umarwy: The laws doesn't apply to friends and family..
UN were against bush invasion of Iraq, what did they do? Where are the sanctions?
Bush swore Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, that he is a threat to the whole world. They invaded and destroyed a country with no justified.
Whenever brown people take up arms in defence, they are labelled as terrorists. But the Ukrainians are hero's.
Last last, What do I know, all we can do is observe. As for the past few decades there have always been multiple Active wars/conflict around the world.
I don't see anything special about the Russian invasion
You mean brown people like ISIS? BOKOHARAM, TALIBA, and the rest of terrorist groups that kill anybody including their own people? Those who behead christains and journalists? What in the name of God are you on about?
Ukrainians are defending their country, they are not blowing off trains, aeroplanes, churches and market places.
dustydee: The have but Priti said they don't need to come here but to remain in the first safe country they arrive at even though some of them were headed here because they have relatives here.
Yes she has to say that else you will have uncontrollable amount of people at the border, smugglers will take advantage.
I think the British media houses have been fair in covering this war and many other wars specially sky news, there is no state-owned media here unlike Russia, no media station here will not be out of business for even questioning the prime minister.
Peerielass: I agree. Also is Ukraine not in Europe even if they are not part of the Union as of yet. Hardly in the same position as Afghanistan and Syria.
The Uk spends £1.2m per day on refuges, Syrians and Afghanistans are among them
dustydee: Are you guys observing the double standard in this Russia v Ukraine saga? Not home office is saying Ukraninans with families here can come but the same home office denied Syrians and Afghans refuge saying they should claim assylum in thier first safe country of arrival. Then FIFA and UEFA has suspended Russia yet when The UK, France and US invaded Iraq, Libya and Syria, they were not suspended. Also the media organisations here are often fond of accusing the Russian media of bias but are yet to analyse the situation from a Russian perspective or from a Black man's perspective. So much hypocrysy. I pray that peace will reign and both parties will resolve their issues. Putin took a wrong step and the west also.
I don't think that is entirely true, the UK took a lot of Syrians and Afghans refuges
My friend, a student in Ukraine alongside others fleeing managed to cross the Ukrainian borders into Hungary for safety.
He thinks it would have been better for him if he had ran into Italy since many of these countries are in sympathy are willing to accept them, it would have been a nice opportunity. But the problem is that his passport now has the Hungarian stamp from the border.
My question is: Since Hungary and Italy are both Schengen countries, can he still get into Italy now for refuge?
Thank you very much. I'd appreciate it if this gets to the front page.
Claim refuge because there is war in Nigeria ? Is he a Ukrainian ?
Poanan: Why will you bring a girl here to serve as somerhing else. You bring her here and she begins to feed you from day one while you study. It is a bad thing to start using someone from day one Bro. Not be only u de school and work.
onibokun10: Hi guys, thanks for all your helps in the past . Now settled in the UK.
As a single guy, I'm thinking of quickly getting a girl from home to marry and bring her here.. it'll serve as an edge for student dependant move after my own studies and she'll be able to work full time while I study. Pls house, what are the pros and cons of this thought and chance of possibility?
Do you have a girlfriend in Nigeria? I mean someone you have known for sometime and in love with? If no then think long and hard before bringing any girl here, as it's you can get any girl to join you here but whether it will last longer than one year is anybody's guess
Africans are being refused entry into a train taking people from Ukraine to Poland.
The group of Africans were forced to wait for Ukrainians to go first in several trains, and had to wait until all Ukrainians had boarded trains before they would be allowed to get into one.
This is amidst a war in the country that has seen over 150,000 people flee their homes as Russia continues to attack.
There is no sign of a ceasefire soon, as both sides continue to fight.
Pastyk: Forget that your talk, why is it that Nigerians are good at discouraging others. People are even saying the visa does not have expiry date on it. So many Nigerians have moved to Germany with it. I just asked a girl that stays in Poland just now and she says is possible.
Why are you here asking silly questions? Nigerians like you make my blood boil, if they told you that the visa has no expiring date on it and that People are moving to Germany with it then why not tell your brother to start moving ?
You take any opinion that is not inline with your ambition as discouragement.
nice2men: Thanks alot. May God bless you for all your help on this forum.
All the very best, take your time to get all the documents you need but make sure you apply with at least 6 months left on your visa else she will not benefit from PSW
nice2men: Thank you. I appreciate. A friend suggested getting a UK based immigration lawyer to help with getting a waiver because of her disability before applying. And that application should not be submitted blindly as UKVI do not act on sentiments. Do you think this is correct?
