yet to produce enough cars should demand surge.
Maybe they are taking it step by step.
Your observations are right but too much step by step won't do. Mr Chukwuma needs to forget the one-man show and either bring in partners or go plc to raise cash. Then he can run a serious autobiz and compete. Forget Murray-Bruce's silly campaign. You need to get your basics right.
