@justwise Its very unfair to take sides in this way. I had and still see other posts on Nairaland related to such, and I imagine that a lot of these still end up getting sorted out in front of us.  I would expect you to take Bandiejay's abusive language more seriously as moderator; WE ALL have a right to retain some level of anonymity on Nairaland. My claims to assist with Visa issues have not been verified or debunked by you or any one else reading this post, just the same as hundreds of thousands of other posts on Nairaland. Until then, you must spell out your rule, they must apply to all and you must be fair as moderator. Bandiejay has no right waht-so-ever to insult me without reason. Mr. Moderator, there are similar claims you have created and responded to, kindly respect ours. No man is an Island, Nairaland should be used positively as a networking forum, not one to accommodate scammers or those who title all Nairalanders 'Scammers'.

There is a Nairaland post that says "Justwise Is Has Scam 2 Of My Friends"(google). I wouldn't want to verify that because I am here to mind my business and I cant debunk the poster because I don't even know you(We are all somewhat anonymous). Until my claims are debunked by a Nairaland member, I think you should concentrate on taking  Bandiejay's abusive language more seriously.

Please let peace reign under this topic.

Prolong war on the so called terrorist groups has so far successfully achieved one thing worldwide: left economy of a nation fighting it in a mess. USA almost went bankrupt last year as a result of war on terror, the debt ceiling had to be raised, temporary solution. This is a country that was once economically buoyant before war on terror campaign, is this country that we're calling upon to come and rescue us? There is no need for us to permanently institutionalise terrorism in Nigeria by taking hard stance approach. Let's call and listen to them first. Simple approach. But the fear of Islamising Nigeria are making some Nigerians uncomfortable this idea.
About what? Stopping Western Education? Islamising Nigeria? Can we meet their demands?

@Adebyte. Thanks I appreciate. After completion of my course in November, I decided to come to Nigeria in December since my next course starts in May. I've just been working voluntarily at my cousin recording studio in Lagos to skillfully gain more experience from my sound engineering course. I really understand your reason for the advice but is it really advisable I portray myself as been employed in naija considering the fact that my next course in SA starts in May and my proposed easter holiday is in April which means the duration of my stay in naija prior to both my visit to the UK in April and to go back to SA is less than 4months from my arrival in December which would make employment unrealistic within this short time. Yes you're right, I could apply from SA if I was going for xmas holiday since I'll be back there in May but I'm going for easter holiday and I'm here in naija now. Is it a disadvantage I'm applying from my home country compare to applying in SA? And about the 8days duration I intend to spend in UK, why is it advisable I put in for 2weeks as my first time since I intentionally want to spend 8days? Will the ECO have any problem with shorter duration? I'll appreciate more guide and advice. Thanks I appreciate. smiley
Will read and reply ur post later, need to sort out few issues here.

Hello guys, I'll like to ask a question but first let me explain my situation. I once had a UK student visa in 2004, had difficulties with an aunt and my brother who was to take care of my accommodation and decided to return to Nigeria. However upon resolving this issue, i tried going back to England but was stopped at the point of entry and my visa was cancelled (literally with a huge red x sign). The reason for the refusal i believe was because they were skeptical if i was a genuine student considering how short the time was from when i left England the first time to the second time when i tried going back. I'm currently a US resident and i'm thinking of taking my vacation in England to visit my brother after my graduation in May. I guess my question now is, what are my chances of securing a visa to the UK?
You will be fine as long as you meet the requirements AND explain student visa incident, don't hold back any detail.

I think you will find it difficult to get anybody to buy this spin, BH is a terrorist group from day one, please don't give me this story line of 'peaceful organisation' nonsense. BH is doing what Taliban,  al shabab and other Islamic militant groups are doing in   Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia.

We all know what they stand for, like somebody pointed out . . NL now has branch of BOKO HARAM.

yes it was reported to the police and fire service and the house was insured.press was present too.
Then she got nothing to worry about, she should request for the incident file from either her insurance company, the police or the fire service, as long as she is able to convince them that they own the house then she will be given the file, her insurance documents will do.

One more thing pls,she had a housefire in the home she and her husband shared just a few months to his death and lost most documents she had.will there be a record of the fire somewhere she could access since it happened in the uk?
Well, it depends, did she call the police/fire service? Was the house insured? Was it reported in the press? Does she have pictures of the fire incident at that time?

Yes she's got the marriage and death certificate and had just over a month to go on her spousal visa before she lost her husband and decided to come back home.
She can apply as a bereaved partner with this form

But she should make every effort to read this guidance note

And again, must I take toefl.

You will be refused, the company is not sponsoring you, so using their account for visa purposes makes no sense.

If your course requires you to write TOEFI yes you will need it.

this friend of mine is a nigerian who got married to a british citizen in the uk and was living with him there on a spousal visa.
unfortunately, her husband died and she decided to come back to nigeria to deal with her loss with her family and friends around her.she didn't realise that she could still apply for indefinite leave to remain in the uk as a bereaved spouse and has been in nigeria for 3yrs now.she now feels ready to go back to the uk and has enough money to last her for awhile.is there a chance that she could still apply for her indefinite leave to remain in the uk now?and how does she go about it from nigeria?
Does she still have the marriage certificate, death certificate and other documents related to her late husband? How long was the spousal visa she was given before her husband died?

Foreign Affairs › Us Navy Seals Has Done It Again! by justwise(op): 10:20pm On Jan 25, 2012
Two foreign aid workers kidnapped in Somalia three months ago have been freed in a rare US military raid.

US officials have confirmed that elite US Navy Seals were dropped into Somalia to carry out the overnight operation which resulted in a shoot-out.

Vice-President Joe Biden told ABC News that the mission was approved because of the failing health of one of the aid workers.

