It is not a matter of amount. It is your ability to convince the people that

1) You have ties to make you return to Nigeria
2) You have enough money to take care of yourself.

Even if you have Zero in your account but you can demonstrate that you have a good job that you are coming back to, there should be no problem. The FLOW through your account is more important than the BALANCE in the account. Some dont even look at the statement of account.
If you have ZERO in your account how will you convince the ECO that you can afford the cost of your trip?

I've applied for visa with Zero account balance. I only attached my CSCS statement showing my stock holding. When asked why the account was zero, told them I dont keep cash but invest it.

I've applied with ZERO account balance and I was given. My payslip was enough as proof of my income.

More than your account balance, your INCOME and FLOW through the account is what is important.
Which embassy was that?

Oh yes, those treacherous fake, half-baked smiles westeners throw at one along with their constant back stabbing. Then lets add to the fact that they try to frustrate one because of the accent or because they cannot pronounce one's African name. What else? too much bigotry and discrimination. A lot of back stabbing in the work place. Too much ignorance and sheer stupidity when it comes to other cultures and nationalities. Extreme weather conditions like hurricanes, snow storms, tornados, earthquakes and the likes (at least in America that is). Working a lot and paying so much in taxes. You never see your money making it quite difficult to save a substantial amount of money within a reasonable period of time. There is much more to be said but I will stop here.

Hi All, Pls I need some information urgently.
My In-law applied for a student visa but was refused on the grounds that her office admin didn't state a break down of the maintenance fee given to her in the letter they provided. Her school is supposed to resume on the 30th of Jan, which is today but she has been allowed to resume anytime before the 13th of January. Her office drafted another letter to the embassy showing the breakdown of the maintenance fee and she reapplied immediately with the same CAS issued by the university. I just heard from a friend that she isn't supposed to apply with the same CAS. She got the CAS in December and reapplied with it because she thought that since it is valid for six months then it shouldn't be a problem. Pls how true is this??
Yes its availed for 6months, so she will be ok.

Exactly! There are lots of challenges in life and you cannot say what you will do if you find yourself in a very challenging situation and you want to survive at all costs. All the same these people could at least treat these women nicely! if they do treat these women well these scam could even continue till kingdom come becos no one will complain in a win win situation. However, I am very shocked that in Ireland there is no law against sham marriage! no wonder they have many pakis and indians going there for these sham marriages, as far as I know as at 5 or 6 years ago there were not many asians in ireland, most asians living there were of chinese origin but I'm now surprised that they have been swammed by pakis.
Ireland has always being too slow to react to changes, since eastern Europeans joined the EU  Ireland has become a soft touch for sham marriage as their law is not as tight as that of England and Scotland. The abuse of the sham marriage is what get Irish people angry.

If those women are even paid what they were promised we will not be here now discussing this, using them without paying is just sick.

Get whatever it is you want and then let her be. There's really no need to beat her up or treat her like she isn't a human being.
Thank You!! that is exactly the point.

I agree. Trafficking human beings for any reason is not only morally wrong but reprehesible as it is slavery described with other words.
That is why people are calling for the law to be changed because Pakistanis , Indians and couple of Nigerians have turned it into human trafficking business. We tend to abuse every dam system and when people reacts we call it racist.

U musn't reply every moronic comment u see online. Some people are too lazy to do a little research on their own and as such heavily rely on Al-jaz , CNN and BBC. My brother is one of such people and he NEVER sees anything wrong in anything America does.

IMHO the Libyans have not yet recognized what hit them and will not till maybe 5-10 years down the line. Libya CAN never be the same again not to talk of being better than the ghadaffi regime. The west uses so much propaganda to fight their wars and that's how u win wars! In saddams own case we were shown videos of the massacre he was alleged to have carried out in a village, but videos for Ghaddaffi's have refused to show up. Is it not because they are all lies? If a govt fights militias who have seized arms against it, is it illegal? Well let us watch as events unfold and see which party to the discourse would chew back their words.
Yes they are better off now without Gaddafi, he is gone for good.

But really this sham marriages aint no big deal to be honest cos not only Nigerians do it,  and i don"t blame them one bit . Now as much as we all want to claim that we holly here on the travel land section, do u mean to tell me all ur relatives living in Europe or US were born there. men some of them got into this fake marraige parole so lets stop making a big issh abt it but bringing ladies from Latvia and forcing them to marry that one i no support oo. But to my Naija folks in the UK and all over the world do wat u gotta to do to get ur papers. Some of us when we were leaving naija we lied on our application just to get the visa , me i lie well well  and till today i still deh lie deh go lol
Before you start ranting garbage the issue here is the way those women were bought and sold for sham marriage, if a lady agreed to marry anybody for money its her business and that of immigration to find out if their marriage is real or not. It becomes sicken when it turns to human Trafficking business.

Unfortunately I only watched 3mins of the clip as it is the same old story. Like I said above, if a lady agrees to marry for cash on her own volition under no duress, it is no crime. However if you force a lady from Latvia to marry someone against her will then that is a crime.

A quick question bruv as I think you are in the UK. You may be British by birth, in which case u were just luvky but if you arent British born and now live here legally as a permanent resident or a British citizen, that means you applied for a visa to come here. This question also applies to all other Nigerians that came to the,UK pre HSMP.

When you were filling out your form, you were asked a question if you planned to return to your country after whatever you were going to do was finished. You had to answer yes to get a visa. If we all answered yes to this question, why are there so many of us in the UK? Apart from those who were headhunted before thr end of their courses in uni (negligible number) or maybe by some miracle headhunted while walking along and minding your business on the High street (virtually nobody) the rest of us are guilty of lying during our applicationou (crime)
Maybe you need to watch the whole clip then.

Staying back legally after graduation is not a crime in the UK, if two adults agreed to get into sham marriage then that is their business, its left for the immigration for expose them, but buying and selling women for sham marriage supposes is morally wrong, the Nigerian in that clip is a disgrace.

Kini big deal? How many Emiratis or Kuwatis do you see getting hitched in sham marriages? Answer is 0. And why is that? Because they are better off in their own countries. IMHO, if I meet a Nigerian girl of Irish citezenship and she agrees to marry me for cash, there are no victims and I see nothing to be ashamed of. If life was fair to all, and not the current sitiation where most of the worlds wealth is concentrated in certain countries, there would be no need for sham marriages. In fact, there would be no such thing as immigration departments.

The kind of people I hate the most are those ethnic minorities in western countries who after obtaining their residency papers or perhaps got it by birth from their illegal immigrant parents, start to scream; we are full, there is too much immigration, our high streets have changed e.t.c.

To my Naija peoples, continue doing what you need to survive as long as you are not engaging on crime.
Why was your Nigerian brother running with his little boy then if he was doing legitimate business?
