sollie001: Hi everyone! I'm being sponsored for my studies. though not full, i would however have a little over 7200 pounds for living expenses after tuition fee payments. any worries for visa application?By who? |
Don Oms: Hello Justwise! Thanks for the good work & kudos to you and all following the thread. Pls, I have 2 questions. 1) Does the UKBA add any interest rates on the direct Naira/Pound conversion from oanda.com? I ask b'cos the money quoted is quite low as compared to the #260/£1 on the Visa App Fees site of UKBA.1.UKBA got no influence on the exchange rate, they use oanda exchange rate of the day you submitted your application, if the rate changed after your submission then its not your prob. 2. Yes |
@Justicewise Dear you are doing a nice job. God will bless you for your support. I collected my VISA today after waiting for 26 working days. I'm going to RGU, Aberdeen. Any one going to RGU ?
Congratulations! |
foohard: Apparently, YES!!!That is not really the case, UK universities will assess your application to know whether you will need to write English language test or not, if its stated in your admission letter that you don't need to write one then the embassy will not demand for it. |
Dear justwise..I was silently reading all the comments in this thread since part1..and now after I submitted my application last week,I couldnt sleep literally! My application was perfect..I submitted all required docs..but the problem is that I didnt check the box where I was asked if I have ever been refused a visa before...I applied to a USA visa 2 years ago and the processing took too long that I decided to live my life..I wasnt handed a refusal letter..instead..the US embassy called me and asked me for more documents..it was late already so I decided to forget about US visa..now my question is..am I considered to be refused a us visa? Should I said yes when I was asked in the form about other visa refusal? Could ukba find out about this Plz help me am dying
Did you withdraw the application? Though you don't have much to worry about. |
lastround: Please is the partner of tier 4 applicant required to book an appointment or she just fills the form and goes to vfs centre to submit her application with the husband. One form is enough for a family traveling together |
FrontPageLawyer: Please is it also advisable to book hotels from booking company e.g www.booking.com?Look for premier Inn, travelodge, holiday-Inn..etc those are budget hotels you can find in almost every single city in the UK. There are too many of time in London. Booking is good as well. |
Hello everyone, I've been reading this post from the first page and sincerely, its been educative all the way, there's no other way to appreciate your efforts than to pray that God showers his blessings upon you all... As I read from the first page, I was hoping someone would say something about my school of choice for my MSc but nothing came up, I got an offer from University of Glasgow to study International Business and Entrepreneurship (MSc), would be resuming this sept by God's grace, total fees is about £16,500 and I've made a prepayment of £2,000, also got an accommodation with the school, but the issues I have which I would love fellow Nairalanders to help is that; ## I was told the remaining £14,500 balance can be spread through 8 installments with direct debit, this I do not really understand, ## also when I was about to make a £450 prepayment deposit into the school's account through bank transfer for my accommodation, gtbank charged me #2,000 here in Nigeria and when the funds got there, they deducted £12 as offshore charges and that kept me wondering that transfering money in this procedure would be problematic, now I feel that if the funds are kept in my gtb naira mastercard, is there any other way around making payments when I get there just to avoid excessive charges on the installments... ##i would also appreciate if anyone can brief me on the social life, part time jobs, african shops and other nigerian-related information about glasgow/scotland in general especially the scottish accent... Thanks ***Happy New Month***
Yes some schools are kind enough to give foreign students direct debit arrangement, its an arrangement whereby you are allowed to pay your fees monthly or quarterly, you may be asked to pay the remaining 12,000 pounds in 3 or 6 months. Every month the fees will go out of your account automatically. The downside is this....if you don't have the money ready in your account at a specific date then the bank will charge you everyday you default. You will always be charged for money transfer, that is normal. You can open domiciliary account and transfer the money into it then travel to the UK with your bank card. |
VisaOfficer: By the way -- no offense, everyone -- I've been getting a lot of private messages. First of all, I don't know how to check them,Please ignore them, if i knew how to disable your PM i would have done it because i feared that this will happen. People with genuine case don't send pm, they will ask their questions here, the dodgy ones and the 'visa agents' are sending those pms. |