Not entirely true in fact the opposite is the case.
You don't need immigration lawyer but if you have the money then go for it, one thing you have to bear in mind though is that the cost of looking after disabled person here is very high and requires 24hrs care in most cases
So before you apply you will need to find a school for special need and get her admission first or make care arrangement for her, You will need paper evidences of all that to apply for her visa.
1. Amidst the state of emergency in Ukraine, is the Embassy in Nigeria still issuing student visas? 2. If No to the first question, Please how can I go about passport retrieval?
One of the reasons I considered Ukraine for study was affordability while having competitive ranking in the world. But It seems part payment in the UK would have to do.
Thank you.
oo360z: My application is already with them and its been there for two weeks. If the Cancellation process takes longer than the issuance process, what would have been the fastest way to get your passport sir? It was a very valid question in my opinion. Just because we see information differently does not mean my point of view is bland.
Janet200: You are the one that is heartless, do you have anything for her in Nigeria. Writing jamb for 3 years no admission, go back to Nigeria to do what. She is safe, we are always on call with her, I have not had good sleep or rest since Russia invaded. Also she does not want to go back to Nigeria for anything. Just don't want her to be illegal in any country, we have plans for her to move to a better place.
This is just nonsense, you need to be alive to even think about writing jamb. So wasting away or even dying in foreign land is better than returning to Nigeria? This is like saying you will never get vaccinated but still die of covid 19
Poland will priorities Ukrainians before foreigners who refused to go back to their countries weeks before the way starts.
oo360z: Bro I just want to collect my passport back. And I needed advice on this. Instead of trolling me why not offer me advise?
I'm worried about this that is why I'm asking for this information. I called VFS Global Ukraine customer care line as you can see in the screenshot but to no success in reaching them.
We should learn to be more supportive even in virtual space. To me that is the true essence of Nairaland.
I will never even try to support anybody with such question, if you are only concerned about getting your passport back then you shouldn't have asked question about visa. People are dying for nothing for God sake!
Janet200: My sister is currently heading to the border from Lviv, please any info on how to continue study in poland or any close by country will be appreciated.
You are heartless, rather than praying that your sister get home safe you are more concerned about studying in Poland. How desperate can people be?
Jamestown123: Na only us suffering won kill for africa.
Some Nigerians have no shame or sense, Ukrainians are getting killed by Russia, thousands have crossed to Poland and many can't even leave the country AND a Nigerian wants to apply for visa to travel to Ukraine?

Yes they are and airlines are flying in and out of Ukraine, the war is not affecting student visa holders or foreigners.
nice2men: Thank you. Please what are the requirements? She is over 18years and I was told she is ineligible to apply as a dependant due to her age.
Ok i have to revisit the rule again regarding age of dependant, yes its true that over 18 is not eligible but you still have a case considering that your daughter is disabled. Do you have her medical papers that state her condition? Who is looking after her now that you are away?
With a detailed explanation and paper evidence she stands a good chance of getting a visa
Iamkoolkay: During my dependents application, they requested for my visa expiry date. Is it the visa expiry date on my passport or my BRP expiry date. Note: My visa expiry date is April 2022. Pls advise @justwise
You have only one visa and that is what they are asking for. BRP effectively is a visa
MznAirA: No he only did the capturing and all on the old one. Then he renewed the passport and attached the old and new together for submission to TLS for visa approval.
He has not done anything wrong, there is no need to contact the embassy for anything. The TLS guy is talking nonsense
Iamkoolkay: I tried filling my dependent visa application, after completion, I was redirected to IHS which I filled but no amount was advised to pay. I was only instructed to pay visa application fee. Pls what could be the problem? @justwise
Continue with the application at some point you will be asked to pay, if you are not asked to pay and your visa comes out then carry on with your normal day to day life.
MznAirA: Please I need advice. My brother renewed his passport after he has done his biometric and capturing. He applied with his wife and son(dependant) and they have been issued their visa. His passport would expire in June and because it does not cover for the duration of his stay in the UK he had to renew. Now the issue is the embassy is saying he has cancelled the first biometric he did on the old passport and the probability of him getting the Visa is shaky right now. He also has a deadline to resume in the school by month end. Is there anyone with experience of such and how we can handle this. He has also sent a mail to the embassy explaining why he renewed (also because of the rule in Nigeria of renewing a passport with 6months validity).
Please I need advice and guidance on how best this can be resolved
Please clarify this ..
He was issued a visa on his old passport before he renewed it?