The hostages - a US woman and a Danish man - were seized on 25 October.

American Jessica Buchanan, 32, and Dane Poul Thisted, 60 were freed uninjured, although nine of their captors are said to have been killed. No casualties have been reported among US forces

You people are so miss informed and you let the White people tell you that you are criminals and are spoiling your country's name. The bible says he that is without sin should cast the first stone. AMERICANS ARE THE MOST CORRUPT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. Have y'all ever heard of WALL STREET. Was Madoff a Nigerian? Was R. Allen Stanford a Nigerian? Between those two dudes, they defrauded people of a total of $72BILLION and that is way more than Nigerians can ever defraud in total.

We are not criminals and we need to understand the propaganda that is going on to blacklist us. Stop calling each other names of what we are not whether Yoruba or Igbo. The drug game is dominated by Americans and Mexicans but yet we call each other drug lords. Identity fraud has been going on since identities existed even before Nigeria knew what a computer was.

Obama has surrounded himself with some of the most corrupt bankers ever in the History of Mankind but no one calls him corrupt like we call our own president. The cabal in Nigeria is not even close to the Wall street cabal in USA.

We are no where near perfect but neither is the EU or USA so don't let them blacklist you. RISE AFRICA AND SEE THEIR PROPAGANDA >

I have been issued a students visa for masters degree(Computer Securities and forensics) in the UK,everything is set i should travel in 3days time, but after reading lots of post here in the forum,i kinda have this reluctant feelings of going there. sad

My questions are
1)How really is d educational standard in d uk?How often are students awarded first class degree?
2)what are the chances of getting a reasonable part-time job?
3)Any good tips of living in the UK,precisely london.

Moreso,i have my eldest brother there living with his wife and daugther and will be living with him.
What are the opportunities i have?
If you work hard and deserve first class you will be given one but you are asking your question at the wrong time, you should have asked this question before considering studying in the UK.

As per job, you are not guaranteed one, whether gutter cleaning or gutter digging you will learn from experience.

Tips on how to survive in the UK? Lower your expectations especially in the area jobs.

I applied for UK visa with my husband and daughter July last year, our applications were refused and we appealed the decision in September. My husband and I lived in the UK for about seven years before we moved back to our country. The hearing of the appeal is set for 6 February 2012, however, I received a call from the British High Commission yesterday 24 January 2012 to come and submit our passports. We went to British High Commission today 25 January 2012 to submit of passport but we were given a slip to come back on the 22 February to collect our passport. I don’t know what this mean. Can we still go ahead with the appeal on the 6 February or what.
You just have to wait and see what happens on the 6 Feb, since they called and asked you to re-submit your passport before the appeal could be heard, it could be that they have had change of heart and see no reason to continue with the appeal.

Julz85:
My partner of 2 years has a complex case and I just want to see if you any advice for us as I feel the legal advice we are getting, may be money driven rather than about realism.
He came to the UK in 2002 as a visitor, he then met his now estranged wife in 2003 and sunsequently overstayed until 2005 when by this time they had their first son and married here in the UK. At this point they sought legal advice. They had another son post marriage. In 2009 he was sent to a detention centre but got bail and was signing in twice a week. His solicitor in this time had put in an application for a visa which was received. During this time him and his wife seperated. He was re-arrested in 2010 and held in a detention centre based on breaches of bail conditions. They said he had not submitted an application as stated, where he had proff of receipt letter from the Home Office in this time of appeal and investigation he was told he could voluntarily return to JA and apply from there or stay as an inmate at the detention centre and face the possibility of his appeal being rejected and being presented with a Detention Order. Against my advice he returned and now as oif Jan 2012 he is still there and we don't know whether the 5 year ban applies to him or not.
I just want to know what type of fight we have and the grounds on which he can apply and whether there is even a chance of him returning to be with us.  huh huh
When he married his first wife and they had kids together, why did he not apply for a stay at that time? Or did the marriage ended before he could get his papers? Do you have kids with him?  He can only appeal his case through family route as he has right to family life in the UK though they may drag it longer but surely its a winnable case.

On the other hand. . . you could travel to JA and get married to him officially (though you have to check if he divorced his first wife first) then apply for spouse visa from there.

Lanquart:
Thanks a million times "Justwise" for the insult. But a million name calling from you will not stop some players that are traveling this week and the others that will also travel after them.
In as much as I don't want to join issue with you in particular, but with reference to my well advertised visa procurement both here in Nairaland forum and in the print media,I can vividly remember your only complain then was that the visa fee was on the high side and some other people also pleaded that I should bring the fee down which I dutifully explained to them why the visa fee was that amount because I believe in "what is worth doing is worth doing well"
It is unfortunate that you are now terming it fraud because I refused to yield to your demand of (bringing the fee lower). All the same I thank you for having time to contribute to my thread, whether good or bad,I appreciate.
But for your information,we have succeeded in getting more than 12 visas for people since then from different embassies here in Nigeria and those whom their visas were denied for one reason or the other,we have successfully returned their international passports to them and some that made deposit,we have also refunded their monies back to them.
I stand to be proved wrong
Nevertheless,I like the watchdog role you are playing in this forum but that will not make you assume that any visa issue is a scam.
One thing i can't stand with some of you is the level of misleading and false hopes you muddle up in your business, there is no single player in Tanzanian league that earns ANYTHING close to that figure, only in Tunisia and maybe Egypt will a player earn close to $10.000 a month and its not just average player.
Stop misleading people, lying to make some quick bulk is pure evil.

About your visa 'business' . . only a very very naive individual will pay $500.00 for visiting visa to ANY country in the world, how can you ask somebody to pay $500.00 for visa that cost less than N80.000 ? They can't work or study with that visa, its pure greed on your side.