@Ricky Rozay I don't moderate this section for an agent and i don't want to be insulted doing it. |
SAT1: @justwise and all: I now have my complete tuition fee in a friends dommy acc as GTB refuse to open 1 for me and my sch also refused to debit ma Mastercard. While all my maintenance is in my personal saving acc. The idea is my friend will pay this money on my behalf to my sch.Split that money into 3 and pay it within 3 or 4 days just to avoid getting into money laundering problems. |
baslone: @justwise or @vicJusticeCongratulations! Enjoy your time |
master007: Thank God for my life. I got my student visa without an agent but with God's favour. Thank you Justwaise and futuredon for your advice. Class starts September 2nd but Visa starts reading from August 3nd. I going to Liverpool. Thank you all for everything. I give God the glory. Visa took 16days for processing and I also used 2 statements of accounts.Congratulations! |
badesco: I will most Nigerians looking for white collar opportunities to pleas stay in Naija and lets salvage it together and make Nigeria look like Britain and other Best countries of the world. NIGERIANS SAY NO TO BRITAIN BUT YES TO NIGERIA. Britain is worse than Nigeria............Confused.com |
Banned from entering Uk? When did the Uk banning of people started? I thought that this banning policy started some five yrs ago? But this incidence happened in 2004.Ok even if he was banned from entering the UK in 2004,I think the ban will elapse after 10 years, right? or does Uk engage in life ban for passport falsification?
What punishment was in place before the 10yrs ban was introduced? |
syahboy: Leave them to defend their selves, Nigerians always settling for less. Meanwhile check out Indians and chinese peeps mostly competing with americans for slots in their top schools, anyways different strokes for different people. I am a sharp shooter and can't settle(Msc) for any school if their electrical engineering program is not in the top 40. I'm currently attending KNUST(B.eng) and its in the top 50 in the whole of africa and top 10 in west africa. So those who want to go to schools ranked 100000 are free. That is not entirely true, a lot of people end up in lowly ranked school because the fee is affordable, not everybody can afford top-ranked schools. Attending top-ranked schools is good but will not necessarily make you better academically than somebody who attended lowly ranked school. It may get you a job but you can still be useless at it |
Thanks Justwise (The numero uno of Travel section) .But I hope it wont affect his chances because he will now tel them that he embarked on such illegal trip out of youthful exuberance and the fact that he was just fresh from the university then and was jobless. Now he is a big time business man controlling millions of naira with a limited liability company incorporated since 2007 and other things to prove his success in business.I hope telling them this ignoble truth wont affect the decision they will take regarding his present application. Thanks
That should be the very least of your worries, you need to clear your past immigration offenses by telling the truth then let the embassy decide your fate, whatever the outcome is at least you know that you don't have to be looking over your shoulder at the POE. At the moment your banned from entry the UK, no good record with Austria immigration, lying to German embassy and getting caught can only make matters worst. |
Vjustice ,Justwise and others, pls let put head together on this issue. I have this cousin who is going for his visa interview at the German embassy next week. The problem now is that he is in a delima and he came to me for advise. His problem is this: In the Germany visa form, there is a space where they asked if he has visited another state (including Germany) using another identity or nationality? The truth according to him was that he has lived in Austria in 2004 as an asylum seeker with another name and different nationality not Nigeria and in that same 2004 he tried to enter UK with another persons passport and he was caught at the airport in UK where his finger prints were taken and he was sent back to Austria. Now he is a successful business man in Nigeria, married with 4 kids, have his own company, and more than 6 million naira in his bank account. His questions are this: (1) Should he tick yes in the question that he had tried migrating to the UK in 2004 and lived in Austria as an asylum using different names and nationality or should he said no since these incidence happened 9 yrs ago though his finger prints were all taken in the two countries. Before giving your answers, pls know that the Germany embassy in Nigeria is now collecting peoples finger prints, will they see his fingerprints in those countries if he said No. (2) if he said the truth to them, what is the implication for him towards granting him the visa? Another issue is that he booked appointment for interview at the German embassy three months ago and along the line he was bereaved and as a reusult,he couldn't attend the interview and he forgot to cancel the appointment, what is also the implication of this for him during his interview next week.
Yes Yes and Yes, tell the truth, you can't run away from your immigration history, lying about it can only make matters worst, tell the truth and free yourself. Missing appointment is not a big deal re-book. |
ferdiii: Yeah but not without a punishment. ferdimako is barred again,I was trying to get that across to everybody. My days here are getting numbered.Who banned you? |
Bibrahim: Oh seen @just wise.thanks. The amount in the company account is about 9000pounds so it's needed.transferring it to the personal account would help no? sorry for the primary questions but ukba had become something of a pain in my neck. That is the solution. azpunpin: @JustwiseYes you can do that as long as your maintenance money is not touched |
Bibrahim: Hi justwise. Been on this forum a couple of times and I gotta say I snore your patience and time invested in answering our questions. I've got one .My dad is paying presenting his company statements along with his personal bank statement as supporting documents.I was wondering if I should include in the letter showing my parents have given me permission to use their funds, the fact that the company is registered to my dad and probably include a copy of the certificate of incorporation and his business card?Id rather be overdoing it than fall short.Do you think that would be sufficient ?thanksIncluding company's account will cost you the visa, keep that away from your application. His personal account is enough as long as it has all required amount on it, you don't need any letter to prove that you are allowed to use the account, your birth certificate will take care of that. |
karisgabby: i pity for nigerian because we celebrate the wrong course. Our politician use diplomatic passport toWhy were they arrested if its not a crime? |
oolumide: Friday 31st of august and to return Sunday Sept 8 2013. ThanksWhy not do this yourself? Little search will come up with loads of cheap deals Kenya Airways got no office in Nigeria or you can't search and book online? |
This clip is here already, search you will see it |
Captain001: Please Just Wise, I need your opinion on this. I was advised by a relation who schooled in the UK ages ago to transfer my school fees as well as all my living expenses to my school in the UK and then obtain a letter(from the school) stating that I have paid as well as deposited enough money to see me trough my one year masters program(which ofcourse will be the truth). He said that will compensate for the 28days am required to keep money in my account. Please what do you have to say about this? Thanks in anticipation of your usual quick and helpful response. That is wrong and not the rule, you will be refused a visa if you do that |
You do realise you are the third wheel here. Give it up. I will only debate with logical people
No you are getting educated because you lack one |
coogar: so a nigerian graduate with a british passport is not a nigerian graduate? i wonder why your stats is only counting nigerians that are illegal - nigerians that are not meant to be here at all are being compared to the ones that should normally not have any restriction and the comparison is fair to you?Right on point!! You wonder how this individual get-on day by day if he reasons this way |
Justwise, how about you take a back seat and let mature minds debate. Okay. I'm not interested in your rants
Now you are tied of talking nonsense? Making assumptions based only in your non-existing experiences? What a shame. Hope you get educated from others |
The exception is that you do not have "paper" issues in nigeria and this my friend is a big deal
Give us the graduate employment figure in Nigeria to backup your claims. Nigerian graduates in the UK face paper problem and that will definitely increase the unemployment figure, give us that figure from Nigeria lets compare |
Haba. 50k for many years? At least for the banks it averages 100k. There are nigerian graduates that are british but they are not part of this discussion because immigration/paper issues do not affect them. I argue with factsand not sentiments. Where have you seen someone working 5jobs and then still make less than 3000? My guy you are lieing. Lets no derail. The issue is UK vs Naija for naija grads. Everybody knows the peeps in America earn more "after taxes" - no need to argue that.
Where is the fact? There is no single fact in your argument, its all baseless personal opinions |
